After research and take cab from Tower Hotel to Aldshot arrived hungry and full of expectation to be told 'cash only' who the feck does that, so disappointing!!

Needed eggs before I started my day first time back in London after months and they had it scrambled to perfection and served with a smile. I haven't enjoyed non-homemade eggs in the longest while! Thanks for the lovely meal. And you open at 6am! Absolute dedication. All the best.

Great breakfast (the real English one) where the staff really care about the customer's satisfaction. And that happened here just fine. I was excited and satisfied.

Fantastic breakfast. Very fast and friendly service, extra requests are no problem, very good price-performance ratio. By the third breakfast they already knew our preferred coffee variant. Brought to you with a smile. You couldn't ask for more in the morning. Also a local hotspots. It's not just tourists who get their breakfast here, people also get their breakfast here on their way to work. Top shop!

Ate here every morning of our recent London visit. Unbeatable! Attentative, quick staff, delicious meals, brought quickly and very reasonably priced. The staff knew our preferences by our 2nd visit! We felt very welcomed.

What everyone says is true. Super busy and the staff works hard. Had a full English and the toast and coffee were excellent. Seems a funny thing but it is something I often judge a breakfast on. To me cruddy coffee and boring toast can kill a breakfast . Enjoy

Do you want a typical English cafe? Peter's Cafe. I think it is the most authentic thing I found that was not a chain and within the City of London... Well, the images are worth more than my explanations 🙄... a totally soulless place with a lot of tradition 🙈 They have a couple or three of tables on the street and the option of taking your order... If you want a typical English breakfast here you have it completely... and if you want to try the Porridge here they also prepare it... they are a kind of hot oatmeal porridge. .. they are not bad but I prefer the ones from home 😂... the coffee ☕️ very bad... one of the worst I have ever tried... burnt and super bitter, not even with two packets of sugar could it be drunk.

Very good breakfast. Extra requests will be accommodated. We felt comfortable there. Price-performance is absolutely perfect. The English breakfast was very filling and kept us full for a long time.

As a trained chef, I am quite picky about my food and often send it back if it's not to my liking. So Peter's Cafe was a refreshing change as there was nothing to not like. The menu was interesting and extensive, with good, friendly service and nicely presented food. I will definitely return.

This English breakfast was top-notch! Every detail, from the beans to the toast was perfection. The service was exceptional, with a warm greeting as soon as you walk in and knowledgeable staff. Toast slathered in real butter and tea arrived promptly. Plus, we were in and out in under 35 minutes, no waiting around for lunchtime! 👌🏾Most importantly the plate was the right size for the breakfast. 🍳

It's a big no from me. The quality of the sausage is the lowest I've ever encountered. I wouldn't eat it. The waitress complains. It's an all round no from me

As I work in a hotel, Peter's Cafe is where I recommended to my guests to go if they don't want to eat at the restaurant. Obviously I will be going there again. 10/10

A typical English breakfast. You can eat inside, outside or take away. We ordered a typical full English breakfast and were full for the whole day. Perfectly prepared eggs and sausages. Toasted bread, but usually not toast but real bread or roll. Cool!

Called in the morning after London marathon. Food was good, lots of choice on the menu. I would have given 5* but the service we received from a rude , miserable lady was unacceptable. We were waiting for our friends to join us. She asked if we wanted to order. I explained we were waiting for friends, they will be here shortly. Five minutes later our friends arrived. She came straight to table first , our friends had only just sat down. We asked for 5 more minutes please. When we asked if we could order please, she turned to one of her colleagues and said “FINALLY “. I found her rude and miserable, she never cracked a smile. The only tip I would leave is to smile , look like you enjoy your job and to be kinder to your customers :)

We had breakfast here every morning during our stay and we can highly recommend this cafe. The food is authentic, the service is super nice and we would come back at any time. There are also vegetarian options and croissants and salad if you want. And the price is absolutely great

Even more brilliant than my last visit! This place was so fabulous when I visited in 2015, I didn’t forget it. Back then it was the first day for me at a new company and I’m still there now, the staff were so kind to me when they had no idea I was in need of a cup of kindness with my coffee and their smiles. I remember telling my husband about how nice this place was and the food looked amazing, forward on almost a decade and I’ve got two little girls with my own and I found myself in front of Peter’s café. There was no need to even hesitate, my children and my husband looked through the window and said gosh this place looks fantastic – I said yeah this is the place I told you about years ago on my first day at my current company. We were not disappointed! Me my husband and my six-year-old had a full breakfast it was incredible and our three-year-old had bread and butter big huge chunks of bread smothered in delicious butter. Peter and his staff were absolute diamonds once again, so welcoming and hospitable. He was so kind as was everybody else. My husband commented on how welcoming Peter was to me. Just the same as he had been all those years ago. At the end of our meal, my husband got up to pay and one of the staff members run over and gave each of my daughters a bag of Maltesers each. It was very unexpected and so kind. It made their day. I told Peter and his staff at that point about how much I appreciated their hospitality and kindness on my first day at work all those years ago as I was so nervous and remain working for the same company now and I’m convinced it was because they helped, my nerves and set me up straight for the day. They genuinely seemed pleased that I had come back. I’m absolutely delighted to see that this is a travellers choice award place. I can completely see why. My company have actually moved to an office much closer to old gate, and I have promised Peter and his team that when I’m next back in the London office, I’ll make a point of coming to eat with them again. brilliant place best in London! Great service, super nice people and amazing food! They let us “customise” our breakfast and change anything we wanted. Great for an amazing English Breakfast!

Did the job. The side salad worked well with the jacket potato and overall it was a tasty dish. The price was approximately £8 which is good value for central London.

Real veggie gem! Traveling from out of country, I was in search of a great English breakfast and also was on the constant search for a place that had a vegetarian English breakfast option for my wife. After we found another local location by tower bridge wasn't open for the day, my wife suggested this place. As we sat down, we were pleasantly surprised at all the options including VEGETARIAN English breakfast. Great service, quick and spot on delicious, very reasonable price, great location, close to Aldgate station. Paninis, cappuccinos, hot chocolates, fresh oj are also very good! 2nd day we went back and we all had VEGETARIAN English breakfasts (yes it was that good), family was happily fed again and just loving the cooking and service. It is a gem, for any vegetarians, you can't go wrong here!

This place was just what we were looking for .... not fancy, good prices, and a place where the locals eat a full English Breakfast! They served us very fast and the food was excellent. The location was right across the street from the Aldgate tube stop. We walked there from the 120 Garden and before that from our flat near the Tower of London.

I'm not sure of the economics of how a traditional greasy spoon like this survives off Liverpool Street in central London anymore. Having said that, when I had breakfast there at about nine in the morning it was just as busy as any of the competing Neros or Costas 100 yards away and the atmosphere of the traditional kaff was much more preferable. As everyone else in London, there was a good mix of locals, tourists, and business types, and the busy sounding kitchen and attentive waitresses that couldn't do enough for you obviously makes this a popular destination. Would recommend to anyone who's 15 minutes early to a meeting or just fancies something a little bit different to the usual commercial cappuccino.

Waited for 20mins, and I asked the staff twice to help us order, but she just kept saying sit down and wait, turns out sitting next to us and helping the other customers who visited the cafe later than us to order, ignoring us ,so we left.

1st rate cafe, no glitz, no glamour. Just a top class traditional establishment that serves very good dishes. Breakfast is the main that most people attend for. The full English is a giant of a meal and will keep you going from Dawn till dusk, trust me it does for most, but, there is always the exception. There is a very friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome at Peters cafe and Peter and his staff consistently keep turning the dishes out. So if it’s busy, consider waiting, it’s worth it.

Pequeño bar para tomar una buen café con un desayuno delicioso. Las porciones son muy grandes (incluso para compartir) y los productos son muy frescos. El servicio y el ambiente dentro del bar es excelente. Tienen diferentes tipos de leche, leche vegetal incluso! Recomiendo tostadas con huevos y aguacate, así como un buen café con leche.

Food was good, I was a bit skeptical but they actually made justice to the english breakfast. The service was fast and efficient. The place is small but it had a good atmosphere, you could feel that people coming to eat over there were recurring customers. In overall I had a good experience.

When you need a full english or a bacon roll, they do exactly that. Variations on the above and vegetarian options. Service is fast and the staff are really friendly and focused. The station is just on the other side of the road, so it's a perfect commute stop off, too.

went to peters cafe for the past two mornings for breakfast. the food was nice but i thought that some of the staff looked miserable. there was an older woman behind the till bossing this young brunette girl about in the rudest way. i understand everyone has a job to do but there’s way to say things. when we went the second day, the young girl was on again and a different woman with blonde hair told her to stop collecting the plates off the table and to go and help her. that same blonde lady swore under her breath when asking that girl to do something. she also sat with on a table with i assume, her partner, when the cafe was busy. that poor young girl was rushed off her feet and it seemed like other staff were giving all instruction to her whilst everyone else was behind the till. personally i think staff need to learn how to talk to people in their team better.

Fantastic breakfast as always - bacon sandwich with the bacon cooked to order, nice fresh white thick bread. Not always cheap ie £4.75 for the sandwich but it's good and a nice treat every so often.

Peter's has become our regular breakfast spot when visiting London. The staff are very friendly, the service is fast and the food/coffee are great (awesome crusty toast), we will definitely return. The location is very convenient for anyone staying near Aldgate or Aldgate East Underground Stations.

Like other reviewers we stayed at the nearby Hilton and came here for breakfast. For those who love a traditional British breakfast this was excellent. Great service - friendly and quick, hot food clearly cooked to order and not pulled out of a hot plate. Unbelievably cheap price with tea or coffee included with the set meals. And great size mugs! Highly reccomended.

Sausage sandwich and cup of tea. Really quick (was in a rush) and very good quality. Bread was soft as and a chewy crust. Glad we chanced it to support an independent instead of pret’s. Thank you!

Had a lovely hot chocolate here served by friendly staff while waiting for a friend. Please visit this lovely local coffee shop and not the black sheep coffee or pret which are very close by. Cherry on top of the cake was that a homeless man came in to order a tea and a sandwich and they kindly offered it to him for free (even when I offered to pay). Please support this wonderful business. I know I will if I find myself back at Aldgate.

This is definitely worth a visit. It’s a proper cafe and not one of these gentrified coffee shops or chains. The food is good. I normally pop in for lunch and that’s always excellent. The full English breakfast I had was fine but I’ve had better. I would still order it again though. The only thing I think could be improved is some more charm with the service.

One of the few original (non-chain) restaurants near Aldgate and Aldgate East stations. Outstanding food and service with friendly staff. This place makes you feel at home and provides super value for the money. Reasonable prices.

It’s a greasy spoon!…. Which is sometimes everything you need on an autumnal Sunday morning. Reasonable prices for London, good service… British people prefer to butter their toast themselves mind you.

What a fantastic café. We were staying in the Travelodge round the corner and had breakfast here twice. Great service, great food. Proper crusty bread used for toast and tea/coffee included in the full English. Happy to accommodate changes and very welcoming.

I ate twice at Peter’s Cafe while staying at the Hilton. Breakfast was good and service was fast. For £12 I had a full English breakfast and coffee. Can’t beat that. They have a few (6 or so) tables inside and 2-3 tables outside..

The owner (Peter) was extremely friendly, as were all the staff. We had some egg with bacon/sausage sandwiches comprised of the freshest bread. We discovered that all the ingredients: eggs, bread, and bacon are delivered each morning. What a gem!
