Thought we would try lunch at Mill Tavern today. Worst mistake ever. Young lad in the kitchen came out with a mouth full of chips, sticking out of his mouth. And the barman was having his dinner on the optics bench, in full view and swearing his head off. The music was full belt inside the kitchen, when the door opened for food, it was blaring. No professionalism at all. We both had mince and dumplings, which came with mash and peas only. Mince was big lumps and no gravy, potatoes were also lumpy and cold and the dumpling tasted more like a lump of hard dough. The woman server replaced mine, and offered gravy, but still I could not eat it. My friend exchanged hers for scampi and chips, the chips were not properly cooked. We didn’t bother having our desert….. Won’t be back

We came for the quiz and tapas. All the tapas dishes were cold and took almost an hour to arrive. I am vegetarian and I ordered patatas bravas as one of my tapas and it came with meat in. This was not advised on the menu. I approached the bar and explained that I wasn’t expecting meat in my dish and the manager came to speak to me. She said ‘well if it was vegetarian it would have a V next to it on the menu’. But none of the dishes had a V on so I’m afraid I had to guess. The chef came and offered to make it again without the meat, and the manager just rolled her eyes. I found her rude and unprofessional. Very disappointing from a local business. On the upside, Babs behind the bar was very helpful.

Sunday dinner was awful. Seemed to be a lot of staff standing about and messing on. Staff eating food near food serving area. Worst Sunday dinner we've ever had. Drinks over priced, don't agree with allowing dogs. Looks a bit dark and gritty, needs a major refurb, but then the prices would go up, so best to leave it as it is. But won't be visiting again.

The sausages was very tender not so chew done good job doing sausages properly and stakes were ok my mum enjoyed food and rock was asboulety brilliant wish them come back soon I like the music you played. 😁

Terrible service. No warning of a wait on food when we ordered. Pizza came out over an hour later missing half the toppings and burnt. Looked straight out of the corner shop freezer. Paid £3.50 for half a portion of fries to come out. Was too scared to mention since we’d already waited far too long for the food. Couldn’t ask for refund as staff were too busy laughing with the regulars about how long people were having to wait for substandard food. Will not be returning.

Discusting. Cheesy garlic bread and pizza was borderline burnt with couple of sprinkles of cheese on. Won't be back. In a hurry.

Enjoyed the Sunday night quiz, good selection of questions and rounds, Card bingo and random draw for free pints. Nice atmosphere and a friendly crowd.

Unbelievable how nice the food was, yes we did wait a little longer than some other pubs but the food was outstanding! Service was also spot on and the price was spot on for what you'd expect. Highly recommended. No one in the local area can touch this place.

Food was terrible fish all batter and greasy chips undercooked thought we'd give it another go won't go back partner had mince and dumplings rock hard got a apple pie and custard no spoon had to use fork which he'd used

Overall it was a decent visit, it’s been well done out since it closed. Slightly expensive, but the carvery was really nice.

Was told there might be a little wait when ordering food which was fine. After 30 mins enquired and told it was being prepared but was missing one ingredient. No offer of some sort of discount or refund whatsoever. Couldn't be bothered to ask to honest. After 45 minutes it arrived. The dish? Loaded fries.

Ran out of ice on a Saturday night not good enough

Nice drinks and they are ok price wise. Place looks clean and tidy a lot more than it used to. Ordered food fish was good but my girlfriends pizza was badly burnt in the bottom and didn’t have the fresh chillis on it that it was supposed to. Was annoying as she only ordered it cause she wanted it to be spicy. It had the pepperoni salami and jalapeños but was missing the chillis. I know people say why don’t you complain at the time and I would have if it was my pizza but she didn’t want to complain or make a fuss. She ate it anyway cause she was starving. Frustrating as been here now 3 times for food and everytime it’s just not 100%. The little things matter the chef sshould have known it was over cooked and the server who brought it should have known it was missing toppings. Would go for drinks but wouldn’t order food again.

Was really pleased when mill tavern reopened been in a couple of times and was pleased.all the staff except one are very courteous two young girls working when we were there were very polite smiley and sociable an asset in hospitality the guy behind the bar was very professional.however the other female who seems to be in charge was not so pleasant her attitude to customers and staff was not good customers complaining about food or lack of not professional at all manner speaking to staff not good.would we return yes simply because rest of staff doing a great job well done girls wish I had got your names

Menu is a fiction. Limited choice. Waited an hour to be served. One meal ordered was chilli. Brought with chips because they had no rice!!

Untrained barman and no gluten free menu. Can get better than that from the pub down the road. Also to serve a starter and main course together isn't very good at all.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was all ok, but would have have benefited from being hotter. Meat was great as an example but the broccoli was cold.

What can I say, a big thumbs up from me. Definitely a big bonus to the local area as food is lovely. Been a few times now and always enjoyed each meal I've had. Makes a change to the frozen junk put on your plate in other establishments. Well done to the mill for the massive improvement and to the music entertainment you are bringing in for your customers to enjoy

Fantastic place been here a couple of times now, the food is delicious and the pints go down easy. Staff are friendly and happy to accommodate any needs, couldn't be happier. Additionally, it was reasonably priced and you can't really fault the place.

Booked for Sunday Carvery and it was mediocre at best. Some of our party ordered from the usual menu (pizza andSausage & mash). The pizza took about 45 minutes to turn up and the sausage never appeared. Then we were told that they didn't have any - although they took payment for it. We got a refund and a free pizza. Place was packed - huge queues and kids running everywhere - was a complete shambles. We don't mind the pub but would never return on a Sunday.

A very friendly, clean and comfortable space. We only had starter and wasn't staying long but I plan to definitely revisit and have meal. Service very good, they deserve to succeed.

Over priced carvery compared to other carvery’s and was cold

Went here for Sunday lunch with family. Was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to my table. We all got carvery and I must say it was absolutely outstanding. I could not fault one single thing. We like to try out Sunday lunches all over the north east and I have to say this has to be up there with the best. We will most definitely be back.

A good hour wait for food yet the place was mellow and quiet. Another family had to wait ages for dessert. After 30 mins waiting we were told they didn’t have what we ordered so we suggested an alternative. When meal finally arrived, homemade chips were lovely but pizza was plastic-tasting. Previous visit we were told kitchen had closed despite the website saying differently. Staff are lovely but that’s not enough to carry a place. Happy to amend this review if future visits are good.

First time I’ve visited here. With a recommendation we decided to try it. Food was beautiful, huge portions and very well presented. The handout chips are to die for. There was a burger meal deal on for £8.95 each. Some of the burger meals were 13.95, so this was a bargain. The two girls who were serving were very friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back

Had a brilliant time the other night watching the Newcastle game, nice selection of food on the bar which was a nice touch, beer was spot on and atmosphere was great, love how the place has turned around and I'll deffo be back

DREADFUL. after waiting for over an hour for our paid for meals we left, still waiting. Considering this was a Wednesday afternoon with no more than six tables to serve, I dread to think how they would cope with a full house.

Been meaning to come and give the place ago after hearing mix things after the reopening. Foh staff very polite and help with us needing a high chair. We order our food and drink and the wait begins. The bar wasn’t busy as there was only 25 guests in the building. We waited 50 minutes for our food which is completely unacceptable as I could see in the kitchen and boh staff were happy to be on their phones as we and over guest wait. This is a serious industry guest come first not your mate on the phone. I saw 3 separate tables complain about the wait all given the same answer it coming. The food was ok when it arrived. Onion rings very disappointing, tempura batter was too thin and was crispy but onion was very much raw and very greasy. Peas came ten minutes later than the rest of the meal. I would hate to go when it’s actually busy. All the problems can be solved and Hebburn could have a decent food with decent food again but the we are still waiting. Hopefully things change soon.

Just been for Sunday lunch with my wife. Opted for the meat carvery and one vegetarian. Food and service both excellent, roast beef done to perfection. Chef and bar staff very pleasant and accommodating, nothing was a problem for them, all in nice surroundings. Being a winging Jock I’ve got to complain about something and because they’re my favourite, the sprouts were a little overdone. Sorry! We will definitely be back 10/10

Our Grandson plays in a group as their drummer so we were there for the gig. Great night great,great atmosphere, very nice Pub / Restaurant. Would go again for a meal (without the band).

First time here n will definantly be going again. Food was fabulous and freshly cooked. Yes we waited a while but it was busy and we were made aware by the staff of a wait. Portions were huge and lovely presentation and service. Thank you Gill for ensuring we were all happy with food and service. Wonderful food great service from Gill and excellent surroundings

Arrived on time for our booked table, it was so busy which is always a good sign for any business. Advised would be an hour wait for our food to arrive at our table which was fine by us all. Food arrived it was lovely but sadly some of our party had missing items, we didn’t make a fuss about it , but felt it was too busy and they must of ran out of items that should of been on our plates as stated on the menu. Would we go back sat night for food no. Would we go back daytime through the week when quieter a big yes. We did notice a band was going to playing later that night hence so busy and people in good spirits very lively and noisy.

A group of us went for the Sunday Cavery. The only thing good on the plate was the meat, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. The turnip was lumpy and hadn't been seasoned. The larger parsnips were hard, and so were the carrots. Even the sage and onion stuffing was hard. I did inform a member of staff. There's not much choice of veg.

The food was great but cold could not eat it

First time visiting for food. Food was beautifully cooked and well presented, huge portion sizes so thankfully had the option to take away the leftovers! Halloumi and potato skin starters both gorgeous. Had a variety of mains and all lovely. Spotted customers with the roast of the day, looked so nice so will be back for that! Service was excellent, staff all very friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Chris for making sure our birthday plans ran smoothly and Gill for being so lovely!

after hearing good reports about the Mill reopening we were totally dissapointed on our first visit. Firstly It was noisy, kids jumping around screaming and being encouraged by adults. Then the long wait for our meals which took ages. I had ordered my favourite dish of Jalfrezi. It had no flavour apart from many tinned tomatoes which had been loaded onto the plate. The chicken was dry as sticks and tasteless. I couldn't believe this was Jalfrezi, definitely the worst i had ever experienced! I could never advise anyone to visit this establishment!

Went with friends for an evening meal.Had the blackpudding stack.Ok,but sauce was watery.For main course I ordered hunters chicken.When it arrived it was obvious it must have been left under a grill for a while as all dried up.One of the worst meals I have encountered ,I informed staff and also informed them I would not be returning.Shame as pub is nicely refurbished,but the meals let it down.

Ordered food and was told there would be a little bit of a wait - we ended up waiting 1 hr and 30 mins and no food appeared - I asked a couple if times how long food would be and was told 10 mins - that came and went so we requested a refund just as food was brought out my hubby's food gammon steak.was lovely but my hunters chicken was dy and rubbery and had obviously been under a heat lamp as couldn't even get my fork.in or cut it - it just put me off the rest of the meal - such a shame as the onion rings and chunky chips looked amazing

Great food, lovely helpful staff. The meals are all home cooked, absolutely lovely, Shouldn't complain but they are to big, Lunch special is starter.. main.. desert ..they are really big portions... you can take a doggy bag home but it would be nice to have a light bite menu option...

We went here after turning up on opening night when I had booked table, only to be told they could not serve us for hours. The dinner tonight was not any better experience , with it being overpriced for basic Greek dish which was garlic...

Not the best dinner and at that price I expect better raw stuffing balls and meat string in my dinner that aside wouldn’t go back not at that price an 8:95 dinner at best !

Tried the new mill out a week a go with a few friends for food and drinks thought the staff were lovely and the food was amazing will definitely be going back soon.

The food was amazing, all homemade and very good sized portions .It was very value for money . The staff were very friendly and polite and one really took time to acknowledge my 3 year old nephew which was lovely . We didn’t wait long...

It’s closed & randomly reopened more times than a Jack in the box! Ok here goes, “I’ll have the hunters chicken pls” “we haven’t got any chicken” “ok, I’ll have a chicken burger” “ we haven’t got any chicken burgers” “ok what have you got?” A dry burger and chips at £12.50 and only Birra Moretti at £5 a pint - I’ll not be back which won’t be too concerning as you’ll be closing again soon at that rate! Ps: how much did I spend? £35 and that was just on the drinks!

No chicken left, half the menu is chicken , waitress and bar staff arguing between themselves, 35 minutes for meal, not busy. Meal average, might just be a bad night will try again at some point. Moriti didn't taste too good.

Just been with my husband for a lovely lunch, our server Gill was professional and friendly, an absolute credit to the mill staff, and the food was so tasty and great value for money, portion sizes were huge, will definitely return!

Fabulous pub and eaterie . So comfortable with a lovely atmoshere . Was unsure in what to pick from the vast menu which encompassed many different dishes . Being a sea food addict , I had phoned ahead to ask if Seafood Risotto was on offer . It was and the best I've ever tasted . Hats off and a big handshake to the chef and kitchen staff who had served perfection on a plate . My O.H. settled for the old English favourite of battered cod with chips and fresh salad served with lemon wedges . I nicked a bit and that batter was to die for. I finished off with a simple cheesecake as did him indoors Stuffed was not the word . Absolute delight of a place in Hebburn . The staff , front of house and kitchen were 100% . Will be back again without fear of contradiction . Well done to The Mill Tavern.

So went with friends tonight for tea we booked in for 6pm got told at bar thay were not take any more food orders main reason we booked we new it was 30 minus wait on food food come out difent tines with things missing...

Lovely place. It place looks great. I attended with my mam and kids and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and came out in great time. Great value for money. Home made chips are a must! I spoke to the manager on the way...

Great local pub, friendly staff. Dog friendly too, even came outside to offer us some leftover beef scraps for our dog (which he absolutely loved). Definitely recommended!

Food was lovely, kids eat for a quid with adult meal. Family friendly and also dog friendly.

Fabulous place. Food is amazing. Bands are great. Love play your cards right and the karaoke. Bar staff are great and Davey the entertainer always makes you feel welcome. Great place. I have even took my daughter here for tea and she loved it.

This has always been a popular pub over the years. Lots of space inside, half a dozen tables outside at the front for the fine weather. Was/is a music venue. Bus stop right outside and large car park at the rear.
