Delicious full English breakfast to start the day

We went twice to this typical English breakfast in London near Shoreditch. Frankly, having tested 3/4 different establishments for an English breakfast, this one is the best value for money: £12.50 for a full breakfast with coffee + bread, it's great. Despite the storefront which leaves something to be desired, the dishes are very good.

This place should be more famous, what an amazing breakfast! Everything arrived very quickly, the portions are generous and the price is affordable. Don't hesitate to visit.

Essendo di fronte al nostro hotel e avendo visto che facevano sia english breakfast sia porridge decidiamo di provarlo: il locale sembra quasi una “gastronomia”, con il bancone frigo a vetri pieno di materie prime per farcire panini, pezzi dolci e toast. Il porridge miele e banana veramente buono, molto cremoso. Il muffin inglese con uovo e salsiccia piccolino ma saziante. Consigliato!

Peter and his team of lovely ladies helped me at a time when I wasn't doing very well. They are doing a wonderful job with the restaurant, serving delicious food and even helping people that are in trouble (without commercial benefit). I can highly recommend this cafe and have received a delicious breakfast and outstanding hospitality here. I wished more businesses were run like this and that I can come back one day 🤗

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast this morning. A sophisticated start to the day that had me feeling like I should have my pinky out when I’m drinking my tea. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and just posh enough to make me question if I belong in a place this nice. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Peter, whoever you are, you’ve set the breakfast bar unreasonably high.

La última vez que visité este lugar fue un día oscuro para mí. Mi ex pareja y yo tuvimos una feroz pelea sobre sus opciones de menú y ese fue el final de nuestro tiempo juntos, pero, en cierto modo, fue una bendición. Tenía una serie de rasgos que en retrospectiva eran reales e inquietantes. Una vez, por ejemplo, se burló de la forma en que pelé un plátano. Para mí, una pequeña incisión simple con un cuchillo de cepillado debajo del tallo de la fruta permite un ‘lift back’ y pelado impecable y limpio. Es injusto, en mi opinión, caracterizar este método como “débil y complicado”. Para luego extender esta metáfora se dirigió a mi filosofía política y al apoyo reciente a Nigel Farage y su partido Reformista. Para mí, usar la frase “usted y sus amigos intolerantes” es simplemente odioso y pinta una imagen negativa de Nigel y su simple mensaje de que podemos recuperar esta isla de todos los ilegales. La verdad es que soy mejor persona sin tener que soportar esta invectiva de bullying y para celebrar esta gloriosa libertad era hora de tomar un tren hacia nuestra Capital y dirigirme a la purpurina metropolitana que es Aldgate. Frente a la estación hay una cafetería compacta pero próspera atendida por mujeres rubias de aspecto decidido (además de un caballero mayor de gafas en un jersey de esquí que maneja las tostadoras). El ambiente es muy ‘acertar la elección, somos mujeres ocupadas en un mundo ocupado’ y ¿quién era yo para dilly dally alrededor? Estridente y confiadamente puse en mi orden una ronda de brindis y mermelada... “Entrar o salir” fue la respuesta. Mi cabeza estaba girando hasta que me di cuenta de que era una pregunta sobre la comida, no una referencia a mis persuasiones de vida amorosa! ¡Fuera! Lo dije con orgullo. Es en momentos como este cuando Elton John te decía que todo parecía valer la pena. £ 3 salió de mi cuenta, se intercambió una sonrisa consciente y me fui al mundo. Mientras comía la (sabrosa) tostada se tomó un breve momento para digerir no solo el encantador desayuno, sino también cómo la vida puede cambiar para mejor. Hace un año una discusión feroz y molesta, y ahora un viaje en solitario a una ciudad capital y desayuno disfrutado como un orgulloso viajero soltero que orgullosamente apoya a Nigel F y sus valientes cohortes Clacton - ¡qué día fuera!

Absolutely fantastic! Peter and the staff are incredibly warm and that adds to the charm of this hole-in-the-wall right opposite the Aldgate station. I had the vegetarian full English breakfast and it was just perfect. I would recommend this place to anybody that’s looking for an authentic English breakfast experience ✨

This place had a ton of regulars in and out so it must be good, but we both ordered the Breakfast Bap and it was pretty bad. Very oily, unseasoned, and everything felt and tasted low quality. Would try something else next time. Staff was friendly though which was nice

Stopped to grab a quick bite. The ladies were very friendly. The breakfast certainly tasted different from breakfast in the states.

The very best place to grab a quick bite to eat! Very popular among the locals so get there early! Always my go-to for a Ham, Egg & Cheese toastie and a Latte for breakfast before going in to the office. Conveniently situated across the road from Aldgate Station. After research and take cab from Tower Hotel to Aldshot arrived hungry and full of expectation to be told 'cash only' who the feck does that, so disappointing!!

Me encantó encontrar (creo que no está en el menú ) que tenían pudín negro en la nevera para acompañar mi tocino, y bap de salchicha. Gran relación calidad-precio, personal amable, volveremos en diciembre para nuestra visita prenavideña a la ciudad.

Fantastic breakfast. Very fast and friendly service, extra requests are no problem, very good price-performance ratio. By the third breakfast they already knew our preferred coffee variant. Brought to you with a smile. You couldn't ask for more in the morning. Also a local hotspots. It's not just tourists who get their breakfast here, people also get their breakfast here on their way to work. Top shop!

Ate here every morning of our recent London visit. Unbeatable! Attentative, quick staff, delicious meals, brought quickly and very reasonably priced. The staff knew our preferences by our 2nd visit! We felt very welcomed.

What everyone says is true. Super busy and the staff works hard. Had a full English and the toast and coffee were excellent. Seems a funny thing but it is something I often judge a breakfast on. To me cruddy coffee and boring toast can kill a breakfast . Enjoy

Do you want a typical English cafe? Peter's Cafe. I think it is the most authentic thing I found that was not a chain and within the City of London... Well, the images are worth more than my explanations 🙄... a totally soulless place with a lot of tradition 🙈 They have a couple or three of tables on the street and the option of taking your order... If you want a typical English breakfast here you have it completely... and if you want to try the Porridge here they also prepare it... they are a kind of hot oatmeal porridge. .. they are not bad but I prefer the ones from home 😂... the coffee ☕️ very bad... one of the worst I have ever tried... burnt and super bitter, not even with two packets of sugar could it be drunk.

As a trained chef, I am quite picky about my food and often send it back if it's not to my liking. So Peter's Cafe was a refreshing change as there was nothing to not like. The menu was interesting and extensive, with good, friendly service and nicely presented food. I will definitely return.

This English breakfast was top-notch! Every detail, from the beans to the toast was perfection. The service was exceptional, with a warm greeting as soon as you walk in and knowledgeable staff. Toast slathered in real butter and tea arrived promptly. Plus, we were in and out in under 35 minutes, no waiting around for lunchtime! 👌🏾Most importantly the plate was the right size for the breakfast. 🍳

A typical English breakfast. You can eat inside, outside or take away. We ordered a typical full English breakfast and were full for the whole day. Perfectly prepared eggs and sausages. Toasted bread, but usually not toast but real bread or roll. Cool!

Called in the morning after London marathon. Food was good, lots of choice on the menu. I would have given 5* but the service we received from a rude , miserable lady was unacceptable. We were waiting for our friends to join us. She asked if we wanted to order. I explained we were waiting for friends, they will be here shortly. Five minutes later our friends arrived. She came straight to table first , our friends had only just sat down. We asked for 5 more minutes please. When we asked if we could order please, she turned to one of her colleagues and said “FINALLY “. I found her rude and miserable, she never cracked a smile. The only tip I would leave is to smile , look like you enjoy your job and to be kinder to your customers :)

We had breakfast here every morning during our stay and we can highly recommend this cafe. The food is authentic, the service is super nice and we would come back at any time. There are also vegetarian options and croissants and salad if you want. And the price is absolutely great

Even more brilliant than my last visit! This place was so fabulous when I visited in 2015, I didn’t forget it. Back then it was the first day for me at a new company and I’m still there now, the staff were so kind to me when they had no idea I was in need of a cup of kindness with my coffee and their smiles. I remember telling my husband about how nice this place was and the food looked amazing, forward on almost a decade and I’ve got two little girls with my own and I found myself in front of Peter’s café. There was no need to even hesitate, my children and my husband looked through the window and said gosh this place looks fantastic – I said yeah this is the place I told you about years ago on my first day at my current company. We were not disappointed! Me my husband and my six-year-old had a full breakfast it was incredible and our three-year-old had bread and butter big huge chunks of bread smothered in delicious butter. Peter and his staff were absolute diamonds once again, so welcoming and hospitable. He was so kind as was everybody else. My husband commented on how welcoming Peter was to me. Just the same as he had been all those years ago. At the end of our meal, my husband got up to pay and one of the staff members run over and gave each of my daughters a bag of Maltesers each. It was very unexpected and so kind. It made their day. I told Peter and his staff at that point about how much I appreciated their hospitality and kindness on my first day at work all those years ago as I was so nervous and remain working for the same company now and I’m convinced it was because they helped, my nerves and set me up straight for the day. They genuinely seemed pleased that I had come back. I’m absolutely delighted to see that this is a travellers choice award place. I can completely see why. My company have actually moved to an office much closer to old gate, and I have promised Peter and his team that when I’m next back in the London office, I’ll make a point of coming to eat with them again. brilliant place best in London! Did the job. The side salad worked well with the jacket potato and overall it was a tasty dish. The price was approximately £8 which is good value for central London.

Real veggie gem! Traveling from out of country, I was in search of a great English breakfast and also was on the constant search for a place that had a vegetarian English breakfast option for my wife. After we found another local location by tower bridge wasn't open for the day, my wife suggested this place. As we sat down, we were pleasantly surprised at all the options including VEGETARIAN English breakfast. Great service, quick and spot on delicious, very reasonable price, great location, close to Aldgate station. Paninis, cappuccinos, hot chocolates, fresh oj are also very good! 2nd day we went back and we all had VEGETARIAN English breakfasts (yes it was that good), family was happily fed again and just loving the cooking and service. It is a gem, for any vegetarians, you can't go wrong here!

This place was just what we were looking for .... not fancy, good prices, and a place where the locals eat a full English Breakfast! They served us very fast and the food was excellent. The location was right across the street from the Aldgate tube stop. We walked there from the 120 Garden and before that from our flat near the Tower of London.
