I really don't understand why this hotel has such good reviews and ratings. I requested a good room in advance because of my late check-in due to my flight, but I only got a reply and was assigned to a stuffy first-floor room. The hallway smelled, the room manager's room was small and uncomfortable, and there were no advantages other than the good location. I didn't receive any service, so I have nothing to say.

An outstanding hotel with excellent service and a luxurious ambience. The staff was always friendly, professional and very attentive. My room was spacious, stylishly furnished and offered a fantastic view. Everything was spotlessly clean and thought out down to the last detail. I felt completely comfortable and can warmly recommend this hotel. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Visited for afternoon tea. My sister had booked in advance. The price our server gave when we sat down was £20 more per person than when it was booked. When my sister questioned it, the server said she had seen the lower price next to our booking. So I thought it was a bit bad that she'd then tried to hike the price

The hotel is fine, just massively overpriced. I paid £400/night and stayed in the tiniest room I've ever stayed in. On top of that I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. Then on checkout they charge you an "optional" £15/night service fee as room cleaning gratuity. Just pay your staff a proper salary, rather than tacking on junk fees. The cookies in the room on arrival was a nice touch.

We stayed at the Montague on the Gardens for 4 nights on our trip to London last month. It is a beautiful, classic and historic hotel with exceptional customer service. The location is unbeatable, very walkable and right across from the British Museum. Will stay again next time I am in London.

I can not say enough good things about Montague on the Gardens! This is one of the hardest working Hotel staffs I have ever seen. They were always about asking if they could help, opening doors, hailing cabs. Gathering luggage, making recommendations, showing us how to use the aircon at 1:00 a.m. (lol) they were seriously the best! They truly made our stay in London wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable. The beds had excellent Linens and were very comfy. slept so well. The bathrooms have been updated and have a very nice rain shower. Very clean. The room has all the amenities you would need from a pants press to a hair dryer. The air con was a lifesaver during the heat wave while we were there. You must try the Leopard Bar. The patio is stunning in the evenings overlooking Russell Square. Great for drinks and appetizers! The location was stellar! Just around the corner from the British Museum and less than a mile from sooo many things! Very walkable! Would absolutely return to stay at the Montague again! ❤️❤️❤️

Confortable suits, variety of places to enjoy meals, the breakfast service is included in the price of the suite and it’s a very vast and tasty buffet. Great quality of service of all the hotel staff! The location is beside the British museum and several restaurants and stores. Special call out to Rigie the mixologist of the leopard bar! He found the exact combination of the margaritas that we get from a certain place in Mexico 🇲🇽 Oh! And this hotel welcome us with a plate of patisseries (in our room) due to our wedding anniversary and every night of our stay we had a plate with chocolates - a very nice gesture of hospitality - thanks for your kind of attention 🙏

Affordable option near the British Museum. You are close to other attractions, laundry and metro station The rooms are a little small what are used in other Countries, however their bed are very comfortable and the service is great. They provide breakfast (traditional English Breakfast or American Breakfast).

Upon our arrival we were told that we would be able to enjoy the continental breakfast beginning the next morning. However, when we entered the dining room the hostess checked our reservation and loudly announced that we were not so entitled. Quite embarrassing! Otherwise, the staff was wonderful and very accommodating; especially India who helped us sort out what I observed was a common problem with the keys not working. Other suggestions: Amenities of fresh fruit instead of fancy candies would be more appropriate today; Available coffee or tea in the lobby for daylight hours- the rooms are too small and crowded (even the “suites”) to drag out the coffee maker. Finally, the bathrooms are treacherous as the shower inside the tall tub requires agility and good balance to access. Some may find this hotel “charming,” but we did not find it worth the exorbitant cost. No need for a public response management.

The Montague and their wonderful service made my visit to London everything I dreamed of and more. From the moment you arrive, they graciously cater to your every want and need. Would you like a cup of tea? In the morning, there's a tea cart, and in the afternoon, you can select from a series of beautiful bars, patios, enclosed verandas with a garden view, and you can have a simple cup, cream tea, or full afternoon tea. This is because they change the tea/coffee cart into an absolutely divine hot chocolate bar. I planned my days around an afternoon rest and hot chocolate at the hotel. Partly this was so I could consult with the concierge desk, who planned far better outings than I could have on my own. They'll make reservations at the best places to eat, tell you what to do or see nearby, suggest lovely walks or shops, and then summon a car for you...truly expert guides on everything. Plus, the rooms are absolutely lovely and beautifully appointed. They welcome you with fresh cookies and provide a tasty little something during the turndown service. The location is perfect; right across from the British museum and a short walk to the main tourist attractions. But also somehow very quiet, private, and restorative. Puffy linens, comfortable mattress and pillows, and blackout curtains promise a good night's sleep. The bathroom was post and spacious (although I wish the water got a bit hotter). It just doesn't get any better.

This has been one of my favorite hotel stays ever. More than anything it was the wonderful and courteous staff that made our stay special. Our room was nice and well maintained, the breakfast was very good, the afternoon tea and bar was so convenient, and the location was perfect for us. But the friendly and helpful staff made every part of the experience better.

The true original English hotel. The location and facilities are truly superb for this hotel, which provides an immersive experience in English style. The hotel is very elegant and charming but you never have the feeling that you are in the wrong place because the staff is very courteous and empathetic. Probably the only thing that could be improved is the room: it is very small. In short, the Montague on the Gardens is an excellence!

Over the moon that we booked my Wife's Birthday Celebration break at the Montague. We have been made so welcome. Handmade Birthday cards and cakes from the Staff, who are so incredibly friendly and warm. The food is wonderful and we were astonished at being upgraded to a beautiful Suite. As first timers, we were also treated to a tour of the hotel. Full marks and love from myself and Mrs P. xx

Vaya. Bravo!
