The Nazar Lounge in Bedford

Thought we would try the lunchtime menu for a change and wasn't disappointed. Great menu choices reasonable prices fantastic fresh food and the service was as always 1st class nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend Nazar lounge if you want a tasty authentic Turkish meal in Bedford at any time of day A +++++++

Service was not good. Staff got our order wrong and didn't know the cocktail menu.

Just been for a lunchtime deal. What amazing value recommend to anyone. £11 for starter and main course and it was very good food. I had lamb steak skewered and my wife lamb shank. Delicious 😋

Visited here a couple of times for lunch, each time the service was excellent and a great atmosphere. The lunch menu is not as extensive as the full evening menu, but it has a good choice and the price is very reasonable. I look forward to my next visit

Nazar is a lovely lounge in the usually lively High Street area and it does impress you with a fine interior decor and the ambience. But what's interesting is the authentic Turkish menu and if you haven't yet tried much of it, picking a dish can be quite tricky. We ordered a family platter and got a lot of items in it, including starters which were lovely, and something new for the tastebuds. The main course in the platter you get is really tasty and quite heavy as well ; more than five people can eat it easily. The food is flavorful, making it tastier with each bite. Note that it is one of those fine lounges so it is a little bit pricey.

We love this restaurant, The owner is a great host. Food is always fresh and exceptional.

A very poor takeaway experience. Pictures says it all. Edit: Nazar kitchen, I appreciate your reply. However it is concerning and upsetting to hear that the portion sizes shown are correct. The Lamb Humus dish, had perhaps one tablespoon of humus, and the salad, along with being a very small portion, was missing the pomegranate dressing. It is a great shame as I have eaten in and had takeaway from you many times in the past. If you stand by that these are the new portion sizes, then perhaps I'll be headed somewhere else in town next time.

What a wonderful night! The food was everything and more! Saucy, grilled and delicious. Hits all the tastebuds! Such friendly staff and beautiful decor. Will defo be coming back :)

Myself and my friends have been regular customers of Nazar for over a year now and I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough! The staff at Nazar are great, particularly Ozzy. He always makes us feel welcome and his customer service skills are great! The food is always excellent and I think the lad doing the card tricks is an excellent edition to an already great dining experience!

The Nazar Lounge Bedford October 2024 Very bad experience in this Turkish cuisine restaurant. Very high prices: a single dish consisting of 5 strips of chicken with a bit of mixed inastala and a spoonful of sauce cost 20 pounds each, around 25 euros! There were 6 of us at the table and out of six orders they got two wrong, one of which the waiter arrogantly claimed was right. After asking for the menu for comparison, he realized his mistake and remade the dish, making everyone who had already been served wait ten minutes. To the final bill, around 180 euros of which 6 shameful minimal dishes based on chicken strips, two beers, three cokes, two liters of water, 1 dessert and 1 coffee, they added 18 pounds for the gold tip decided without our consent . Unfortunately my friend who paid only noticed when we left. Absolutely avoid!

I had a lovely meal here, it was amazing but the manager was very rude he basically took our food away with out asking if we were done,then he came over and asked us to leave the table as we were talking he came up and said you have to go,I was shocked nice food but the manners there were bad

Hubby and I absolutely love The Nazar Lounge!! The staff were efficient and friendly. The restaurant was bright and elegant. We ordered the hot meza plate, mixed grill, and sarma lamb beyti. All our dishes were delicious!! We will definitely go back again before we leave.

The deliveroo prices for this place are nuts - £27 for a single 'mixed grill' which came in a tiny box. What a scam

I visited the other day and they had great food and a nice interior. Waiters were also friendly and very helpful however the way they get treated is absolutely appalling by management and completely ruins the atmosphere as I do not want to be dining in this environment. It is always different employees serving me as no one wants to stay. I saw plenty of other reviews agreeing with me claiming that the establishment values money over their customers and own employees and how the boss is ill-mannered and greedy. It is such a shame as it is a nice place. I will return when they learn how to treat people fairly and with basic respect !!!

Fantastic service team, warm welcome from the moment we entered. This makes our experience all the more special when small touches like opening the door and immediate smiles are readily provided. The decor is special, gorgeous setting. And wow, the food was just incredibly tasty - grill meats are served tender and juicy, and they also served the best Ali Nazak I’ve ever had! Perfect for date nights, family get togethers etc - service is efficient and they’ll serve at your pace. Reading other reviews - we were not rushed at all. If you need more time, just ask. Went away to Bedford for a bank holiday weekend and was looking for some food to eat. Came across this restaurant and was blown away with the great hospitality from the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing and my guy ozzy was an excellent staff member. Me and my wife got a small platter to share (Ozzy’s recommendation) and boy was it tasty. The meat was soft and succulent. It was also tender and not over powered with salt like other Turkish restaurants. Definitely a place to visit if you’re in the area. I’ll even say to people that are reading this, I’ll drive down from London, Tottenham just to come eat here again. Keep up the great food. This restaurant has got my respect

Such a disappointment. Went in for the lunch deal. Ordered starters and mains. Before we had even finished our starters the young waitress brought our mains. We asked why are they here already and she just walked off. The food was not what was stated on the menu and the food was inedible due to them giving us food we are allergic to. They recooked one of the dishes and refused to reheat the other dinner due to it being cold. We asked for a discount due to the errors and they took 30 mins to respond with a flat out no. Never going back there again!

On first impression, music playing lovely ambiance, table service so quick, but a little too quick , no time to choose drink of choice. Ordered drinks ok. Orderd starters i orderderd a cold starter that should have had grilled aubergine and yoghurt no sign of an aubergine, asked for bread to soak up yoghurt, never came as the were too busy trying to fill tables to compasity . Main course was a wait but thats fine. Lovely place , but need calm down service. Felt really rushed . But staff are amazing ...guys stop rushing people.. x

We headed down to Nazar tonight to meet up with some friends. We absolutely love the atmosphere, lively and fun without being overbearing. The food is delicious traditional Turkish and full of flavour. Can't wait to head back to try the lunchtime deal.

Everything was good, service was good, food was good, they were generous with the bread which had the scent of the grill, mezzo was tasty, the only slight criticism I have is that I felt that £6.95 for a glass of beer was somewhat expensive. Otherwise, very good.

We were staying in the area last weekend and chose this restaurant close to our hotel - so glad we did!! The food was superb and service and atmosphere was excellent. All the staff looked after the 4 of us so well and we felt very welcome. Food was exceptional - we haven't stopped talking about it since!!! Genuinely one of the best meals out we have had in a very long time. If you are in the area this is a "must visit" restaurant!!

My first visit to Nazar, I was with a large group for a retirement party. We were at the back of the restaurant in a private area, perfect for a large gathering. The staff were friendly and attentive, great to see the chefs cooking in the open kitchen. The food and drinks came quickly. We had a fantastic meal, I had yoghurt chicken, absolutely delicious 😋 generous portions, Turkish tea and coffee to finish the meal. We had brought our own celebration cake. The restaurant was spotless, chairs very comfortable. Will definitely visit again ☺️

Lovely welcome lovely decor a real hidden gem. With a lot of shish restaurants and takeaways it's very hard for these restaurants to really stand out from the rest. The Nazar Lounge really does stand out. Lovely decor and my partner and myself had a very warm welcome. It was quiet and the service was great perfect for a Sunday lunch. The lamb shish is the best lamb I've had melt in the mouth stuff

Wow, by chance, we walked into Nazar Lounge a few weeks ago on a Sunday. It was our first time in a Turkish restaurant and we were thoroughly impressed with our evening. The food was excellent quality, well presented, tasty and plentiful. The staff and management were very helpful and friendly, Ozzy was a charm!! The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, plenty of space between tables so you didnt feel crowded.the complimentary schnapps was a bonus, so thank you.Next time we're in Bedford we will certainly visit again.

Although it appeared the delivery was made early, the expected time for delivery kept changing (becoming delayed) after the order. In the end it was not as delayed as indicated and the food was good.

The welcome we experienced at the Nazar lounge was exceptional, providing us with an absolutely brilliant Sunday evening meal. We enjoyed trying foods that are new to us, along with dishes with which we're more familiar. The lamb and chicken were gently spiced and tender, the lamb's liver starter an inventive take on an old favourite, the salads were freshly prepared rather than dished out of a packet and the portion size generous. The staff are to be commended on their helpful, friendly approach - their pace of work was discreetly purposeful and it was clear their aim was to make sure our evening was the best it can be. I'm so jealous of people who live nearby - for us this was a first visit but we hope to be back. Congratulations to all, behind the scenes and front of house.

The best restaurant in Bedford!

Fast and friendly service nice and clean surroundings, some of the best garlic and chilli prawns and the kleftiko was fab but only one criticism it came with mash and carrots and was expecting Mediterranean vegetables ie pepper and onions tomatoes I will definitely be back and recommend

The meals and appetizers were both very diverse and delicious. Me and my wife have a gourmet palate and this place offered us an oasis from heaven ❤️ This will be the only place we will go to when we come to Bedford every week. (I think it should get a Michelin star) the food is great, the ambience of the place is great and we would also like to thank the staff, they were very attentive, especially Ozzy, he made us feel like at home. Our son gave an arrow 👍👍

My friend and i decided to go out for a nice meal. So we decided to visit Nazar due to their beautiful interior decor, silly reason i know. I regret it now looking back. I have been to various Turkish resturant and this is the worst of them all. Food was bland, soggy rice etc, My friend spent the evening in the toilet from the mixed grill she had. I am glad we ordered different food, I would have suffered too. The service was nothing to write home about either. I do not recommend this place. Absolute joke.

I was with my friend today for lunch here.The food was disgusting.We ordered lamb ribs and was very oily. My friend ordered chicken shish for takeaway and they didn’t put salad or any sauce just chips and two small pieces of bread. The service wasn’t so good and they even charged us £9 for the service. So disappointed

Absolutely 5 star all the way!! What can I say Levent you made it fabulous for Rene'e Christening family gathering on Sunday 21st April. To be let down at the last minute by the Kingfisher Hotel 4 days before event which was all paid for in Feb, to be told its been doubled booked!! Was devastating I was heart broken and beside myself what to do. "But when calling up Nazar lounge to see if you can cater last minute for 18 family members" Ozzy you was my Angel 😇 I must say as the manager you took control and made me feel 💯 better, when you said don't worry we will make it happen. And you went above and beyond for Rene'e Christening Event with seating and the arrangements with Balloons Cakes and the whole layout. The food was Exceptional my family enjoyed absolutely everything. Atmosphere was brilliant fabulous day. You truly made my Granddaughters day a very Special one.!! Beautiful restaurant, comfy chairs, good vibe great service, and delicious food. The staff were super welcoming and kind. I had the baba ganoush, (the bread that came with it was lightly grilled on the charcoal grill which made it soooo good), the grilled halumi with spicy Turkish sausage (if you like spicy ask for their home made chilli sauce), rack of lamb. That charcoal grill flavour just can’t be beat and the meat was super tender. I finished it off with an amazing pistachio cake. I will definitely be returning before my trip is done.

First time dining here yesterday. Food is amazing, service impeccable and portions are reasonable. I’m from Birmingham so will definitely be coming back. Ozzy was our host, fab guy so polite and recommended the best!

My 2nd meal here and it was even better than the first. I had a meat platter and it was out of this world. I visited with my daughters and they loved their choices, a chicken and lamb combo and sebzelic guvec, both said they were full of flavour and loved evey mouthful. All for great value too. The waiter Ozzy is on another level, super friendly, helpful and smiling the whole time, making the evening even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and will 100% be back soon.

We plumbed for a selection of firm favourites and also received complementary side dishes. Tender lamb & chicken and creamy hummus.
