Delicious food, highly recommend trying as much off the menu as you can, and sharing across the table (as is usually the goal with Tapas). Not a huge venue, maybe only seats ~30 people total, but worth a visit if you can.

Huge disappointment!! My daughter took me out last night 26.3.25 for a treat tea. Really looking forward to a selection of vegetarian tapas..Patatas brava a firm favourite arrived looking like huge chunks of boiled potatoes with tomato sauce on!! Not as expected. Mushrooms were nice although a VERY SMALL portion even for a tapas. Feta cheese dish was ok . The smoked haddock fish cake was a quarter of a centimeter thick but gave us a giggle because it looked so pathetic alone on the plate and definately did not contain any fish and was rock hard. Had I been treating my daughter I would most definately complained about the quality of food. I didn't feel it fair to complain to the young waitress, as this is a management issue. Didn't notice any other staff available. Left very unhappy and hungry. It was hideously expensive for what we ate!! She's a hard working Paramedic on the island and I feel she was robbed of hard earned wages! Got home and made garlic mushrooms on sourdough with a green salad. We both work and live on Anglesey and support local all year round but would feel nervous to recommend The Midland

Booked well in advance, had booked to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. We arrived well in time for our booking. It took a while for drink and food orders to be taken and it took around 45 minutes for tapas to start arriving. We didn't order a starter, just some tapas dishes all ordered at the same time. Tapas dishes were all quite tasty. When waitress finally cleared - about 20 minutes after we finished our food, we wanted to order dessert and were told our table was booked so we would have to move to a rather unappealing high table in the middle of the room. We moved, Churos finally arrived over 30 mins after ordering and they weren't very nice, all the Cinnamon sugar was stuck to 1 Churos and the rest were bland and the strawberry sauce was tasteless and watery. I understand that there should be time limits on a booking, but surely allowing enough time for customers to have a dessert should be a standard. We are not slow eaters either. Our whole experience was tainted by that and the unappealing dessert. It was not a cheap meal - over £90 for meal and 2 pints and 2 cokes. I don't mind paying for good food and service, but felt let down. We won't return and would definitely not recommend.

Tasty menu, feels very rustic, has recently evolved into a more pizza/themed Tapas rather than pure tapas. Portions are a good size and hats off to anyone who can eat a Detroit pizza alongside 3 small plates (interesting twist on your normal thin crust) Special mention for: wines in a 500ml carafe, bread, creamy mussels and lamb, the back room atmosphere. Well done guys.

There were 4 of us ventured to The Midland and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing as was the wine and the service was 1st class. Zoe deserves a pay rise! She juggled serving drinks and bringing dishes as well as wiping down tables while always smiling. Would highly recommend and it's the best tapas we've had.

The service was extremely slow , had to wait for almost 30 minutes to be served drinks . Food took far too long to come, and the quality of the tapas was shocking. Watery squishy garlic mushrooms swimming in a watery Sauce . Same for the prawns . The chilly garlic bread came out burned . The 2 chefs seemed to struggle to get all the food out on time . Shame as we used to love coming here to eat .

We were on holiday at Henllys and booked a table for four for an evening meal. We were very pleasantly welcomed by Arwen and she looked after us very well indeed. We settled for the tapas section of the menu and chose a big selection between us. Everything was delicious. I’m a sucker for Padron peppers and ours were absolutely delicious 😋. We had the patatas bravas, the peking pig (deliciously cooked belly pork), hot honey wings, crispy calamari, prosciutto crisp and green olives. All totally recommended. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

A request from a regular customer please please please ditch the new menu it completely didn't work tonight. Your tapas is fabulous and thankfully most my favourites were on the reduced menu. But two of our party ordered a Detroit pizza and a pasta dish which took over an hour to come out and the pizza base wasn't cooked properly, totally inedible. The young staff on handled things very well as they were getting a lot of complaints. Tapas is what you do best and it has always been delicious it doesn't need to be complicated by pizzas and pasta!!

What's happened ??? At our last visit (18 months ago when on holiday))we had a fabulous choice of unusual, delicious and beautifully cooked tapas. Last night there was a very slimmed down tapas menu. Boring old calamari, prawns, patatas bravas. Yawn. So much so we both elected for main courses of paella & risotto. I genuinely don't think I have ever seen such a shockingly bad bowl of "paella". A couple of rusty, rock hard pieces of chorizo. The preponderance of dried out peas finished me off. This is the first time I have left a restaurant without eating anything. We paid for our wine & left. Like someone else has commented in the reviews, the young serving staff were kind and understanding in this most embarrassing and uncomfortable situation. They were last night too. A shockingly bad experience and a dreadful fall from grace.

hidden away in the streets of Beaumaris, at the end of the isle of anglesey, on what feels like the last bit of land before the Menai Strait stretches out across the horizon, you will find the Midland Tapas bar. Unassuming from the outside, once inside you are welcomed with deep rich dark blues and welcoming staff and soft tunes. The selection of tapas is relatively standard but the quality is above par. The Pan Tomaca especially was a feast for the tastebuds. A nice accompanying glass of red and a tasty cinamonny dessert made evening complete. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating and the service was excellent and quick, considering it was quite busy and there only seemed to be a small team working. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Delicious tapas date with my partner and our 2 dogs. Waitress was attentive to us and our dogs and brought them a bowl of water. We were accidentally given the vegetarian Paella instead of the chicken and Chorizo Paella so they remade the correct one and we got the vegetarian one for free. In total we had 6 dishes between 2 of us and we were both full up. If I had to recommend 1 dish it would be the Peeking Pig, it was delicious. We'll definitely be coming back here.

I ate in the Midlands as part of a group of other mum’s. First thing to say is that the food was superb, as per normal! However, it felt like we weren’t really wanted. The waiting staff weren’t rude but they also weren’t as attentive as they could have been. We were asked for drinks at the start of the evening and then not asked again for the rest of the evening! Feels like a missed opportunity for the restaurant! A couple of us would have ordered more cocktails if we had been prompted (we were busy chatting!). We even had to ask for water, again no prompt from the staff. Lights were turned off in the back part of the restaurant at 9 and we were told at 10 past 9 that the restaurant closes at 10 (first time being told this). It did feel like our evening has been cut short a bit. We wouldn’t have stayed super late (school night!) but we would have liked to have stayed a bit longer than 10 and for it to not have felt like we were being turfed out. Such a shame as we are all locals!!

I came for dinner this evening and ordered the tofu katsu curry (as I have been vegetarian for years). My Mum ordered the pork katsu. Our server brought the first dish and said it was the tofu katsu curry, so obviously I started eating it. I was half way through the dish before I got to the middle of the katsu and realised it was not tofu. We asked the server if they had definitely given me the right dish. After checking with the kitchen she said they had given me the pork to eat and called it the tofu. Although they apologised and said it would be taken off the bill, they didn’t seem to care all that much they had left a vegetarian to eat meat for the first time in years. I left feeling upset and very shaken at the experience.

The food was delicious for 3 out of 4 of us (not asked how a friend wanted the steak cooked, it was rare, asked for it to be cooked well done as was her preference but it came back a 2nd time medium rare & very chewy & by that time, we had all finished so it was removed from the bill) - it was also let down by sending food out in dribs & drabs, despite it being tapas, this didn't work as long waits in between, so we weren't actually able to eat all at the same time, this was such a shame & would mean I wouldn't probably go back. The service was hampered by this but she was very sweet. Nice music playing, very clean & has a classy feel about it. Located on the high St in Beaumaris so conveniently located. Such a shame the kitchen let it down - especially as I had terriaki salmon that was beautiful & the belly pork & mini burgers were good too. A HUGE disappointment was 'Spanish Breads' £5.90. Sliced 'artisan' bread, served cold, no dips only olive oil & balsamic in bottles.... available in most supermarkets for around 79p!!! Total rip off.

What a find... Arrived in Beaumaris for a long weekend and spotted this very unassuming restaurant on the main street. The menu was really eclectic serving a fusion of traditional Spanish tapas and small plates from other Mediterranean countries. Staff were lovely and knowledgeable about the dishes which were cooked on order and so remained hot throughout the meal...no cold patatas bravas after 5 minutes! The artisan bread came with oil, balsamic vinegar and an empty bowl so we were able to mix them together to our own taste and as much as we needed..bliss! Often you get only about four prawns in gambas pil-pil, here the prawns were plentiful in a rich thicker sauce which was really really delicious. Could have eaten here every night!

Difficult to write much of a review as we did not get to eat any food although the food we saw passing our table did look good. Long and short we were sat at our table and waited 20 minutes, in this time we were not offered the drinks menu or spoken to there was no eye contact from any staff which led us to get up and leave. We fully understand that the restaurant was busy but you cannot ignore your customers a simple conversation of “we will be with you shortly as we are really busy” would suffice and we may have stayed. So unfortunately for us it wasn’t an experience we enjoyed.

Average food and service at best. On arriving at 6.30pm told immediately table booked out again for 8pm. 1.5 hours time slot not enough time for 6 persons to dine, enjoy cocktails and drinks. Over salted food especially the midland special seasoning on the chips was too much! Starters ordered but came out adhoc with the main course - don't advertise a starter if they come out randomly - keep it as simply tapas dishes. Ran out of time to have a pudding. Didn't leave a tip. Been here several times over the years and it has always been nice but it has gone severely downhill in terms of quality and value for money. Sad to say we won't be returning. Overpriced, half-baked 'Asian fusion'. Nearly £9 for small bowl of fries with essentially chip shop curry sauce. £11 for paella with 4 small pieces of chicken. £7 for a poor attempt at sushi rice with a small omelette. Padron Peppers nearly £9. From our experience we should have gone over the road to the chip shop or gone to a Chinese restaurant. Would suggest to avoid.

The food was very poor. Fast food prepared in a microwave! Spanish Artisan Breads came with two sauces. Tomatoes with olive oil, bland, no flavour. A garlic mayo spread, this was OK, nothing special. Albondigas a la Jardinera - now, this is supposed be meat ball with spices. I know, I have a Spanish background, my family cooked this regularly. This was a highly blended pureè with spices but, mushy! Flavourless, no real flavours that stood out. They got the peas right with tomato sauce but again, the sauce was....dead in flavour. Here is the best part. Muscles with cream sauce, marinere. The muscle was minute, overcooked again, no flavour, dry. The sauce was salty. These so called tapas were extremely, yuck with every mouthful. I'm not a chef but, I could rustle up a far better dish. Please, purchase fresh ingredients, Easy to provide tapas with flavour.

I never write reviews but this has driven me to. It was laughable how bad the food was, and shocked us because of the extensive 5 star reviews. We ordered 4 dishes. All were bad but the beef with bean shoots was actually the worst dish we’ve ever had. It was slimy and greasy and had a weird chemical taste. Also the menu is really confusing, it’s a weird mix of Spanish, Asian, American dishes that just don’t go together. I know this is an opinion but I’m not sure how it’s enjoyable. Hopefully we were just really unlucky with our selection because if they are serving food like this consistently I’m not sure how they get good reviews. The only upside is that the server was friendly and attentive.

We ate here on the weekend, wasn’t too busy but we were early. My husband ordered 4 dishes, I ordered 2. My patatas bravas came out first with my husbands straw fries and his calamari, apparently they do just send stuff out when it’s ready and not all together. Waited a while before my belly pork came out. Would rather they were sent out together. Food was very tasty. We enjoyed it. The one thing that let the place down was the staff. They were not very friendly, nobody checked that we were ok or needed more drinks, when ordering we felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience. I really think they would have preferred us not to be there. It’s very off putting. They wouldn’t get very far without us customers! Hopefully just a one off, but although we enjoyed the food, we’d be reluctant to return, especially when other places in town are just as good for food and provide a warm welcome!

Date night and thought we'd treat ourselves to a nice night out. As we love a good Tapas Bar this sounded like the perfect place. We couldn't have been more wrong. For the price, the food we had was so far below par that Jack Nicholson would have been happy with the score! As we were only a street away from the seaside you would have thought that the Tropical seafood taco's would have had something fresh in it!!! Miniature frozen prawns and chopped up crabsticks from the local Co-Op in a watery 80's prawn cocktail sauce does not equate to a fresh tropical dish... and not a mango in sight as described on the menu! And then, when I addressing the issue with the waitress, she took our concern to the kitchen, we could see the staff laughing and dismissing her. Very rude and totally unprofessional. First time we've ever left a restaurant hungrier than when we went in!!! Couldn't have been more disappointed. Really nice busy place, great service and good range of quality tapas. Wine range could be a bit cheaper, otherwise fantastic experience.

Some tasty dishes available. Particularly enjoyed the mackerel pate. Some good wine and beer availability too. Fast and friendly service.

The food was excellent and with one of the party having an egg allergy she didn't miss out as the chef went through the whole menu.

We have dined at the midland many times since it opened and always had good food in the past but on this occasion we were very underwhelmed. The restaurant felt tired and the food fell short of its usual standards. It was all just ok! The service was average too. Such a shame as we always enjoyed visiting.

If you’re in for a real, positive surprise, then go to the Midlands tapas in Beaumaris. The food is superb. An exquisite fusion of Spanish tapas with Japanese delicacies. Forget all the other restaurants or hotels, this tapas bar is the place to be.

Lovely place! Could be superb! only niggle was service.... no offer of more drinks when they could see our glasses were empty. Server brought over a dish we didn't order and proceeded to tell us of saying "well I took the order, are you sure you didn't order this" He put through correct order and another server brought it over but didn't offer any salt or pepper! It was a Tuesday evening and I could be a little more understanding if it was a busy weekend evening. The venue itself and the food was worth the 4 stars

A gem of a pub. Our absolute favourite on the island. Have had some brilliant times in this original old pub. The guys that run it are warm and welcoming, and they have music nights where you can mingle with the musicians and even play along. There's also a jukebox and pool table in the younguns side. And a toasty warm fire burning at the back. Our only regret is that we didn't visit even more often!

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.
