Great location close to the river Thames in Twickenham specially as the weather is getting more sociable plus live events at the weekends 👍

Went in for a drink a short visit.

Lovely atmosphere, good menu and food was served expertly and quickly. Good selection of draught ales

Food portions are generous and good selection of beers. Service at bar quite disappointing - there’s an older blonde lady who just kept looking over and ignoring me (pretending not to have seen me and did not want to serve me but preferred chatting with others). The same can be said about the younger blonde guy - he acknowledged me at the bar and just carried on chatting and was not really motivated in wanting to serve me at the bar. This is when it was not so busy either. Suddenly three other punters walk in and both members of bar staff are quick to ensure that they are served. It had a bit of a xenophobic vibe in there sadly due to the staff and I felt excluded upon entering…all pubs I go to are usually so welcoming and friendly…never felt like that anywhere else in the UK. It’s actually sad I had to write this up but it needs to be addressed.

Great pub and great food. Excellent atmosphere and lots of bar staff on (as always!) so waiting times at the bar were ok despite it being busy. Best of all, after I booked the wrong day, and only realised the day before, the staff worked really hard to accommodate my friends and I on Saturday, ensuring our day went as planned despite my incompetence! So big thanks to all concerned.

10/09/24 me and my partner got married! The team at The Eel pie saved the day truly, after another local pub had to cancel. I didn’t know about the pub before walking in the day before. Had I known about this lovely pub and its friendly accommodating team it would have been my first choice. The food was incredible and quick, everyone was well looked after! We had a tab behind the bar and drinks were flowing promptly! Huge thank you to everyone working that day you made it so special!

Avoid if you have allergies! This was my favourite place to go for Sunday roast but not anymore. Apparenlty they changed the policy and don't cater for people with food allergies. In my case it would have involved the removal of the Yorkshire Pudding from my order. That is not possible anymore as no amednements are allowed. The menu does not reflect that change either. I even had a chat with someone from the kitchen and they said there is nothing they can do about it now. It's a real shame as I loved this place but will not go back there. The staff is and was alwasy very lovely.

Great service, fast meal delivery, great tasting food.

A large selection of various beers, lagers and cider. Service was good considering the place was full of rugby supporters after the game at the nearby Twickenham stadium. No idea about the food.

Great experience even though they were having freezer problems.. They first told us it would be awhile before they could serve us. We waited about 10 min and they took our order and served us right away.

Nice for games on Tue. Nachos and steaks are OK.

Awful service. Staff deliberately avoiding me at the bar even when other people pointed out how long I'd been waiting. Historically I've been a big fan of The Eel Pie but will not be returning

Delicious lunch, served quickly. Nice staff. Only problem was the available table was high with short saggy chairs, so eating was an interesting experience. Maybe saw a bit off the table legs? Other than that it was all good.

Such a wonderful and friendly environment. Just celebrated a joint birthday with my husband and enjoyed every second of it. Jon is a great manager and helped to make sure our evening was more than enjoyable!

I reserved an area to celebrate a landmark birthday with 18 friends. From the initial booking to the night itself, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. The pub itself is really attractive and comfortable, with a great atmosphere. The staff were brilliant, prompt service and anxious to ensure all went well. Lovely food and all went exactly to plan. Thank you, we had a great evening.

This was our first time at the Eel Pie. We loved it! A beautiful, warm pub with lovely food and excellent choice of beers. Service was also very good! We're definitely going back and highly recommend the Eel Pie!

Great Pub good ale on tap and a fine selection of larger, when in Twickenham this pub is worth a visit just wished I could have stayed longer can only imagine the buzz during rugby season. Well done Guys.

Cosy and friendly pub with good food.

I came here for a few pints before the army/navy rugby match. We got there near open and were able to get a table easily for our large group. Drinks were ordered easily before the match and never had to wait more than 15 minutes as the que moved efficiently. The staff was friendly and working hard to get to everyone. Facilities were clean and well stocked. Not a bad walk to the stadium as you'll see lots of food stalls en route and merchandise for sale.

A traditional pub in the old area of ​​Twickenham. We loved the place and the service. Very good rugby atmosphere.

Great option on match days. A little distance from the stadium, however, if you don’t mind a walk it’s a great option as it’s not as densely populated as soon of the others. Beer prices are reasonable (for the south) and service is really great.

A great rugby pub on game days.

A great traditional pub, one with a history of supporting Real Ale production, which made the pub great, in its day. However, it is now teetering on the edge of blandness.. while it's framed photos hint of noble aspirations, and it's arch of corporate fizzy drinks 'pumps' offer what the masses supposedly want, the lack of choice of real ales suggest, once again, that real English pubs based on the provision of a range of good local ales, is about to become extinct. Many of the gorgeous armchairs are centred with tables that, weirdly, are about a foot too high.... easy to fix. In short, still a good pub, but needs to work harder at being a good pub before it becomes ' just a other place to drink'.

We just stopped for a soft drink. We would recommend to bartenders to have an equal attentiveness to arrival customer, waiting to order their drink.

The staff booked us a great table by a screen and window to watch the rugby. It was super hot so they cooled our glasses down with cold water before pouring our beers. Shame about the rugby result but we will return soon 😄

A good sized pub with a decent drinks selection. I've tried a selection of the bar snacks and also had a main meal here, and all have been very tasty. Always seems to be quite busy, so sometimes we struggle to get a seat.

Talebof two pubs. Saturday night is a nightmare of loud music and hen nights. Terrible service. Been going here 30 years..Then mid week it returns to a proper pub with great bitters and people just wanting a chat Ina pub. Lesson learned to avoid Friday and Saturday nights unless you are 18 and looking for a party

Consistently good food and friendly service. We had a lovely time. I would recommend getting the triple cooked chips if you get a chance - they’re lovely and crunchy!

On a Wednesday, all hamburgers are £10.95 so we decided to lunch there after doing a bit of shopping. John, the splendid manager, was on duty luckily, and we had the pleasure of being served by him. Washed down with a fine bottle of Chablis, I had the Double Cheeseburger while Mary had the battered fish burger, both absolutely delicious. We love this pub anyway, and visit quite often, but now we have a further reason to be tempted in on a Wednesday.

The most English of pubs you could ask for. No lamb for the Sunday Lunch though. :(

Entirely based on pre-rugby and post-rugby drinking experiences, great pub! Bar staff is very on top of it and professional with the crowds on those days. Couldn't give them any more credit.

Spent a lovely afternoon here to send off a retired colleague. Staff were really helpful, courteous and welcoming. We started with the lamb kofte skewers with raita, mint and pomegranate molasses and bbq glazed chicken wings to share. Lovely flavours! For mains we had their chicken and ham hock pie with buttery mash, gravy, savoy cabbage, peas and bacon. My colleague had a chargrilled flat iron steak with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, lemon and tarragon butter, watercress and fries. Excellent stuff. All the food arrived at the same time. Their food was amazing quality, tasty, inspiring, fresh and plentiful, service was wonderful, wish it was my local! Highly recommended!

A group of 6 locals went here on a Tuesday night around 7pm, got a table big enough for us easily enough and enjoyed a few drinks. Met the landlord, nice guy. The staff behind the bar were nice & talkative, a lot different to rugby days 😅

Went to the Eel Pie for a pub dinner. It was not a busy evening, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Ordered a chicken burger that was underwhelming: not as tasty as the one we used to order from the old menu, though chips were still good. Unfortunately the floor under and around the table was also unpleasantly sticky. Can't recommend if food is the main reason for visiting.

Nice and quality local pub with plenty of beer choice, live music and food. Quite popular in the area and always lively and well attended. The service is friendly. The food is tasty. There is always good company. There is also outdoor seating at the back.

Brilliant kids menu including a vegan option. Really reasonable prices and proper cooking! Gluten free beers available too. So glad we stopped in.

Located down this cute cobbled street in Twickenham- the Eel Pie is well known and a must visit! Full of locals and plenty of seats inside and out. Lovely pub with lovely staff!

This used to be a great pub, busy and friendly. Our latest visit was disappointing, the hospitality was definately lacking as were customers. No hello or welcome on arrival other that a "what" from the bar maid after we said hello. The manager was sat at one of the tables tapping away on a laptop apparently analysing the sales numbers .... not a big job ! Overall the setting is great, traditional old English pub with well stuffed old armchairs. Unfortunately the experience is closer to a vending machine. Food and drink arrives with little or no human interaction.

What a find! Amazing pub down a quaint little alley. You wouldn't think you were in West London. Delightful attentive staff. Large selection of draft lagers, beers and ales. The food served is fresh, generous and tasty. Cant wait to return.

Bit of a harsh score but I booked a table this evening for 5pm for three of us only to get there and be told there was no service until 6pm. We had to cancel as we had things on so had to eat elsewhere. Disappointed as I was really looking forward to eating at the Eel Pie Pub but will try again another time.

A really great pub to come to for a meal or just a drink. Welcomed to the neighborhood by the staff. Very friendly and great customer service. Food was outstanding! My steak was grilled perfectly and my partners fish was crisp and light. Vert decent portions. Did not walk away hungry. Will definitely be back to sample more of the menu!
