Id a "The Mercer Kitchen".

Even when we walked into the place I knew this would be a poor experience. It started off by the waiter/cook saying that we could not sit in the places we liked, as they were for the regulars. We selected food from the menu and a couple of coffees, I selected a Kebab, my girlfriend selected a pulled pork panini. I received my Kebab really quickly, when my girlfriend received her panini it was burnt, we said to the waitress/cook we would not require the coffee's as we wanted them with our food. She said that she was unaware we wanted coffee. Whilst waiting for our food, we could hear the waiter/cook making small talk with a regular, we can appreciate the need to have a good relationship with customers, the waiter/cook should have completed the core part of his job, preparing and delivering our order. You would have thought that the coffee's would have been easy to make and deliver, if you pay attention to your tasks, food could be prepared to arrive together and unburnt, unless you chat with customers. e waiter/ So I had eaten my food before my girlfriend received her food. We simple got up, told them we would not pay for the coffee we did not receive or for the burnt panini. Normally we would expect an apology for poor food and service, we asked if we would get one, but no, the waiter/cook just said thank you, we asked again the waiter/cook just said thank you again. I would have expected better manners, organisation and communication, especially from a small business with lots of local competition.

We were looking for a place near our hotel for a reasonably priced breakfast, £26 for a buffet breakfast is hard to swallow. After reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor we went to find the Mercer Kitchen. Whilst the filling breakfast is very reasonably priced for central London, I didn't think it was not much better than many a greasy spoon. I've also met much more pleasant staff in much rougher caffs.

If you are looking for somewhere to have a decent breakfast then try here, all the ingredients were fresh and of good quality (The sausages are particularly good). I would recommend the Kings breafast which doubles up on everything, this should set yuo nicely up for the day. We will definately be back when i'm in that area of twon again.

Can't recommend this highly enough - such good food and at very reasonable prices. Extensive menu, great choice whether you want Breakfast, Lunch or just a coffee. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. This gem of a cafe is just around the corner from St Pauls.

On my way to another recommendation, I saw this place and it looked good. Excellent selection of food and it looks like its freshly made. Jacket potato and chilli with some salad good value (for London) at £4.50.

Looking for breakfast near St Pauls I came across Mercer Kitchen just off Carter Lane. At £4.60 the standard English came with a good meaty sausage, tasty bacon, baked beans, a couple of fresh fried eggs and toast made with real bread. The King's breakfast doubles up on the eggs, sausages, bacon and toast. A step up in quality from a breakfast cafe and reasonably priced for the quality of the ingredients. Freshly brewed coffee (£1.75) was good and a couple of those bumped up the bill. If you're looking for a blow-out breakfast then it is worth going for the King's breakfast at two pounds more. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere and not particularly busy at 8.30am when I visited (perhaps due to there being a several other local places serving breakfast). On the following day as I was in area again I met a colleague there for a working breakfast, about one hour later than before, and enjoyed the King's breakfast which set me up for the rest of the day.

Visited Wrights Cafe Pall Mall last weekend. The food was absolutely delicious! I also had a coffee and it was the best one i have had in the area….The prices are definitely on the cheaper side, especially for the area. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Definitely recommend to all!!!

Date of visit: 10th of February, 2025 Best Fish&Chips in London! The price is reasonable, especially after you see the size of the fish. I think I found a fine restaurant. It's the best fish & chips I've had in London. The portion size is large, so I think people who usually eat small portions could share it with three people (of course, you should ask politely if you can order it that way). I liked it even more because it was a quiet neighborhood and the interior of the restaurant had a calm atmosphere.

Stopped with a friend for a quick bite to eat and a pint. We both had the roast beef ciabatta and it was excellent.
