first time in merlin today bbq pork parmo 1/2 . Best parmo in Cleveland Going again in a few weeks

Decent pub but Extortionate prices you pay that in a city it's Billingham not a City other than that loved it

Got Cheeseburger and Hotshot Parmesan. Service excellent. Really large portion size’s and the food was absolutely excellent. Appeared to be as good as you can get in terms of home cooked.

Ordered a full southern fried chicken Parmo, first time I have had one would definitely order one again. They didn't go overboard on the bechamel which is always good imo and the breadcrumbing didn't go soggy and fall off which I think goes a long way.

Had the parmo again, huge portion, best around, nice family friendly atmosphere, great place.

A very busy pub but managed well. The team were on point serving both food and drinks for customers. We came and had great service and delicious fresh food, two paroms, steak and ale pie and a burger. Good value for money left feeling full and satisfied, our second visit today and won’t be our last.

Been a good few years since trying the Merlin parmo selection but it still smashed it out the park in my opinion. For the price of them you’re certainly not left feeling empty if you manage to finish one. Bolognese was a very good shout from me to add a little extra to your normal one. All came to us in good time. Won’t be leaving it years for my next visit 👍

Always fantastic food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend 👌 only reason for less stars on the service was due to tables not being cleared promptly but that's not the end of the world.

After booking a table and asking staff if you cater for both gf/df to arrive and not been able to eat anything because you couldn't do gf df option apart from a veggie chilli which,so while my friends family were all eating I did without I'm not v happy and if you couldn't cater for both allergens then you shouldn't of taken the booking

Very busy, I had liver/potatoes &veg, ok but the veg was under cooked (still raw).

Booked The Merlin for 6 people for this evening, when we arrived there was no booking, and they were fully booked, but the two ladies sorted it, took some doing, they handled the situation very professionally and calmly, so thank you ladies and the food and service was brilliant ty

Ordered the bbq pulled pork parmo and the chips were okay but the parmo itself was vile it would be better if there was no batter on the chicken would recommend trying something else

First visit but won't be the last. Popped in for some lunch Saturday. Checked out the specials board and went for the African lamb shank curry. Very impressed for a pub curry, decent portion and nice and hot temperature wise. Best to book a table as it seemed fairly busy and this lead to a fair wait for the food but worth it.

A fantastic pub with a wide variety of dishes. We discovered this gem through a Facebook group discussing the famous Teesside Parmos. Now, we drive up from Bedale whenever we get the chance. The Sunday roasts are fabulous too! Well done The Merlin staff - you do a great job.

Bit of a joke tbh. Looked forward to this as all week as hyped about their perfect parmos. Went in and ordered our food ( 4 parmos ). Asked about one to takeaway in a box for a child who could attend the party. Told to pay upfront and request when to get it so its still warm, makes sense. We'll food came out including the one in the takeaway box. When asked about what's happening a blonde girl with all the answers says we've been told wrong and it can't be kept warm so more ornless lump it or leave it. Snotty brat. The parmos are nothing but abysmally that we ate and left more than 60% of it all. Way way too salty and if I can suggest... go to bisons in norton or even the stables in wynyard!!! So much better. We did get asked if we would like some sauces, when we asked for some chilli the brat counted the table and said oh your not 8 people only 6... you have to get up and go to the bar and order your own sauce and wait for it. Shambolic service and needs teaching personal skills. Also tell the chef salt isn't a main product of parmos. Total waste of 80quid and can promise you don't believe the hype it's mediocre at best.

Been here several times. Always lovely food and service. Parmos are gorgeous and I had mushroom stroganoff last time I was there. Prices are good too. Family favourite of ours.

Food is gorgeous, I opted for the harmony wrap as this was a lunch time , but colleagues had the marmoset and regretted not getting the real deal. Always tasty and reasonable priced. Need to book tables as gets very busy. Car park has plenty of spaces but at peak tines can be a struggle. Love it here if you have yet to , get yourself there

The food is spectacular and the portions are huge, and the service is absolutely superb! I can highly recommend the Inferno Parmo, if you like it hot! 100% will return, it's a great place to catch up with friends and have a drink and some amazing food. Cheers 🥰

Not too impressed last night first time there since the recent price increase and the last thing I was expecting was a much thinner parmo, yes it's big but the quality just isn't there when flattened out so much and piled with bechemel sauce.

The best parmo we have ever had, a fantastic place to eat with a great atmosphere, will definitely be returning!

Once again popped in for sunday lunch(booked over phone ) and what can I say,everything cooked to perfection ,plenty off food ,and all very tasty ,always busy which shows you it's going to be good,can't recommend it highly enough,sure to be back

Place quite full, we hadn't booked a table ( it was 16.10) but could get a table had to vacate by 17.30.. Meal was good but mix up on order Ordered :1 Large bolognese parmo, fries & salad 1 Small bolognese parmo fries & salad. Food arrived large plain parmo, chips & salad. Small bolognese parmo, chips & salad. Was asked to change to fries didn't want to wait. Food tasted good though Went again this time ordered Steak pie, mash & vegetables Garlic Chicken, saute potatoes & vegetables Very tasty

Wow!!!!!!! What a place!!!! Came highly recommended and did not disappoint, portion size, value for money, atmosphere, this place ticks all the boxes!!!!!!! You will see from the photos, I ordered a half Parmo with pulled pork, delicious!!!! Didn't get anywhere near finishing it, a full Parmo would feed a family of 4 for 2 days!!!!! All for less than £20, bargain!!!!!@

Booked table to celebrate a 90 Years old Birthday The food was amazing , the staff were excellent and even brought cake out and supplied plates, forks and candles. Everyone in pub sang happy Birthday which made his day. Nothing from the staff was too much trouble and again the food was amazing. 100% recommend

I used to rate highly of here.always try the specials.and have to say the last 2 have been disapointing.wasnt even busy and took 30minutes to be served and the meal was greasy an as if had been just thrown together after 30minutes expect better..

Mixed experience. Booked in for food but were greeted by an unfriendly lady. The other staff were all fine so I’m guessing she was just having a bad day. 2 Parmos were very good but one had a funny taste. It’s a loud place to eat which can get a bit tiring after an hour. Overall not the best experience.

Called in on our way home from Ropner Park in Stockton, hadn't booked but the lovely lady on reception found us a table for 6 no problem even on a very busy Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, we ordered a large Bolognese hot shot parmo and shared it between 3 with extra chips, onion rings and garlic dip to go with it, children's chicken nuggets, chips and beans were polished off nicely by the children, the bill including 3 large cokes came to £40 but fed 3x adults and 2 children, everyone left stuffed with no room for I've cream on the way home to Hartlepool.

Great wee pub. Good prices, superb staff and all the sport on request.

Went for lunch today the guy who served us seemed very rushed not listening to.our order & messed it up . They forgot our portion of coleslaw each & 1 portion of salad & it was.nt that busy @3pm pub was nearly empty when we nearly finished our meal

One of the best parmos in the area!

Went for the first time this week, and cam safely say that it will not be the last. The food was excellent and the portion sizes excellent value for money. The staff are really friendly and always happy to help. It does get busy so it can be worthwhile ringing ahead to book a table to avoid disappointment.

Food was delicious, good drinks and very good staff. It was just extremely warm inside.

The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. If a chicken parmo is your thing you won't be disappointed as I can honestly say they are some of the best I have tasted and are reasonably priced, you definitely won't be disappointed. Definitely book a table before you go as they are always busy. 👍🏻

We were recommended to come here for The Parmo. We weren't disappointed. Ordered a Full Hotshot. Far too much for one sitting. Had what was left boxed up to take home. Booking advised for a weekend .

First time we have visited here. It was for a 50th birthday in the family. We had a roomy two tables, we decorated them with banners and balloons. The staff were great, they gave us plenty of time to order and when the food came it was delicious and the portions were generous. Several took home doggy boxes. It is reasonably priced and no one hurried us. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely beautiful food, come here regularly but unfortunately MICHELLE, front of house has an appallingly attitude. 2 days consecutive, her attitude and manners are disgraceful, I was not the only one to say this, I recommend a Customer Care Course. Went for sons birthday and which be warned we had to book in advance. You can’t just to just turn up and expect to given a table as word as spread . We ordered a range of meals from a southern fried Parmo , which is really good to garlic chicken really nice to braised beef on the specials ,all was excellent. Top tip book a table before you go .

Liver was tough and kids noisy including one riding a scooter.

Foods good got a takeaway portion small for a large didn't receive extra garlic what paid for

Went hear expecting great things. And was slightly let down. I'd say worth ago if your a parmo lover but wouldn't say it was as good as everyone rave about.

One of the best parmos I’ve ever had! Absolutely outstanding!

Although the food was nice The service was atrocious We had to wait nearly an hour for our order which was suprising because there wasnt many peaple in When we pointed out that peaple where getting served before us even though they came in after us The staff became quite surly So if your a friend of the waiting staff you probably might served in turn But if not expect a long wait with daft excuses Shant be returning

To be fair, if you want decent pub grub then you could do a lot worse than here. Portion size is generous, and the quality isn't too bad.

Came to see if Merlins Parmo lived up to the hype. Got a Al Funghi Parmo (half) and we were very satisfied. Great taste, great size, great chips, garlic mayo and salad. Service was quick, staff were friendly, atmosphere was great and parking easy.
