We were met with an extremely warm welcome. The building itself was full of character. A great menu, from which we opted for the Wednesday roast, which was both excellent and great value… so we also had a dessert… and then coffee. This is exactly how a traditional country pub should be run, Highly recommended

What a lovely Pub! We came here with our 2 children and had a lovely meal on Valentines Day! It's always a little worrying walking into a "locals pub," but as soon as we walked in, the lady and gentlemen behind the bar welcomed us tenfold.!! What a gem of a pub, little hidden treasures everywhere! Also, quirky things like the little holes in the doors, which are for the bees 🐝! And that they clearly do other good things...like the free products in the toilets, should you need them! Honestly, I cannot wait to go back...oh and I should mention that the food was OUT of this world... the best food we'd had in a while... 100%!!! Our daughter wanted to also say, she loved the chicken nuggets and the secret door 🚪.. Thanks so much!

Initial impression entering the rear door was a small bar with 2 locals giving me the eye, bar staff immediately helpful and saved the day. The place is like a rabbit warren with fires everywhere. Simple menus with specials board. I went for a beef roast and a bottle of appasimento £26 for the bottle. The roast came and initially looked small but the main plate had potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and beef with gravy, a little bonus, the pudding was filled with crispy kale that was salted and delicious. The Veg came separately consisting of tender stem and standard broccoli with carrots and a bit of cauliflower, extra gravy and a boat of vegetarian gravy. Also a ramekin of creamy leak veg. More food than you could wish for The meat was nice and tender. Yorkshire was crispy. The potatoes where nice and soft whole small/medium potatoes, not really roast potato but more like small jackets. Veg was soft but not mush. I followed it up with a espresso that was good and not bitter also paired with a brownie and Cornish cream, warm on the inside and delicious 😋. Staff were helpful and happy, the roast was £14.00, and the dessert was around £6 to £8 All in all a great experience Ps, the peas had good texture and flavour and went well with the gravy, described on the receipt as petit puis and cost £2

Fantastic Festive Menu, hard-working and friendly staff and the perfect old-pub atmosphere. A real "locals" pub that happily accepts vacationers . Worth the drive! Lots of parking available. If you can time it for a quiz night it's even more fun. But don't wait for the quiz night, just go, get settled in.

The food and atmosphere was really good (having had a main meal and drink there). On a second visit I just wanted a cream tea (it is Cornwall!). Was quite shocked that the cream tea didn't come with a tea or coffee, just scones on a plate. Anywhere else in Cornwall a cream tea always comes with at least a cup of tea (but more usually a pot of tea) as that is part of the serving. It seemed quite sneaky to add an additional charge for the tea (it's a cream TEA after all), which you had to order or wouldn't get. Nice pub and service just the same though.

My wife and I booked for lunch today, with our son. We asked if we vould have a quiet table as our son is autistic. The young waitress was fantastic and couldn't do enough. The food was fantastic and the Stilton and port sauce that came with the steak was the best we've tasted. A great little place with friendly staff and quality food at affordable prices.

This lovely pub was recommended in our holiday home guest book so we decided to give it a try and we were so glad we did , food is absolutely yummy , and whole menu is available for takeaway out too, great atmosphere and very friendly staff and locals. Plenty of parking spaces. Quirky layout to inside you can tell it was once a big house lots of little rooms on different levels. Nice pub gardens. We will definitely visit again next time we are anywhere near.

Excellent little place! We took our dog in as well and they had beautiful outside seating and lots of dog water bowls for them outside along with a beer garden around the side which people went through to. The inside was quite cosy and the staff were really friendly 😊 I got the steak and my husband got the burger and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! Mine came with stilton sauce which is my favourite and not many restaurants do that sauce these days so it was a welcome treat! I was so hungry I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the food but have a picture of the specials board and the outside 🥰 Thanks for our lovely meal! 🫶🏻

On a recent visit to St.Agnes we drove to Mithian which is just a few minutes drive down the road to the miners Arms for their renowned fish and chips and it was well worth it! This place was packed on Friday night given that it's a very oldy worldy place with beautiful little nooks to sit in. They have a gorgeous beer garden and the food was incredible and excellent value! We will definitely be back to visit to try more of their delicious fare! Best to book in advance if you are a large party or if the weather isn't so great as limited space inside as very popular with the locals!

The Miners Arms in Mithian is an absolute gem that perfectly blends the charm of a traditional Cornish pub with warm, welcoming hospitality. We chose to sit outside in the lovely courtyard, which was a delightful experience. The space is beautifully adorned with fairy lights, creating a cozy and enchanting atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Our server, Izzy, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and really added to the overall experience. Her genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel truly looked after. I had the pleasure of trying their Fish Man Pie, and it was simply delicious. One of the standout features of The Miners Arms is that it's a dog-friendly spot, making it a perfect choice for those who want to enjoy a meal without leaving their four-legged friends behind. The pub’s relaxed, family-oriented vibe, combined with excellent food and service, makes it a must-visit if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be returning

Really nice pub, great food, plenty of seating areas (inside and out) and cosy bar area, reasonably priced, great service, nice atmosphere.
