Food is always good. Never had anything I didn't like. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was great but had to wait ages as they forgot about my order.

Very nice Asian food and served super quick! We had dinner there two times during our stay in Dumfries. We would definitely go back next time

Awful....! One of the worst Chinese meals I've ever had. I ordered a sizzling prawn and squid in a szechuan sauce....bland, chewy, inedible squid....don't bother as I wish I hadn't and plagued with flies the whole time e..!

Ordered a takeaway food was ready in 5 mins which we found strange,, food wasnt nice very bland went in the bin

(Ignore the account user - little one uses this account) Wouldn’t even bother with this restaurant. We ordered salt and chilli ribs - only ate one, was so dry. Crispy duck - was battered, never I’m my life have I heard the likes of battered duck but for what it was worth it was edible. Sizzling beef and black bean - beef wasn’t even cooked properly completely still pale and wasn’t worth touching. Sizzling Chicken satay - sauce was exactly what you’d expect if you watered down satay sauce. Noodles were atleast flavourful and soft same goes for the rice. The price for this was £59. It wasn’t worth it.

From the outside it’s not an attractive looking place and would not know it had a restaurant in the inside if you don’t go in the door. Inside the restaurant it’s quite dull and the furniture is cheap and tired. The giant fish tank with goldfish is a great feature that entertains the kids for hours. Not sure if the fish were mesmerised by the kids or the other way around. Now in stark contrast to the seating area, the food was surprisingly good, tasty and decent portions. The waiters where efficient and friendly. Prices are fairly reasonable for the portions. Will be back for more.

Won tons had nothing in them and were burnt, chow mein bland and burnt. Staff nice and friendly. Shame, usually good. Probably a bad day for the chef heh?

I've been going here since I was 2 days old. Always eat the same thing too. Pancake roll, lemon chicken and fried rice, egg toast. Still delicious almost 3 decades later!

If I could give this place 0 I would. Absolutely awful, service was great but food was bland and flavourless. I asked for half of a roast duck with pancakes etc.. This is what we got it smelt of peanuts which I can't eat 🤬 and was served with carrots cucumber and spring onion ( instead of leak) ive never heard of peanut duck in my life. We also got salt n pepper chicken pieces came with no flavour and too pale not even fried properly and was straps not pieces. Bbq ribs were so dry definitely frozen. Crispy shredded chilli beef. No chilli and wasn't crispy again bland. The only thing that had flavour was the rice and prawn crackers.. not happy £56 straight in the bin even my 8 year old refused to eat it 😷🤮🤬

Had a lovely meal, all the ingredients were fresh and prepared very well indeed. Small but good selection of wines. All round great experience

we are well chuffed with the service tonight we phoned 5 mins after they opened and a good 10mins after that we received our order well happy.

Phoned 20 minutes before google and trip advisor said they close to order, didn’t even manage to say hello before I got told last order is quarter past ten we close at half 10 with a really horrible attitude then was hung up on before I could even apologise and explain! Won’t be going back. You don’t treat paying customers like that... and as a side note maybe update your opening times on google/trip advisor and you won’t get a phone call when your shut for the evening... no need for the attitude at all! Only given one star because I can’t give 0

Awful chinese food. Is it possible to care less about the food you serve? Should have walked out the minute I saw the carpets but we had travelled all day so desperate. But really.

Visited tonight for a takeaway. Chicken fillet Cantonese was basically a tub of liquid with very little chicken, accompanied by a pitiful portion of rice and chips. Dry and tasteless spare ribs and the smallest portion of prawn crackers I've ever been sold! Complete waste of £25. Only visited because Sun Man Chinese was closed. Won't be back again.

Glad we ignored the negative views and gave the restaurant a shot, we ate from the lunch time menu, my partner had beef satay and friend rice, which he said was the best he'd in Dumfries for a while, I had spring roll and vegatable curry, both were delicious, staff were very friendly and attentive, will definitely be back :)

Worst Chinese thought we'd give it a try, so disappointed, won't be back , ordered crispy beef, it was like soup.

ordered sweetcorn soup( watery) wife ordered barbecue ribs (dry) obviously been thrown in fryer frozen,ordered beef with ginger /spring onion , i dont know what it was , meat grey ,tasteless , to be fair did not charge for this meal, fried rice had obviosly warmed in microwave in a bowl as was this shape when presented. overall a terrible meal

Very unhelpful after myself and family was at at a family funeral all day yesterday ordered small meal at 8.15 couldn't deliver till after 10.15 I cancelled so tried today and wont deliver because I cancelled yesterday being to late terrible attitude and service from staff other better take aways no empathy at all

We walked into this restaurant on Sat. 20th April and first impressions were, can we just leave please. We were told by someone who lives in Dumfries that this was probably the best one in town, but as the two of us walked in the number of diners increased by 100%.The carpet is taped together, the wallpaper is peeling in parts and it is generally quite dingy with the obligatory 1970's fish tank taking up one complete wall. The menu I was handed was covered in food, for which the waiter apologised and they did not have the starter that we ordered for which they also apologised.The food when it arrived was generally OK, but the taster plate of Chinese strarters was grossly overpriced for what it contained.Overall, average and would we recommend or return, probably not.

As far as I'm concerned the New Dragon is on of the best Chinese restaurants in the area the food is authentic with great taste and good portions plus great service with willing staff. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our experience of the new dragon. The food was delicious and the staff were superb and very helpful. I would happily go there again. The chicken chow mein was the best meal my wife has had in ages. When I was unsure to have chicken or beef the staff member said why don't we make you both! Loved it. Thanks a lot.

I live just outside of terregles and have ordered multiple times from this Chinese. Just tried ordering from here to be told "naw I'll no deliver out there" yous have delivered here on multiple occasions in the past. No need for the abruptness. All good though won't be back

Was a bit worried when we walked in here on a Monday night - the 2 of us doubled the number of dinners! Relieved when a few more arrived.Restaurant is a bit tired but the staff were very friendly and the food was nice and reasonably priced

Went today 06/06/18 as I,ve tried to go few times but always to late . So today we went for lunch before we went next door for haircut. Place lovely and clean . Staff friendly enough . I had chicken noodle soup it was ok cud do with more seasoning, wife had prawn cocktail lovely big prawns but lettuce looked a bit past it. Sweet and sour chicken best I,ve tasted in ages . Proper batter round the chicken (hate going to Chinese/fish and chip shops as they use same batter for both and it's quite different batter shud be used) 5 huge pieces lovely fat chips and loads of egg fried rice. Wife had chicken curry smelt lovely she had egg fried rice to and she enjoyed it very much. Banana fritters very good and it's so cheap £6 for a three course lunch can't complain definitely be back.

A well established Chinese restaurant with achoice of either sitting or telephone deliveries. Great choice on the menu and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal from here. Delivery is normally pretty quick but, more importantly, still warm!!! Staff are very friendly as well.

Might be the best in Dumfries but will NEVER use it again. Shame really as have used this restaurant for over 30 years.Ordered over the phone was told 40 mins, called 1 hour after order to be told my food wasn’t cooked yet and was told another 15-20 mins. Only a simple sorry was given as it was no problem.Called back cancelled order and was told thanks.As I said it is the best in town but a small/tiny matter like this will make me never use it again.

THE WORST CHINESE TAKE AWAY I.E STAY AWAY.i had to put a star to make this comment or,basicaly no stars.i order a crispy or peaking duck,with the normal extras.To find not duck.but huh Alf breadcrumbs to cover 95% skin,not remotely as duck,and unusual smell.i feel sick writing this . I will NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN.AND PLEASE NO SEGULL JOKES.ILL CHUCK.I MAY BELEIVE THATIT WAS.🤢🤢🤢🤢

Nicest chicken with ginger and spring onion i have tasted (and i've tasted quite a few). Was there with five other people who all enjoyed their meals as well. Would have given 5 stars but my boiled rice and my wifes chips could have been better.

Regular customer to this Chinese, we usually do take away but have sat in a few times. The food is always fresh, tasty and burning hot so what more could you ask for? Recommend - beef chow mein, chicken Cantonese and Peking beef

A very varied Menu, as to be expected from the Chinese and the food was served in more than ample portions to satisfy any appertite. The Restaurant itself was brightly decorated, spotless and the Service second to none.
