Place itself is ok but not a mass selection of plants and the restaurant which on past visits years ago was excellent served us dried out sausages and a cob that was so dry it crumbled upon handling.. Food is average now to say the least and for 8 quid per breakfast cob you expect higher standards so a little dissapointed

We are regular visitors here when visiting Melton Mowbray. It is by far the best garden center around. You can shop until you drop and then take lunch, tea, afternoon tea in their excellent restraunt. This friendly place is full of atmosphere and character. With its log burning fire place in the winter and outdoor tables in the summer ( if we have any). The menu is wide and varied. The service is excellent and friendly. It accommodates babies and small children well with high chairs and special events outside. Halloween is fun and Christmas is magical. Very dig friendly. Ample parking. The downside is it doesn't have a farmhop with fresh produce. Oh and their cakes are to die for. If you want to make a weekend of it. It accommodates, mobile homes, campavans, caravans and camping. At reasonable prices which also has there own little cafe if you don't want the main restraunt.

We and our Great Dane Sapphire are regular visitors to The Grange through the spring, summer and autumn - walking there from Melton with her. It’s fabulous to have such a brilliant dog friendly establishment at the end of a lovely walk. As (in Kim’s words) our pup is the size of a small pony, we choose to sit outside because she takes up quite a lot of space 😂 Sapphire always receives a friendly welcome and a dog sausage and of course us hoomans enjoy the best breakfast in the area, a croque madame or tartiflette (my personal fave!) There’s a superb array of drinks (including a particularly lovely rose wine) and a wide selection cakes. Whoever I come with or meet there, we’ve never had anything other than a thoroughly lovely experience. In fact hubby and I rave about it so much that we are often gifted much appreciated vouchers for birthday and Christmas! Keep doing what you are doing, you are a jewel in Melton’s crown.

Have been to the restaurant at the grange a few times previously with no problems - but totally different story today. Not clear if it’s table service or not - as nobody seats you - you just get your own table - but they come to take your order at the table? So how do the waiters know who is where etc. chaos really. Had to wait over 40 minutes for food, which when it arrived was really quite low quality, my relatives jacket potato was rock solid and my son’s beef burger was overcooked. Plates didn’t get cleared away, had to go up to the till to ask for dessert in which a member of staff said they’d come over and take our order. We waited 15 minutes and nobody came to the table so we went to pay the bill and left.. quite a shame, we left feeling very disappointed!

The Staff are lovely, they all go out of their way to make you feel welcome. There is one member of staff that we always look forward to seeing & that is Ellis. He is such a lovely young man, he always goes out of his way to make time to check & see we are okay, how was your meal etc. Don’t get me wrong all the staff are welcoming & helpful. Been here a few times and never had a problem here. However, today was a little bit different. Me and my partner came here for some breakfast. The pancakes are a little measly. 3 pancakes that are clearly a child's portion and 2 rashers of fatty bacon. Other than that, the breakfast muffin is well worth the money. My partner ordered an iced latte and then proceeded to ask the waitress (the lady with the dark hair and glasses) what syrups are available. Her reaction to that question was simply 'Well ,what do you want'. This comment may have not come across as abruptly as intended but it did seem rude. My partner was struggling to think as she was never given any option. Any other cafe/restaurant are happy to tell you the options upon asking. When my partner asked again what options were available, it almost felt like it was a chore to even speak. It's really not that hard to explain what your restaurant has available. After numerous times of asking her, she gave in and actually mentioned what they had on offer. It really didn't need to be that difficult. To me, it just seemed a little abrupt and rushed. My partner had to wash her hands after her breakfast. She heard the same lady talking to her staff, moaning about how a customer was staring at her 'Dumbstruck'. If you're going to complain about the people who are putting money in your wage packets, at least do it when no one can hear you. Most of the staff are friendly. Just the odd one who seems to be having a bad day.

I've always loved coming here. I remember taking a friend who isn't local and she was blown away by the fantastic decor and cozy atmosphere. I visited today for a special occasion and was so disappointed with the food. It wasn't awful and maybe we ordered the wrong things, but it seemed really expensive for quite simple food and some of the portions were on the small side. It also took a very long time to be initially served, have our plates cleared and to pay the bill.

We went for a drink just before Christmas and it was full to the brim so obviously popular. My rating is based on my experience. I had a latte and a slice of cake. In comparison to other similar places the latte was small and not very nice. My husband had a flat white coffee and he also said it was pretty awful. The cake was a big slice but was dry. Friends of ours had soup and they said it was nice so maybe if we go again and eat a meal I will be more impressed but just on the drinks and cake £11 for two coffees and a dry slice of cake is not great in my book. The rest of the place is the garden centre which is small but seems lovely. The toilets were spotless and nice. The shop sells lovely gifts.

Been three times in the last month for an evening meal. Experience has been consistent. Lovely friendly staff, although a little stretched. Good selection on the menu which should please most people and most things are great value. I can vouch for the fish and chips, lasagne , lamb shank and burgers as being very tasty and good portion size. On some evenings a free pudding is included. The puddings are all cold puddings in a chilled cabinet where you help yourself. On our last visit you could sense the pudding anxiety across some of the bigger tables with nervous glances from diners during their main courses to check what puddings were left. Some scurried off to grab their desired desserts during their mains and some had more than one. Quite funny to watch but personally I'd suggest they keep the puddings in the kitchen and serve one per person.

Ordered a delivery and after 30mins I received a message informing me order had been cancelled with no explanation! No apology, shocking and wouldn't order again

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and customers. Dog friendly with a small enclosed garden.
