Lovely Sunday Dinner with our family foir clean plates, so many optikns for a Sunday including parmos. We will be back.

Booked table to celebrate a 90 Years old Birthday The food was amazing , the staff were excellent and even brought cake out and supplied plates, forks and candles. Everyone in pub sang happy Birthday which made his day. Nothing from the staff was too much trouble and again the food was amazing. 100% recommend

I used to rate highly of here.always try the specials.and have to say the last 2 have been disapointing.wasnt even busy and took 30minutes to be served and the meal was greasy an as if had been just thrown together after 30minutes expect better..

Mixed experience. Booked in for food but were greeted by an unfriendly lady. The other staff were all fine so I’m guessing she was just having a bad day. 2 Parmos were very good but one had a funny taste. It’s a loud place to eat which can get a bit tiring after an hour. Overall not the best experience.

Called in on our way home from Ropner Park in Stockton, hadn't booked but the lovely lady on reception found us a table for 6 no problem even on a very busy Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, we ordered a large Bolognese hot shot parmo and shared it between 3 with extra chips, onion rings and garlic dip to go with it, children's chicken nuggets, chips and beans were polished off nicely by the children, the bill including 3 large cokes came to £40 but fed 3x adults and 2 children, everyone left stuffed with no room for I've cream on the way home to Hartlepool.

Great wee pub. Good prices, superb staff and all the sport on request.

Went for lunch today the guy who served us seemed very rushed not listening to.our order & messed it up . They forgot our portion of coleslaw each & 1 portion of salad & it was.nt that busy @3pm pub was nearly empty when we nearly finished our meal

Had a large hotshot parmo - huge amount of food and staff put in a box for me to take home. Seated quickly and happy overall. Would return

One of the best parmos in the area!

Went for the first time this week, and cam safely say that it will not be the last. The food was excellent and the portion sizes excellent value for money. The staff are really friendly and always happy to help. It does get busy so it can be worthwhile ringing ahead to book a table to avoid disappointment.

Food was delicious, good drinks and very good staff. It was just extremely warm inside.

The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. If a chicken parmo is your thing you won't be disappointed as I can honestly say they are some of the best I have tasted and are reasonably priced, you definitely won't be disappointed. Definitely book a table before you go as they are always busy. 👍🏻

We were recommended to come here for The Parmo. We weren't disappointed. Ordered a Full Hotshot. Far too much for one sitting. Had what was left boxed up to take home. Booking advised for a weekend .

First time we have visited here. It was for a 50th birthday in the family. We had a roomy two tables, we decorated them with banners and balloons. The staff were great, they gave us plenty of time to order and when the food came it was delicious and the portions were generous. Several took home doggy boxes. It is reasonably priced and no one hurried us. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful food, come here regularly but unfortunately MICHELLE, front of house has an appallingly attitude. 2 days consecutive, her attitude and manners are disgraceful, I was not the only one to say this, I recommend a Customer Care Course. The rest of the team are absolutely delightful and could not apologise enough

Went for sons birthday and which be warned we had to book in advance. You can’t just to just turn up and expect to given a table as word as spread . We ordered a range of meals from a southern fried Parmo , which is really good to garlic chicken really nice to braised beef on the specials ,all was excellent. Top tip book a table before you go .

Food is fantastic here, had the legendary Parmo on 1 visit, then the mixed kebab which was also amazing a must try, book make sure you book mon-fri or you will struggle to get in

Liver was tough and kids noisy including one riding a scooter.

Foods good got a takeaway portion small for a large didn't receive extra garlic what paid for

Went hear expecting great things. And was slightly let down. I'd say worth ago if your a parmo lover but wouldn't say it was as good as everyone rave about.

One of the best parmos I’ve ever had! Absolutely outstanding!

Although the food was nice The service was atrocious We had to wait nearly an hour for our order which was suprising because there wasnt many peaple in When we pointed out that peaple where getting served before us even though they came in after us The staff became quite surly So if your a friend of the waiting staff you probably might served in turn But if not expect a long wait with daft excuses Shant be returning

To be fair, if you want decent pub grub then you could do a lot worse than here. Portion size is generous, and the quality isn't too bad.

Came to see if Merlins Parmo lived up to the hype. Got a Al Funghi Parmo (half) and we were very satisfied. Great taste, great size, great chips, garlic mayo and salad. Service was quick, staff were friendly, atmosphere was great and parking easy.

Place quite full, we hadn't booked a table ( it was 16.10) but could get a table had to vacate by 17.30.. Meal was good but mix up on order Ordered :1 Large bolognese parmo, fries & salad 1 Small bolognese parmo fries & salad. Food arrived large plain parmo, chips & salad. Small bolognese parmo, chips & salad. Was asked to change to fries didn't want to wait. Food tasted good though Went again this time ordered Steak pie, mash & vegetables Garlic Chicken, saute potatoes & vegetables Very tasty

A bit rough full of chavs. The food is passable but for what they charge they should do table service. Certainly not fine dining.

My first time trying a chicken parmo in The Merlin Inn pub it was unreal definitely up there with one of the best parmesans I've had I'll be coming back again soon to try more different food I 100% would recommend this place

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and was very lucky to get a table as they were very busy... I would definitely book if I went again as like I say they seem to get very busy... Saw loads turned away just after we got sat down because we were near the door... I had a full parmo and my wife had mince and dumplings.. Parmo was superb and nearly as big as the plate.. Definitely one of the best I've had and at £14 well worth the money... Chips were homemade and very nice. Wife's mince and dumplings were good and well worth the money also... We did wait about half an hour for our meals but hey it's obviously all cooked fresh and you should expect to wait I reckon.. Would I visit again.. Definitely 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stopped for a drink with family. It was a quiet evening and ideal for a family catch-up. Everywhere was clean, tidy and well presented and the staff were polite and courteous.

Didn’t really have high expectations with it been in Billingham but looked past it should have listened to my instincts. Rough pub, rough people, awful food.

Tried here once before for a parmo. I didn’t like it and the pub looks like a social club with just the local alcoholics in side and people smoking weed outside the door so the carpark and entrance to the put just stinks of cannabis. I wouldn’t recommend

I wouldn't really say this is a nice restaurant it just feels like a social club or a campsite club house I wouldn't fancy being around at night as it was quite ruff lots of broken glass and groups of bad boy racers wouldn't return the food was just OK

We went out for day out with family,I order which is special on offers beef stir-fry noodle,I ask instead of noodle if I can have rice,they said ok,we have to wait more than an hour,my food were looks like baby food too sweet only few beef on top i couldn't eat it,I told the staff about it,they didn't even were bothered about it so disappointed.

Unfortunately we were unable to eat on this occasion. My partner, myself, and 2 of our grandchildren went for tea around 20 past 5. Despite there being lots of tables and seating available, we were told that there was no availability because tables were booked for the quiz later that night. I'm pretty sure the quiz wouldn't have started before 6.30 pm, and we'd have left by then. Disappointing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, it was busy, hadn't booked (will next time) but we were allocated a table immediately. Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and very good food selection on menu. Will call again.

Ate here today at lunchtime for the first time after hearing good reviews from work colleagues and the food is lovely. Staff were welcoming and friendly. It was busy so i'm glad i booked. Fantastic menu, very reasonable prices and sizable portions. Took my mum today but will definitely return with the rest of the family.

Food is gorgeous but the service massively lets it down. Been twice now and it's been same both times. First time we booked a party of 12 and put us on two tables. Told us each table has to order and pay at once (which got be confusing as we were oaying for the kids who were at other table) then food came 20 minutes apart. Second time Booked a table of 6. Paid for 4 meals and my husband behind me paid for 2 meals straight after, same table. Food came 25 minutes apart. We were finished eating when their food came and left while they were still eating. We were told cos the meals were booked with 3 minutes between, that's why the food came late. When I asked "it was for the same table, he was next in the queue, does a 3 minute gap justify a 25 minute wait?". I was stared at blankly by the staff, no apology. Gorgeous food, shame about the till system and service.

A very popular place. We hadn't booked (advisable you do on a Friday). But the gentleman made room for us, as there was only 2. Food very good, service ok. As it was so busy, it was rather loud. All in all we would recommend The Merlin.

It took more than 30 minutes to serve us the food, and because we complained. I don't like having to go and order food and drinks at the bar. the bathrooms are from the 80s, they are scary

Food was terrible chicken strips. Friend got scampi was cooked in same pan so tasted spicy.
