The Nab Bar & Restaurant in Isle of Wight

This is the second year we’ve visited Whitecliff bay. Both times we’ve eaten at the Nab bar. In 2022 it was lovely enough that we booked again. The Nab bar was our main reason for booking again. This year was even better. We visited with our 6 year old who is non verbal and severely autistic. On top of this he is now Gluten free. Ben was so understanding and helpful. He made sure we had a fantastic time. There are few places that I could say are genuinely welcoming to a challenging child like ours, the nab bar 100% is. The food is nice pub grub. It’s all cooked well and it all tastes nice. I saw some reviews about them running out of fish, we had the fish and chips and it’s clearly fresh so I’m not surprised they run out sometimes. The place is modern, clean and tidy. The staff really made this trip for me and we will definitely be back next year :)

Decided to have dinner after checking in to our fabulous Lodge at White cliffs. Good Portions and food tasted nice. Staff were very friendly. Did seem a bit overpriced. However we enjoyed the meal after a long day of travelling

Nice warm, well decorated restaurant with friendly staff. Had an ok hunters chicken & fajitas & the kids had nuggets although service was great.

During my visit to the Away Resorts park with my family we I stopped in at The Nab Bar for a meal, sadly the food was not to our liking by my wife and I which meant the feedback to our waitress would not be great. Although the feedback was not great I must say the way the staff dealt with the matter and handled the situation was fantastic. I must give a shout out to Daiana, Toby & Reece their teamwork and professionalism is second to none. Great work peeps

We ate here on our first night - I wish we hadn’t! Service was very slow and it wasn’t clear whether it was table service or not, seemed to be a bit in between. We didn’t even have all the menus available on the table, and the 2 courses for £15 menu wasn’t even mentioned to us. No high chairs were available, seems they only have.a few, not ideal especially as this is a family holiday park. Our meals were okay, overpriced. But average, the kids meals were awful. The veg sticks looked like the leftovers from cut up veg/fruit had just been flung on the plate, the kids beef burger was just a burnt piece of cardboard that couldn’t be eaten. Staff weren’t around to mention this too although would we like to order something else was mentioned. Went to pay, raised again about the burger, no apology to begin with and just a passing comment of mentioning it to the kitchen. To top it off, the staff had also been telling people the shop closed at 6 when a few tables asked - which is not the case during summer! Definitely won’t be eating here again!

Food is good value. Drinks are fairly standard in variety and price. It is table service if eating in, but not if eating out, but nowhere is this mentioned that we could see.

Friendly fantastic atmosphere and food to die for. We experienced eating in and take away to our caravan cannot fault any of the food so tasty. All staff members very friendly which helps make the holiday extra special. From pizza to fish and chips all delicious and the kids certainly enjoyed the deserts as much as the adults. Well done to you all your doing a amazing job

Nice bar serving pub food. Pub prices. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. All Away resorts seem to use exact menus so you can the same food whichever away resorts you go to.

The food wasnt good. The kids meal had about 5 chips on the plate, the chicken nuggets were hard. Adults meals didn't fare much better. Very small portions and what was there was dry. It came very quick, not sure how that happened as there were 9 of us, feels like it might have mostly been previously cooked and just reheated. Way too expensive for what was served. Limited menu, not the one that's on the website which was disappointing as it was mostly burgers and we didn't fancy that much. As it was late and there were no other food outlets we had to go along with it but as soon as the food came out we wished we had ordered a take away. Also drinks very expensive! Probably the most expensive drinks we have found at a holiday park. The only good thing was the service, the staff working there were very nice and helpful. We wouldn't eat in the Nab bar again.

This bar is great for a family to visit, there is a good burger menu and the staff are helpful. The kids menu and pricing is very good and the kids loved the deserts. There were some issues with the adults food and some more non burger options would be welcome.

Friends and I stayed at Whitecliff Bay to celebrate my husbands birthday. I had been in correspondence with the Manager Gary prior to our trip, and whilst advanced bookings are not possible at present, he was accommodating, professional and communication was excellent. 21 members of our party had a fantastic evening meal, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Thank you Gary and your wonderful team!

After looking forward to seeing the changes made to this restaurant, was extremely disappointed to be received by a very unpleasant woman serving and the vastly reduced menu for the entire week of our stay.

We have stayed at Whitecliff Bay over the last week and went to the Nab Bar last Sunday night for our evening meal. The first thing we noticed was the the decor which is really nice with a nautical theme. Our waitress Treacy was pleasant and served us quickly and with a friendly demeanour. We all had varying burgers and they were very tasty with decent portions. The choice of drinks from the bar was plentiful. Price wise it was very reasonable. We also had breakfast on Thursday morning and went for opening time. Soon after we were seated we noticed how busy it was however as it was a nice morning there was plenty of space for people to sit outside too. We had the traditional English breakfast in either normal guise or vegetarian guise and again everyone enjoyed what they had. Overall a nice restaurant and will go again the next time we are in the IOW.

we wandered across from the touring part of the park to show our friends the facilities, it was a hot sunny afternoon so we decided to sit outside the nab bar and have a drink, we ordered seperately it was table service only and the service was speedy enough with a very friendly young lady , we ordered a latte for my hubby and a orange tango for myself, all ok until it came to pay it cost £6-15 that's right , our friends had 2 coffees at almost £6 and a coffee + tea again at almost £6, we were a bit shocked at the prices , needless to say we didn't return there.

i had a really nice food and service the people are really friendly the kid sizes are good for children

Have always used this bar for years while walking on the costal path. This time was told by a very rude member of staff that it is now only open to people staying at whitecliffe bay holiday park. Counted five people sat in the bar as we were being ushered away, what a shame used to be such a great bar.

Nice food on both occasions. The staff were clearly targeted to push drinks, we were never asked how the meal was but constantly asked if we wanted more drinks

The pizza was amazing, so yummy Ham and Pineapple all the way.. Breakfast was nice a bit pricey but delicous.

Stayed for 4 nights at Whitecliff bay and found this great place amazing views out to sea really good food and super staff big shout out to Tommy, Courteney and Lottie who was super helpful and friendlyPlus outdoor cinema at the time super night watching cars with my girls

We had the full English breakfast. The sausage and bacon were nearly raw, not browned and very pink inside. We did mention to the waitress who’s English was not very good who just smiled and said ‘yes yes’ it was the first and last meal we had at the nab. Would not recommend for breakfast.

Stay at Whitecliff Bay often - the staff are so friendly at The Nab Bar, especially Zak, lovely guy. He couldn't do enough for us, even our 2 dogs, who adore him. Really nice place to eat. Food really good quality and good value for money. Views are amazing too - bonus! Thanks Zak - you're a star !!

Used the nab bar every day on our 5 day stay at whitecliff bay.The food was good and reasonably priced. Was good to see that they were taking extra cleaning due to covid..The staff were all using face masks or visors.and all tables were set over 2 meters apart. The staff ,as busy as they were, still made plenty time to make us feel welcome and to ask us if we were enjoying our stay. Special mention to Gary who was lovely and Ben who took our order and looked after us.

We were staying at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park and visited for early evening drinks and a meal. There is a beautiful terrace area with fixed seating which was also dog friendly. The was really good Covid precautions with a single entrance and one way system. Tables were regularly cleaned and well spaced. You could order from a kiosk and food and drink was delivered to your table. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and wearing PPE. I had a burger which was delicious. My fellow diners enjoyed the fish and chips. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Just check age of kid for potion size, our 5 year old wasted too much good food Quick service, food was lovely fresh and hot

Ate here 2 nights in a row, firstly staff were outstanding and a credit to whitecliff! Tables clean and tidy, toilets and amenities also very clean.Secondly we had 4/5 meals, all really good, good value, good size. Kids loved their meal deals. Chocolate brownie with fruit and icecream was lovely. Highly recommend the veggie mushroom linguine!!. Really unable to fault the evening. The only thing i would recommend, is advertise the menu in the caravan packs you give out, any offers the nab bar are doing that week, there was a offer on tuesday for buy1 get1 free on burgers, but we did not see advert at nab bar until wed, perhaps think of vouchers to encourage visitors. We would def ate on tuesday as well if we knew about the deal.So i would personally have a night off from cooking and eat at the Nab bar.

Had a meal with the family good food at a reasonable price,would recommend to anyone.very handy for swimming pool.

Spent 3 nights at Whitecliff Bay and chose half board. Whitecliff Bay breakfast substantial and well cooked, set me up for the day. Good choice of meals in the evening and had enjoyable meals every evening. Decent pub-type food.

This bar is friendly and has a lovely view. The food is pretty good bar food and fairly reasonably priced. Nothing amazing but a good solid option.

Service was fine , but food wasn’t nice. £11 for a goodfellas frozen pizza !! I guess the location is ok if you’re on site and can’t get anywhere .

My partner and I ate here at the weekend. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and really accommodating. We ordered two cooked breakfasts and they were both great. Best vegetarian breakfast I have had. All the staff on the campsite were great , we will go back.

All i can say is don’t eat here it’s dreadful we read the reviews thought we’d at least try it as we were staying on the site . Sadly it’s grim the food is beyond shambolic how the management allow it is beyond me .the rest of the site however is first class

Whitecliff bay is a fantastic site the big let down is the Nab bar the service is shocking with a very long wait so long people give up and claim there money back when the food does arrive it’s rubbish come on whitecliff sort it out it lets the place down

Clean and spacious with a lovely view of the pool and beach. Staff polite and friendly. Food very basic (weatherpoons style)

Great meals we had in here and the staff were all so friendly and the surroundings were relaxed and good space

We were hungry and needed to feed the kids so we ate here. The food was fine, expensive but it's a holiday park do we expected such. The portions were big enough and the staff were super friendly.

Staff really friendly and food was good, however for a table of 4, 2 meals come out quite a considerable time before the other 2. The last 2 dishes brought out were the same - salmon and king prawn linguine and one portion was a much larger size and worth the £10.95 charge, however the other was much smaller with not much white wine and dill sauce so was therefore drier and although tasty did not warrant the price.

A really tastefully decorated very clean restaurant. Great views. Good choice of food and. Drinks reasonably priced, Can take dogs in. Great for children.

I have never written a bad food review in my life but felt I needed to warn anyone else thinking of dinning here. We spent a lot of money on 4 large main meals which were absolutely disgusting and not fit for human consumption. The chicken looked like it had come out of a value uncooked tub which some zoo animal would possibly be feed with a squirt of sauce over it!!! Plus the ribs were tough as leather and the taste made me gag!!! I actually cannot put into words how disgusting and throughly disappointing it was. Really lovely setting but unfortunately the worse food I’ve ever had.

We visited the restuarant with our 2 teenage boys who are not fussy eatters at all! However they took a few bites of the ribs and chicken wings and point blank refused to eat anymore saying they were disgusting, and tasted like they had been left out all day. My wife had the ribs and spent all night with a terrible stomach and being sick. We did complain to the manager about the food but his response was if we came back a few more times and still didnt like it he would refund our first meal!! Needless to say we will never eat here again and i would not recommend it to anyone. The waitresses were really nice and the setting good....just ashame about the terrible food.

Me and my partner went there for a meal on our own was quite busy over 30 mins for food which was fine food turned up part of mine looked nice on plate but the chicken wings looked under cooked the sauce was runny the chicken wings were nearly white and I was looking at other people's that has had the same there wings were darker and the sauce was thicker and darker there's looked better than mine i tried one chicken wing and it was vile any way the ribs were nice but sauce a bit rich but omg after I left there I was complaining of belly ache and that was it I have spent all night being sick would never ever eat out of there again have to give it 1 star rating as I can't give it any lower

Greasy food. Wrong order when arrived it was cold no dessert long waits they seem to think a chicken burger is chicken BBQ pizza and the rude manger blamed me for ordering the wrong food. Management refused to deal with the issue with the chef as he was to busy chatting up the ladies. Soft poched egg was hard as well

If you appreciate slow service... and I mean, SLOW, then by all means come here! I waited 30 minutes for my main (caesar salad) only for it to come with minimum cheese, and the wrong type of lettuce, I ate it anyway. Then after waiting an extra 45 minutes (the entire family) for my eaton mess, it came with apricot compôte instead of the stated strawberry! The waiters were lovely, I understand it isn’t their fault, but everything else is just ridiculously poor! Food is not worth the expensive price. Its a shame, because the place itself is nice, but everything else was appalling.

First of all the pics on this site are years old, the place has had a make over and looks fantastic. Very nautical with an amazing view of the sea. Food is fantastic with my partner saying the pie is the best one hes ever had. I had the chicken mushroom pasta which was beautiful. Definitely recommend this to all people staying on this site!

We had breakfast and lunch here. both were really good. Staff were outstanding, and the location is really nice.

We arrived at the nab bar been before and it's been done up inside looks great. We ordered food and well it wasn't the best. Chips wasn't very nice, salad also looked old and not fresh. Staff friendly. Very expensive for what you get.

We've never expected much from a restaurant on a holiday park campsite but we were pleasantly surprised by The Nab Bar. Whilst we waited for the key for our caravan our family of 5 had a meal and a drink each. The service was fast, staff polite and we were all impressed with the food. One evening when we ran out of desserts in our caravan, Gary Jones at The Nab was happy to help keep 4 sugar craving females happy by supplying us with some delicious desserts to take away. Don't be put off by bars in other caravan parks, The Nab Bar is definitely the best.

We only ate here once on holiday at the site. The food wasn't bad but it was Wetherspoon standards at gastro pub prices. If the food was priced to match the standard of it I wouldn't have any issues. We didn't eat there again though as far too expensive for what we were served.

We ate here on one of the nights and we had a lovely meal . Would Definatlly recommend it . The breakfast looks nice as well .

We have ordered food for 13 over an hour ago and 3 of us have had food and have finished and we have 7 children still sat her starving what a disgrace and we keep being told 5 minutes from about half an hour ago we have complained 3 times and have only been told it's coming we weren't even told about the delay and they haven't even apologized and are only just giving us a free drink after we have drank about three no refund nothing do not recommend!!!also he forgot about the free drinks !!

Food was excellent although breakfast needed different selection of eggs and some jam but maybe it was part of package for 60 of us. Staff excellent.

the chef is terrible hard chips freezing beans in the morning under cooked meat the cheesey chips looked like they was coated in plastic...if you want to live do not eat here

Nicely decorated and attired, staff seemed distracted on my couple of visits but off peak timing probably means it was mind numbingly boring. Massively over priced even for a holiday park with a limited menu. Shame could have been brilliant.

Great choice of food on the menu and the meal deal for the kids is well worth it. We are all fans of the pizzas they make and breakfast is yummy too. If anything the bar service was a little slow but nice surroundings and friendly staff so not really an issue.

It's clean and the food was hot. Great atmosphere and never rushed.all staff are courteous andhelpful

Ideal place for to stop for a drink, have lunch, dinner or a light snack. The English breakfast was hot and good value for money

Basic food, basic amenities, very slow service, badly trained staff, dirty toilets, overpriced for what you actually get. condiment pots dirty. cutlery had to be wiped not exactly dirty but could have been washed better.

We had dinner here as we have a young family and it was convenient whilst holidaying at the park.

This is my 2nd stay here and wrote a glowing review of the park itself in June following our IOW Ford Takeover, but had not eaten at any of the facilities until now. We stayed the August BH week. I like the park and i like the staff I really do, but there were several let downs sadly for me in the standard of food and service.

All food orders are taken at the bar but this takes for ever due to staff levels. Although main bar/restaurant have been refurbished the loos haven't and are dated/tired and not as clean as you would expect.

The food was overpriced for the quality, no fresh vegatables or fruit on the menu and the service was very unprofessional and disorganised. the tables, cutlery and restaurant were dirty

Let’s start by saying I would not go here again if I wanted quick service we waited over an hour to be served and the pizza was over cooked the so called curry was like soup horrible the only good thing was the staff they were all very pleasant they did try to make up for the bad service which was commendable but the service really needs working on and making sure the food is to a higher standard

Food and service was awful. Wrong order on multiple occasions, food was cold. Hour and a half wait. Only consellation is that our waitress, Georgia, was a credit to the company. Very helpful and more than happy to rectify the issues raised.

Had two meals in the nab bar and the food and service was great. They have refurbed the restaurant, but not the toilets! They are shocking! All toilets on the away resort site need ripping out!

Lovely place to eat where we were staying on Whitecliffe Bay Holiday Park. Great views from the outdoor seating area and plenty of places to sit considering how busy it was. Service was really fast and food was great :)

The service was good with friendly staff, but the food let them down 2 of us had the chilli con carne while another had chicken.

We stayed at whitecliff bay for 4 days and ate breakfast at the nab bar every morning and had dinner twice. The food is actually quite nice and the bar itself is presented well however the service and standards are shocking. We ordered two teas and got coffee. We ordered strawberry ice cream which they said they ran out of so we then said vanilla and out came chocolate. They only had 1 wine available. The tables were never cleaned or set out, a staff member hd taken the outdoor keys home one night so unable to sit outside. I have never been in such disgusgting toilets as these ones - none of them flushed, had any toilet roll and were abaolutley filthy! Such a shame because the staff were friendly and the food was really quite nice.

The Nab Bar & Restaurant has been totally renovated. Staff is polite and friendly and willing to help. The new menu caters for most tastes. I had the 'double stack' burger with fries. It was lovely and I struggled to finish it.

Staff do their best, although not showing a lot of urgency (although praise due to the colleague who challenged a guest who was f’ing at the bar when we were sitting nearby with our 1 and 4 year old).

Bar staff weren’t great, not very helpful, talking amongst themselves whilst serving us. Waiting staff sighed at another customer when they asked for a spoon. Seem reluctant to help. Or just unhappy in their job. Food was nothing special, bland.

Basic food, nothing special . Sticky menus and tables , slow service and uninspiring . Restaurant supposed to have had a makeover but guess they forgot to carry it through with General housekeeping!!!!

Had some lovely food & drinks here whilst looking out at the sea. Great view, great food, great view & lovely staff!

Didn't eat in here but the food did look oK. Visited here a couple of times during our holiday, service was a bit slow but the staff did try there best just didn't have enough people on. They were really apologetic.

Visited twice this season. The recent refurb is fabulous but the service is as always....terrible! Ate with a group (9 in total) early in the season. We were the only ones in the bar and we ordered immediately. However, we had to wait over an hour for our meals to arrive and then each meal arrived separately and incomplete, even though it was very quiet and there were plenty of staff working. Also find the menu very expensive. Called in again today just for a drink. In fairness it was a hot, sunny day and reasonably (but not very) busy, but waited at the bar for over 20 minutes and gave up. Went and bought some drinks elsewhere. Really needs some sorting out, especially as 'peak' period is looming!

The heating wasn't working, we had to eat with our coats on. Service very slow as staff being trained. No atmosphere.

quite expensive for basic pub grub chilli con carne husband said was good but i had gammon and was rather rubbery, sat in the consevatory early evening was cold and very dim just couple lights on was going to ask if they needed 50p for...

Good breakfasts and the lunches are very tasty. This is not high class but will provide a good meal at a good price.

La comida "Nab bar estaba bien y a un precio razonable. Sin embargo, el menú infantil no comienza hasta las 4 de la tarde, que era decepcionante. Tienen una cafetería en la playa cercana, que es a través de una cuesta muy empinada. Sin embargo, no hubo servicio.

Pequeño menú media recomendaría el sándwiches tostados y pizza tailandesa pastel de pescado muy caro para lo que te dan.

El servicio era muy lento para los comensales, aunque no estaba lleno para esperar 1 hora para alitas de pollo y patatas fritas terrible

Podría ser un fantástico lugar, un surtido de habitaciones, bar, servicio restringido y diminutas muy lento como resultado.

Buena comida, recién preparado. Todo el personal fue muy amable y atento. No he comido aquí varias veces antes, pero no por un tiempo, ya que habíamos ido cuesta abajo. A decir que ahora es una mejora importante y sin duda comer aquí.

We stayed at the White Cliff Bay Touring park for 7 days and this was our only local eating place.On the 1st day my partner ordered a pizza for lunch expecting just a little one but oh no, a full on huge pizza which was way to much for one person, this needs to be stated on the menu. Apart from the size it was very nice but still slightly over priced by a couple of pounds.I had the cheese board, which, was, well, ok I suppose. Only 2 types of cheese so that was a disappointment. There was more salads and dips than cheese so this also needs to be fixed.On another day I had the smashed avocado bruschetta and to be honest had to be one of the best things I ate over our whole holiday. It was pretty much perfect.We eat a lot of avocado so we know how a good one tastes and this was spot on so top marks for that. Still priced a little high though.We also decided to have an evening meal here too and that really didn't go to plan at all unfortunately.We both ordered the smashed avocado again for a starter and I ordered the naked burger and my partner went for the Mushroom Linguine for the mains.Both the starters were yet again spot on but after just a couple of minutes since bringing the starters out a different person bought out the main courses. He could clearly see we had only just started eating the starters but still stood there saying "One Mushroom Linguine and one Naked burger..." I looked at him and said " No we've only just got our starters and they must be for someone else?" He looked at me with a dazed look and then walked back to the kitchen. We finished our starters which both of which were really good again and then yet a another different person come to clear our table. I explained what had happened and I said that I hope those mains had not been put under a heat lamp or microwaved? She said they wouldn't have been and they would have been recooked. I asked if they could give us a few minutes (5) before they bring out the new mains as to which she replied " Yes thats fine".............over 20 MINUETS later I found myself at the bar asking where our mains had got to and was told they were just being finished, and as I was told that the meals came flying out the kitchen. Oh dear oh dear oh dear, this was where things took a real bad turn.The Mushroom Linguine was NOT hot, hardly any mushroom at all and the added bacon was NOT cooked properly. And as for mine,,,,, well it just went from very bad to worse. There was supposed to be avocado on my plate along with a few other things but there was none whatsoever and I found Courgettes instead as to which I'm ALLERGIC too!!!!!This is simply not good enough.. I asked as to why theres something on my plate which should NOT be there and was told its because theres no more avocado!!!!!!!Im sorry but you don't just chuck any old thing on a plate as you've run out of one of the ingredients.Anyway, both meals were returned and we went without. Paid for what we had and left. All the staff were very apologetic but this really can't happen.For what its worth, the meals all looked good and the ones we could actually eat were really good. There really needs to be a lot more staff training here and that is to include the cook.

Fantastic setting, but don't expect a gastro experience. Food is average and too expensive for what it is. The staff are nice enough.

Food is nicely presented and hot the dishes are good value and taste great we always eat here a few times while here

When I went up to order our meals I think the staff need a bit of training on the lay out of there table as I had hustle then got accused for saying the wrong table number which was not my thought

Excellent food really good value for money nice friendly service couldn't fault it at all and so willing to help with allergies etc.

Popped in here for breakfast whilst staying here. Wish I hadn't bothered it was basic and bloody expensive! No kids menu so that had to have (and waste) a small breakfast. My bacon "on thick white bread" was just slapped between 2 slices of medium hovis. Ate off site the rest of the week because of this thankfully.

We ate here whilst stopping on the site. The food was excellent, the prices were reasonable and the staff were fantastic!

Great tasting food, good sized portions and sensible childrens portion. Service was a little slow and dining area was a little cool.

We went here the day we arrived at the Caravan site. The place was virtual empty. We chose a table and order at the bar. There was 5 of us for dinner, the meals came out one at a time, the child's meal being the last one to be brought out. We had waited half an hour for the meals. I felt sick all evening after eating here.

The Whitecliff is the best place to stay cant fault it at all but the nab bar we ate in on the first night the food was disgusting, the staff were unfriendly, the service was very slow was so disappointed.

Went here the first night of our holiday and had sausage and mash with a so called Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkshire pudding was flat and had been microwaved, the garden peas were cold as was the mash potatoes. We never went back.
