The New Dog & Gun Apperley Bridge in Bradford

Good old-fashioned locals pub. Always has a couple of real ales on the pumps. The Rev James was very good. Also a large beer garden out the back of the pub. With under cover seating and out in the open seating nice little sun trap. Well worth a visit if you're passing.

Top staff great atmosphere. Kids love going after football and bar staff are great with them. Always made to feel welcome, has all the sports showing when you need it. All round one of the best for a pint, catchup and sports

A nice local pub with a good range of beers on top. No food service, but it was busy and had a great atmosphere. Clean and tidy too. We were enjoying the sunshine in their beer garden.

No hot water for handwashing, otherwise it was OK.

Didn't eat & Didn't enquire if they do food . Welcoming lady behind the bar who was attentive with a smile ,well-kept, real ale & nice atmosphere it was really busy for a Sunday, but I managed to get a seat. Sky sport l on if you want to watch it , I noticed the outside had a nice seating area. It will be great to sit outside in the spring /summer months .

We went on New Years Eve, it was rather busy but the staff were great. No hanging around tge bar for too long, tables cleared away when needed. Friendly customers all round a lovely place 😊 We'll be back.

Called in this afteroon for late lunch, early tea. I had steak and Guinness pie which was very filling. And a nice pint of Tymothy Taylors Landlord. The staff were very friendly and I highly reccommend this pub. It was fairly quiet but the regulars were very friendly.

Hadn't been in since the pub had changed management. It was not very appealing in the past. Thought we'd give it another chance. Not alot has changed. The cask ale (Timothy Taylor landlord) was quite flat. Poor. Person on bar was stressed out as there was an issue with till. She was quite abrupt and rude. Its not the ot the customer's fault! Failed customer service! She needs some training on coping with these situations. We won't be rushing back. Two positive consolations 1) nice beer garden 2) dog friendly. We didn't eat but had atmosphere been different we may have! It's in an area where there is potential for it to be a booming business especially in summer months. It's close to canal with walkers, cyclists, barges (holiday makers) and a marina, there's a couple of new housing estates. Need to work on ambience and giving a warm welcome, better staff attitudes and marketing around the canal bank/marina. Felt the clientele were regulars but not many! We got the feeling we were sat at someone's table! If looks could kill. Needs a more cheery welcoming atmosphere.

This was our regular pub since 2012 and we've seen three ownership changes. It's now owned by a chain that fully refurbished the pub and recently introduced food service. Unfortunately the chain relies on staff rotation surfing between their pubs and when we visited were indifferent 😐 We ordered two Sunday roasts that were tasty but failed to properly enjoy it due to lack of friendly service and the fact that I had to dine sit on an uncomfortable stool 😕 I hope that the core value of the pub friendly local service returns to allow us to visit again.

A proper pub with very good ale.

Tried out the new menu today, steak and Guinness pie was delicious as was the rump steak and onion ciabatta sandwich. Good portions and well presented, will definitely be back.

Haven't been to the Dog and Gun just looked to see where it was . Found out that it's closed anyway for refurbishment inside and out . I take that back it is actually open now .

Came here to have a drink and not eat, very small bar area, populated by lots of men stood round the bar with not much room to move, decent selection of beers, just a bit small, especially when men with dogs are stood at the bar constantly. Update, came midweek, very quiet and nice seating to watch football, upgraded a star

Healthy portions of a very tasty Sunday roast, never seen such big, light & fluffy Yorkshire puds! Enjoyed the friendly & attentive service. No coffee for afters, but grateful to be served tea to go with our birthday cake! Thanks for making room for us at short notice ! 😍

Called in Saturday night at about 10 o'clock and tbh it was a bit odd , the pub was empty and the beer served was sour but this was rectified so we stayed for a couple....

Loved our visits this weekend. The atmosphere is back. Glad the new land lady is there and making it a good place to visit will definitely be back.

Fabulous pub, much different to the lay out years ago. Have eaten here in the past, brilliant! Must do so again.

Dropped in here on the way back from dropping my son at the airport. It has a lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff. It was really busy but they managed to squeeze us in for a meal. Food was good we will be back!

Quality of beer is hit and miss, was off last time. Toilets are very unclean.

They were having a whole summery outdoor bbq, rum shack, DJ with Ibiza-esque feel. We sat on the grass in glorious sunshine and rum.

Lovely well cooked food, the only draw back is it has quite a small menu but the overall charm and quirkiness of the building and the lively hospitable staff are a fair trade so a small menu
