The Muddy Puddle Cafe in Hackney

Hoy vine al Charco de Lodo con mi pequeño. Después de pasar por ella muchas veces y siempre quería parar. Fuimos para un almuerzo rápido, y fuimos recibidos por el encantador propietario que nos mostró en. No solo es este café lindo, sino que la música era impresionante, y la comida era genial. Tomamos una fejolada y un burrito. Honestamente puedo decir que fue uno de los burritos más increíbles que he tenido. Volveremos pronto seguro!

Vinimos anoche al Muddy Puddle a girar unos discos, para ser honestos, pero no pudimos dejarnos ir. Ben y Phoebe han hecho el lugar perfecto con un ambiente muy relajado - espalda pero positivo. Entre el animado bar de arriba, el hermoso jardín trasero y la íntima zona de música en vivo de abajo, hay un montón de cómodos rincones para conversar / pasar el rato. El café era exquisito, la comida se ve excelente (aún no hemos comido) , pero lo que lo hace destacar es la energía única y personalidades de los dueños que impregnan el lugar. Si viviera cerca, este sería mi lugar favorito. Nuestro veredicto (totalmente no solicitado): 11 / 10 !

The NICEST staff and food/atmosphere here- want to gatekeep it but also too good not to share! The main lady who works here and a tall guy were just the nicest people to be served by, made my Sunday ⭐️

Discovered this cafe because of the bus diverting. Been going since November 2022. Very nice guy at the counter, relaxed atmosphere, £2.80 latte, all good. Today however the owner was in charge, half decaf latte at £3.65. Upon voicing concern, she told me this had been the price for 18 months since before the pandemic which is 3 years now actually. Anyway, decaf has increased in price. I’ve ordered coffee in 80 countries and have never been a.) accused of lying or b.) charged more for decaf. Completely inane. Only worsened from there. She couldn’t change a £20 note, and then the card machine wasn’t working properly. She accused me twice of rolling my eyes a lot. Was actually frustrated at myself for not working her receipt printing keyboard properly. Oh and her printer doesn’t work. Only helpful remark she blurted out, in response to me asking “Are you ok?” during her tirade, was that there are cheaper places nearby to purchase a latte. She’s right, scores, but I preferred the previous calm and humor of her counter help. Guess he’s been expelled. The sheriff is back in town and there will not only be Hell to pay, there will be overpriced coffee bills as well.

This is such a friendly cafe with amazing food and great coffee. The staff are the friendliest and I wish I was local to go in everyday. Kudos to the lovely staff and the kitchen for the amazing vegan food. Thank you for looking after us

What a delightful place. It looks magic, the girls are awesome and the coffee was really good. I'll go back just to soak up on the positive vibes I got from these two ladies. I'll be back!

This is a great place with good food and drinks and authentically friendly staff. The garden is lovely.

Excellent coffee and delicious empenadas, sitting in the sunshine in a gorgeous backyard in Stoke Newington, a stone's throw from my house, but it feels like a holiday! Just what we need in times like these. Well done Phoebe and Ben for sticking it out and being so positive all through the last very different year. Excellent vegan food!!

Ethical, delicious produce, fantastic staff, coffee is second-to-none. A great local business with a clean and lovely atmosphere but with character and some nature feel too. Love it!

Lovely food and staff but they need to take more covid precautions. None of the staff were wearing masks and some regulars were coming in with no masks and chatting to the staff for a while at the counter near where other customers were seated.

Came with the family for a breakfast, really good food. Got something for everyone including the kids. Will definitely return

I found out about this place via Instagram and managed to get a booking for lunch. What an amazing little place?! We received a warm welcome upon arrival and went through to the beautiful garden area to be seated. The food was incredible. I went for a full vegan breakfast, which was just amazing. I've had plenty of vegan breakfasts before, but this was definitely my favourite! I will definitely be back here again. Can't recommend it enough. Love the staff and the food!
