Just had fish. It's not cooked! This place have gone down hill.will not be going there again.

Useless burnt chips and basically crap. It's been like this for some time, time to write a review. Avoid.

Had chicken and chips it was so overdone I could just about swallow it.also had dirty burger and had to wait about 30 minutes for it.also the staff are unpleasant

Not sure I’ve ever felt the urge to review a takeaway but last night, for about 20 minutes, my daughter in law and I sat, mainly opened mouthed, observing the staff at this fish shop! The woman with glasses and dark hair, did nothing but shout, embarrass and clearly stress the team around her, and, us as customers, several of us waiting glanced at each other as she snapped and shouted. There are a lot of staff working here and from what we could see, all were busy and efficient, this woman clearly not appreciating this was rude! “Why is that there” she shouted at one young girl. Who replied “because you told me to put it there” and she said oh! And no apology followed. Several more episodes of snapping did though We felt tense and relieved after 20 minutes that we could get away from the atmosphere. The poor staff had to stay I know some people have a bad day, it is a busy place but it’s business and I appreciate it’s not a restaurant but it’s still a place where paying members of the public should expect good service, polite staff and at least standard customer service. (The rest of the staff all pleasant) if this woman is like this all the time, I genuinely feel for the people who work there. For us, we thankfully rarely have fish shop food so can avoid this experience The food, nice. Big portions but that’s not what we talked about, the experience of Ramsay in Bryncae was the chat over dinner

Had to wait for chips to cook which is understandable, lots of very crispy & greasy chips. Not a thank you from the lady who had wrapped the chips up. Fish cake must have been last weeks as it looked like it was likely to start decomposing. Food is rotten, would have had a better meal if I had searched through the bin outside there.

Really disappointed in the service I've just received. I've had food here in the past and it's been fine which is why I went there tonight. One member of staff behind the counter is lacking in customer service skills massively. I didn't realise it was cash only and I was told in an abrupt, passive aggressive manner that it was. Kindness costs nothing! I left feeling embarrassed and will certainly not be returning anytime soon.

First time ordering , delivery was quick and the food was spot on. Will definitely order again 👍🏻✅

Unfortunately ordered online and took over 1 and half hours for delivery. Food was good but when you order online and an eta time is given and its not be possible maybe call the people that ordered and advise so we can make a decision!

Just had large chips from Bryncae fish bar shop, got back to mine open the bag to see all the chips where burnt. Tried a few which were really bad 👎 My partner said the same I said I'm going back as this is terrible she said not to, but I did. Asked could I speak to the manager, I'd like my money back she said the chips where like this because of the potatoes, (What Burnt) she gave me money back for a small bag chips when I said I bought a big bag she said I'd only bought a small bag back and that they could only refund that. STAY AWAY as chips were terrible and does not care about customers.

I always like the fish and chips here. The fish is always nicely prepared, sizable and flaky and as a general rule I find the portions generous particularly with the chips.

Nice chunky chips, no the biggest fish, but very nice. For those who like curry with their chips, it is rather on the hot side, however the chicken curry is cooler.

Ordered fish n chips, steak n kidney pie ( full to the brim) chips n gravy, safely and risible which was homemade and huge. What can I say except excellent. Ordered 6.30, delivered by 7pm by a lovely pleasant young man. This is the plaice ( get the pun) to go for collection or delivery. Won't go anywhere else now

You can't always park here but it does have a biggish menu. Can be a bit hiss and miss with the quality of the chips as this shop is open all afternoon so the chips are sometimes only warm rather than freshly cooked, they also cater for the smaller appetite with small fish and chips. This shop does home deliveries.

Staff are excellent and never had a bad order all hot and tasty

Poor service, they seem more interested in chatting to each other while your left waiting to be acknowledged and place your order. Chips always seem dry and shrivelled and fish seems tasteless

Just had a delivery, not happy at all chips were burnt and freezing cold and the pots of curry and gravy were freezing, wont be ordering again very disappointed 😒

Staff have no respect for residents when leaving their work around 10pm, standing outside the shop shouting and screaming and all gathering around their cars with music blasting. Chavs🤢

Amazing food and customer service

The menu here has some nice snacks on when I'm rushing around inbetween jobs. The best value for money is the dirty burger which has bacon cheese and a dip/sauce for about £3.50. Nice chips to go with it as well.

Best fish and chips in the area every time! Lovely chips. Nice white fish with thin crispy batter. Just how fish and chips should be. We live in Pontyclun but always go to Bryncae for fish and chips

This is a traditional fish and chip shop serving the community of Bryncae offering a great selection of family favourites such as sausage in batter, potato fritters, rissoles, chip butties and pies. The chip shop also sells the Bryncae signature dirty fries / burgers (topped with cheese, burger sauce, crispy onions and bacon) and chicken nugget / onion ring share boxes. This is the first time that we have visited this fish shop and ordered fish bites, chicken balti pie and large chips. The service was quick, the fish was cooked fresh to order and the portion sizes were adequate. The food was very tasty and next time we visit we will try the dirty fries.

Whilst in a firebreak lockdown... neither staff member working with a mask, two JustEat drivers wandering around without masks on, a staff member from Scoops next door walks in for a credit card reader without a mask on, then a staff member from Subway just walks in and through in to the back of the place without a mask on. Coronavirus hotspot 👌.

The owner is very rude and was rude to the staff when I was there. The lady who served me was polite and friendly. Thats the only good thing I have to say about the place. The chips were overcooked and horrible. Very over priced. Won't be going again.

Friendly and polite staff. Chips are always to a good standard...the new burgers are great and a nice change from the traditional chippy. Would recommend.

Ordered fish bites and chips Dirty fries/chips Absolutely awful and well over priced! More batter than fish and looked nothing like fish bites, more the size of marbles. Dirty fries were described as crispy bacon, onions, jalapeños and melted cheese, no jalapeños, plastic cheese and nothing crispy about the bacon and onions! Chips weren’t great either. Will definitely not be ordering from there again......

Ordered fish and the fast becoming famous dirty burger. Ordering was very easy over the phone , collection was prompt. Staff were very polite and friendly, faultless service. Food was lovely and not greasy. No bone sin fish either. Recommend

Rude to me when attempting to read the sign outside saying "what does she want now!?"very abruptly As it was my first time ordering during pandemic. Made to feel very unwelcome . Needless to say wont be back.

First time, friendly staff, but the chips were grey and seemed like they had been reheated from the night before. Fish not very impressive either. As they are serving from the doorway you can not see the meal before you get it.

Terrible. From what I have heard they treat their staff unfairly and speak to them horribly. Disgusting.
