I'd heard about this restaurant a while ago and finally made it there today. I tried to book online and over the phone but wasn't successful. It's a small cozy place. Looks tatty from the outside but once inside, you get a real homely feel. We were seated right next to the door which wasn't ideal as we kept getting a blast of cold breeze each time the door opened. We started with Bruschetta and it tasted lovely. Our mains took about an hour to arrive, which was disappointing. My wife was really hungry and was about to drop!The service left a lot to be desired. Although the member of staff who served us was very friendly and helpful, she was alone and it was difficult to get her attention.So, if you're not starving, and have a spare evening that needs filling, pop down. The food is authentic, tasty and fairly priced.Overall, lovely food and friendly faces. Would I visit again - I'm still undecided.Oh ye, it's cash only.

The place is small, the food is good but the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE, the waitress is RUDE and sulking, definitely NOT recommend the experience was lousy.

Easily the best Italian food I’ve had in London with very modest prices. Absolutely love this place and the staff are always really friendly.

Rather fell into this place by accident as I was starving whilst driving through the area looking for anywhere to get a bite. What a massive strike of good fortune for me! What a brilliant pizza (Italian sausage and Gorgonzola). Fabulously authentic and so, so flavoursome. Don’t hesitate to visit. Slight downside was they only have small glasses and so my thirst had to be quenched by two of these ‘junior school size’ glasses of orange and soda. Didn’t look at the price before ordering and just the pizza with no side orders and just the two glasses as above £14:80, a tad more than I expected, but the taste of the pizza that was still lingering meant no complaints from me!

If you are looking for cosy, quality, lively true Italian restaurant then look no further check this place out! Simply some of the best Italian produce I've ever tasted is in mighty Goppa. Great staff, slick service and very reasonable rates.

Sur les conseils d'une amie, nous sommes allés dîner dans ce restaurant. Les pizzas et les pâtes maison y sont délicieuses, il y a même possibilité de gouter plusieurs mini pizzas, ce que nous avons fait. Nous nous sommes régalés et tout ça pour un prix très raisonnable. Attention cependant au service qui peut être un peu long si vous êtes pressés, ce qui n'était pas notre cas.

came in weekday afternoon as we were in the nearby area of stratford/hackney.i thought this place would be packed due to the high number of reviews. but it wasn't.we were the only customers sitting inside!!! plus the area around doesn't feel safe. also parking a bit of nightmare. it's on a busy road near to a junction.ordered a regular margarita pizza. it looked like the real mccoy, until i bite into it. the dough, sauce and cheese was not great. the cheese was very chewy. the sauce had no taste!!it is not like what you get in Italy.why fool us with something that LOOKS authentic, but fails in the taste department??this is another restaurant i have been tempted to try due to the high tripadvisor rating only to be disappointed once i have tried it.if you are looking for authentic tasty italian pizza, this is not the place.but it has great friendly service but seating is not comfortable and toilets not pleasing.you have been warned!

They prioritise take away customers, so bear this in mind when your waitress forgets some parts of your order.Had the Aubergine Parmigiana for a starter, which was pretty decent. Not as good as what you get a Pizza Pilgrims for the same dish.I had a large mushroom pizza, which was good. Mushrooms were a little ordinary, but the pizza itself was very good. They are quite generous with the amount of topping they give you.My friend had the Butternut squash gnocchi which was with Gorgonzola. It was quite plain as maybe the cheese wasn't that strong.Overall, food was good, but nothing special. I prefer the purist cooking of Pizza Pilgrims who do killer pizza.Eating-in service is a bit odd. Waitress was friendly but didn't seem to be able to remember some of the basics requested by customers. Maybe bump up the number of waiting staff, esp. on busy nights.This eatery is on a long road towards Homerton station with very little else on the road, so maybe that explains the rough edges.The chefs seem very genuine and are obviously keen to impress and they seemed very interested in whether customers enjoyed the food. If that translated to the service staff, it would definitely help.

Tucked away in Homerton but only a few minutes walk from the station is this incredibly authentic restaurant.We were given a warm welcome by the chef/owner - who was preparing food was we arrived and then attended to by his attentive waiter.A good menu with lots of vegetarian options- slightly more interesting than other bog standard restaurants. The pizzas were cooked to perfection, even if there was a slight wait for them all to arrive, but that's a price well worth paying!I had the ricotta ravioli with wild mushrooms, which was great. It looked and tasted so obviously homemade. I tried a bit of my companions pizzas and they were good too.A small but decent wine menu meant we accompanied our food with carefully chosen drinks.The restaurant is small and a little basic, and the bench seating not the most comfortable, but for a truly authentic meal (at a very reasonable price) we all will willingly eat at Goppa's again

So be prepared to wait and savour your beer ! We waited an hour for 3 pizzas . Delicious pizza when it finally arrived ! They seem to prioritise take away customers over those that have ventured into the restaurant . Go because it's good pizza but be warned !

Visiting Homerton Went to Goppa on a busy Friday night the waitress was very welcoming although we had not booked and gave us a table. She was very attentive and friendly. Offering advice on the different dishes. The pizza was very good and the Sardinian lager excellent. Highly recommended place to visit

We have been to Goppa few times no, the pizza is very good and also the price and the service are very competitive.

The service was clumsy to start with. I arrived alone as a woman of decidedly mature years, asking for a table for 3, and the waiter had a lot of trouble admitting that there was an empty unreserved table for 4.Things cheered up once my companions arrived. Pizza and pasta was good. My wild mushroom and ricotta stuffed ravioli was delicious, we all agreed.We had a quirky salad of potato broccoli and chard with lettuce which was also good, as was the Menabrea Piedmontese beer. You can get ichnusa in most hackney Italians which was the only other offering. I was surprised these were described as craft beers. They are standard local, I would have thought. Not that we minded.The oven may not be wood- fired but there were happy people in hoops tonight eating some good food.

Goppa' propose good pizza at convenient prices. Flavours are genuinely italian and portions are generous. Try the platter of cured meats and cheeses, with fried pasta, it's huge and very tasty! Draught beer is also italian, Menabrea is amongst the best you can find. We come at least once per month to enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

I have visited Goppa before but won’t be returning. As a solo diner I felt they placed more emphasis on serving the other tables. Not that i wanted a fuss but just a good place to sit (instead of very uncomfortable bar stools that are too low for the table). They said they were fully booked when I arrived but noticed that the couple who came in after me, who hadn’t booked as well, managed to get a table. Mediocre food and half-hearted service made the whole experience disappointing .Pity as you are very local.

I've been to Goppa a few times. As usual the best pizza I had in London but this time I tried the Chef's selection pastas!!!! Jesus Christ Culurgiones ( Sardinian ravioli ) and Duck Tagliatelle is heaven!!!! I really recommend !!

Opted to try Goppas over our regular haunts of Venerdi's / Yard Sale and won't be back. Pizza was sloppily made, small sized with basic ingredients, unsurprising tomato base and not even a touch of basil or herb to lighten flavour. I guess you could call this authentic south Italian style pizza or you could also call it cheaply made, overpriced basic pizza to take advantage of hipsters in hackney willing to shell out £8.50 for spicy sausage and Gorgonzola on dough.

We went to Goppa' with a friend in a friday night. The place was cozy, small and not too loud, ideal for a dinner with friends whether a romantic date. The food is amazingly homemade, fresh and supertasty and, to be fair, it's hard to find this quality in Italy too. The service was superefficient, friendly and they gave us a shot of myrth on the house as well! I can't find a bad note in my experience! Absolutely recommended.

Excellent little restaurant, on homerton high-street. Table for one ahead of Ride London 100. It it was perfect. Simple straightforward no fuss service and superb food including the homemade lasagna. Loved it!

I have visited this restaurant on three occasions and it has always been delicious. Last time we visited we have just come back from a holiday in Italy and I have to say that the flavour of the pizzas here are the same as the ones we had there. Whenever I fancy a pizza I won't choose another pizzeria.

It's a fairly simple place really, but it does what it does really well. The pizza was absolutely perfect; great ingredients and a feeling of being 'nice' full at the end. Staff were pretty efficient if not overly friendly, and prices are also very fair. Just a really nice place to have excellent pizza in simple, relaxed surroundings. Will definitely be back again.

I really wanted to like this place as it's local to us but we arrived on a busy evening and the staff seemingly just couldn't be bothered to seat us. We asked how long a seat might be and they vaguely said 25 minutes so we said we'd get our pizzas to go if nothing came up - within the first 5 or 10 minutes loads of tables cleared as we were standing waiting and we weren't offered a seat. We had also asked if we could perhaps have a drink at the outside table while we waited to which they just said we weren't allowed with no explanation. The burrata topped pizza didn't travel particularly well (a 10 minute walk home) but it was alright. I didn't enjoy the experience, overall.

Please be advised that the pizza at Goppa' is not the typical Neapolitan one that you can generally find at Santa Maria or Rossopomodoro. It's the alternative crispy-based one more common in the rest of Italy; it doesn't mean it's not worth the trip to Homerton, it's very tasty instead!I think this is the selling point of the restaurant: very generously topping savoury pizza (I recommend the Tuscan sausage one, a proper Italian sausage is quite hard to find in London pizzerias) at the right price, as the special ones will be under £10.Even though it took a while to prepare the pizzas, we were very full at the end of the meal!Downsides:- very limited menu: starters, apart from specials, are only ham and cured meat platters; no pasta, the lasagne was the day's special though.- in our particular case, the Sardinian dessert, the seadas, was not available. It was a bit upsetting because they don't even offer tiramisu', other desserts are not appealing.- very basic décor, benches and tables are similar to the one at "Apollo" in DalstonDecent service overall, not charged but feel free to leave a tip.Certainly recommended if you fancy a good value tasty pizza but fails in such a limited menu are not acceptable.

Having visited the place, solely on the back of the wonderful reviews, it was the first time ever I've found Trip Advisor to be wildly out of synch with my own experience.The restaurant itself is very small, and more akin to a cafe. The toilets were disgusting, unclean, and to cap it off had vulgar graffiti lining every inch of spare space. Is it hipster now for crude phallic pictures and comments to be scrawled on a wall? Even the pizza, the purpose of visit, was frankly awful. Maybe I chose wrong, or maybe it was an off day, but sincerely it was the worst pizza I've had for a long time. It was saturated in grease, and really lacking in flavour. I simply didn't enjoy this place, and neither did my friends. I sense I probably didn't get the best pizza, or they had a bad day, but even so, the whole feeling of the place wasn't one that commands the "best in the area" type reviews

Regular guest since opening,I ve been there for my Bday and It was special as usual. Amazing homemade tiramisu' and free shots of tequila only the cherry on top for a special day. Friendly and attentive staff,best italian pizza,nice and warm atmosphere!Truly recommanded!

Since they open I go to Goppa' at least once per month, the staff is very friendly and the pizza is amazing.All the dishes are made with love and care, as they use only fresh ingredients you can really taste all of them!Until now I didn't find any better place!Well done!

All the ingredients were fresh and mostly probably imported from Italy. I think one of the most important things to make a proper a pizza is the quality of the tomato sauce and this was really spot-on; the dough nicely done, felt light and easy to digest . I particularly enjoyed the fresh porcini mushrooms that were served as a special starter (the fresh ones are not easy to find in London). Also, the section of wines was quite good.The atmosphere rustic and cosy...will definitely come back!

Food was top quality as well as friendly service .. very cosy atmosphere ...for the money we spend we could not find any better ...normally I spend much more for less quality so was lovely surprise .....They should open more places like that around London ...good luck x

The staff in this restaurant are modest and and attentive. I feel this is due to the restaurant being very little (they probably can cater up to about 20 people in one seating). I was there with a group of friends and the atmosphere was fun with a very good taste in music!!! Food was amazing and authentically Italian. We had a selection of cured meats and cheeses for starters along with some pizza/lasagna/ and home made ravioli (aubergine and goats cheese pizza was my favourite).All in all I would definitely come back and recommend this for a casual night out or a glass of wine with a friend or family.

I had been meaning to go to Goppa for a while and finally went on a Friday with a friend in January this year. We turned up with no reservation. Staff and decor was warm, friendly and inviting- they managed to accommodate us even thought it was busy (said we could have the table until a specific time but then we stayed there all night!). Menu is simple (but I mean that in a good way!) and ingredients are authentic, fresh and delicious. We had prosciutto and burata to share for starter- wonderful and plenty for two people and shared a regular pizza and salad for a main. They cater for all appetites doing 'mini' and regular pizzas (minis are great if you want to try a few of the wonderful topping combos).Pizza toppings are maximum 3 or 4, base is thin and crispy- really was the best authentic pizza I've eaten in London. I didn't have dessert but will make sure I keep room for one next time! Cost was good- two courses and a bottle of wine under £20 each. I'd like to say thank you to staff, our server (I forget his name..) was really chatty and friendly. Will be back and will share the good word!

You Can't find a better pizza than this in London!!! A visit in Homerton is worth it because of this super friendly and cozy pizzeria, 5 minutes walking from the station!! Here you can find the best ingredients from Italy like burrata, buffalo mozzarella and loads of cured meats: mortadella, lonza, Parma ham ecc.I'm Italian and I go there every week and it feels like home. Last but not least, the owner Enrico and all his staff are really lovely :)

Service:Aufmerksame Bedienung. Sehr freundlich und schnell. Wohlbefinden der Gäste lag Ihnen sehr am Herzen. Frische Zubereitung der Speisen ist sichtbar. Gute Koordination der Zubereitung der Speisen bezüglich Restaurant und Abholung. Essen:Hinweis des Kellners auf Specials. Oliven werden am Anfang kostenlos gereicht. Große Portionen. Frische Zutaten. Außergewöhnliche Pizzavariationen. Gute Auswahl. Alles war sehr lecker. Typische italienische Nachspeisen. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend und wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder hier essen.

Went there after reading all the good reviews and was expecting a fabulous pizza.It was ok but much better places in London but I have to say the service was great.....

Easy to say BEST pizza in London.It's just like actually being in Sardinia.Top quality products.Proper cocktails and fantastic sardinian beer.Good prices. Or priceless , up to you.Enrico's team is superb as well.A Must.X

The pizzas are cooked in an electric oven. They are burnt most of the time. Toppings are funny....whole slices of aubergines over it?? Come on???? Beside they are sardinian and the entire globe knows the good pizza is a neapolitan product. And I am not telling you to go to eat pizza at Franco Manca....Lord forbid they are worse..Eat a pizza when you visit naples. In london...have fish and chips.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed the pizza, wine and dessert! Service was very good and price is reasonable, we will definitely come back!

Came here for some casual food and drinks on a Sunday evening and was so impressed that I left wondering why I hadn't visited this local treasure before! The pizzas were divine, fresh ingredients and a lovely crisp base, tried some of the white wine and Negroni's and both were lovely and complimented the food well. But the best part of the evening was the brilliant service and warm atmosphere. Goppa is always full of happy locals and now I can understand why, I can't wait to visit again.

Nice small pizzeria with gentle staff and good food. Pizza is the real Italian pizza. The environment is simple, clean and friendly. Floor staff is really kind suggesting food from the menu.
