Evening meals are good, breakfast is not

Food was good, had mixed grill, came out on time and was nice, great atmosphere, drinks a good price and great place to come for drinks.

I wouldn’t bother to be honest. We’ve tried breakfast and the normal menu and its disappointing to say the least. Infact, thats an understatement. Food cold, looks like its been thrown up by a cat and then thrown onto the plate, long waits for even the simplest items, even the staff seem to know its naff but kind of have to just deal with it. The pictures i’ve added totalled £5.38, which is cheap yes, but that doesnt mean it should come out cold, barely cooked and be the approximate portion size you would give to a 10 week puppy. PLUS, they were both kids meals and were meant to come with syrup (which didnt arrive) and one kid got 2 waffles while the other got 1 and a half. The drinks are tasteless, the hot chocolate is more like hot water with the faintest hint of chocolate (probably from the sprinkles on top of the cream) I could carry on but i need to go find a proper breakfast somewhere.. TL;DR: avoid if you’re hungry.

Almost everything we wanted they didn't have so had to change and the coffee machine was broken, cold food, but the Staff are lovely and accommodating and the kids love the play centre so it's a shame

Only thing with Sunday dinner, adults could have more. Green beans had hard long end bits still attached. Waited a good while longer for extra gravy. All in all nice

Popped in for some food whilst passing. Ordered a curry and a steak sizzler. The curry was just like a microwave meal, presented poorly. The sizzling steak did not sizzle and the topping was poor. We only ate the food because we were starving. Won't be stopping off here again.

Went to the wacky and ordered food, brilliant and helpful staff couldnt do enough for my children they thoroughly enjoyed would definitely recommend.

Absolutely appalling the service and food the order was wrong when it came back it was cold and soggy the cauliflower cheeses was overcooked and just like slop the gravy was like water no taste at all my partner had Caribbean chicken but they ran out of the sauce bit still brought out the meal without telling us when we should of been offered something else we paid 44 pound was totally dissatisfied with the whole experience we will not be visiting again

We stayed in the motel for 2 nights while attending a concert in Cardiff. The hotel was nice and quiet, the room was clean and tidy including the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the staff on the reception were very welcoming and friendly especially Joanne. We ate in the restaurant on our 1st evening and it was very reasonably priced especially for the potion sizes. Drinks weren't expensive either. It is somewhere we would definitely stay again!

Absolutely disgusting food salad looked as if it was prepped last week all cold chicken on salad was luke warm and tasted as if it was warmed my stupidity I ate half of it but wish I hadn't as by the time I got home was very sick pictures of what was not will not be visiting again. There was one member of staff who was rushed off her feet to the point where we actually helped her to clean up

Hit n miss food and service, if there's any issues they are unwilling to resolve, rude abrupt staff, vacuum cleaning around you.

Me and my partner stopped here after a long day for dinner & were greeted by the amazing waitress called Lisa, she is the most friendliest waitress I have come across in a long time! The whole experience has been amazing and omg what a Assett Lisa is to the establishment! She deserves a reward! Thank you Lisa! We will definitely be back!

The food was cold and the drinks was not nice

Yesterday, my partner and I visited The New Inn for the second time having had a pleasant experience the first. We ordered drinks at the bar and then sat down to order food. We used the Greene King app as I had a Blue Light discount code I wanted to utilise. Our food took longer than normal for a Hungry Horse to arrive but, it did in the end. Sadly, our main course (Crown of Burgers) was not as good as we'd hoped. 2 of the burgers didn't have bacon in as advertised on the menu and the chips were almost cold, however, we persist as we were hungry. We then elected to order dessert. This was ordered on the app at 14:55. By 15:30, they still hadn't arrived. Accompanied by our main course not being to the usual standards, and the length of time it was taking for our dessert to arrive, I elected to complain. I will admit, my tone was one of frustration and dissatisfaction as there were clearly issues in the kitchen, clearly understaffed and in my view, placing too much emphasis on the Wacky Warehouse element of the venue rather than the bread and butter element which is the pub itself. I first of all spoke to a lady behind the bar and stated I wished to speak to the highest ranking member of staff. A lady made herself known and asked if I was ok, I said no not really. I then stated how long we've been waiting for our dessert and her immediate response was have you asked for them I said no I shouldn't have to. I stated that they clearly have issues in their kitchen as our main course left a lot to be desired and now this on top. I was then greeted with the fact that they are extremely busy on their Wacky Warehouse side to which I replied that is not your bread and butter this is given the margins on food and drink which I am fully aware of. I was then told emphatically that I know nothing about that business as I do not work there. I was then for wanting a better expression ganged upon by the three members of staff stood behind the bar rather than dealing with my complaint and trying to calm the situation down they simply escalated it by telling me to mind my tone. At no point did I use foul language or shout but still, I was being reprimand for my tone. I was simply annoyed and disappointed at the high standards I am used to receiving in such a venue and the high standard that I received last time has disappeared beyond all recognition. I will never again set foot in that venue and unless the performance of it increases dramatically I can see other people doing the same. The pub itself was dead for a Thursday afternoon I appreciate it's half-term and therefore a lot of people would be visiting it purely for use of the wacky warehouse to entertain children however this does not excuse the poor level of service received on the day. In addition to this whilst we were eating nobody bothered to come and check if we were satisfied with our food. The Royal Oak, Gloucester is by far a higher standard in all elements and I will be taking my business there in future.

First time visiting here and will certainly be the last. I booked a table online for 2 adults and 2 children in the wacky warehouse area. I was shocked when we arrived to have to pay £10 for the children to play given there was no mention at the time of booking. The play area isn’t very big, quite dark and dingy and smells. It was also very empty which was surprising (or not, now as we have found out) as it’s during the summer hols and it’s raining. Customer service wasn’t the best, I had to find out myself how to order the food and drinks and where the cutlery was. Now the food …. We ordered chicken skewers, chips and corn on the cob. Chicken strips, chips and coleslaw. And 2 pasta bologneise- larger meals for the children. We didn’t have the corn on the cob - coleslaw was sent instead, both coleslaws had no mayo so it was just a small bowl of cabbage etc. The chips were cold. The chicken skewers were slimy. The children’s Bolognese was pretty much just liquid and certainly not a ‘larger’ plate. On the side of the children’s were cucumber - these were all dried out. The only decent thing on all of our food was the chicken strippers. I’ve honestly not had such a bad meal out in a very long time. I’m not one to kick up a fuss over a bad experience as a lot do it just to get money back, I’d rather just give my honest opinion for others to see.

Room was comfy so no complaints there. Was surprised it was attached to a hungry horse not a Greene king pub given it was a GK hotel?

Never had a bad meal here. The halloumi fries are the best! Gammon is beautifully cooked and very good value for money.

Lovely kind lady! Very approachable and nothing was to much of a problem and my kids are wild and needy! This lady deserves a medal!

To be fair to this place is great for kids. Alright the soft play is tired but it feels clean and keeps them entertained. The staff are friendly and attentive which makes up for my next point. The food is abysmal. The wings were dried bones which had no meat left in them and I wouldn't give my dog. The coleslaw was disappointing and the chips were anaemic. Honestly, don't go for the food. But the staff and general vibe is a good summers day.

Went as a pair. My food came out a full 10 minutes after my friends and while it was cheap and the portions were huge, it was not worth the wait at all

10 of us arrived for a birthday get together and some food Monday evening, we honestly wish we hadn't bothered, we didn't expect 5 star food but we certainly expected something warm and value for money, the food was disgusting, the Mac and Cheese was sour the milk or cheese had turned in it, that was returned, the sausages were over cooked and cheap tat, in general it was rubbish, the atmosphere was non existent a really bad experience. Will not return.

Had an amazing couple of hours out with the grandchildren. They had a blast. Loved the balls and tbe slides.

We visited on Tuesday 18th June , Katrina and Ben were fantastic ! They made us feel really welcome with their friendly helpful approach. Could not fault the food, will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone who wishes to eat a nice meal reasonably priced. Well done Katrina and Ben you are two great personalities.

We had dinner and breakfast, both were good, especially considering the price!

Atmosphere was great due to being with family. Waited over an hour for food while the others at our table had been served and finished before ours even came. We saw people served after us given their food before we did. Ordered a kids two scoop ice cream waited 20mins for it. And waited 45 mins for them to clear our main menu plates.
