Went for Burns night supper had a fantastic night the piper and band were excellent food was great a very enjoyable evening

Lovely food, smashing staff and really affordable. We were in the Stables at the back, which was a dog friendly area with music videos playing on TVs on every wall. I would have preferred the main pub, but it was a last-minute thing, literally a walk-in. A nice venue for a friendly catch-up or family meal.

Nice beer garden and good service

Stopped for a lunchtime beer and a bite to eat after a lengthy walk. Sadly the main building is not at all dog friendly and was asked to go to an empty bar at the back which needed the lights switched on. Didn't feel homely at all so went across the road to the other pub which was was much more dog friendly. I understand some people don't like dogs when eating but normally the bar area is fair game. It looked good inside the main building tbh but sadly won't be spending any of my money here in the future.

Absolutely outstanding!! Managed to fit us in at short notice, and most definitely the best Sunday dinners in the area. A warm lovely inviting pub, that should be a must visit for anyone wanting top notch food and drink.

Tremendous food ,friendly staff

May I say how good the food. Atmosphere and service was. My only problem was not having a vegetarian option. Even if it was a gratain or soup even. Would have went a long way. 2 of our group ended eating nothing as there was no option. That was my only issue please consider this in future

Lovely food first class service

Excellent from start to finish. Reserved a couple of tables for our Grandaughter's Birthday meal (her choice). Service was fantastic, lovely atmosphere and beautiful food. We all had various meals and couldn't fault any of it...oh and the coffee was delicious 😋 thank you.

Just had a lovely Sunday dinner at the Milbourne. Generous portions of Lamb and Pork all done beautifully. Served with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. All the veg was done beautifully and the cauliflower cheese was delicious. Got the apple crumble and custard for desert with cinnamon and my wife got the cheesecake with cream. First time here and all of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Definitely be back. 👍

A great Sunday roast, already looking forward to returning. We turned up and didn’t have a booking but the staff and chef kindly allowed us in to have food. The service was incredible as well as the food. The meat was lovely and tender. Would definitely recommend for a roast.

Excellent food, lovely oitdoor space. You can see the chefs at work, they are very pleasant and professional. Haven't had a bad meal, just called in at lunchtime for a sandwich, lovely 😋

So glad we found this place! Best meal we have had in a long time. I ordered the special Moroccan style Tacos they were so tasty and very filling. My wife ordered the fish finger sandwich, the batter was lovely and crispy the fish was amazing and the bread it was served in was so good! We will be back to try more from the menu! Booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 + 2 dogs after walking down Holywell dene. As it was a nice day asked if we could sit outside, staff were really friendly and helpful despite being really busy. Great options for Sunday roast. The porchetta was superb, one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had in a long while! Big portion sizes and really good value, will definitely be back!

Popped in for drink, saw the food being served and thought we'd try the Sunday lunch. We ordered the "modest" portion, couldn't believe how much food was served. The slow cooked beef was beautiful as were the vegetables. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff are lovely which makes all the difference. We will definitely pop back, maybe during the week to sample other dishes.

Really nice pub, good service and plenty people in having dinner. There's parking at the front and down the side. Good dinner time menu but the price was canny high. Would still recommend !

Dropped in Saturday afternoon with kids. Service great and food very good. Highly recommend.

Popped in for a bite to eat . Great friendly service . With hindsight should have asked for a plate rather than the plank it arrived on so less chance of wearing it . I will know for next time .

Well worth a visit. Just had Sunday lunch here, and the food was really good. Place was busy but the staff were very friendly and working hard. Roast dinner was very tasty, and the trio of meat was lovely. Puddings were also very good. Would definitely come back as couldn't fault the place. Allows Dogs aswell which is great. Thanks

Went in for some food and it was very nice

Nice village pub serving exquisite home made food, undoubtedly one of the best lasagnes I’ve ever had. Staff were super friendly and efficient helping to make my girlfriend’s 21st birthday meal a success. Only let down by the dog friendly part of the venue being a completely seperate less atmospheric outbuilding dominated by sport on tv and commentary

Staff attitude is very poor which is a shame because the food is great! used to go here every Sunday with the family but we won’t be back.

Been meaning to sample the fare here for a while, having heard good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Will definitely be going again.

Went the the open mic night on Wednesday night, pre drinks before going was a mistake before trying to play 🤣 lush bar and the staff were awesome, John ran a totally great open mic night, definitely going back

The food was very greasy. It was not really palatable. I won't be rushing back. It's ashame as it was nice a few years ago.

Yes our daughter was 10 minutes late. But booking a table at 12pm we didn't expect our food to arrive till 1.10pm. The beef was so tough we really needed steak knives. Overall very poor. No one asked how our meals were, for good reason obviously. Never mind. Lesson learnt.

Tried calling into the fat ox. Sadly it's been taken over by Greene king so didn't stay. Pub now more interested in serving shareholders than drinkers!

Went on Wednesday night, we had a ploughman's it was huge and lovely. Would recommend. Sat outside in the lovely well kept garden in the sunshine. 👍

Absolutely fantastic place to go for lunch. We discovered this place when walking our dog and looked for a dog friendly place. This is it and we are now regulars. Lunch is amazing but Sunday lunch is to die for. Love the place, love the service and very friendly atmosphere.

Food as good as ever, but a price increase again

Don't go anywhere else but here! We came here for dinner and had the fish finger sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both served in either baguette or ciabbatta. We had one of each. They came with chips and coleslaw, absolutely gorgeous food and we were seated in the Stables which is the section that is dog friendly along with the beer garden. As it was midweek and in the middle of the day we were the only ones in the Stables. Once we had our food and drinks the lady said let your dog off the lead so he can wander around and shut the door so Ozzy had some freedom which was appreciated. We then booked for the following Friday evening for an evening meal. I had the lamb shank and my husband had the steak pie. Again amazing food and service. I could not recommend this place enough especially if you are looking for somewhere to eat with a dog. The best place we have been to all holiday.

Went today for Father’s Day .. 20 + plus of us.. sat in the sables .. pool tables loads of screens with sport on .. quiz machine and bar within .. all had Sunday lunch which was very good .. few had puddings all sued lovely .. Service great .. give it a try you won’t be disappointed

Booked well in advance for a party of 10 on the Bank Holiday and was pleasantly suprised that it was not overly busy, when we got there, was getting busier as we left. Staff were helpful and friendly and food was lovely, everyone enjoyed their meal. Would recommend 👌

Disappointed with the experience here. When we ordered we were not advised the food would take so long. It would be sensible to tell the customer there would be an excessive wait for food. After waiting nearly an hour, we enquired and was told the food would be at !east another 20 minutes. Therefore we left without trying the food, which was a shame as it looked good. Would not return after this experience.

Stopped in for a quick pint whilst walking in the area. The pub is a nice pub with friendly staff. They only had one real ale but it was really well kept.

Had Sunday dinner here last Sunday service was exceptional Sunday dinner huge given extra gravy and condiments without even asking for them. Food was delicious large portions fantastic atmosphere Recommend Sunday lunch or even just drinks!

Vegetables were a bit hard and warm not hot but overall the dinner was lovely beef was really tender.

The first time I've eaten here. It certainly won't be the last. My friend and myself were welcomed warmly by a lovely waitress. She took our drinks order, our dinner order. I had the belly pork,cooked perfectly. My friend had the steak and mushroom pie with handcut skin on fries . Both portions were extremely generous. The food was hot and flavourful . A 5* experience. We were very impressed

We had a fab night at the light switch on. Lovely food and great atmosphere. We stayed for karaoke which was brilliant! Highly recommended this place!

Tastiest fish and chips I've had in a long time. Meal was piping hot. Service was extremely good. Would go back again.

Easily the best Sunday dinner I’ve had around the coast. That good we’ve been back multiple times & recommended to friends & family who all agree it’s amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Huge portions and got a lovely feel. Two lovely out door areas. Also a sports bar separate to the main pub. What a great idea. Think it could be used for private parties too as it has its own bar built in.

We booked for Sunday lunch. We booked for 4 but turned up with 5 which was no problem for the young waitress. On arrival I was slightly concerned as no one in there was eating. But wow! The food was fantastic. The children woofed down there very generous chicken dinners child's portion. I am a very fussy veggie and I certainly was not disappointed with my nut roast - which I would usually leave and very impressed that I had my own portion of veggie gravy without having to ask. Finally the biggest compliment we could give is that the other half said his pork dinner was the best Sunday dinner he's had in ages. 😍The young staff were brilliant waitresses and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Lovely quirky pub near Holywell Dene

The Milbourne Arms is absolutely brilliant. We had a party in the Stables which is Soo wonderful and the staff were out of this world - especially Paula. Soo helpful and lovely and made everyone feel Soo welcome as well as all the extra lovely staff. The 2 chef's did a greattt job with the tasty food they made for our guests. Everyone said they had the best time. The courtyard area outside was perfect to sit outside on the table and chairs. There was a fabuloussss singer playing inside which made our night extra fun too. Thank you to all the amazzzing staff at the Milbourne Arms. Everyone said they will be visiting again. Couldn't have asked for a better night and everyone made our party extra extra special.xo

Waited 45 minutes for bar meal and it was clay cold when served. Ciabata bread was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. We won't return.

Went in for lunch today and I would have given 5 stars but the waitress wasn't very attentive. The food is delicious as usual but the waitress forgot my drink and kept disappearing when we wanted something. She just needs to be a bit more smiley and chatty, didn't seen very friendly and made me feel a bit like I was an inconvenience.
