Great food, large portions, especially the sharing platter! Excellent service that's friendly without being pushy.

Staff were very friendly, place was very clean and tidy, the waitresses Carys and Beatrice were fab, the food was amazing and the man who cooked the steak I don't know his name but carys does cooked it to perfection and my daughter said it was the best steak she had ever had, we will definitely be back again 😀

After at least 3 previous visits where food and service was nothing less than 10/10, we visited last night for a joint birthday celebration and I couldn't judge it to be no more than a 2/10. The menu had changed drastically and to the guests and I this was a negative point.. no fillet steak, no salmon or seafood dish ☹️.. we felt that there was mixed opinions on food ordered.. (2 starters) filled Yorkshires was tasteless the cheesy bites were delicious, steaks and gammon was well over marinated, the pepper was so over powering, one had to be returned ( changed eventually to lasagne) and the rest were edible I suppose but not enjoyable. The chicken in the tikka and honey balls was poor quality. We ordered garlic mushrooms starter as a side to our steaks and for the price the portion was ridiculous.. our table was booked for 6pm as young children attended, although it was approximately 7.30 pm before the children's meals were served after complaining that they were hungry and getting tired... The waitress did ask after serving was all ok in fairness and to my regret I said nothing at that time (although it was just as meals were served) and I was later asked by the manager my opinion, where I did say everything I've wrote here, a free drink and desert was offered.. although on return to the table it was only for one guest... So disappointed and dissatisfied I won't be returning for a future meal.. not a restaurant for fine dining any longer sadly and I feel this is a shame.

Food really nice and even though it may be a tiny bit expensive the quality of everything is worth the price and these two waiters called Tom and Ella has and amazing attitude with all customers so the food and service is amazing I 100% recommend coming

Amazing food, ridiculously big portions! Very rare that I fail a mixed grill but this one was just too big! Delicious all the same though! Staff very friendly and attentive! My one criticism would be the seats. The first seat I had was ripped and alot of the padding was missing out of it, very uncomfortable, changed it for another seat that wasn't that much more comfortable but it was still better than the first one. The food and the service though is outstanding. Would definitely eat here again 👌🏻

Very disappointing. Limited menu, very different to the menu online. When enquiring none of the staff knew what I was talking about, they went off to look online at their menu! They said they hadn't served the lobster in months. Burgers very dry and left a strange after taste. No salad or sauce on them either. Cold drinks also served warm. Better off in a Wetherspoons!

Absolutely shocking place to go for food meatball starter no taste and dry my daughters steak was terrible.my gammon was awful and the staff haven't got a clue what they're doing or who's in charge wouldn't recommend the place to any one.

Honestly, lovely places, our servers Beatrice, Layla, and Tom (i think they were the names, sorry if they weren't) were absolutely lovely people. great energy in there too. sat down and immediately got served drinks, very patient and happy staff. the burger i had was a bit dry but easily fixed with sauce, stunning foot, amazing service, and great service, definitely recommend if you're looking for an evening out with family or friends, 10/10

The service I had tonight was absolutely amazing and the food was out of this world and the cocktails were absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this place anytime. And a special shout out to all the kitchen staff for amazing food and also beatrice, carys and all the staff who went out of their way to make our night extra enjoyable.

Really enjoyed the Mine with family, service was great, however, the wait between starters and main was too long and the wine needs to be colder. Definitely will return.

Was lovely and quiet despite dining at 7pm on a Saturday. Pre-booked a table for 2. We was greeted at the door by the lovely staff, Josh and Carys. Josh showed us to our table and Tom took our order and he was really lovely and a total gentleman. The staff here are so amazing and so friendly big thank you to their amazing hospitality. Me and my Mrs had the salt and pepper chilli chicken and it was so filling and tasty😋 We had no room for dessert as we were so full and the price was very affordable with the portions very satisfying. Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful restaurant😊

Bit slow with service but friendly staff and food worth waiting for!

Turned up last minute and they managed to seat us. Great service from Jaego and Beatriz. Food was tasty and lots of it - none of us managed to clear our plates.

A lovely welcome from Beatrice, a pleasant dining room with good atmosphere and a great menu, especially for meat eaters. The platter for 2 was incredible, not the amount of food but the quality and flavour of each meat cut was excellent. Great place for a lovely meal out.

Meh, very disappointed this time and won’t return again. Went around a year ago for a bottomless brunch which I couldn’t fault but this time was very disappointing. Starter meatballs were very bland and flavourless. Main was freezing cold, looked like packet chicken that could be bought in Asda and chips were hard as rocks that were covered in seasoning but just tasted like powder. Made waitress aware of the issues but was just apologised but couldn’t do anything. Over 80% of the food was left as was not enjoyable and the meal cost us over £65 for 2. The presentation and quantity of the food is definitely what sells this place, for sure not the quality.

Would have been 5 stars as the food was outstanding and the venue is really nice but the waitress kept asking us to finish our drinks to take our glasses (as in stood there and asked us to finish our drink to take them. My husband downed half a pint to make her leave) and stood by the table to take our plates when we weren't finished (we were still actively eating) Was quite weird and uncomfortable but honestly the food was top level.

What a lovely place to eat out. Food tasted great, and there was plenty of it. Shared a platter with my son, and it beat us. Staff is extremely pleasant and helpful.

Very disappointing first and last visit to the mine Menus were very tatty and walls filthy so first impressions were not the best, but after having read good reviews before visit thought I would turn blind eye to that But first course arrived cold, could of been nice if hot Main meal was diabolical freezing cold mash,peas like bullets and sausages cheapest of the cheap.staff were friendly and guess it’s not their fault,but this restaurant needs a real good shake up!!!

Wow, this place is a little bit pricey, but the food you get is outstanding, by far the best takeaway I’ve had, I come over from aberdare just to get some food it’s that good, if I could give it more than 5 star I would

Went here Saturday evening for a 60th Birthday Celebration, party of around 20. Firstly, it took around 40mins to get drinks, then around hour and half for starter, which wasn't to bad, prawns in garlic sauce. Then the mains came half hour later. What a dissapointment, firstly they were not hot, 4 people on our table had sirloins, they were very well done, most of us asked for medium, and the other medium rare. They were all dry as above. The chips were hard and the peppercorn sauces were also cold. When mentioning this to the young lad who was our waiter, he said he was going to bring the manager, who never appeared once. We did pay the bill of £150 for 4 people, which was probably worth £10. The reason we paid in case you are wondering is because it was someone e else's night and we didn't want to spoil it by making a fuss. We would definetly not go back and would definetly not recommend this place at all, stay away if you are wise.

A party of 4 dined here on Saturday 8th March 2024 @ 5pm. The booking process was simple and easy to follow. Unfortunately that's about as far as our compliments go. All four of us were massively disappointed and underwhelmed with our experience. The starters came out they were not what was expected. The creamy garlic mushrooms were bland and tasted more like mushroom soup with a hint of garlic. The 3 measly chicken tenders were dry and what I would have expected to purchase from Iceland and the haloumi fries were generous but lacked flavour. The accompanying salads with the starters consisted of 2 dry pieces of cucumber, old brown iceberg lettuce and limp red onion. For £7.50 per starter, we expected something a bit more special. Then the mains is where we were all really let down. The portions were a great size, the novelty of having it served on a shovel was fun but didn't warrant the £3 price hike. Again, unfortunately that's where the positive ends. The chicken was dry on all dishes, the butter chicken tastes like it was essentially from a jar from Aldi, the salt and pepper chicken was chewy, the honey glazed chicken was dry and advertised to come with salt and pepper chips but just came with normal chips. The Korean chicken balls were just way too salty and too much soy sauce was used. A meal for 4 people coming In at £132 was way overpriced for what was received. If the place was selling its self as a pub with good priced pub food then this place would have easily been a 10/10, but for a price tag of £132 for food that couldn't rival a local weatherspoons just isn't acceptable. They need to focus on quality over quantity and then they may get it right. Needless to say we all left disappointed and wouldn't be recommending or returning again.

Great food, very friendly service and exceptional value for money

We have been wanting to come here for months as the pictures show juicy ribs, burgers etc..... We had the sharing platter with 2 glasses of coke and ice which cost £51.00. At first glance it looked great and we got excited but unfortunately for the food it wasn't very exciting at all! The burgers was bland, no salad or sauces in the burgers and the meat was full of grissle! Dry as a bone! I thought the ribs would be better (you know the type that falls off the bone) well no, it was hard and the sauce was blande! Salt and pepper fries was soggy and soft. If your looking to spend big money on good food, you would be going to the wrong place unfortunately, not sure where all the great reviews have come from. Good luck and get better!

Cary’s our waitress was so friendly and lovely. Made the experience so much more enjoyable. Our other server Tom held the same amazing values. So lovely. They made us all feel really comfortable and me and my friends really enjoyed our night. The food was also up to a high standard as well as the drinks.

Came here to celebrate my friends birthday yesterday... The staff were very friendly and accommodating.. my main meal was flavoursome but found the rice a little over cooked and the onion rings were clearly frozen onion rings not beer battered... I had the Malteaser Cheesecake for dessert but was slightly disappointed with this as part from a little crumble of Maltseaer on the top the rest just tasted like vanilla ..The Restaurant itself was clean, tidy and cosy ☺️

Way over rated, long waits for food which isn't that good, been wanting to go for over a year and finally got the opportunity and was dissapointed to say the least, I've cooked better ribs on the bbq and the burger was as dry as they come, the chicken burger was terrible not sure what they done to it but one bite and was left on the side, the chilli chicken was the only enjoyable bit but you can't really mess that up to be fair you would have to do well to mess that up, on the plus side the staff was great and very friendly and helpful, food was nowhere near worth the extortionate cost, will not be rushing back at them prices

Chloe and Adam were really attentive and made sure we were always topped up with drinks and and had everything we needed. 20oz burger on a shovel was amazing, along with the palma violet cocktail.

I had the spag bol and it was lovely. Very big portion so couldn’t eat it all. Wings were nice with no bone. Didn’t like the mayo but they were still good.

Such a lovely place. After forgetting to make a reservation the hostess at the booking station was so kind and friendly and said she could squeeze us in before the next booking (she was such a great waitress I had to ask for her name at the end of the meal - the lovely Beatrice). Another very kind man came out who even said our golden retriever Harvey made his day and seated us and ran us through the deal on the cocktails and what was on offer. The moment we sat down he also asked if Harvey would like any water which was so nice. I was thrilled to know we could order on both menus - mixing it up and getting the calamari & mushrooms for starter and the 50/50 and ribs for main. Everything from the beginning was superb. The food was so so good, the cocktails were AMAZING and the service was beyond par. It was amazing value for money and I hope we come back to this area so we can come here again. I’m glad I did my research before and think this was the best dog friendly place to eat we could have found in the whole area. Thanks again for a wonderful experience! The meal cost us £58 for 4 scrummy cocktails, 2 starters and 2 mains - I don’t think we could get any better than that!

Went with my daughter tonight and both agreed that the food was spot on; tasty and big portions. The standard of service was exemplary, all members of the team were welcoming and extremely pleasant throughout and clearly led by a manager who was present and although clearly extremely busy, nevertheless found time to chat with customers as well as constantly check that his staff were coping ok with a heavy workload and that everyone was happy. Cannot recommend highly enough, it was a very pleasant evening which by the sounds of other customers they were enjoying as much as we were.
