Decided to try here instead of our normal Indian takeaway due to a much quicker estimated delivery time (30-50 mins). In actual fact it took over an hour and half to come. We had onion bhajis to start which were like rubber! And the other food didn't taste of anything and definitely needed seasoning. It cost £50 for 5 items, our normal Indian gives us free poppadoms for spending a lot less, this was not the case here. Late delivery and tasteless unfortunately will not be reordering from here.

years ago this was my favourite Indian, but the food went downhill so we stopped eating there. However we decided to give it another go! Bad mistake.... The starter was tastless and just a bright red mush it should of been onion bhaji, the main was okay-ish for taste but was more a thick paste and dry (no sauce) with hardly any meat! that should a been chicken dupiaza....which is normally a favourite dish of mine. I've only given two stars because delivery was so prompt and guy looked smart.

We ordered a Korma, Madras and Rogan Josh and the Korma and Rogan was way too hot to eat. My dad said the Madras was super hot too, and he managed half of it. We thought we could rely on a Korma being mild, which it wasn’t. I e-mailed to explain, not asking for a refund just to point out. I said I wouldn’t add a review, but having not even got an acknowledgment of my e-mail, I thought I’d review anyway! Such a shame as the 2 staff members we met were lovely!

Popped in here as it was the highest rated in the area we were looking. Not sure if it was a mistake or what. The curries were delicious and packed with lots of chicken. The problem we had was that the mushroom rice seemed to have been sprinkled with chilli powder meaning my wife couldn't eat it (I struggled a bit too). No idea why they would do that but spoilt what would have been a delicious takeaway

This is my favourite takeout indian, my favourite dish is the chicken jalfrezi balti it is so flavoursome and is packed full of fresh ingredients. Recently ate in and it was clean and welcoming and food was amazing. Nice family run establishment.

We had a booking via this restaurant and irs really was a wonderful experience from food to service, really was 100%, chicken was soft was marinated to perfection while the lamb was melting in you mouth the flavers were hitting the right places whilst the spices were hitting the right spots would 100% recommend this restaurant if you are travelling or live locally fantastic place with soft ambience really awesome for a truly remarkable experience will visit again 100% 😀

Had a delivery via just eat of chicken balti & naan bread last night. The sauce was lovely but i asked for medium & there was no hint of spice... mildest balti ever but tasty anyway. Naan was lovely. However the pieces of chicken were awful, rock hard & chewy. Tried a bit off each chunk but all were awful. Had i left my review last night I would have said I would try them again but with different meat. However I've been on the loo 9 times between 6am & 6pm today. Very disappointed.

I have had 2 takeaways from this place now and have to say it’s been amazing both times I always worried when I have had a take away and it’s been good if it will be as good next time and it was even better. I have had a Few curry’s in my time and I don’t normally rate the take away experience this tasted as fresh and hot as a restaurant experience and when Indian food is as fresh as this it’s a delight the chicken sag and jalfrezi is superb nicely spiced the aloo Gobi Is masterful I cannot speak nightly enough I usually leave plenty for the next days dinner as portions are generous 10/10 world class

Food is so amazing I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are so freindly and welcoming. We even got to meet the main boss that do all the Curry's. My boyfriend not a big fan on Indian food but he really enjoyed it he can not wait to try somethink else off the menu. So keep it up guys your doing super job with Ur food.

Everything about this restaurant was great. The place was clean and smelled good. The staff was very nice. Our waiter was awesome. The food was fresh and awesome. Then we also had dessert and that was really good as well. Great atmosphere with really nice people, will definetly be coming back

Always love the food from here. Usually we get a take out, however now things are open again we went for our first dine in experience. Service was amazing, food tastes even better when you dine in! Lots to choose from on the menu. Compliments to the chef! Will be returning soon.

We had takeaway for pick up. It was ready in 15 minutes, given a beer while waiting chatting to the really friendly staff. The food was really quality and tasty. It was even better as left overs the next day- will definitely we returning!

One of the best restaurants in the area. GREAT food and service from Hassan and his team. I have been to many restaurants in my lifetime and this is one of the best.

We were the only people in on a hot, Friday evening but the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with a mix of traditional and more modern Indian music playing in the background, and a warm welcome from the waiter. The tasty dips for the poppadoms were a more varied selection than usual and the mains were freshly prepared and very flavoursome. The chef/manager greeted us after our meal and explained his vision for the restaurant, and, being people-oriented, we appreciated this personal touch. We had a lovely experience and will definitely return soon.

Great first visit to A Jewel in the Crown restaurant. The service and food was superb. We tried some items if the starters which consisted of Aloo Purée and a Chicken Puree which were served in a timely manner and tasted superb. For our mains we ordered the Saag aloo as a lot of the reviews mentioned that it was the best and it did not fail to impress. We also tried the Aloo Matter Paneer with the garlic and coriander Nan.The portions are very generous and we even had to get the rest packed to take back home.

Had an amazing experience from stepping in the door to stepping out. Lovely, vibrant decor and very clean.The customer service is second to none, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.The food was beautiful, my bhuna, I have to say is the best I have had to date. My partner had a prawn sagwala and had nothing but praise for it.I can't recommend this restaurant enough, give it a try and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.It was so nice to see the staff taking pride in their restaurant.

Have food from here weekly now, even if we don't go in, we still order. My son is a fussy eater so he is hard to please, jewel in crown listen to how he wants his food and makes it for him. The food is excellent, staff and service brilliant. I don't go anywhere else for Asian food.

This is the 2nd time we have been to the Jewel in the Crown (first time was for my nephews b'day a week ago) and we were very impressed both times. Decided to return tonight and my husband and I were not disappointed. The food is delicious, very tasty. Staff very friendly and chatty and whole restaurant is very clean and well looked after. and is also very good value for money. Cannot fault at all. Can't wait for my next visit. Quite the find. I recently had a meal at the restaurant and was impressed so decided tonight to order a home delivery.

Been waiting for the new restaurant to open for ages and so happy for them to finally be open in their new premises! Firstly the new restaurant looks fantastic! Great decor inside, plenty of space, great waiting area, nice toilets but better than anything else the staff and the food has remained the same fantastic standard :D as soon as you walk in they can’t do enough for you, even with how madly busy it was on Saturday night they somehow found us and others who hadn’t booked a table going completely out of their way to provide great service. The restaurant was rammed but the food was great and we didn’t even mind waiting as we could understand the delay! Can’t wait to come back again! - visit on a Tue or Wed to make use out of their old deal of 4/5 courses for a set price!

Been goimg to the jewel in the crown/ new jewel dawley for 25 years now and the recent move into new premises is a excellent one. Lovely inside with a free car park next door. New lady working at weekends waiting on and she is a great addition. Make her restaurant manager Madge!! I will continue going I hope for another 25 years.

Just moved to the old lord Hill, and wow what a transformation.

On ordering a takeaway fom here, for the first time, I have never been so disappointed! The pathia tasted like a tomato and the madras may as well have been beans on toast, for the lack of flavour and spice that was in it! I can quite honestly say I have never tasted anything so bland, dreadful and unappealing in my life. Come on guys....add some flavour and depth to your food! I absolutley will not be giving my custom again.

we went to the Jewel In The Crown last night, we rang for a table at eight o clock for three my wife, my granddaughter and myself, we arrived and were shown to our table, we gave our drink order and then chose our meals, I had the meat samosa starter which was very nice, my granddaughter had chicken curry with boiled rice not to spicy as she does nor like to much spice, she really enjoyed it, and my wife had lamb Balti with boiled rice I had Keema Balti madras hot and Keema rice and garlic nan to share, we had a bit of a wait for the food but in fairness they were busy but it was worth the wait the food was very good our Naan was slightly burnt but they explained it and gave us a fresh one without us having to say anything which I thought was really good, we will certainly be back for another meal in the future, thanks to all the staff who made It a pleasurable evening, really recommend this little Jewel

This restaurant resembles a living room, popadoms were stale, sauces bland, main was acceptable. However the staff were friendly and the meals were reasonably priced.

I came across the Jewel in the Crown by accident last week - and it lives up to its name!

my husband and I eat here and have takeaways on a regular basis. we always have our takeaway delivered within the time stated on order, hot and as requested (I always say no nuts). eating in is great value for money, with several meal deals available. they do have an alcohol license, but you can also take your own drinks if you wish. I have taken friends and family who have all been happy with their meals.

We have eaten here many times and have had lots of food delivered. We had food delivered tonight and again it was amazing. There are free starters or wine with minimum spends and the food is hot when delivered and really lovely.

Really disappointed, got takeaways from here before and were good. This time was inedible. Onion bhaji was soggy and must have been microwaved. Saag paneer was disgusting. Lamb Rogan Josh had no heat. Balti just full of oil.

Went here with a party of 16 for birthday celebrations. There was also another party of about that number in to, the restaurant was full. The food was very good and we all enjoyed what we had. we wanted an takeaway indian meal from our local town Dawley, Telford - never again the food was rubbish - no taste - small portions and hardly any potatoes in the bombay dish it was all tomatoes! no free popadoms and the naan bread was dry and not very hot!!!

The jewel in the crown is my go to Indian, food tastes amazing either as a take away or when eating in and all the dishes are reasonably priced. However if you are using the restaurant I'd suggest your book a table as it can get very busy at weekends due to it being so popular.

We stumbled upon The Jewel in the Crown purely by accident having used another Indian takeaway in Dawley for over a year previously. Let's just say since discovering this place, we haven't gone back!!

Never had any problems or complaints here at all. Always loads of meat / fish in the dishes and not greasy at all. Usually fast delivery time and everything ordered is always hot and freshly cooked and in the bag! Beautiful food.

I have been coming here for years and never had a complaint. The food is always great weather it be in the restaurant or a take away. The 5 course menu for £9.95 is great value for money. The owner madge is excellent to great customer service. Nothing to moan about here thanks madge and staff keep it up.

Amazing food/place, relaxed atmosphere, everything cooked to perfection, nothings too much trouble, cooked to your taste. Fabulous value for money. Me and my partner cant get enough of the place. I've eaten in some top london Indian restaurants and have to say this is my favourite by far 10/5 from us xx

I've eaten inside this restaurant before, and I've always had great service. This particular review is for a takeaway- and what a meal it was. I was told 45 minutes delivery time (though that's a standard curry house line!) but it arrived in 25 minutes, steaming hot. The main (chicken tikka Pathia) was lovely with plenty of chicken. The fried rice was obviously freshly made, the samosas were OK, and the garlic naan was awesome- absolutely loads of chunks of garlic (that's how I like it!). To sum up, this place is great whether you eat in or have a takeaway.

Firstly, 4 courses for £7.95 (I think) or 5 courses for £9.95 (every night!!!!) is hard to beat, but the quality of the food with the service of the staff makes the experience enjoyable every time! Love it so much I convinced everyone to have our works Christmas party there, and was a hit with £10 a head for an unlimited buffet! They're licenced but allow you to take your own drinks which is always a plus, and they have such a huge menu that you're spoilt for choice. 100% recommend :)

The best Indian takeaway by far. I regularly order a takeaway from this place and I am always pleased with the food. The prices are very competitive compared to other restaurants we have visited. I would avoid busy times and pick a Sunday or a Thursday. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough to help.

Organised a party for my daughters 21st on good friday for 25 people ; service was appaling as 6 of the guests where already eating before all the orders had been taking , my sister who is 37 weeks pregnant was served frozen samosas and I mean frozen still ice cold which was not acceptable sothat pretty much spoilt the evening also portions where appaling too the staff that where on obviosly dont work well in a busy situation , then to top it off when we came topay the bill we where told an extra 50 p had been added to the bill for bringing our own drinks I have never seen this stated or been charged it before shame maj was on holiday as never had a problem before but I can honestly say overall it spoilt my daughters 21st , i cant see any of us returning in a hurry .

A very underrated restaurant for this area. In my opinion the food is brilliant! A bit hit and miss on the delivery front, but dining in is always a great experience.

Mag is great food is fab good portions we meet quite regularly as a family would highly recommend it to anyone 5 course for 9.95 and take your own drink mag and the boys always make you welcome
