The Mighty Cod in Rhondda Cynon Taf

HONESTLY DONT BOTHER! I've been ordering from this place for over a year and I always order the same thing. It started off really great but the quality, portion size and delivery time are very quickly declining. The last 4 times I've ordered parts of the meal have been missing and when you call them, instead of rectifying the problem, they pass you onto eachother and then give you attitude, before hanging up, despite having spent over £29 on the order. I paid over £13 for fish & chips and got a portion that wouldn't even fill my child. A handful of chips and the fish looked bitesize. Very dry kebab with no sauce that I ordered. To top it off they have dropped to a number 3 hygiene rating!!

Should be renamed to Goated COD. Pizza slaps respectfully. Best value in Cardiff, cheaper prices in person.

This place is a hidden jam. We had a takeaway from here. The chicken and cheese burgers are very delicious. The pizza was good as well. And all of them at reasonable prices. We enjoyed their food.

Superb sausage and chips with delicious curry sauce. Very clean inside with smartly dressed and friendly staff.

Tried this place for the first time last year, and by far the best Kebab I have ever had. Took me ages to remember the name, but my wife found it. So I am back in Cardiff tonight to try another. fingers crossed it doesnt disappoint.

First time using this establishment and I wasn’t disappointed I had a chicken wing meal deal which is fantastic value for money and wings are amazing. Staff super friendly and efficient an over lovely experience would definitely recommend and will be back again soon

Ordered a chicken filet burger , bun was soggy and soaked , chicken was undercooked , stringy and had veins throughout. Will not be ordering from here again.

Great local place with really lovely chips. Though I wonder why a small chip must £1.70 and you get a massive portion to feed 2 people, which ends up being wasted. Surely, you can do a truly small 1 person chips portion at £1 or so and that £1.70 portion is sold as medium.

The old Clarks fish shop on Clifton street . The mixed doner wrap in here is top notch . Good variety of meal deals. Worth a visit .

Decent place. We had fish and chips on the first night. Fish was decent but chips was dry. Decent portions. On our second visit, we had a burger meal, which was decent. Upon being asked, staff informed of the dry food from the day but did not seem too bothered. Some communication issues. Worth a try but nothing to write home about. MM.

Without a doubt THE BEST Fish n Chips I have ever had. 1) Biggest portion I ever got. I thought the large box will be a typical portion, but it was massive and I could not eat it in one sitting. 2) The fish was perfectly flaky and the batter nice and crispy. Fries were also prefect. 3) Just out of curiosity I ordered a small pizza and it was actually better than many pizza places. 4) Very reasonable prices considering the portion size and quality of ingredients. 10/10 would order again!

Wow...since I have been in Cardiff the past couple of months I have tried several F&C shops....all of which disappointed. I ordered a delivery tonight....cod and chips....Absolutely faultless.....I DO ask for the fish to be wrapped separately as otherwise it gets steamed by the chips(!). Unusual for me I was not sure I could finish it!!!! Th ONLY place I will get F&C from in the future!

Echoes mighty cod but they're fish is not Mighty I would have thought that having the name mighty cod you will expect a bigger piece of fish than what I got today at lunch apart from that are chips are really nice their prices on set meals are really good but don't have high hopes for the fish being mighty as you will be disappointed like I was

It’s definitely the best takeaway in Cardiff by far. From fish and chips to kebabs and southern fried things to grilled and oven food ... everything is delicious ... its a clean shop with high hygiene levels.. totally worth for your money .. only critic for this place is that it’s nearly 30 miles away from my home.. I hope they open one in Newport soon..☺️

We've had home deliveries of fish and chips from Mighty Cod and I have to say it's probably the best we've had. Huge portions! The chips are home cut (no frozen rubbish), the fish is fresh and tasty and the batter is light with no sogginess at all. Definitely our only choice for fish and chips now.

I previously reviewed The Mighty Bite when it first opened as excellent however over time there has been a gradual decline. I now feel in fairness I must comment. To my mind this establishment has now become at best average and my poor score above reflects my disappointment of what it was. Has there been a change of ownership ?

Pedí pescado y patatas fritas como sé lo bonito que es, pero yo normalmente cuando en ponty, pero decidí ya tuve un día ajetreado y era tarde. Mala decisión! Manera tomó más de una hora, y para cuando llegó a mí estaba listo para ir a la cama. . Lo que terminé perder todo como estaba fría cuando llegó y era demasiado largo para esperar, no quiero comer en el final, así que fui a la papelera! De malgastar el dinero y muy decepcionado: /

Mejor que el viejo lugar tengo que decir por ahora. Recientemente renovado y reabierto. Tenía una buena comida/llevar la última noche y los precios parecen un poco más barato que la media. Las patatas fritas eran patatas fritas al 'y estás preparado, tal vez sólo ligeramente superó underdone pero limpio y sabroso como utilizaron aceite nuevo. Ala de pollo sabroso, no demasiado wasa seco pero un poco pequeña. Kebab de pollo era fantástico, uno de los mejores que he tenido (haber solicitado "no cocinar dos veces, ya que creo que ahora es por el "gran hermano" autoridad local ya que, no sé de ningún cliente, han exigido este como una medida de seguridad/salud! ). Lamentablemente se olvidaron de poner salsa de ajo (de nuevo) en el Kebab delicioso en sí. Ensalada era fresco también. Disfrutamos de la comida.

Food cooked and presented with perfection. Large portions, perfectly cooked, hot and freshly prepared. Staff are lovely and cannot help enough to make sure your food is perfect.Cod and chips, kebabs, hot drinks and lovely clean and fresh seating area too. This is a completely refurbished and superior cafe/ takeaway with great care taken by the new owners to ensure only the best for their customers. Deliveries available too. The best fish and chips ever.

This restaurant is under new management and is called The Mighty Bite and not The Mighty Cod - since November 2016. The food is fresh and tasty and the place is spotlessly clean. I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat in Pontypridd. Very friendly and welcoming. Gareth.

Can't fault the food. Fish and chips were fresh and fish wasn't over cooked like in many places. Coffee was great too. Went back again to have a veggie burger and yet again it was really good. Staff are lovely too. Been informed it has recently undergone new management and has had a massive refurb.

We ordered 2 chicken shish kebabs which arrived half an hour early when we specifically asked for it to be delivered at 2 pm. When I opened the container expecting to see sliced chicken breast with lots of salad, I was confronted with a pathetic little salad and some kind of unrecognisable meat (I think) formed into a sausage shape. I phoned to complain and the member of staff I spoke to was totally unhelpful. £16 down the drain. I wouldn't feed it to the dog

Honestly, I've eaten here for the past 15 years and all I can say is, it's gone so far downhill it's unreal. Passed from owner to owner, it's not been the same since Ranah owned it years ago. The menu hasn't changed but the quality has. They admitted they change the oil a few times a year... Yes, a year. The chips often taste of fish and the kebabs are so greasy. Always chavs hanging around outside and there's one staff member who, even in the cooking area during the summer, wears the same jacket. Never takes it off. Plus she has a girl who maybe her daughter, back and forth between the eating, cooking and outdoor area picking her nose etc. One lovely lady in there, short blonde lady. She's been there since it opened but sadly I guess limited to whatever the owner does. It's currently closed for refurbishment which no doubt means an inspection is due....

Just short of THO HOURS to deleiver pie & chips. Unbelievable. I phoned after 90 minutes and was told he was on the way. He wasn't. Restaurant is about 1 mile from my door. Food OK when eventually arrived but my lunchtime was over.

Ordered food bang on 12, and had food delivered 2 hours later!!! I even asked if delivery was a problem let me know and I would of picked up. Shame. Only plus was it was actually hot when it turned up, with two hungry teenagers! If you want speedy delivery this isn't the takeaway to use.
