Was ok no food on offer but they did catterring from their sister pub a short distance away food took forever to come and was small portions but expensive price! Drinks where fairly cheap and service was polite just a fairly normal pub nothing special

Fantastic little sports and live music venue with outdoor seating. Friendly staff and reasonable drinks. Always has nights, live music and food concessions so check the Facebook page for more info. RECOMMEND 5*

A friendly welcome awaits you at The Birches. Little details like dog beds and Connect4 games available for customers are a plus. Big TV screens for sports events. Decorated for St Patrick's Day, although it coincided with Ireland in the Six Nations final too 👍Support your local pub. Use it or lose it.

Amazing transformation of a tired insular bar, into a vibrant, busy hotbed of local community activity . Quality ales, great service, dog friendly… with families ( with their kids) enjoying the efforts of the couple who had the foresight to make this the place to be. Stunning 👌👏👏👏

I cannot fault the transformation of this venue, Great range of ales that have just received the 5* Cask Marque inspection. Staff are great and they have live sport as required. Very children/dog friendly as well.

The pub is located in the centre of Eldwick and has recently been refurbushed. All the staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful. It is also very dog friendly with free treats by the door. It shows sports on two large TVs (with the sound off) however it doesn't do any food other than crisps. After 9pm no under 18s are allowed due to their license.

A complete refit with amazing wooden bar and tables, toilets completely redone too and atmosphere is buzzing. Such a different experience to before and a credit to new owners and to new manager Adam. Back in tomorrow!

Went here for the 1st time late this aft. Weird place devoid of any character. Sat down to enjoy a pint of very decent ale but then the staff decided to test an alarm system for the duration of our visit!?

They have beer by Ilkley Brewery and one called Mary Jane, both of which are very nice and priced around the £3.50 mark. They also have Sky Sports, which is a major plus for footy fans. The interior is dated but comfortable. Its a small pub but there's plenty of seating and tables, along with some seating outside too. There's a car park, which I don't think is strictly for pub patrons but I can't see anyone arguing with you about it, unless of course there's a function going on in the hall at the side of the pub. The main thing letting the pub down is the miserable demeanour of the staff. Subjective opinion I know, but one shared by all the people I know who have been there. If they were just a bit friendlier and welcoming it would feel like a 100% improvement. Hasn't stopped me from going in, mind...

Good old-fashioned locals pub. Always has a couple of real ales on the pumps. The Rev James was very good. Also a large beer garden out the back of the pub. With under cover seating and out in the open seating nice little sun trap. Well worth a visit if you're passing.

I ordered 2 whole peri peri chickens, waited over 45 minutes for the order. And when I got home the chickens tasted disgusting, they were off. It wasn't edible. Absolutely terrible! I ordered the day before and it was fine, but this time they served me old chicken that had gone off. You'd expect better after waiting for so long for an order. Very disappointing.

Service, service, service, still the best early doors venue, a tad biased towards weekend sport but still friendly and customer focused, recommended.
