Amazing decor and scenery. Had a fabulous 3 course meal with friends. Canapés in the cocktail bar first and finished with coffee and petit fours. All dishes were really lovely and so nicely presented

We went for a ‘Tea’ costing £55 each and dressed accordingly as requested. We were shown to our table by an attractive young lady in what appeared to be tight jeans . The table was set with a plain white cloth and white crockery which can be found everywhere. The table was not large enough to take individual teapots for the various teas offered. The scones were put on the window seat. The table was set with a knife and fork. Not a cake fork! The equivalent of one round of cheap finger sandwiches, one cucumber, one egg, one ham one Salmon. Cakes, one was a chocolate profiterole. We were given one small plate for everything, this is not good enough. This was not what I expected for a special Art Deco Tea costing £55.

Open to those who come across from the mainland via sand (at low tide) or the sea tractor it provides a nice stopping point for a drink for those walking around the island or enjoying the beach. I cannot comment on the food as we bdid not eat there. Note that if you want to drink outside they will be served in plastic glasses for which there is a £2 returnable deposit.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant and can honestly say it was outstanding. The food was delicious and the standard of presentation and service was second to none. Dinner in the evening was amazing fine dining prepared by wonderful chefs who really know how to please their guests. A beautiful experience

Absolutely first class - the highlight being a local lobster. The tables are nicely spaced and a size that means you are not squashed in... all very nice

A perfect place to relax with amazing fresh meal to enjoy, we chose to sit and enjoy the view outside. Staff you can not fault as they work with Covid restrictions and very helpful whilst we all get used to the rules. So you park at pay and display and enjoy wonder on to lovely beach where we spent loads of time before walking across the sand to the island. You walk up slope and then have to wait to be seated. Lots people after us had to wait but people would queue and after our meal and drinks you can see why!!! Will be back for more the beach and food, only issue I can see is due to new rules this means they have reduced tables so try aim to go when it’s quiet.

As part of a birthday celebration, which involved a stay at the Burgh Island Hotel, my family and I had a lovely afternoon tea in the hotel's Netlefold restaurant. We though it was a really nice take on the traditional afternoon tea. Some quite adventurous sandwiches and delicious cakes. I managed to polish off my share, but my wife and daughter fell at the last hurdle and had to leave a scone untouched, so I think the portions sizes were pretty good. We were seated in the Captains Cabin, which was salvaged from HMS Ganges some time in the 1930s and added to the hotel. A quirky, but very comfortable setting, with views across the bay. The main restaurant is very bright and airy and also has a terrace which is very popular. Well worth a visit, just for the location alone, but the afternoon tea and cocktails top it off nicely.

Really nice historic, family run pub in the quietest little village. Really good food every time (especially Toms chips!) Stayed the night and had such a good sleep, woke up to the birds and a sunrise too! Ring ahead if you're unsure of times or what's on the menu, everyone's super friendly. Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone!

What a great find, the tapas was fantastic! We ordered 3 vegetarian dishes each and that was plenty to share between us. We have a very good tapas restaurant where we live, so it was interesting to compare. There was a good mix of dishes we recognised and ones that were completely new to us. And who knew that cabbage could be so amazing as a tapas dish (Burnt Hisbi Cabbage)? It was a fabulous flavoursome meal from first bite to last!

We come down to the Salcombe area each year and stayed in East Prawle two years ago. One of the biggest draws back to this lovely village for us this year was the Piglet Cafe. The food is excellent and the service is, without fail, friendly and welcoming. We had our one year old and Labrador with us this year and could not have been made to feel more welcome. We had breakfast every morning (amazing!) and a couple of other meals which were also lovely. Homemade, tasty, good quality food. Thank you to Julie and the rest of the Piglet Cafe team.

Lovely little in very welcoming from staff and locals very popular for food even as it's down country lanes and right on the sea. We stayed few doors away so very convenient. Had drinks most night and are in once. Weekends have singers

We went to the Imperial for a birthday meal. We arrived, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming, and polite. They sorted out drinks and showed us to our table. I don’t think we even looked at the menu. We were drawn to their specials board, where I think this pub makes such a difference. We went when they had burgers on special offer, and my goodness, they were out of this world. There’s no chance you could eat them with your hands. Decent portions and quality food. The pub was very busy inside and out, but they didn’t let their service drop. A spot-on little pub with huge character. Highly recommended to anyone wanting simple but spot-on pub grub.
