Excellent & no complaints ever.

An autistic person here, I’d like to preface this by stating that I love Taylor Swift. First of all the staff are so incredibly kind and patient. Five star communication and great customer service. Lovely atmosphere, and to top it all off, a variety of Taylor Swift songs were played throughout my visit! A very happy customer.

If you fancy a sweet treat, I highly recommend it! Delicious food and fast service! Nice clean seating area, friendly staff! All at a great price with a menu full of choices for all! Added bonus If you can't eat it all, you can have the option to take it away for later👌

I don't know what's happened here, perhaps there's been a change of management, but my only two visits this year have been disappointing. The choice of flavours is smaller, the ice cream is served a bit too cold (yes, that is a thing) but most irritating is the joyless attitude of the staff. Both visits were marked by unsmiling and brusque service. Both visits were on warm and sunny days this summer when there would've been a queue into a packed out shop in the past. Both occasions it was virtually empty with no one queuing ahead of me. Has anyone else noticed the change for the worse?

Good selection of tasty ice creams, other options too such as sundaes, waffles, cakes, etc.

Hidden little ice cream and waffle parlour. In my humble opinion much better than another venue on the main road in Seaham. Added bonus is the parking due to its shared location with the pub, shop and others. Eat in or dine out options. We dined in. It was clean and welcoming. At seat table service is provided. The waffles are very filling so if you have a little one be prepared to have to eat theirs or just share one with two shakes and you’re sorted. If you’re struggling to drink your shake you can ask one of the friendly members of staff to pop in a takeaway cup. Next time I visit I’ll have to get some photos to show the portion sizes. For concept it is one large freshly cooked waffle cut into quarters served with two scoops ice cream, cream and toppings.

My friends and I enjoyed the fabulous selection of ice cream they had to offer....and especially the cookie dough, it was beautiful...staff very welcoming...would definitely recommend a visit

Nice Ice Cream and a great selection… but that is about as positive as I can be. Very rude staff with zero customer service skills, they seemed more interested in their mates who were congrigated in the shop, with their feet on the seats and no orders. Really unwelcoming atmosphere and felt uncomfortable when stood waiting due to the servers rude attitude. Won't be returning!

Cancelled my order with no reason 2 hours before they close. Not really sure what the issue is? Disappointed.

Bought 4 different ice cream cones only 1 ice cream was nice the biscoff - very disappointing- the shop was empty but the girl serving could not raise a smile - gave her one star for saying goodbye.

Walk-in order last week. It was quite late but still a good selection of desserts. Ordered 3 cheesecake and a peanut butter stack for takeaway. (£19.60 in total) Really well packaged. Delicious. Friendly service. Highly recommend

We've been going to this shop for several years now when we're in the area, however, our visit yesterday left us very disappointed...They didn't have the 2 flavours my husband requested which wasn't a good start...We both duly ordered a 2 scoop cone and were very underwhelmed with what we got for our £9 - a lot of money to a pair of pensioners but it was a rare treat for us....The scoops of ice cream were very small and were absolutely lost in the large cone - the ice cream was also a bit watery and devoid of flavour...I don't know if this place has changed hands, we didn't recognise the assistants, but I don't think we'll be back after this experience. ....Very disappointing!!

One of the best ice cream bars in the country with a good indoor seating area, plenty of parking and sea views. Home made ice cream in an uncountable range of flavours, kids and adult tastes more than catered for. Waffles and ice cream are to die for. If you are near the Durham coast you have to head here

got fudge waffle and bueno ice cream. ice cream tasted like paint stripper wish i was joking nail varnish remover probably tastes better. waffle tasted cheap i’ve had better out of aldi. water on waffle was soft and soggy i wanted crispy

Was sat outside in car eating and seen the shop close and none of the ice cream got covered up with a lid or anything ? Don't like the thought of insects crawling across what I eat ? Also noticed they didn't display food hygiene rating so when googled it was a 3* I wouldn't give it 1*

What a find! Called in after a lovely walk on the beach. Fantastic range of Ice creams. Fabulous range of cakes and cheesecakes. Really nice coffee too. The ladies that served us were very attentive and friendly.

Always lots of delicious ice-cream flavours to choose from. Eating in is a special occasion thing for me, but their ice-cream is always a treat and the sundaes are spectacular. I recommend them.

Place is nice staff are lovely ice cream is top class but these African playlists are something I can do without.

I hate leaving a negative review about a local small business, but this place could be great with some new, friendly helpful staff and a different attitude. Like how about putting the names of the ice creams on the actual ice cream tubs, rather than being a flung a tatty menu and having to work it out for yourself by coour or texture? Or pehaps amiling, saying hello, goodby or basically making your customers feel less like a problem? Oh and the ice cream could be better; if you havent experienced real gelato it might be OK, and its pretty good value with decent portions, but the dog got most of mine.

Having read previous reviews, I walked in conscious thinking will staff be rude and show zero customer service like the previous reviews on here. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food just fantastic. First visit and we’ll certainly be back. Reasonable prices in comparison to other places close by.

Really nice atmosphere, loads of choice, we always sit in and the tables are cleaned everything. Served very quickly, plenty of staff to help.

Very friendly shop with lots of gelato selections . A welcome stop after our long search for sea glass along the beach. Plenty of other alternatives such as coffee and tea, but we were after the gelato.

Fantastic ice cream. Good choice menu of desserts and ice creams of their own creation or just order scoops of ice cream it's all good. Milkshakes, cakes and coffees too. Nice people working there.

Ice cream is great and so many flavours to pick from. Service wasn't friendly but as we had take out it didn't affect us much.

Not the cheapest, but certainly worth it. Amazing flavours and a very clean establishment. I've not tasted gelato this good outside of Italy.

Excellent ice cream and large portions!

Me and my friends always order from this place as we won’t go anywhere else, but recently I’ve been very disappointed ordered from it a few weeks ago and thought it was a one off but today ordered from it again we ordered a Nutella waffle, the waffle was so undercooked and was not anything like we normally get so I complained and they made a new me for me. Didn’t even apologise or agree with me. Then received basically the same thing again no difference what so ever! Very disappointed and sadly won’t be returning. The photos is what the waffles used to be like and what they look like now, awful

I visited today with my daughter for impromptu take away ice creams mid afternoon. I was ‘greeted’ with ‘what do you want’ in what I can describe as a very abrupt manner. I explained I wanted to have a look in the chiller( as there are many flavours) as they did not have the flavour my daughter had asked for who was sat in the car. At no point did either the staff member serving the actual ice cream who never uttered a word throughout the whole transaction or the rude female offer any guidance or explanation of any of the flavours or simply any interaction. I seemed to be an inconvenience not a customer. I have written this to highlight to the owners that their staff need customer service training. I understand at present due to Covid things are strange but it does not stop being courteous & welcoming. Additionally you are asking people to wear masks which I did however the female I mentioned had removed her mask when the next customers who were a family entered the premises and continued to engage with them without a mask. Plenty of other places to go to that make you feel welcome and who still make eating out an enjoyable experience ....understandable now why only a few customers on a red hot day!

Miserable staff! Unapologetic for the fact they charge you more because they didn’t have standard cones available! Instead had to have awful rainbow kids cones that we all chucked and were charged extra for the privilege! Should have been nice experience for the kids instead over charged without explanation for something we couldn’t eat All three staff had no customers service skills at all

Lovely ice cream many flavours

I’m absolutely gobsmacked!!! Walked into the shop and it took them ages to actually acknowledge that I was there, just talking amongst themselves without even seeing me stood there. And then to complete shock the woman turned round to me and very rudely said “what do ya want”! This place is so unprofessional, they had moody expressions the entire time I was in there, they didn’t utter a word of conversation to me and looked at me like I was stupid! The milkshake was gorgeous, I got the banana and it was delicious but I just wouldn’t want to go back because of the service! Extremely rude and blunt staff, not worth it whatsoever

Treated very badly, have been in before and the staff were lovely but today I was appalled at the behaviour of the staff. In future I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Fashionable up to date and clean

We have visited here a few times as the cakes are delish and have noticed the same issues with the staff. After our last visit I really need to comment on the service. Upon arrival we were seated. The three girls were busy serving one male with a cup of coffee. I decided to go to to the counter to place my order but was ushered straight back to my seat. One of the girls came over and took our order without once cracking a tiny bit of a smile. Really does not set the mood!! The desserts were brought over and dropped onto the table, again not a smile to be seen!! One of them was incorrect so I went up to the counter, it was taken from me and I was told it would be brought over which, to be fair, it was. However, while we were eating a group of young men came in! Surprisingly there were suddenly lots of smiles and laughter from the three ladies serving. It wouldn’t hurt to give the kids a little smile too!! Cakes are lovely but the staff are bringing the place down!!

Tremendous cookie dough & ice cream,great place

Three stars based on surroundings alone. The main door was wedged open constantly by the staff, despite customers closing it and despite a very cold draft blowing through. The sundae was very nice although the spoon provided was not a sundae spoon and I could not scrape the bottom of the glass.

Nice ice cream shame you can't get a 2 waffle deal

I’ve been here twice, and both times the service for takeout was very efficient and friendly enough. Scoop sizes are generous, and the ice cream’s delicious; the flavours taste authentic, and in no way false or artificial. Decor’s tasteful, and the prices are very reasonable; for ice cream, I’d say this place is better than Lickety Split. I haven’t tried the waffles or other foods though, so can’t comment or compare them.

This was our first time here and from the outside it looks like a small ice cream shop, then as you go in it gets bigger and bigger. The girls were really nice and said that due to it being so busy the wait for a table for 4 would a 5-10 minutes, but it was only a few minutes. Once the table was ready we were given the menu and the kids all picked waffles. I just got a diet Coke being on a diet but the ice creams all looked delicious. The kids really struggled to eat the massive portions of waffles, Nutella, cream and ice cream. I can't believe that we have never been here before, but we will definitely go back (especially when I am not a diet!!!)

We visited yesterday on our way home from a day out, we'd normally go to Lickety Split but the queues were out of the door so we thought we'd give this a try.I really wish we'd never bothered, the ice cream is okay but the service couldn't be worse if it tried!!!We went in planning to sit down and have a sundae but the older lady behind the counter assumed we wanted to take it away, her manner is awful, we decided just to but two tubs but we weren't asked if we'd like toppings, sauce or wafers, despite them being directly in front of her!! The place was almost empty and judging from the glacial reception we received I can see why!!Next time I'll wait in the queue at Lickety Split with everyone else!!

First time visit and will definitely go back. It was very popular and busy but the girls working there worked fast. They were very polite, pleasant and professional. Good service goes a long way. You had the option of eating in, just outside as the folding doors were open or have takeout. It was hard to make a choice because of the amount of flavours that were available.

We visited this place today and was very very disappointed with the service today first one of the girls dropped a glass and it shattered every where even hit myself and went all over the seat and table I had two small children with me and no one came over and see if we where ok as we where all covered in glass 4 staff members did clean it up quick but no one came to clean our table we had to say it all over the seats and table then When I went to pay the tried to over charge me I said no that’s not right she had the wrong table again no sorry was given to me I mentioned the glass was all over me the girl on the till was oblivious and went ah sorry I spent over £25 there and will never go again staff training need!!!!
