Minerva never disappoints us. Ordered so many times in Howden, now in craigshill and still best service. Best food to take away. I won’t change you ever . The chef is lovely and always aprochable. Keep the good work guys!

Chips and cheese made me sick waste of a tenner

This place wins the worst chippy for me. Whoever has taken over needs to hang their head in shame, they've ran it downhill. Whilst the shop looks fantastic, the food and dour staff really let the place down. Priority is given to online orders, so expect to wait. Soggy bland mush for chips, even with salt and sauce they were bogging. Genuinely disappointed as this was a cracking chippy not so long ago.

Drive about 50 mile round trip to visit this place. Excellent

The food was lovely so fresh.This is my go to chippy by far & tried most in Livingston and been let down so many times I highly recommend.

I just had chips they were greasy, and they're pretty poor as far as chips shop chips go.

Place used to be amazing, it’s went downhill. Food took over an hour to arrive, I live 5 mins away. Curry sauce was watered down, chips were cold, sausage was mushy and the food generally looked ill. Won’t be back, very disappointing

Food delivered cold if you want hot food I wouldn’t buy from here I’ll never be ordering again guys sort it out you were good once upon a time I would give zero stars but wouldn’t let me

Ordered from scoffable at 3 45 phoned after an hour to be told they had some difficulties my order was on its way , another half hour later phoned again was told the same story it finally arrived over 2 hours from ordering , food was only just warm , will definitely not be ordering from here again .....appalling service

I ordered a steak supper I’m 51 disabled I was looking on app and I thought there taking a while I looked on app it said enjoy your food I never received my order £10 I’ve tried calling but no one is picking up

Large and clean looking place inside. The bloke serving was really helpful explaining some of the bits and pieces already cooked behind the glass. All three for ordered was fine. Nothing amazing but fine. Free parking out front. Was fascinating watching the people come out the place next door where you can go and burn your skin with UV radiation.

Order 1st time from them turn out its last time.. only writing this review becouse lady on the phone said missing item will be delivered in 10 minutes as deliver stand by and I m only 7 minutes away but no one turns up... I don't know why she needs to lie like this...

This place has went downhill big time. Used to be good. Not anymore. Staff are really cheeky and dont look the cleanest. Stay clear of it.

I tried this shop few years ago and didn’t like it so never went back until recently. The food is beautiful never yet been let down. There kebabs are second to none. Always delivered hot.

Please everyone avoid this rubbish place...order fish and chips/chicken kebab, they come only with very dry fish and a couple of chips...kebab with dry and completely burnt chicken. Never order from this place again AVOID please

Wish I could leave a review with NO stars. Ordered via app at 6pm with 40 minutes delivery time. Received no updates and they don’t answer their phone so no way of knowing if it order went through. Decided just to make something to eat at 7.10. Then it arrived at 7.40! Whilst we were eating. Didn’t open it. Straight in the bin! Will NEVER USE MINERVA AGAIN.

Delivery is pathetic had to wait and still waiting now for food that is simple to make obviously delivery drivers don’t know how to deliver or drive

An amazing chippy. Pizzas are awesome. Sometimes a bit stingy with sauce on their chips. Great delivery.

We have ordered from them twice and been disappointed. First time we ordered hoggies and they were missing sauce and other parts. This time we ordered two Donner and cheese burgers and they were both missing donner. It's a shame because the food is tasty just annoying that ordered aren't complete and full price is paid.

This place used to be great, second time in a row its been rotten, kebab is tasteless salty mess, even the chips were terrible, how can a chip shop get chips so wrong.

Love it. Always really good food and the staff can't do more for you.

Food is excellent but 50p for ordering then £2.50 delivery charge for less than a mile is a joke.

Ordered a cheese burger supper in batter to only recieve 1 burger which turned out to be a plain battered burger with no cheese

Usually really good from minerva... But unfortunately tonight. My food was below standard. The chips and fried pizza were cold, there were no vinegar and salt on my pizza. And the only edible part was the chicken. And the cold chips.... That I didn't order with my pizza made my Fried pizza cold and inedible. Only managed to have a couple of bites out of it before it went in the bin!

Absolute joke orderd thro scoffable took the last of my money the minerva cancelled my order said they couldn't deliver scoffable said it takes 5 days to go in to my bank now i have no food and no money 2 get anything else disgusting never use them again

Damn good...came all the way from falkirk for a decent takeaway...it's the only thing I wish I could've took with me when I moved lol falkirk's takeaway scene is seriously lacking 😫

Order fish and chips, average quality for a reasonable price. If I was the owner, I will improve the taste starting with floury coating, the fish tasted blend.

Chips where fantastic, with a garden bench outside to eat them, superb experience.

Popped in as just finished work and was feeling hungry thought i would try the new Minerva chip shop Nicely refurbished and was confident it would be a fine tasting supper how wrong I was got home 3 mins from the shop so not far opened up the box to find it was cold how we were so disappointed So my advice is to give it a miss unless you like your supper cold

I went to the shop tuesday got the scotsman pizza portion of chips.the pizza had tiny amount of haggis really nothing on it chip portion was tiny.also found the girl who served me really if she couldnt be bothered i stay in bathgate if i wasnt so far away i would have returned it

Staff seem friendly but the foods gone downhill since changing hands, won't be back tried it a few times not even close to the shop it was shame though

Great place for a quick bite or if your after a bit of supper, they offer delivery on the fast food ordering apps also you can phone ahead for collection. They also offer desert some ice cream to top off a good munch. There are protective screens in place at till area for safety.

Ordered a collection of a half cheese/half chicken & pepper 16" pizza and portion of fritters... One of the counter girls mis-heard me when I asked for vinegar on my fritters and put brown sauce on them but I let that slide, as I didn't wanna make a fuss over sauce. Got home with our order and the whole pizza was chicken, therefore the enitre order is wrong, so I phoned up and they said they would deliver the correct order. About 30 mins later the correct order came and to our disappointment the pizza was horrible and the fritters were dripping in the grease to the point there was a pool of grease at the bottom of the tub. The pizza was soggy and loaded with a ridiculous amount of topping, not to mention the poor quality of the chicken. We hadn't eaten all day and was looking forward to our pizza, to be left still hungry and feeling sick from the very little we managed to eat. Doesn't surprise me to read that Minerva has taken on new owners because it never used to be this low quality.

Wish I didn't have to give 1 star. This place deserves no praise. Spent £100s (too much 😆) with Minerva over the past few months. Food has always been great, staff brilliantly helpful and polite and deliveries always on time - if not early. The buy 10 get 1 free promotion was excellent value however... after receiving our "1 more order to your free meal" text we ordered our qualifying meal on 09.09.20 we didn't receive the usual code, value and expiry text. We phoned today to enquire and "the manager" told us that his boss had taken over the business a month and a half ago or more and, he's no longer honouring the deal as it's the old owner's deal (we've received 6 deal texts within that general timescale)! Absolute con. Happy for the texts to go out and doing nothing about it but not happy to honour the deal. Bit weird that the only text not received was the one including the free order details. Attitude of the manager was 'don't care'. We were averaging £160-£220 a month. Money which will now be spent elsewhere.

Absolutely angry is a understatement ordered food at 8pm now on 21.28pm on the 28th August food order got missed up then got told delivery driver would bring rest off order and still waiting phoned chippy up and nothing but attauide on the phone from staff never order from this chippy worst chippy I've ever been to

Went in two nights ago ordered a small kebab and a sausage supper, my boyfriends food was absolutely fine even better than what it usually is, however my kebab was absolutely freezing (I stay in the street across from the chippy) so I politely took it back walked in and said sorry this meat is cold could I just get a fresh one with the salad on the side since it was fresh salad out the fridge. The man that made my food came up and TOLD me it wasn’t cold and processed to grab all the meat in his hand and showed me the bottom and TOLD me to touch it to prove it was WARM. Now I also work in catering and customer service therefore I know a level that should be maintained. Never in my life as a paying customer I’ve been told I’m wrong. The guy was so rude and passive aggressive and had I not had my mum there I reckon he would of been even more rude as a young girl it was intimidating to be spoken to that way by a man. I will never step foot in your shop again. As people who have just taken over a business I would expect yous to be trying to build up a relationship with the surrounding community. Joe is a passive aggressive arse and shouldn’t have took it personally guy needs and attitude check

Because of self isolating ordered a takeaway tonight. Delivery charge £2 and service charge 50p. Queried this service charge was told everyone charges (this not true) after further questions told it was to cover advertising. Home delivery subsidises their advertising. That will be my last time using Minerva. Disgraceful

First time ever ordering from this place and will be last. Ordered king rib supper. Delivery wasn’t bad at all BUT... The chips were luke warm with no salt n vinegar, The king rib was like hard in the middle and soggy on the outside and when I asked for a refund apparently the boss wasn’t in and couldn’t make such transactions. Offered to send another but still won’t be returning. 2/10

Food took over 2hours to come to be freezing cold and chips were only half a portion I had ordered sauce and was told to have 60p ready for the driver as I had payed for everything else by card...... the driver asked for the money and never came me any of my sauces and that fact I have to pay for brown sauce is terrible....kebab tasted old and off... will not be ordering from here again

Waited 1hr 57 mins for our chippy, this was after phoning when an hour had passed to be told was on its way!!!!! 57 mins later it arrives. So sat down with family to eat guess what it was freezing. Very disappointed and 1 star is too much pity can't give no stars.

Bought large special fish supper...have always had 2 pieces of fish - it even states it on their online menu - 2 pieces. But i got 1 average sized piece of fish for the cost of a full large supper. The chips were awful too...lots of black bits on chips. Phoned and was advised the one piece of fish was large enough and was classed as a large supper. Can't believe they are being so stingy!!! I have bought from you many many times over the years. I will not be back!!

Used to be such good quality food. But lately, the chips have been limp, and the fish batter has been thick and non-crispy. I have faith that they will pull it back, so will try again at intervals.

Always buy a takeaway from here. Its local to me, the prices are good and the food is delicious!

Came here years ago when aunt lived in Howden, revisited for first time in 20 years and enjoyed the food, quick service and easy parking.

You want a fantastic fish supper go there 2 fish nd chips 6.50 brill

Ordered my meals at 5.55 for it to be delivered to my old address (through no fault of my own), the driver arguing in the phone that he is at my front door (he clearly wasn't when I was), I phone the shop at 6.50 to request fresh meals, for my original meals to turn up and be sent away for the fresh one. It's now 7.36 and I am still waiting for my meals with no apologies. Never ever had an issue, use the chip shop regularly. Tonight has annoyed me!

I have gave 1 star because this was once was a fantastic chip shop could not fault it . Have been a good customer for as long as it's been open moved house 3 times and still we continue to to come hear .... But today we have as a family desides to say good bye for good 😭😭 This decision was maid on 🤔Hair found in are food not just once 🤔Pizzas are soggy as hell 🤔Pizza being rushed burnt at times 🤔food in General has gone down hill 🤔 calazon burnt and not done right 🤔 fish supper batter soggy and tastes of other foods Now we are not complainers we eat any thing ... To call up the place and personally being talk to like proper idiots of the manager and the poor lass behind the call being spoke to as if she's not a member of there team. The language is out of order Some times we have sat for over 1hour and 30 minuits called to be told driver has left and 2 hours later arrives.. cold So I would say step up your food game as we would order 3 times a week even more at the price from 10 to 80 in 1 order Well good luck we are taking are business somewhere else

Amazing chippy, made us a Mars bar pizza after we were refused by marmaris in craigshill despite them making us one before. The pizza was immense, cooked to perfection and an excellent complement to the melted caramel, chocolate and nougat from the chocolate bar. The pizza itself would have been a great meal but the way they followed our limited instructions flawlessly to a 'bang on' standard left us more than impressed. If you want to try this wonderful Scottish delicacy away from home then I recommend you try one from here as the one we tried was so good it was as if they'd been making them for years. Excellent meal that really filled a spot, our only regret was leaving it too late to order another one tonight.

on Tuesdays in our high-school the worst dish is served. So every Tuesday I try out a takeaway. Last Monday I tried this takeaway. I ordered Chicken & Mushroom Pizza. Fresh ingredients. Delivery with fair time interval. Highly Recommended 2 my dormitory friends and everyone in this area.

I wouldn't rate the delivery of food as we ordered a simple margherita pizza as part of our order, which took our delivery over an hour to get here which is understandable for a weekend delivery but the pizza was black an soild to the point were the dog wouldn't even entertain it.. An order that was placed at 8:15 for a pizza which took till after 10 to arrive an being told the delivery driver has left, an you would expect with it being a bad service of food they would make some exception to have the new ordered delivered out soon not an extra hour an bits wait on top of what we have already waited.

We like this shop for their amazing food, actually they are quite famous in Livingston for great food and service! Defo would recommend!

We order from Minerva on the fairly regularlyX although some changes have been made which haven’t been positive in my opinion. I digress. This was a mixed experience.* Sadly, even though there was email confirmation and a complete receipt received from the takeaway, there were full suppers, along with a few additional items that were missing. This was already a late order after waiting 1:40 minutes for it to arrive, so most are what was there and shared. This also made me question whether our order had actually been forgotten until we called just after an hour in to check on it. I contacted Minerva directly, close to on closing time based on the fact that by the time we’d even got the food, if I’d called then the outcome would have been the same. The lady who answered the phone had clearly had a long, tiring shift but was still absolutely welcoming, pleasant and appropriately apologetic on the phon. Once all was explained, the boss made the decision he’d send the missing food in the morning. I said that was no use to him or us, plus it didn’t address the issue of the poorly cooked Calzone which was blamed on a new pizza chef. We’ve agreed on a credit note AFAIK, but 3 stars at the moment for the great service from the young lady on the front desk, will edit to 5 starts depending on any issues with credit note. Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish to discuss this further and confirm exactly how much that credit note will be for :) **Please understand the food we did receive was hot, well fried, crispy and not greasy at all - Though an experienced fry chef can certainly knock those up with little to no effort.**

Used to love this food years ago growing up. As a family we wouldn't go anywhere else but now I don't go to it. Last half dozen orders were wrong or cold so couldn't be eaten. The pizzas used to be amazing but it's just a stodgy mess with dry toppings as bit enough cheese on pizza. Was the best chippy going but not anymore

Ask for a cheeseburger, you'll get a deep fried haggis. Apparently that's normal.

We ordered shish kebabs and they arrived raw. After we called and spoke to the shop, they sent us (without any problem) a new meal but we ate the chips before we got it. The salad was just roughly chopped (very big pieces) of cabbage and some tomato with no dressing or anything on it. I would not order there again for the fear of another mishap.

Absolutely disgusting! Cold and tasteless, home made steak pie (the pastry is RAW)!!! Chips were cold and left an awful greasy taste in mouth! Do yourself a favour and don’t order from here....
