Hui En in West Lothian

Great food. I have used several times. Would always recommend but my last order will be my last unfortunately. Delivery driver didn't deliver the juice I paid for. When calling up about this, was told she said she did deliver it? Apparently it was all bagged together? But I only had a small bag with food and prawn crackers not even room for a 2lr bottle of juice. Its only juice and I just went out along to the shop so i still recommend the food but I am so annoyed as I was basically told I was lying and never received any juice at all even after the call. So disappointed as never had any issues before this delivery.

The bean curd and tofu here are delicious and the satay chicken is delicious. I hope to come here next time.

1st time trying this takeaway and it was great. All of what we had was fresh and very tasty, even the prawn crackers were exactly what you want 99% of them perfect cups and not the thin ones other restaurants give out. I had salt & pepper chicken balls 10/10. wife had lemon chicken 10/10. Spare ribs 10/10. Fried rice 10/10. The wee curry filled samosa guys they gave us for free were a great wee surprise, never had them before and they were 10/10. This will be my new go to Chinese takeaway.

Very disappointing over 40mins late. Food soggy once it arrived. Chips cold. Tried to complain and not taken seriously.

This has been the go to takeaway restaurant for my family, friends and I for over 5 years. Fantastic portion sizes with noticeably fresh ingredients. Honestly one of the best takeaways in Bathgate Easily top 3.

Order on the website and got a discount! Always a wee bonus. This is the first time I've ordered from here and will definately order again. I went to collect and the people who greeted me we lovely and had my order ready for the collection time. Food was perfect! Not had a decent Szechuan since moving to West Lothian. The Tofu Szechuan was great along with some chow mein. The others loved their chicken satay, special salted, rice and chilli batter chips. Totally recommend 👌

Absaloutly terrible over 2 hours for delivery, food cold, phone and complain and you get nowhere I called them 4 times tonight and once they hung the phone up on me food had to be heat up, as was my daughter's dinner and she was hungry !! tasted disgusting and greasy 🤢 definitely would not recommend and I certainly won't be back

Ordered a beef curry the beef was thick and like rubber the sauce was flavourless I phoned to complain and was told they would send a sweet n sour chicken with fried rice they delivered another beef curry equally rancid and no rice phoned again got me nowhere ended up with no dinner absolutely disgusting

Trust me to want a Chinese meal on a Monday night! Only two options available, I'm not familiar with either, so.. eeny meeny, and I picked this one. So looking forward to my dinner, and it was delivered in good time, looked lovely.... Such a disappointment. Absolutely flavourless, no seasoning, had to add lots of salt, pepper and soy sauce. Vegetables were uncooked and too hard to chew. Rice was stodge, more like rice pudding. Dogs got it. I had a bowl of shreddies. Hey ho, you live n learn.

Very good fresh food and friendly service

Took one and a half hours to deliver on a Tuesday. The food was cold, not even lukewarm. When I called to complain, I was given no apology whatsover and when I said I was going to put a review on the website, all the cheeky, ignorant boy on the phone said was "OK!" I will never buy anything again from this place as the service is appalling to say the very least!

My partner and I have never had a bad meal from Hui En, you get fresh big portions, try the breast of chicken curry and the special chow mein they are both excellent, the chicken Cantonese sweet and sour is also excellent.

My dad is allergic to onions and I wrote on the notes while ordering online no onions on the chicken curry. We got the order and there were onions in the curry so my dad called and the very rude man on the phone told him to just eat it and my refused and said I’m allergic and my child could’ve ate that and she is allergic and the man replied so what. My dad had to wait another hour for his curry. The thing that angered us the most was the so what comment. Steer clear of you have allergies they’ll expect you just to eat it anyway and end up very sick.

I ordered beef with nuddles and vegetables. I got nuddles no vegetables apart onion, beef wasn't fresh at all . Very disappointed won't go back there..

Very good Chinese take away place in Bathgate

Ordered food this evening & the food was top notch as usual chicken curry is my absolute favourite. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful explaining some of the other meals I asked about. We won’t eat anywhere else within the surrounding area since we discovered this little gem Hui En, keep up the good work guys.

Best place for take out. Great price for the portions you get. Food always piping hot. Friendly staff.

Ordered 2 chicken noodle soups and a plain chow mein. Chicken noodle soup came like cold straw noodles, with a thick soy sauce as the soup!! Also included 1 piece of chicken! Throughout the whole portion! The chow mein again, cold straw like noodles. Delivery took over 2 hours on a Tuesday night. Very disappointed and disgusted how they can serve this. Do not recommend!!

Worst food ever, tasteless, meet hard and chewy, pure waste of time and money, AVOID!

Food was hot and delicious, some of the best we've had in recent years in this area. The delivery driver was prompt and very friendly. We'll definitely be ordering from here again.

40 minute estimated time of arrival. At 60 minutes "food is on its way" At 80 minutes "food is on its way" Terrible service, terrible approach to processing a refund. Did I mention terrible?

I've never known a Chinese to be ready within 5 mins.. Chips are reheated Chicken satay was so disappointing. Nothing like the week before.. will I use again NOT A CHANCE

Or...maybe you like to wait for 3 hours for your delivery and still not recieve it.... its hard to hear lady on the phone so she is calling back. well that good, but would be better if she could understand at least simple english! When i asked where is my order she just said with happy voice: I dont know! And just like that phone went silent.....waste of time.

Been going here for a good year or so. Sometimes the meal is all there and fab other times food missing. But tonight's food was absolutely terrible. Nearly a two hour wait for half the food missing and it looking and tasting vile x

I waited 3 hours for food still havnt received it they close at 11pm paid for and everything still havnt received my food at all!!!!

Waited over two hours to get my order witch was wrong and another hour to get what I ordered if you are wanting your food in a hurry I would not recommend but if you don’t mind the wait then the food is good when they get it too you

Food arrived 2HOURS AND 20 MINUTES LATE!!!! I phoned the place twice so as to ascertain when to expect the order. Was lied to twice with the classic line “ the order has just left with the driver”. Food is ok but salty. Do not expect a fast delivery or indeed a receptionist who cares. No compensation offered for such dreadful service. I will not use again

Ordered the munchie box, entire thing was inedible due to the 2 tonnes of salt poured over everything!

Over 2 hour wait, phoned after 1hr 20 and they assured my order was on its way. Arrived another 40mins later. Food was ok but not worth the wait.

So after using hong for the last 2 years I will never use them again. Food arrived after 90 minutes and we got someone else's order. When i called back they said they would get our order to us...it eventually arrived now 2 hours later and it was freezing cold. So by 8.30pm i didnt want them to make another order for it to arrive at 10pm so I told them where to go! I got my money back and I hope the people who we had their food for half an hour did the same.

Placed an order for collection, fast service as usual, got a beef and chicken curry.chicken curry tasted good bit the beef curry was undercooked and curry sauce watered down first time I've had a bland curry from here, very disappointed

Dreadful. Ordered a munchie box last night as i had one months ago which was superb. This one however was terrible. Basically a load of chips saturated in salt that were inedible with no chilli coating, no chilli salt chicken, just a few what appeared to be popcorn chicken deep fried, and a few tiny ribs about two inch long. Four chicken balls, a couple of deep fried wings, and very little peppers, onion. Phoned up and complained and got the delivery driver to come pick it up to take back and show them it. He couldnt have been more apologetic and said it has new owners who dont speak much english, perhaps they also need to learn how to cook. Got a refund but wont order again. avoid at all costs. Standards have dropped alarmingly since previous owners when food was really good. Waiting time also bad. Hour and a half for a delivery

Appalling. Never had Kung po chicken in batter. Starter batter only tasted Have eat very little else other than batter. Yuk.

Thought we would try this takeaway as our usual one was closed for holiday. Ordered Chicken and ham fried rice, noodles, mushrooms in gravy with two portions of curry sauce. Well, the curry sauce just ruined the whole meal as the amount of salt in it was absolutely ridiculous, Ended up in the bin. Wont be using this place again!!

Ordered a sweet & sour ( salt & pepper chicken balls) from here which apparently doesn't come with sweet & sour sauce. Phoned up only to be told that the sauce has to be ordered separately. We pointed out that it doesn't specify this on their just eat app menu to which they replied that they were trying to rectify that. Also only got 8 chicken balls and many says 9. By the time we had managed to get through to them our meal was cold and sauceless. I was very hangry and will not be ordering from here again.

Ordered the set meal for 4 for the family on boxing day. What a treat. Aromatic crispy duck for starters was delish then we got to choose 7 main course dishes from the menu. With rice and chips. We expected them to be smaller portions but they were all full size. We had free crackers and dim sum and a 2lt bottle of juice. My boys got well fed and went home with a take away. Perfect. Many thanks.

Very disappointed, everything looked lovely but very very salty!! Only managed a couple of bites definitely couldn't give it to kids, total waste of money

Chow mein is skinny noodles,not a chow mein in my opinion.was disgusted by how my complaint about the wrong noodles being used,how they spoke to me..needless to say they will not be used again..be aware of the noodles.

Been looking for a very good Chinese in this area for a long time and finally found it Wide and varied menu and very tasty food Service is very quick even walking in off the street never wait longer than 5_10 mins to receive and order. Definitely would recommend it. Only reason I didn't give a 5 cause no matter how good a place is there's always room for improvement

Parking in the street is terrible. They dont understand what your asking for. Ribs with no sauce not plum sauce or difference from plum and peking. Curry is boiled meet and fruity flavour. Portions could have a bit more in them. For £8.90 at city garden in blackburn u can get a large curry fried rice chips an prawn crackers meet is friend and sauce is full of flavour.

Didn't really enjoy the food. Thought it was bland and the rice didn't taste like it was cooked in clean oil. Very disappointed after hearing good reviews about it
