Bottomless brunch - food was mediocre as was the service but it was enmasse.... atmosphere was fab, great venue 😊

Went for a Country themed bottomless brunch. Had an amazing time. Food lovely, drinks aplenty! Great atmosphere. Staff very polite and attentive. Music, live singer and dancers were fabulous. Can't wait to go back!

Can't give 0 stars - I paid £60 for tickets on the 19th for DJ Spoony - the date was changed- I can't make the changed date- they haven't replied to my emails or call or messages - essentially stealing £60 from me.

The things that show on the website menu are not available, that was a big bummer for me , we had to order something different than what we wanted .

Amazing food and cocktails. If you are in the area definitely recommend going here.

What an amazing place, from the owners & management, bar staff & bouncers .... Everyone created such an amazing atmosphere last Saturday on the day that ITFC got promoted. We only had drinks, but the cocktails were fantastic. Well done to the whole Moloko team!

We decided to go for drinks at Moloko, but upon arrival, I couldn't resist checking out their restaurant upstairs. It was absolutely beautiful, with stunning flower displays and an inviting setup that I just had to capture in a photo. We enjoyed our drinks and even hit the dance floor, as the DJ played some fantastic Afrobeat tunes. I'm definitely planning to visit again to try out their food!

Latest Review: I usually like to update my reviews once I’ve given a place a second visit; after all flukes do happen possible. We were quite exited to eat here again after our very positive first experience, but unfortunately this does happen to be one of those cases: Moloko has not measured up the second time around. We were the first of two tables that we saw done at the restaurant. It was not crowded at all. Firstly when we made our drink order, one of our party did not receive her drink. It took over half an hour for her to get her cola. Once it arrived , one of our party found hair in her food. Another didn’t receive the vegetables listed on the menu along with her main. The dish was taken away, and once it came back (after a long while), it was paired with cold vegetables on the side. Finally a third of our party ordered extra potatoes, and didn’t receive them at all. Out of four people served, three had issues with their meals. This is a big, big drop in quality over the last time. Moloko clearly has a consistency issue. Whilst the food with the hair was taken off of the bill, it’s impossible to ignore the overall drop in quality. Unfortunately for the price of the food a consistently positive experience is expected. 1:2 meals of quality is insufficient for the price we were charged. I will likely not come here again. You can read my previous review below, but following this second experience I no longer believe it conveys a realistic portrayal of Moloko. Previous Review: The dishes I had the fortune to try were the lamb rump, and the chicken supreme. Each dish was superb - the lamb was perfect, and the chicken supreme creamy and delicious. For a place we ended up at by accident, The Moloko turned out to be a bit of a hidden gem. Will definitely look to eat there again!

A little gem tucked away in the heart of the town centre.

Lovely food… crazy long drink waits.. amongst others I ordered some wine with my food and only arrived when the food was finished… despite the restaurant being empty. The staff then apologise and gave a drink to someone else ( that she didn’t like.. ). Not the best!

Service was extremely slow, we were in at 20:30 and it was quiet. Took an age to eat drinks. A good 2 for 1 offer up until 9pm, however service was so slow it's very difficult to take advantage of the offer.

OH GOD not gonna forget that night anytime soon. Great place! Nice friendly staff and good music from a top DJ though the next morning your bank account is gonna take a hit. I'll go back one day as had a good night but when I've got money to burn, which is hardly ever.

My friends and I arrived at 9:55pm on a Friday evening out celebrating my engagement. We were warmly welcomed by the security staff but the girls behind the bar were completely disinterested and we had to get their attention to order, we were also the only ones in the bar area, it was very quiet. We read that they had 2for1 cocktails until 10pm on Friday and Saturday so kindly asked for some. The girl said it was past 10pm and when we politely showed her it was 9:58pm she then said the menu was wrong and 2for1 finished at 9pm, with attitude. We left immediately to somewhere with better atmosphere and polite bar staff. We sadly won’t be returning.

Nice place to go for night out. But unfortunately nowhere to charge your vape or mobile phone.

Wouldn’t return, the staff seemed unhappy and the food wasn’t great, certainly not worth the price - a weekend night and only a handful of tables occupied! Really disappointing

Went here for a night out and the atmosphere was dead. Been more than once just to try it and it's still not somewhere I would recommend. We had a little dance in here once but we decided once we went here it was time to go back to where we left!

really nice restaurant, we had nice cocktail and few dishes from the tapas menu. I would highly recommend meatballs in tomato sauce and the ribs! Delicious

We were going to a show at the Corn Exchange & wanted an early dinner somewhere convenient first. The Moloko is certainly convenient as only a couple of minutes walk away & had the added attraction of Spanish food which two of us really like. Proved to be a really good choice. We ordered 9 different small plates to share between the three of us & I found nothing I didn't like (& having eaten more than a few very good meals in Spain I can be a bit picky). Pleasant & friendly staff & the wine & cocktails all good too. If I had one criticism, the restaurant was a little cold although to be fair it was very early evening so maybe hadn't had time to warm up yet. Will definitely be returning,

Came for dinner, a nice restaurant idea but the food wasn’t the best a little bit cold, and nothing wow, recommend the pork bites off the tapas menu but not much else from what we tried, serving staff left us 45 mins with empty plates before we asked for dessert, but pleasant enough to talk to when asked anything, maybe a little more staff training needed? Would return in 6months or so to see if it’s improved or we had an unlucky night before a proper rating, hospitality is a tough gig, especially this time of year

This is one of my favourite restaurants. We had 4 adults in our group and opted for the seafood share plate for 4. The meal was just so amazing and full of lovely seafood options, mussels, salmon, octopus, prawns and more. Alongside this we shared the spicy pork ribs as a starter. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and the serving staff surprised us with a strawberry cheese cake and candle/sparkler. This was a wonderful gesture. Again, we had a brilliant meal and I thoroughly recommend this place if you like tapas-style dining. You have to try it to believe it.

It was a bit quiet but nice all the same.

Disappointing service, had to remind staff we were missing dishes. The bread we order for starters took forever, some main courses came first and when the bread did arrive it was frozen in the middle. For the cost, the quality and service was far from what we expected!

Strange place. Restaurant is above a noisy bar pumping music. We were the only people in the restaurant to start with and service was still terrible. Staff stood in the corner looking bored, talking to each other. Strange decoration that doesn’t fit the food in the slightest. Food was below average. Would avoid.

The evening is shocking. Road man kids giving the big one, door staff non existent, even if they are about, they couldn’t wrestle a skin off a ride pudding. Definitely won’t go back.

If you like shocking music while being in an overly, possibly unsafe, packed bar this is the place for you. Won't come back here in a hurry tbh. Heard that the brunch is nice but not been so can't judge

My sister was in town for a show that we were seeing so we wanted to visit somewhere a bit different. As soon as I saw paella on the menu I suggested this place as we both love it. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who showed us upstairs. We ordered the seafood paella as soon as we sat down as I had read that it takes 30mins to prepare. Whilst we were waiting we both ordered a bread dish. Mine was bruschetta and it was very nice. We both also ordered a cocktail each. I had the Bramble. Again very nice. The paella came pretty swiftly and we were pleasantly surprised. I had read some reviews prior to our visit stating that it was too small or not cooked authentically but we both really enjoyed it. It had lots of very nice flavours and all of the seafood was cooked to perfection. The portion size was perfect for us too, in fact we couldn't finish it. The prices were very reasonable and every staff member that we came across was very friendly. The decor and overall vibe of the places was very nice too and it has a generally welcoming atmosphere. I'd really recommend if you're in town and you fancy something a bit different to the normal chain restaurants. It's not the cheapest place in town but if you're just after some decent quality food you really get what you pay for. I'd definitely visit again

Good cocktails, friendly staff and fair priced.

This place is a hidden gem. A great place. Great staff. Lovely food . And atmosphere is great not a student location. Great for professionals to hold events and let their hair down in the evening. During the day the food is great for a lunch, afternoon tea or dinner upstairs. Their outside area is so versatile . The decor is new and being updated.. it is just floral and makes you smile. Just a hidden gem that rivals the bigger botanists just round the corner. If you are looking for a professional and well priced place with lovely service and not a huge price tag of thousands I would really recommend this gem especially if like me I hate being shunned or table watched . The groupon is good value as you can actually have a quiet conversation in a calm environment. It is a gem well worth it . Take a wonder and have a cocktail tree or a mocktail

We went to Moloko for afternoon tea as my husband found a deal on Groupon and we hadn’t ever been there. The afternoon tea was served upstairs in the dining room which is very nicely decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was extremely nice, the pots of tea were excellent ( as a lover of a good strong cup of tea I am often disappointed when out & about but Molokos tea is exactly to my liking) and the service was perfect, attentive and polite. We will definitely return, both for afternoon tea and to try the brunch and lunch menu

Went at around 1am, so I can't fully review the place. Reasonably priced, but was absolutely rammed, so movement of any kind was a challenge. Door staff were friendly, but effective. I was confidently told that it's really nice during daytime hours for lunch and drinks and they have a really great outdoor area which can be covered by a moving roof system. Very cool.

Such such good tapas and well priced menu. Really good vibes. Only went for dinner but by the time we finished two bottles of wine the DJ had started and we ended up staying for hours dancing. Great night out

This place needs to close down as soon as possible. How disappointing! The staff are so unfriendly, cant even smile and make you feel like a nuisance. I bought 2 drinks that came to £18.50 but was told before hand it would be £14 so that's 4.50 for a bit of lemonade -I don't think so. What an embarrassment, no improvement on aqua 8. Let's hope it moves on to some more deserving owners very soon. Absolutely miserable. Move over, this is not your correct career path. Give up.

Con complete rip off. Waited ages for each order. Paid £35 for bottomless cocktails but only just managed to get 4 weak cocktails out of them. I even complained about waiting so long for each drink and was just stared at. Then when we requested one more drink we were told we were out of time. CON AND NEVER GOING BACK THERE. Everything is all just for show. The tapas was also s*** and a rip off

We went for a cocktails and a bit of dance. It was nice surrounding, good choice of drinks. However, I was expecting a little more. Service haven't impressed. I would not pay as much for the drinks again either.

We booked for my sister’s hen meal and evening. Zoe, the owner was very helpful when booking. I specified it was for a hen party and that we would be staying the night and asked to reserve seats downstairs after our meal which she was more than happy to do. The food was lovely, very well presented and tasted amazing. The atmosphere downstairs was fantastic. It did get really busy towards the end of the night so took a while to get served at the bar but that’s to be expected at a popular place on a Saturday night! Will definitely be visiting again. I’m a quarter Spanish & came with my full Spanish friend for cocktails & tapas. Despite the restaurant being fully booked they made room for us, which we were especially grateful for as we had already been turned away elsewhere. We even had the pleasure of being served by the owner of the establishment, she was fab & friendly & even listened to our advice on how to make it even more like Spain. The food & drinks were delicious & I really liked the decor of the place. The staff were all cheerful & helpful despite being very busy on a Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be returning!

Birthday brunch gathering was really enjoyable the food was lovely and the staff were attentive. Zoe looked after us and the birthday girl very well. I opted for the avocado on sour dough with poached eggs which were lovely followed by a very nice strawberry daiquiri which went down a treat. Will definitely be returning 😊

Stumbled across this restaurant by accident at lunchtime with my daughter and family. Popped in to try a lunch. We had such a lovely experience here. Tapas was amazing and cocktails are the best I have ever had. Great customer service and food. Will definitely be going back to this restaurant, brilliant.

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago and can not wait to go back. Venue 5* music 5* cocktails 5* and staff 5* Zoe and her team could not do enough for us, highly recommend.

We have had many vists and have been thoroughly impressed eachtime, service and food is fabulous, perfect place for either a date night or a group of friends. The bottomless brunches are also great fun, and will be booking on more! Weldone zoe and team a great place to go.

Went there this Easter weekend with my children who are 30 and live in London, we were all impressed with service, food and fantastic vibes. My girls were so happy there is a place in Ipswich that is not just norm, we will all visit again very soon and take more friends with. Terrible service both at the bar and in the restaurant

Not impressed since this changed from Aqua8. Bottomless brunch was not really worth it, as staff are very slow on approaching for drinks orders. Constant queue for two tiny loos, and one young barman (who seemed to think he was in a London cocktail bar) was rude to our party. Wouldn’t go back.

Great place for oldies like us (35+). Great staff, clean and on the evening i as there music from the 80's and 90's. It may be different music on other nights.

Went here for bottomless brunch and wasn't really worth the money we paid for. The portions were too small, and the staff were really stingy with the "bottomless drinks". The lady that was serving, which seemed to be the "supervisor" was very unfriendly and difficult to deal with, it looked like she was doing us a huge favour every time we asked for assistance. She definitely made sure she was slowing down her staff, so they wouldn't have to serve our group a lot of drinks. Overall, I was really disappointed with the experience, which is a shame because the restaurant has so much potential as their ambience is gorgeous.

Not great first experience. Yes, it was NYE but not hugely busy in comparison to pre COVID time. Bar staff seriously disorganised and very slow so queue was 6 deep. There were plenty of staff, just doing 'stuff'. Stayed for one drink and used their outdoor area for a seat. Venue has some nice seating arrangements so lots of choice. But sadly, won't be running back for another visit.

Went here for a night out last weekend. Their attempt at searching people was laughable, they flashed a torch in girls bags and that was it. So we didn't really feel safe as they weren't searching men. Waited over half and hour for a cocktail but was then told they weren't serving cocktails as it was still busy. They probably should have taken all of the cocktail menus of the bar in that case. Eventually with drink in hand we went to see what the dance floor was like outside, the music was a strange dance track that never really ended, not proper songs. After one drink we left.

We with some friends, the food was really lovely, but we all found it so noisy in the restaurant and could barely hear each other talking. There was no big noisy parties but very off-putting. Another friend said they found this on another night.

Great food, excellent service, food was on the table within minutes. Slightly lost attention once food was served but overall loved it and will be going back soon.

The paella was nice and good value when bought as a sharing platter. Really enjoyed it, however charging £3+ for three small pieces of bread is extortionate. Don't get me wrong they tasted good, but blimey! I would visit again, but think the pricing of appetizers needs to be looked at.

The food was lovely, and it's a lovely looking place. However, the majority of staff were not attentive and don't seem very experienced. We were sat upstairs and it felt like sitting in a canteen as it was really noisey Cut our bottomless brunch short to go elsewhere for drinks because of the slow service

Directly form outside ….. I went there (as usual) with a friend of mine. No tables were available and we were asked to come back in 30 minutes so we did. After being back The security guy stopped us on the doorsteps checking with a flashlight my friend’s trousers for 5 minutes. He than decided that my friend’s trousers where not smart enough and asked us to go. This is how they treat usual customers .

The staff were really friendly… but the food and drinks were way overpriced. The portion sizes for the tapas were tiny. Not worth it wouldn’t go again.

Friendly staff, food is alright if you want a quick bite but we didn't feel it was worth the money you pay. It all felt a little basic. Atmosphere was lacking and we felt we were in a cafe upstairs rather than a nice restaurant. Cocktails were lovely though.

Food was absolutely lovely even after not getting what we ordered,service very poor as if they couldn't be bothered and then the bill arrived,after pointing out we didn't get what we ordered they still charged us for the incorrect order plus a extra pint at £5,After bringing it to ther attention they corrected the bill so I paid and left with no "thank you for dining with us please come again" I would of rather taken my £170 to domino's where they would of said thank you.

Way overpriced with extremely small portions, food wasn't even particularly nice and some dishes had to be returned, music so loud you can't comfortably talk over the top of it although the DJ was really good, customer service shocking and certain staff members quite rude. The whole place doesn't seem to run very smoothly so I dread to think how it will be after restrictions ease. Lovely cocktails though! Wouldn't return again other than maybe for a quick drink!
