No hand-pulled beers and no food served. Mistake to end our walk here!

This is so good not just food which is gorgeous. The staff. Even the manager takes time to chat with you. Service great if busy may need to wait. But I don't mind when they tell you from the off. They make sure you are OK whilst waiting. The dishes are really big. I'm here for the second time.. Scenery of Yorkshire is lush. Outside tables as well. Party bookings in conservatory. Wow I'm going again.!!

Cabbage and sweed nice once i seasoned, meet bin cooked way to long dry and tastless left it collie cheese no taste gravy nice but one of the worst meals I have ever tasted told the bar maid was told the normal chef was off. Some advise don't employ this one again had food here before it was superb but today what a disappointing experience I had. I have owned and chefed in 3 of my own pubs I would not serve any thing as discussing as what I was served today. Decent pub I brought a load of people down from the tute to watch football. And your staff did not respond to any of my complaint ask your waitress the plate went back full tbh. Short ya chef out he or she is rubbish. Sorry

Bueno, honesto, comida sabrosa a buen precio.

Visted the miners arms on easter Sunday with family... well what can I say it's got to be the worst carvery I've been too first of all meat was dry and tough like it had been sat under lights for hours... mash was cold and lumpy.. Yorkshire puddings were like pancakes and burnt and the gravy had oil floating on top.. can honestly say ill never go back there again knocked me sick

Visited here today for the Sunday Carvery for mothers day. We were slightly concerned as we are aware of the change of chef/cook to the establishment, however we need not of worried. The food was better than the last time we where there! Firstly the meat is left in the joints on the carvery, resulting in the meat not getting dry. Previously all the meat was sliced up resulting in some of it becoming dry, now the meat stays juicy and more succulent, you also seem to get more portion wise - bonus. The optional choice of mince and dumplings were also delicious, and I believe this portion was also bigger. The roasties are now cut smaller therefore no chance of any hard roasties which can happen when potatoes are cut too big. What is also appealing now with the new chef/cook is a dessert option which you didn't have previously. OK so, after your carvery, if you have any room left then you had the option of homemade apple crumble today, (yes homemade) no Aunt Bessy's here, they also had jam roly-poly last week too. For me who does eat out often, and will give an honest specific review (check my other reviews if you don't believe me) I was concerned about the change in chef, however you need not worry, in my opinion this place is BETTER. Add the fact that the managers have done a 'mothers eat free today' this place is great for food, drinks and is reasonable in price. The managers clearly want to make their customers happy! Keep up the good work. We will see you again very soon.

I've enjoyed Sunday carvery here for quite some time but heard last week there was a change of chefs, I went last week regardless and wow I never realised it could have got any better. Everything was amazing, even better than before, my only problem was the giant tasty portions and I didn't save any room for desserts which looked delicious. I've rebooked this week for Mother's Day and I'll make a point of trying there desserts. Thank you so much.

My title says it all really. We visited here around November and December time and I was waiting for the owners to devise this account of their establishment on Tripadvisor, hence the delay in writing this review. Through to the rear of the pub in the large function room we visited on a Sunday for the carvery, (we have actually been here on 3 separate occasions since). All the food was hot and tasty with a wide range of choice for everyone. The main options are great giving you a choice of all the meats (turkey, beef, pork, gammon) or an alternative of mince and dumplings. The vegetables are amazing with real (yes real) mushy peas, along with mashed potatoes and roast, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, turnip, and homemade Yorkshire Puddings- none of your Aunt Bessie rubbish. To top this off add a large dollop of sage and onion stuffing and lashings of hot gravy. This carvery has everything to offer and you can return as often as you like. By 12.15pm (they start serving at 12.00 noon) this place was packed with couples and families for obvious reasons, 'it's just so good'. Add to this a reasonable price per person/couple for food, and the managers Craig & Ashley welcoming you and making sure your dinner is to your liking, this place is up there with The Toby.....just a heck of a lot cheaper people! So to summarise, for hot tasty homemade food, great choice, reasonably priced and to have a cheeky pint with your Sunday dinner, I would highly recommend this place. Take the stress and cost and preparation of a Sunday dinner and try The Miners Arms....you won't be disappointed. P.s. this place is on the high street but a large car park is at the back.

Walked in at 10.30pm on a Friday evening and asked for a table for 4, jabba the hut who was on duty this evening did not seem to be so accommodating and promptly told us they were shutting in 45 minutes. No offer of a table or option to order quickly just a blank look. She/it then went to liaise with a more senior member to ask if we could eat there. It still never actually conversed with us to confirm if eating in a restaurant was feasible or not! Needless to say we walked out never to return, shame as the food looked and smelt really good!
