The New Inn in East Lindsey

Popped in for lunch on a Thursday. We hadn’t booked but we were found a table straight away! Staff were friendly and efficient and we didn’t have to wait long for service or food. I simply had to have fish & chips and it did not disappoint! It was a huge portion of fish and perfectly cooked!

AMAZING!!! Booked a table off the back of a recommendation and what a little gem The New Inn is! Also recommended to try the Bang Bang Cauliflower and a steak. I deviated from the steak when I saw the menu for a "New Inn Combo" along with The Triple Choc Brownie to finish. Definitely a place to check out.

I would recommend a trip out to North Thoresby for a meal. The food, along with the service, at the New Inn, was of a very high standard. Rachel and her team offer a warm welcome on arrival, and the varied menu has something for everybody.

It's a long time since we've been to the New Inn so decided to give it a try after hearing it was under new ownership and we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed an early tea last week, great choice of food, attentive and very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back soon. 🤗

Just been for scampi and chips for him and the Barnsely lamb chop for me, chop cooked to perfection compliments to the chef, good service with a smile, good size portions too. 😊

on visiting for Sunday lunch we had an excellent meal here. we were very pleased to have several vegan / vegetarian0 options for sunday lunch. Our food was cooked beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed. staff were very attentive, ensuring that our dietary needs were met. I can throughly recommend the New Inn.

Food was absolutely delicious & service was exemplary (Sophie is a hunny & an asset) venue was pretty special too - this was Rachel & Dales first night of service & it was already smooth & professional. Tried to visit today with my disabled partner after seeing open up to 11pm. Came on the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway cost us £16, only to find you closed? Other passengers also disappointed trying to do the same and cars trying to pull in and having to drive away.

My husband and myself came for a meal to celebrate my birthday. Now I have positive and negative thoughts I had the prawn cocktail starter with a granary bread roll, lettuce and a spoon of prawn. Very underwhelming to be honest. Hubby had fishcakes, said they were ok but again presentation not good. My main was the fillet steak(blue) was cooked to perfection. Hubby had haddock (small) but perfect sized portion. I did ask for the dessert menu but after waiting 10 minutes no one brought it! The place is beautiful but a lack of communication meant waiter/ess were bouncing from tables. Designating tables to each waiter/ess with one floating would resolve this. Would come back but hope it was teething problem and hopefully improve

BAD SERVICE I have changed my review after today as we have been for lunch and had terrible service from the young blond girl behind the bar. Even though I convinced my 12 year old boy to come out the house for dinner even though he has a broken leg there was no thought to him when the wife went to order as we got told others had come in before use even though this was incorrect. The young girl was rude and abrupt so roll on the 20th when the new pub in the village. Not like others who complain and then ask to come back I will say I will never come back to this pub and I wish the new pub all the best in the village it needs a good friendly pub.

Booked sunday lunch for today 23rd June 2024 and from the moment we walked in we were treated with respect and kindness 😊 our main waitress for our stay couldnt have been more polite and helpful nothing was to much trouble😍we all four of us had starter main and dessert and each course came out beautifully presented and plentiful🤩praise to the chef ive never had such a wonderful tasteful sunday lunch😍the surroundings were calm and relaxing and thankfully cool on a very hot day🥵We will definitely recommend the restaurant and will be back again.xx

Sunday lunch was nice the only negative for me was very raw greens, everyone to their own but I prefer mine partly cooked at least.

I’m that annoyed with the way we were treated by the bar staff today. Don’t expect your regulars to put up with bad service and come back. Plus the food wasn’t up to standard, not enough bread to do 4 sandwiches. The sandwich I managed to get was mostly lettuce hardly any prawns. Last time we were in the card machine was playing up so they double charged me. Asked for that to be taken off the bill today after showing proof I was told ‘ I can do it but I’m not going to,I need to ask Lorraine first’ So now waiting for a phone call.

Lovely evening spent with our special family but always a problem with admin???Booked for 8 but only a table for 6 when arrived.Not the waitresses fault!They soon sorted problem but if fully booked our family occasion would be ruined.

Fantastic steak meals and lovely wine,with great service as before,we will be returning soon.Booking the same night rang on a Friday night at 7.20pm got a table at 7.45 pm the same night, fantastic.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at the new inn with a party of four people, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. Great little getaway pub/restaurant,love our date nights there when im home. Good selection of wines and spirits and even the beers are upto date with craft beer neckoil on draught. Food is absolutely amazing, good choice of specials and especially the amazing fresh fish dishes they produce wow.

Had mushroom and beef pie and veg very unhappy with the pie it was thin the base was hard and hardly any filling very disappointed 😞😞

The newly refurbished New Inn at North Thoresby is certainly worth a visit, it’s modern but has a warm cosy feel. Absolutely delicious food, not just run of the mill menu. There is the standard menu but the specials are exceptional. lovely welcoming staff. Going again in Feb.

Oh my, what a fabulous meal my friend and I had today, and what a wonderful place to dine. The decor has been updated, modern, light, yet really cosy, and the food was beyond excellent. Cannot recommend this venue highly enough. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, too. We didn't want to leave, and will be returning soon.

It was my birthday celebration, what a shambles , arrived at 1:15pm our table was booked for 1:30pm so had a drink in the bar. I went through to the restaurant at 13:50pm and asked if our table was ready... there was 10 of us ! Waited 25 mins for a drink ! Starters arrived at 14:25pm. I had to have another word as main course still wasn't out and it is now 15:05pm 2 hrs we have been here and only had 1 drink served in the restaurant and only starters served I had a word with Julie and she said it was because she was a chef down . None of us could have a desert as not enough time available but my personal opinion is 1:30pm till 16pm should be plenty of time. Absolutely shocking service, !!! Won't be going back in a hurry ! All I did was complain. I will not be recommending this place even though the food was nice . You need to get your service sorted !!!!!!

Most food excellent but roasties burnt on bottom. Chef must have had a brainstorm when he decided to serve pate in a BOTTLE type jar. No easy way to get it out. Neck too narrow for a fork. Pate kept falling off knife. Needed a small spoon. Ridiculous idea anyway.

My wife and I went with another couple as a Christmas treat. The other couple had visited the restaurant recently and raved about the food, so we all decided to visit together. We were not disappointed! The food, beer, service and the place itself were all excellent. My wife and I had the braised belly pork and the others had fish and chips. For desert we had the Christmas inspired chocolate orange trifle. Could not fault a thing. Good portion size, served on hot plates. You could appreciate the care the chef had put into each plate of food. Will definitely return soon.

My wife and I had a meal here a couple of weeks back. I was a little apprehensive, as most of the photos seem to show food that looks very fancy, but would still leave you feeling hungry afterwards. However, I was wrong. The food was absolutely fantastic and I can honestly say that the steak, ale and mushroom pie was the best pie that I've ever had. Whilst it's not cheap here, it's also not ridiculously priced. The staff were great too. Hopefully I'll be able to get back in for more food / drinks soon 🙂

Went here for the first time on Sunday for my Dad's birthday. First of all, the staff were absolutely wonderful - very friendly and welcoming. There were quite a few menu options for a sunday which I appreciated (Sunday menu pictured). I had the nut terrine (pictured). So, the gravy, the potatoes and all of the veg was absolutely lovely but unfortunately the nut terrine wasn't very nice, in my opinion anyway. As a vegetarian I would prefer a veg pie, a veg tart or even just some veggie sausages. Occasionally a nut roast is nice but 9 times out of 10 it's a bit of a flop. Would definitely come again but not for the nut terrine (sorry!)

My husband and I thought we would try this pub on Saturday evening. Arrived at 7 45. Ordered drinks which was served quickly. Sat there over 45 mins no one took our order. Decided to go will not go back.

Cocktails are very bad, she then told me that this is how it should taste she learned how to make them in Cuba , I only drink that certain drink and its never ever tasted that bad anywhere I didn't drink it but still got charged £8👎 roast beef dinner was lacking any real flavour although cooked very well ,the gravy was just weak bisto , also lacking atmosphere we went for our anniversary and was so disappointed! Over priced , over rated sorry but its the truth ! Would not recommend

Only 3 stars for me, was told a 30 min wait for food, we were ok with that, ordered food and drink. Drinks took 15 mins to arrive, the food was 1 hour with no information provided by staff along the way. The reason for the 3 stars is that the food was very good, but then maybe that’s just because how hungry we were by 3pm! We would expect that at that late in the day the kitchen would have caught up, it was not busy at all.

First off we waited over 15 minutes for drinks as the lady who took our order had forgotten, then we waited 1 hour and ten minutes for our food. Food was ok but the waiting killed the experience. I had chicken ceasar salad but never experienced a full half chicken with bones laid ontop of my lettuce!!! Then my husband heard a couple of the staff moaning about customers!! Sort of an up and down experience which was a shame!

3 decent well-kept ales on draught. Bar interior not cosy with terrible lighting. Didn't try restaurant on this visit, heard good things. Friendly service.
