Horrible pub the bar staff are bullies and I really had a horrible experience due to the behavior of locals inside.

Rubbish service in there now don't bother going

Updated 2024 Very loud place but the singer Fat Bob is brilliant. Vaping and smoke smell inside very busy due to the euros but would try again when not during a major sporting event. Older review and last landlords. 2023 What a lovely place on our doorstop. The female bartender/landlady(?) couldn't have more welcoming. Nice pint with the 2 dogs. I'm hoping to try a meal one day soon.

Visited here as heard recently taken over. The beer tastes great, the place is clean and tidy. Ordered off the food after the kitchen closed and the landlady was more than happy to cook for me. The staff is pleasant and chatty. Relaxing easy atmosphere

I come into The Moors Tavern quite regularly and it is always an enjoyable experience. They have very kind staff, food and drinks are reasonably priced and they always have the football on for people to come and watch. If you enjoy a game of pool they have a pool table and it is free Sundays 3pm until 6pm. It's a nice atmosphere with lovely people and music playing too, they also have a jukebox so you can choose what you want to listen to for a small fee. I would recommend The Moors Tavern to anyone in the area!

Visited pre-match at Spennymoor Town. The beast pint of Neckoil IPA in ages and reasonably priced too. A bit disappointed no crisps, nuts or scratchings!

Good grub, reasonable prices If you can't be bothered to cook on a Sunday head on down for the roast. Nice portion size and your choice of tasty food. Nice cosy environment & friendly staff Recommend

Called in on way to a christening and had the most amazing carvery, also found out that they do take aways, price is excellent and staff are really polite, would highly recommend this place

Visited with a friend on a Friday at lunchtime. Food and service were impeccable. Decor was quite modern with plenty of space. Unfortunately the place was a little cold and we had to eat with coats on but will definitely return 😁

Called in after meal out, ended up stoping for a couple of hours. Place was lively but not rowdy. Very clean and tidy and very reasonably priced.

People are in the bar making racist comments.

Usually meet here with friends before a local match when it can get busier or sometimes to watch a game on tellys in which case its usually not too bad/quiet. No issue taking kids as long as they behave though it is a pub not a family resteraunt and mine only come along for the above occasions. Wouldn't take them otherwise. Beers ok and prices not too bad.

I've only really been introduced to the Tavern since becoming a coach for Spennymoor Town YFC late last year. Since then I've come to realise its a great local pub with a strong connection to the Football club. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages served at a very reasonable price. If i lived a little closer it would certainly be my local but in my short coaching career I've had a few great nights in there. They have regular events on such as bands, karaoke, race nights and serve a great atmosphere for all fans on match days.Great service and friendly staff which make you feel very welcome.

Obnoxious little man who claims the public footpath / parking area to the front is private land. Check your deeds! Oh, and not everybody appreciates being referred to as ‘mate’ especially when you’re not one. Shame there is a ZERO star option.

Visited for breakfast last week , possibly the best English breakfast I’ve had ! Staff were friendly and attentive !

Ian (landlord) always does everything he can for the customers ... puts on breakfasts before the football and they are top class all the trimmings sets you up for a long day of drinking and football!!

We’ve been to the Moors for drinks many many times over the months and always an enjoyable experience. Quiz on a Sunday night and prices are reasonable. Good walking distance to the ground. Staff are great, very accommodating and friendly!

I usually go to the Tavern before matchdays on a saturday, you get a warm welcome by the staff (who are great) and all of the locals, the tavern has a warm friendly atmosphere. I havn't tried the food that they offer so i cannot comment on that, the pub is also kept very clean, there is a big screen, pool table and dart board for the sports fans and theres music (disco) for the build up of the Spennymoor Town FC match, and even karaoke if your brave enough haha, all in all its a lovely pub which has something for everyone, well worth a visit.

I recently took my grandparents for a sunday carvery as they hadnt been in since it was formerly the salvins arms and they were very impressed with the quick service and value for money but more importantly the food was great. Maybe the tavern hasnt got a name yet for sunday carverys as they have only recently started doing them but we will be back more often and also i think alot of others will be too!

What a great place to go, live music on Saturdays, carvery on Sunday lunch time and a quiz on the evening. When Spennymoor fc are at home on Saturdays there is the best atmosphere in the town with home and away fans enjoying the facilities with karaoke as well sometimes, makes it a real good afternoon out.

Very friendly, good food and a large amount of beverages at reasonable prices.
