I’m not from Telford but was up there on business. I love Indian food and try one at least once a week, so it is rare that I get anything that I am really Impressed with but this place really impressed me. I’d never seen chicken tikka fried rice before and it was fab. The service was spot on too as was the pricing. Well done

As always, the food was incredibly good and served with a friendly smile. It was my daughter’s choice to go here for her birthday meal. The staff were great with bringing out her cake at the end of the meal (which we asked them to do when we arrived). What we weren’t expecting was the gift of a box of chocolates for her as we left. A small gesture but one that meant a big deal to our daughter, and one that means we will definitely return again. Thank you.

I was staying away with work and wanted to find a local (ish) Indian restaurant . Having read the reviews I decided to give Chasni a try. It was a nice find and very quiet when I went on a week night. Food was good and the serivce was OK.

We had been told to visit this restaurant, but until last night we had stuck with our favourite. Nestled on the edge of a small town the restaurant is located on the side of a large car park with ample spaces. The High Street is opposite and has a Tesco Express about 2 minutes away. Ideal for picking up beer and wine as the CHASNI is not licensed, or of course bring some with you. From the moment we entered there was feeling of something special was about to happen. The premises are spotlessly clean, well decorated and presented. The staff are very attentive, (and also very well presented) and make you feel very welcome. There is no rush here. That is not a criticism, it’s a very positive point! Plenty of time to make your choices from an excellent menu, with something for everyone, and the prices are excellent, given the times we find ourselves in. Food arrives, is well presented, plenty of it and obviously freshly cooked and served. The customary ‘check back’ is conducted when you have had a chance to savour some ofyour meal, unlike some where you manage a mouthful before being asked if your meal is alright. We tend to go for starters and mains, so can’t comment on sweet course, but in all honesty there was’nt much room left! Table was booked for 7.15 and we left about three hours later. The bill, for four meals, poppadums, salad, chutney etc, diet cokes x4, was £87.00. Thank you CHASNI for an excellent evening, now top of our list. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant, but don’t all go at once, we need a table as well!

Food was to die for! We were unsure on what to have and the server listened and made suggestions, which we all loved! Service was good, food was amazing! Nice friendly restaurant. Couldn’t really fault anything! The name on the plate was a nice touch also.

We had a great time at Chasni. We were a walk-in but we got seated quickly, for a busy saturday night. It's a dry restaurant but you can bring your own alcohol. Unfortunately, my bf and I didn't know that (we're not locals) but the mocktails had a dry ice stirrer, which caused bubbles and smoke to pour out of the drink, which was pretty cool. The food was delicious, and because we ordered three starters, they came on a big serving platter instead of individually. There's a good amount of na'an, an excellent amount of sauce, and the service is great. Would recommend booking for the weekend, but otherwise, had an absolutely lovely meal out. Thanks everyone at Chasni.

We have just stuffed ourselves full with a fantastic take away. The order taken over the phone was friendly, clear and concise. The Lamb Biryani was tasty with nice large well cooked chunks of meat, the butter chicken mild and tasty. I have nothing but good things to say about this take away and will recommend it to everyone.

Whoever prepared this horrid slurry should give up or seek some training off a qualified chef? never in my life have i had a Lamb vindaloo that was very sweet, unspiced and tasteless with no heat, it tasted more like tomato puree sweetened and perhaps a bit of chilli powder, which is no doubt why it was vivid red gloopy slurry sauce, my wife's chicken tikka biryiani was just as horrid and the rice looked as though it had been salvaged out of the waste bin.The Bombay alloos were no better, a few measly boiled potatoes submerged in some more horrid tasteless slurry. the only items that were half decent were the poppadoms,it was all flushed down the toilet apart from the solids which were put in our waste food caddy, an utter and total waste of good money.needless to say they will not have any more of our money.

I don’t often write reviews but I just had to on this occasion. We have been isolating for the last 6 weeks due to underlying health condition during covid 19 pandemic. today is my husband’s birthday, so to try and make it as special as it could be I decided to treat him to an Indian take away (his favourite cuisine) as we are unable to leave the house. Chose the new jewel as the reviews on just eat were very high. The ordering process and the delivery was very efficient. Unfortunately the food was just terrible. I had the chef’s special chicken tikka masala, it was BRIGHT red and tasted more like a dessert, very very sweet and NO spice at all. I also opted for the new jewel special rice, this was more like left overs all mixed together from last night. My Peshwari naan was very dry and crumbly. Everything was cold.My husband’s special balti was bland. He said his pilau rice and keema naan was ok but both the rice and curry was cold. Our daughters tandoori chicken was just weird, a strange tangy taste but it was hot.Poppadoms were good but raita was tasteless.I can honestly say that this was the worst Indian meal we have ever had and am so disappointed and would not recommend.

Mediocre Curry. Disappointed especially after a handful of positive TripAdvisor reviews. Two curries ordered for a collection takeaway plus a naan. The first was incredibly hot (temperature not spice) even by the time I got home, which suggested microwaved just before collection (but maybe wrong) but when it eventually cooled was quite pleasant with a depth of flavour however, the chef had left a load of base ingredients in the curry including what looked like bay leaves, and some large chunks of bark! I understand of course that these were there to enhance flavour, but I didn’t enjoy sifting through the rubbish to determine what was edible and not.Naan was good. Second curry was a biryani and frankly was poor. It tasted similar to and no better than chip shop curry sauce. Unimpressed by this one. To compound a mixed experience, the order was incomplete as we should have received a complimentary bhaji which was not included.

I ordered take away, which arrived bang on time. The side of Saag Panner was nice enough but I also had the mixed Tandoori. I honestly have never seem food look that bright red, the minced meat had taken on all the colour and just looked wrong. Plus none of the meat actually tasted of anything or maybe my brain couldn’t tell as it was so shocked at the colour, never again!

My husband and I have recently started eating in at this fantastic Indian restaurant. We have been once/twice a week over the past few weeks. The food is absolutely beautiful, served promptly and always hot. You can bring your own drinks which is an added bonus. The staff are all lovely, friendly and courteous. The interior decor is beautiful and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. We would highly recommend the New Jewell in the Crown, easily a 5 star.

We went to the New Jewel Saturday the 6th of October, we did not book and when we arrived we were welcomed warmly and told we should have booked as they were busy, having said that they did find us a table and I am so glad they did, we had coffee as this is not a licensed premises so bring your own drink, we order two starters one meat samosa and chicken Pakora, the starters were hot, the meat samosa turned out to be a vegetable one but as it was delicious who cares the pakora was also delicious, for the main meals we had Chicken Mugli and Lamb Rogan Josh with garlic naan and keema rice, we were quickly served and the food was hot and delicious once again, the staff were very diligent and service first class, I am adding this restaurant as the reviews for this place are being added to the jewel in the crown in Dawley, so please be aware when you review, this a fabulous place to eat and I thank the staff for fitting us in on a busy night I will book in future as I will absolutely be back
