Nicely welcomed in where we found a lovely pub and setting. Staff were super polite and helpful. Food was good, but not outstanding. Would return but we're visitors!

Stayed at the attached camp site (also excellent). We always dine out on the final night so took advantage of it being right on the door step. Decided to reserve a table and so glad we did. Place was busy, not so busy staff were overwhelmed but a good flow of custom for both food and drinks. Sat down and was soon asked for a drinks order whilst we perused the menu. Menu, good wholesome food, nothing pretentious including a kids menu. Ordered and arrived in good time. Beautiful, tasty and well presented. Attentive, friendly staff who were present without being overbearing. Good number of "locals" in and that for me is another sign that this is a good place. All in all, we'd definitely go back to the site and would definitely eat out more here. All the best for the coming years.

Wouldn't recommend this place one little bit. Landlady mother in law is very rude calling customers KNOBS and swearing in front of customers and children. Complained about food and was spoken to rudely by Landlady and ladyladys mother in law. Half of the menu not available. Very bad experience and clearly the landlady's mother in law in change... stay well cheer of this place !!I

Great food and superb service. Stilton sauce with our steak was fantastic, and clearly made from scratch, which is a great sign. We came here during the England football game due to wanting to get away from the football crowd. There is a TV but not showing footy and no yobbish atmosphere. It's quiet and chilled. Would highly recommend. Only recommendation would be the wine list needs expanding

‘You Fat Sow’ we’re on a list of recommended suppliers for our wedding venue in Bucks and I am SO SO SO pleased that they were. Luke and team catered the entire day from canapés and the wedding breakfast BBQ to evening pizzas and wedges. Luke worked to our budget and requirements. A big thing for us was to have informal food but for it to be delivered to the tables family feast style rather than a self serve buffet. Which I understand was a first for the team! The food was delicious, service was brilliant, and there was a great atmosphere amongst our guests. I would 100% recommend to anyone with a vision for an event that other caterers are not quite getting! Thanks to Luke and team!

Would really like to share this place as is just fantastic, when researching where to go for dinner the other night I found this place and started reading the reviews. After about 3 or 4 reviews reading the words hidden gem I decided for our party of 5 that this is where we were going to go, and I have to say that we were all so glad that this lovely little farmhouse restaurant was the choice I had made. The restaurant itself is really nice and cozy although the main event is the food. It was absolutely fantastic, really generous portions for not too much money. All cooked fresh and really really tasty, A quick mention for the staff who are lovely people and I can't recommend it enough 5☆ from us, we enjoyed it so much that after going for dinner on Monday we are going again on Wednesday 👌

Popped in for a drink today and decided to have some food. Really pleased we did as the meal we had was absolutely delicious can't recommend the mixed grill highly enough and very reasonably priced. Will 100% be returning and dog friendly too

The landlord’s mum and dad were holding the fort while he was on holiday. Wonderful people, so accommodating and so engaging. Nothing was too much trouble. Food looked great & had we not filled up in the day, would definitely have eaten. Highly recommend.

First visit from a friend’s recommendation. Had the Steak and Ale pie and really nice with lovely service and very reasonable prices. What’s not to like and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.If the Steak pie is a 10 then everything else has got to be good

We visited last night (Thursday) and wow…. The lady that greeted us offered us to sit in 3 different locations, we chose the conservatory and we are so glad we did. The view was amazing, she couldn’t have been more attentive to us! Gave us time to choose our meals with a drink. The food was amazing, I personally had chicken wings and lasagna. I had no room for pudding as the portions are more than fair. After we finished our meal there was no rush for us to leave and we sat at the bar for a couple of hours and met the owners Luke and Charley and even got to meet the famous Olivia. I would definitely recommend this venue to anybody in the area…. 5 stars from us 🌟

3 of us went for food here on Sunday 14.04.2024. we had a Sunday roast platter for 3, I highly recommend the roast. Absolutely delicious 😋 the best we've ever eaten out. Staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Looking at the menu there's lots to choose from, we will be eating here again. We've also stopped by for drinks and we've always said what a lovely friendly place is it. I wish the new owners all the best. Keep up the great work and I'm sure this place will be a hidden gem

Booked 3 nights for food with our friends, we all thoroughly enjoyed the meals we had, staff are wonderful, had a great chat with mother and son who run the pub, great atmosphere I think they have a little gem of a place

Unsupervised camp site left to its own devices, toilets disgusting site advertised as having an onsite pub/restaurant……….it got one but it’s been shut since Coastfilelds bought it 6/7 months ago, also advertised Wi-Fi…… has the equipment fitted around the camp but it isn’t turned on. We turned up and had to wait half hour for someone to let us in, woman who gave us the fob didn’t know how to use and drove off,left us to pick our own plot…..police turned up Saturday morning knocking on doors looking for staff members….. Old buildings falling apart with no roof left open for kids to play in!!!! Dog wash was something out of a Vietnamese prison camp, was just an old toilet block with a laminated sign on the door. Couldn’t get gate fob deposits back because site was in manned and wouldn’t pick up the phone.

Restaurant/pub not open/or Nobody was inside

Awful experience, site in the middle of nowhere, can't walk anywhere from it. The caravan site ran like a prison camp, 1 toilet/shower out of 7 open most of the time, pub/restaurant never open. Site fees up from 1500 to 2100 all that for less service and being moaned at every time you pull on to site. Cant have your family staying with you on the seasonal pitcb you pay for unless you pay £32 per person per night (told by the female who smokes too much) 1 star is too much for this place, wouldnt return if it were free.

Booked 4 nights away on a grass touring pitch for my family over the Easter break the pitch was water logged and soon as I drove on the grass our car and caravan started to sink whilst putting the awning up the Owner came over in a very irate manner telling us our car had to be put outside the gate was told they had 24hr security there wasnt any the owner told us they had had 40 days of rain that why we couldt park next to our caravan we was told if we got set there was a £100 charge to be pulled off (inside the gate there was a sign saying £50 tow off fee) when we was leaving I had to ask for my deposit back for the gate key we wasn't the only customers to be treated in this way I wouldn't recommend this site

No food no bar only 2 toilet open

After a couple of months on the site we thought everything was going OK.. The people who run the site are very nice hard working people who keep the site immaculate we get on well with our neighbours but today all that as changed... When we first agreed to sign up for the contract for the season we asked if it was OK if our immediate family... Grown up kids would be able to use the van and we were told that it would not be a problem as long as we gave written consent.. Which we have done... I phoned the site tonight to let them know that my daughter in law and her partner and my granddaughter would be arriving at the site in a couple of hours purely out of courtesy to the people who run the site ... Only to be told that they would be charged £32 per night... Apparently I should have read the small print and not taken people at there word . Obviously I was very upset about this and said that they would not be paying... When they arrived our fob to open the barrier had been cancelled after a phone call and an agreement was made to pay the fee they have now been allowed on site... We will not be staying another season.. There is no reason for this extra payment? There are no facilities on the site other than the toilet and shower room..its a total rip off

Just spent 4 nights on this lovely well kept site. Spotless facilities. Steve and Doe are really helpful and friendly. We will be coming back

Fantastic little gem,we have been calling in this year,they have been great with me being stuck in a wheelchair or scooter,they allow me in where other pubs don't and dog friendly.our Tommy loves it.

We have come to this site and we are absolutely amazed how very helpful the staff do and Steve are .they go above and beyond to help all on site and are truly amazing.we like it so much we are hoping to be staying on a seasonal pitch.the grounds are kept very nice .grass kept lovely and it is so peaceful.we wouldn't wish to be anywhere else. Nothing is too much trouble if you ask for help .do and Steve have helped us with our awning due to my husband and myselfs health not being great.i would highly recommend this site.

Ate here 17th September, with my sister, neice, mum and son and everything was amazing. Large portion sizes, top quality meat and lovely environment. The GM was very professional and welcoming and really went out of his way to accommodate us. Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in skeggie. For the 5 minute drive from Butlins, it's well worth the trip for the superior quality and cheaper meals.

Amazing place. We visited here on our way back to Peterborough. What an absolutely delightful place. The food was freshly cooked to order and you can really taste the difference. The place was clean. Sunni, our waitress and Dan the manager were so very hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble. Please please visit here and experience for your self. You won’t be disappointed. Many thanks Dan and Sunni for all your hard work.

We booked a table here as we were passing through the area, and what a gem of a restaurant we found! You could easily drive past it without noticing it, but that would definitely be your loss. This is a very cosy place, but with an excellent menu and we certainly enjoyed the food. I had a tasty homemade tomato soup starter and an equally delicious hunters chicken with crispy bacon just the way I like it. Even though there was only one chef and one waitress on duty, they provided a speedy service. And even though our waitress, Sunni, was rushed off her feet we never felt overlooked and she happily brought us extra drinks and condiments when we needed them. And we also appreciated the manager, Dan, stopping in to check that we were happy with our meal. A thoroughly enjoyable meal - I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Excellent freshly cooked food. Staff are friendly and professional. Spare ribs were to die for and the cod in smoked bacon was delicious. Dessert was extra special as the chef went out of his way to produce apple crumble for one of our party. We were, kept in formed at all times regarding the time frame of all the freshly cooked dishes. Will be recommending to all our friends and will be going back soon.

Cannot recommend this place enough! We went for afternoon tea - firstly we bought our dog, so despite having already set up inside, they accommodated us outside. They had even got a birthday banner for my partner! They bought an "afternoon tea" plate for my dog and when it started raining helped us inside! The tea was beautiful, the scones, the cakes the salmon sandwiches all perfect, and the tea was kept topped up. Our hosts were amazingly hospitable and I would easily pay double the menu price. We loved our time here and hope we can visit again sometime.

Good food served in a friendly atmosphere

I would highly recommend coming here for the Sunday roast if you are near fantasy island. This place is set in the middle of the countryside with some great views. The restaurant has plenty carpark place and some very friendly staff.

A warm welcome a well stocked bar and a great meal awaits you at this Devine ambient restaurant. Your attentive host Debbie also serves absolutely wonderful afternoon teas - Terribly civilised way of spending time with your friends

Have just attended a wedding reception here.... Lovely, homely environment. Debbie and her team are friendly and amazing hosts! They catered for everyone perfectly and provided a delicious array of food! Credit to Debbie! I would definitely recommend this lovely venue!!

Spent 2 nights on our maiden caravan voyage. The hosts Debbie and Kevin, lovely people, extremely friendly and welcoming, on hand to help when needed. Very quiet site for complete relaxation and dogs welcome. We tasted the delights of the restaurant and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Spent 5 nights at Poplar in our caravan.owners Debbie and Kevin great hosts will sit and chat / drink till you want to go to bed. Did not eat in restaurant but other campers said it was good food.newish site so quite open.Some noise from raceway in the evening but not annoying.

It's a great place for a nice relaxing dinner and friendly service, the food was lovely... You can even bring your caravan to there site that is at the back of the restaurant,

Me, my wife and 2 friends stayed the night in our caravan. The grounds were immaculate, very friendly and helpful staff who are also the owners. Helped us put up our awning up in gale force winds and did a better job than us. Stayed for a Sunday dinner which was superb. Would definitely recommend, and will return.

A wonderful day from start to finish nothing was too much trouble the food was excellent. We felt really welcome and looked after it was our wedding day and it was amazing all our guests had a lovely time thanks to you all will see you again soon and will recommend to all our friends. Great Service and fantastic hosts

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal here when last at the east coast. Fancied something a little better than your usual plastic fantastic pub menu. The quality of the meal was only superseded by the warmth of the host. A truly wonderful night. Will definitely go again when in the area.
