a lovely early evening family meal. We had 3 sunday special roasts including the vegan option and a burger. sunday specials somewhat expensive but can recommend the belly pork. friendly and attentive staff.

Amazing evening with my family. As this is a treasure gem for the locals, you can really feel the pride of Ham. Food wise, we had couple of starters to share, you must try the parfait and the Lamb Ragu something exceptiona! We had also the Lamb shank which was on the special board and was my father's favourite. The Fish and chips crispy and light considering is fried. And almost forgot the Guinness cake was a must. The girls working this evening were attentive and very helpful. We are definitely coming back

Really disappointing Sunday roast. Very badly presented plates, dry, hard, over cooked roast potatoes, barely roasted veg. The meat was pretty tasteless and the gravy the same. We were really looking forward to it too.

They really make an effort with the food. It’s really a cut above pub food, even though they charge pub prices. Every time I eat here I try to recreate it at home. Some of my faves; courgette soup, Bloody Mary soup, beetroot tortellini. In addition staff are friendly and the atmosphere is cosey.

We had a lovely family lunch at The New Inn yesterday. The food was very good and the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

The lunchtime menu is excellent. They have daily blackboard specials, which are not to be rushed. There's always a daily 'small bite' bar choice such as Scotch Egg, pork belly, etc, which are more starter sizes. Both are firm favourites! Update: Hadn't been for a few weeks, but when I did, Tilly gave a warm greeting, followed by 'The usual'? That is priceless, thank you! As for the fish and chips, well, I must say, it was, honestly, the best fish I've ever had. Simply, perfect! Sorry I forgot to photo before I'd cut it. The fish was amazingly fresh, but the batter? Delicious! They've swapped the beer batter for cider batter. What a difference! Thank you.

Steak pie delicious however the rice pudding with white chocolate shards had no white chocolate at all but lots of flaked almonds. I was supposed to get double chocolate as my friend didn’t want hers. It was served cold in chipped ramekins !

I visited the pub on Sunday, excellent roast, amazing atmosphere and Alex was incredibly friendly and provided amazing service !!

A warm, friendly pub in relaxing surroundings. Sausage and onion mash are excellent but sadly not available for Sunday lunch - hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Cute little pub. Stopped by on a walk from Richmond to Ham House. Only had two flat whites but really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and staff were very nice. Food on neighbouring tables looked great. Will definitely come back.

Pleasantly surprised with the food and atmosphere at the NewInn in Ham. We had a roast dinner on a Sunday afternoon and it was absolutely delicious! Really well cooked and great value for money. Will definitely go back!

You can always judge a pub by the quality of the club sandwich - arrived within 7 mins, and the chicken/bacon was freezing cold, and likely yesterday's - it was completely tasteless. Such a shame!! Honestly, could be one of the best pubs in south-west London. I really hope that the new owners update this pub, it’s so dreary.

Great busy pub to.start a night out

My friend was told to “shut her mouth” by the bar tender for discussing plans to get drinks from ham parade after we were finished at the pub. We spent over £100 and were treated badly.

Denied service and use of toilets because I have tattoos. At a one years olds birthday party on the common, myself and two relatives fancied a pint and use of a loo but were turned away for ‘bookings’ only. I run a design studio mate I’m not a ‘traveller’. Common sense has left the building. Avoid unless you look like the average gammon rugger bugger.

Cosy pub, had fish and chips, which was pretty good! Not the greatest I've ever had, but certainly nice enough.

Lovely, traditional decor public house, just a few minutes drive from Ham Gate entrance and exit of Richmond Park and nestled on the corner of Ham Common. I urge you to visit for either a hot beverage, soft drink or something alcoholic. The choice is yours. Food is of a high standard with a good choice menu. Additional toilet facilities cater for disabled with a RADA key.

It's a regular place for our co-worker dinners!

It’s a great place in many ways, but 2 major things: It closes at 8 on a very busy night. And the kids are made to feel unwelcome, even when in garden. Guess the preference is to be a restaurant over a pub, but to my preference, that’s a real shame.

Went for a family fathers day meal and the food was great, the staff were so lovely and attentive. Even providing extra chairs for the little one to be fed on. And they gave us a great recommendation on getting a boat along the river close by after

Desp needed the loo and as a disabled person who eats here weekly hoped i could pop in...nope i was refused entry as it was ham fair and t wouldnt like it.....the guy selling ice cream told me.....over 20yr been going there!!!!

I came here with my friends to come and get some food and one of the workers known as Tara I believe is very rude and had a very bad attitude towards us I will not be visiting again!!

Good local pub. The food is basic but reliable. The garden is very nice and is perfect in the warmer spring days and summer.

Went for an impromptu informal lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Food and service was excellent. If it had been a little warmer the garden would have tempted us.

Stopped here for lunch and had a great meal and service. The fish and chips was excellent with home-made batter and home-made tartare sauce and nicely cooked so that the fish was still moist. The salmon and dill fish cakes were fresh and tasty. There is a nice courtyard garden at the rear to sit in the sun. We’ll above average pub. Recommended.

Generally very bad. First of all the tables and general area were very unclean, specks of leftover food, drops of drink and whatever else had accumulated. When we asked the server for a clean they took an old damp cloth and rubbed it over on one corner of the table cleaning nothing, overall his attitude was rather lazy, although I attribute that to lack of experience. Then after we were ready to order we asked for a goats cheese salad, salmon with potatoes, one burger with cheese, no onions, no tomatoes and no pickles and one burger with bacon, no onions and no tomatoes. When the food arrived the salmon and the salad were fine, no complaints about either of those, however the burgers were completely messed up, wrong toppings, both bacon and cheese on both, both had onion, etc etc. Completely messed up. As for the taste of said burgers it was awful, for 17.95 a piece the quality was terrible. The patty tasted like a soggy sponge, the bacon was rubbery, very little of the homemade sauce and overall poor quality condiments. The the prices were audacious to say the least. If they had been half that I could understand slightly haphazard presentation and lower quality, but at those prices it was outrageous. Luckily they didn’t charge us for the extras we never ordered and we ended up leaving soon after, paying a bill of over £100, for poor food, mediocre service and a rather bad experience in general

Avoid this place! they charge you a service charge on your food! Its not table service and you have to get everything yourself. Normally that not a problem but I am not paying a service charge on food when I have to order at the Bar. I politely asked them to remove as this is discretionary and explained they do not provide a table service like a restaurant and should not be charged. They did refund my Money but the land lady was very rude about it and her arrogance was astounding! The food was ok, nothing special. Just average pub grub and there is nothing wrong with that. But way over priced for what it is. I HAPPY TO PAY A SERVICE CHARGE BUT YOU NEEED TO EARN IT FIRST!!

We went to The New Inn for a father's day Sunday lunch. The food and service were excellent. The beer garden is an oasis on a hot, sunny day. We have been here on a number of occasions - recommended.

A very nice pub by Ham Common. It has a decent selection of beers including Heineken and Moretti on tap at a reasonable price. Sadly there was torrential rain during the visit so the garden was unusable. I’d never seen rain like it! A great place to visit after some cricket on the common too, which is regularly played on summer Saturdays and some 20/20 games on a Wednesday. Opening times can be limited though, so check before visiting.

Wonderful lunch outdoors in the walled garden. Varied menu at sensible prices. Service was warm, friendly and efficient. Dogs welcome.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch at the New Inn after visiting Ham House. It was our first visit, and we'd definitely go back if in the area again. Great choice of specials , including roasts besides the main menu. All our selections were really tasty and the service was good.

Staff and food taste was good. but no way will recommend as no choice of dishes plus far far too expensive.

Decent food choice and cozy atmosphere

Visited the pub yesterday (Saturday 7th Jan), and was bitten by a dog right inside the door (badly enough to be bleeding through jeans). Neither the owner nor the staff cared at all. What a lovely pub.

Family run Pub, with very friendly staff, excellent drinks and food. Highly recommended.

Great food, service, and atmosphere.

Dinner for 3 at the New Inn this evening. Burger (cheese £1 extra) was quite the thing after a trek in the rain. Fries were crisp and plentiful, and the salad was thoughtfully presented. Cumberland sausages and mash were excellent, too, with a delicious onion gravy. Treacle tart met the case for pudding, but could surely have come with a more generous ice cream accompaniment. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. Bill for 3 with drinks £71 before the service charge. Five stars next time if you get that open fire going!

Delicious cod bake and fresh fish cakes in the garden with the dog. Service is wonderful. Everything right. An absolute delight.

Well things must have changed since some past reviews but the fish and chips was something very lack luster. For the price very dissalointing. Shame as used to be so good. But like must pubs now seems its all just a bit rubbish.

Very friendly service with a nice view and seating at the front overlooking Ham Common, and a pleasant enclosed paved garden to the rear of the pub.
