very expensive for so little food had fish and chips 13 chips and a very poor cod and small (Dont think its Fresh)

Went last night and do go here on a special occasions to celebrate our anniversary usually. I had fish and chips the chips were oven chips and the fish was dry My partner had Lamb which was very good Prices have gone up and it’s my first negative experience here I’m afraid

Did not realise that there was a disco on in the bar area would not have booked had I known

Visited the Mossbrook several times and it never fails to impress. Fillet steak is to die for. Staff were attentive and polite. Car park is quite tight if you have a large vehicle.

What an amazing Valentines meal the food was outstanding and a special mention must go to Josh who helped me by giving us a more private table, so I could Pop the big question. ❤️💍 And she said Yes !!!!!

Fish was under cooked, mushy peas were blended.

We visit on average once a week. Like the variety offered by the menu - the always excellent quality of the food and of course the exceptional service.

The experience has been fantastic from start to finish. The food, the atmosphere and especially our host for the afternoon Ellen. She was experienced with the menu and friendly, I honestly would just come again for the hospitality but what a fantastic overall afternoon. Ellen really has made this experience and really needs some recognition as normally in this world no news is good news in most cases! Credit is needed where credit id due more often! 10/10

Ellen our server was delightful, very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere today is lovely, a mixture of old and young, chit chat and laughing. Very pleasant. We are not local and haven’t been before but will visit again if we’re in this locality again. Good good too.

Excellent food and service all round. Great main courses, one cheese burger and two sea bass fillets, followed by ice cream/cookie, lemon tart and gluten free sticky toffee pudding. Washed down by glasses of sauvigon blanc and pints of Guinness. All served admirably by Ellen. Will definitely be back.

I look Mum out for a special day, we called in at the Mossbrook for lunch. The food is great and the service is excellent. Especially Ellen, she made us feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. We will call in again for certain.

Enjoyed our meal at the Mossbrook. Food is always good, had fish and chips and pan fried sea bass, very tasty. Didn't have starters or puds as the portions are quite generous. Lovely atmosphere, staff always pleasant and our waitress today, Ellen, was particularly helpful and knowledgeable . Will definitely be visiting again.

Brilliant food - beef croquets to start were delicious, as well as the halloumi fries. Steak cooked to perfection, fish & chips and pork belly all delicious. Service was great, very attentive & helped with gluten free option. We had colouring for the children, and staff took time to listen to us. Thank you for a great evening and for looking after us so well Jamie, Lisa & Ellie. Bonus that we had the January offer too!

My partner I visited here for the first time and I’m glad we did, what an excellent pub. We both thoroughly enjoyed our mains, I had the lamb and my partner the steak pie and were both exactly what we needed in this cold January - warming, hearty meals big on flavour. The service must also be commended, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Drove 150 miles to come see my parents to take them out a for a belated birthday meal ordered fillet steaks to be told non available at 5pm and then to be served cold food, granted was sent back to be “re heated” but made it even more inedible chewy and burnt inside which took a further 10 min to come out. Yes the two meals cold were taken off the bill but it still came to over £100 for four of us remaining on the bill two burgers which didnt look all that and two rounds of drinks still service slow felt sorry for the guy serving drinks running round but very polite

Always a pleasure to visit The Mossbrook. Exceptional service and food. You can choose to eat in the restaurant, bar area or outside. Great for couples or large groups. Parking on site.

Very expensive for what you get, it is not any better than going to a toby carvery unfortunately.

The best Sunday Roast in the area! The General Manager Josh made us feel really welcome as soon as we arrived and the team were all really friendly and approachable. Will definitely be back when we are in the area again, I just wish we lived closer!

We come here regularly and cannot recommend the pub any more. Excellent service and the food is spot on. The general manager, Josh, always comes to check on us and have a chat. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus!

Beautiful place. Nice decor. Service ok. Food mixed. Not sure if they’re having problems with supply due to weather but appear to be struggling on the veg front. I had the rotisserie chicken and no vegetables came with it. Just chicken chips and gravy. See photo. Others in our party of 7 only had one small carrot and a couple of tiny green beans. We had a great table in a booth though.

I really don’t know where to start, I cannot believe The Mossbrook advertises itself as a premium restaurant. The starter’s Salt and Pepper Squid, rubbery undercooked and over salted enough to cause a heart attack. The mains, pizza, extremely dry no tomato base, small amount of cheese topping and far from enjoyable, premium cut steak accompanied by undercooked chips to be replaced by more undercooked chips, with a side of greasy overcooked mushrooms and lump of onion, once again undercooked. Two deserts faired no better, a chocolate bomb with a dry filling, lemon tart that had no flavouring of lemon. Unfortunately being a premium restaurant the prices were also at a premium. I have seen the comments from the management team, I very much welcome their feedback, more than happy to have a call to discuss, rest assured we won’t be reattending and will suitable advise friends and colleagues to avoid, and look to visit other premium establishments within the local area.

We had a lovely meal and the waiter who served us was very helpful & friendly. Our meals were beautiful. I did however have 50% voucher which really did help a lot in these unfortunate times.

We were a party of 30 people who visited the Mossbrook on new years eve - this must be one of the busiest nights of the year for them. So I just had to commend them on the excellent meal and evening we all had . The meals were pre ordered but all delivered correctly in spite of the volume . The meals were all warm , the food was excellent especially the chateau Briand - nice touch was having name tags of who were sharing to ensure we got the steak how we had asked for it . Staff were pleasant , helpful and worked their socks off . The night continued with a disco to see the new year in which had everyone up on their feet dancing . A fantastic night was had by all and we would not hesitate to do it again

Always good could do with altering the menu for different dishes

Food was nice but menu needs a change. Prices are high for drinks and food. Fortunately I have a discount. Returned for a meal on the 28th November very nice again

Everything was perfect, my son said 20/10 and better than McDonald’s, that’s high praise coming from an 8 year old!

This is our second New Year's Eve dinner and we haven't been disappointed and we are thinking of visiting the very good venue more often.

Food was expensive for the quality, Not accomodating for dietary requirements. Service charge of 10 percent automatically added for table over 10.

Having dined here many times we brought guests from overseas, expecting excellent food. Two of the party had the vegetarian burger. It looked like it tasted. Bland and uninspiring. There is no excuse these days for serving something that looks and tastes like cardboard. It came with a small pot of French fries and a smaller pot with 2 pieces of pickle. Price tag £16.75. With hindsight I should have sent this back. My husband had the dirty burger. Equally as uninspiring with a heftier price tag of £20.95. Seriously if you cannot get a burger right just don’t serve them at all. We had a range of starters, as the Mezze, along with a lot of other items had run out. Halloumi fries clearly out of the freezer. Bog standard olives out of a jar. You really need to talk to the powers that be and reconsider the menu and prices. Your staff are excellent but they are now serving sub-standard food. A burger and fries from McDonald’s is tastier and a fraction of the price. Food standards have definitely declined and we will not be visiting again.

The staff were nice, the wine was great, the atmosphere for a Sunday is what you would expect, BUT the food let it down for us and is not how remember this place from last time. A shame, but on the basis of tonight we'll scrub this off our list.

Perfectly adequate pub food, slightly diminished by 'gastropub' pretention - cheeseburger with a cheese sauce instead of straightforward cheese? Very good, well-trained staff.

Ellen was an excellent waitress. Very attentive and friendly. The food was really very excellent and we loved the Sunday roast especially the pork.

The food was amazing and the staff very friendly. I had pulled beef croquettes with dripping sauce, and they were delicious. The scallops and prawn linguine was tasty too. Try an orange chocolate martini for dessert and great that cocktails are 241. My partner had seabass, which was great, but was disappointed with his 'dirty' fries with a tiny squirt of mayo and a couple of bits of bacon. Not dirty enough!

Really good food and really friendly staff. We had to arrive late tonight but they were very accommodating and moved our booking with no problem. The food came pretty quickly and was all really nice. Especially recommend the half chicken and the risotto. Will definitely be coming back.

Ellen never fails. A true professional and stalwart of the Mossbrook for many years. Always happy to help you and makes the Mossbrook a pleasure to visit.
