The Med Kitchen in Croydon

This is my favourite restaurant. The food is out of this World, no matter what you order. The menu is full of delicious, fresh, healthy choices. The waiters greet you like a long lost friend and you are made to feel very welcome. Even the free olives are delicious!!

Good food , brilliant flavour. And kind staff , would recommend . Had the mixed grill .

Atmosphere really depends on the time of day. I have tried three different times just to see if the food would come out at the same high standards. Service has been 10/10 so far. Talking from someone who extremely fussy and a fully qualified chef. Clean, very friendly and on point!! (Ali ) and the rest of the MED staff have managed to look after myself, friends and family this week celebrating birthdays. Food cooked to perfection . There was no need to add extra seasoning due to the different flavours….thank you @MED

The most relaxed meal I've had! Didn't feel rushed (quiet Monday lunctime) and it was really pleasant; Staff were also relaxed and friendly. Lentil soup was delicious!

WOW WOW WOW These guys know there way around flavours, everything i ordered tickled my stomach in a very pleasant way, I ordered sword fish with chips and salad which was amazing 👏 my friend ordered the chicken which was wry succulent, the olive 🫒 were the best ever, mushrooms were the best ever, customer service was very good. Thank you for the beautiful experience guys.

Had a lovely evening with my sisters. We were warmly welcomed and our server, Ali, was friendly and attentive. The food was hot and delicious (the choice amazing) and the ambience buzzing!. Already looking forward to a return visit!! Highly recommend !!

This restaurant is consistently outstanding in the execution of its food and I know that if I want a good meal, then coming here will always ensure this. I recently came here with my friend and tried their new garlic butter prawn dish which was beautiful - my new favourite. My friend always enjoys her food here and loved her prawn and salmon kebab skewers. The portions are ample here - so much so that I’ve yet to try their desserts….hopefully one day.. I also noticed that they’ve added a few new dishes to their menu and it made a nice change. I will definitely come back.

A lovely meal at The Med Kitchen - really friendly and kind family who made us feel very welcome 🥰 The restaurant is elegantly and festively decorated at the moment and there were a lot of families dining, great atmosphere. The menu is varied and lots of starters, chargrilled dishes and specials. For starters we had: the Whitebait (deliciously fried) and the baked Aubergine with veg, so soft and tasty. For mains, 🍲 the Chicken Guvec (Turkish casserole) was divine! The chicken was so tender, very gooey too - served with Bulgur wheat as our chosen side. We also loved the Mixed Kofte (minced lamb / minced chicken skewers) 🍢, generous portions and with chunky chips. The food is of excellent quality and very fresh, very flavoursome. Great value for money and overall, a great choice to come with family and friends!

As a south london turkish cockney geezer...I know my turkish restaurants....this for me is up there...top food...top service....if I could give it 6/5 I would.....absolutely best restaurant in the manor.

We went for a birthday meal for our 10 year old son. I had referenced this reason for the visit when I booked online. After the main course they brought out some chocolate cake (having asked us discreetly about allergies shortly before) with a candle as a surprise while everyone sang happy birthday, The food was absolutely delicious, the ambience lovely and the service outstanding. This place is a “must visit” if you are in the area.

What a wonderful spot! Family run and it shows, we visited with our 2 daughters aged 3 and 1, we were welcomed as soon as we came through the door, high chairs available, a great kids menu too. The food and drink is so so good, couldn’t recommend more! X

Very impressed with our meal tonight. We had so much food, we had to take some home. Great value for the quantity and quality of food, varied menu and cocktails were amazing. They did a birthday song for our son. Fantastic service. Highly recommend, we will definitely be going back!

This place is always busy and you need to book otherwise you’ll be disappointed. It’s good quality food overall but the speed of how they operate kinda ruins the experience of dinner here , it always seems to be ‘eat, drink and get out quickly’. I’ve found that over past 3-4 years the quality has not been that consistent which is annoying but that is the main gripe I would say I have.

Been wanting to visit here for a while as having driven past a few times looks well presented and inviting, plus friends had said it was nice. Our opinion of the service was very good but unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations for us. The Sucuk sausage starter was quite bland, although the Chicken Liver was more tasty. Both our mains were quite disappointing, my Lamb Kleftico dish was not great, the lamb was quite fatty and the sauce watery with not very much flavour at all I'm sorry to say. My partners Chicken Beyti was drenched to being soggy with quite bland yoghurt and the Bulgar Wheat tasted stale. I'm afraid I wouldn’t recommend it here. I'd spend my eating out time and money elsewhere☹️☹️

An all round wonderful experience! Visited on a Saturday night - service was great, very friendly waiters who are obviously very passionate in what they do! As starter I had the Halloumi - very nicely presented and tasted brilliant. Main was the Chicken Sheesh - blown away with the smoked flavour, generous portion sizes and just couldn’t get enough. Tasted the profiteroles and Baklava - both light yet tasted phenomenal! Washed down with a couple of the (fish bowl sized) cocktails! Blown away with this little place, will definitely be frequenting this place again

Second visit to this lovely restaurant, this time for a birthday meal. The restaurant is gorgeous with a good atmosphere, service is excellent, menu choice and food is amazing. Took a cake and balloons which was bought out for dessert accompanied by happy birthday music really lovely evening 👌🏻🍹 Highly recommend for a date, dinner or lunch with family or friends.

we went today for the first time we had good service and lovely food will be going again soon very good value. We have been back a few times now, and we have always had good service from whoever is working their so I can say it wasn't a one-off

Great atmosphere, service and food.

Stopped for an impromptu Saturday lunch after dining here on the lunch menu during the week previously. Great restaurant. Inside and outside seating. Great service. Lots of choice and the meals were a great quality, good size at a reasonable price. We had whitebait, mixed grill and chicken thigh kebab. All delicious. Definitely will be back.

Went to the restaurant on a recommendation of a friend. It was better than what he described. Thanks guys @ The Med Kitchen for an amazing evening. We loved not only the food but also the smiling service of all the staff. Last but not the least was the best baklava I had outside Turkey. Good job guys. Keep it up. We will be back very soon.

First time at the Med and enjoyed very much! Good ambiance, nicely decorated, good food selection on the menu, and food was cooked fresh to perfection and the portion sizes were generous. The music seemed to get louder after 10.00, I'm not sure if that is normal (whether there is dancing later or something I'm not sure?) But as the restaurant is already a little echoey due to lack of soft furnishings (not a criticism) I was already struggling to hear others at my table, so felt it was definitely time to leave! All on one level so should be fine for wheelchair users. Open kitchen so nice to see food being cooked. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Waiters are really nice, lots of kids options with large portions, incredible fish and food, chef is really toleratable for gluten free changes

We were here for dinner. The service without problems beautifully it smelled of coal the food itself also smelled beautifully I recommend the lamb ribs. The food was delicious. They sing happy birthday when it's someone's birthday and you announce it beforehand which makes it a bit nicer atmosphere.

Previously been here for lunch. Returned last night for dinner. Food was amazing. Could not fault service at all.

I have been here a few times and the food is just soooo good. They are always welcoming to me and my friends and my family with or without a booking. Always accommodating. The decor is warm and seating adequate. Some nights it is packed in there so try and book beforehand. Their cocktails are perfect and the lamb ribs, lamb stew, salads, bulgar rice always taste fresh and I cant fault it at all. I travel from Kent once a month to eat with a friend here and rate this restaurant highly. In fact im going today. I have never witnessed rude or poor, below par service. Some people wish to complain for no reason. I had no complaints.

Have visited twice in last month. A Saturday night at 8.15pm and a Wednesday evening at 6pm. All I can say is great food (I had the steak) great service and great atmosphere. Great for friends, families or couples. Will definitely be going again.

I chose this restaurant because of its great reviews and decided to try it out. It exceeded my expectations. Food was most delicious. The service was the quickest ever, staff were very nice and quick to attend. Will definitely return. 5 start everything.

Family friendly was served swiftly and was given extra salad for free and the kids enjoyed the Turkish delights and the yummy chocolate and ice cream pudding at the end.

We went during the week at lunch time so it was not busy. Well we had a late family lunch. The food looked and tasted fresh we did not take pictures of it because we were too busy eating. The service was excellent too. The desert was gorgeous (view picture). The children enjoyed the Turkish delights. We had a great family experience and my son aged 7 already wants to go back.

Med Kitchen is always busy with a great atmosphere which is a testament to how amazing this place is. Amazing cooks with very reasonable prices. We try and go once a week an alternate between dinner and lunch. Great service too

Excellent food. Very tasty. But very rushed. I understand we had a 2 hour time limit on the table. But we kept getting reminded of it and then towards the end they started taking away our food even if we hadn’t finished. They said they had other people coming after us but the whole place was empty. I didn’t see any other table getting rushed.

Generous portions, great taste & value for money. The kebaps and sweet potato fries were delicious. Service was good too. Must recommended if based in South London. I’ll definitely go there again.

Very good value lunch menu. Food and service of a high standard. Quite busy for a Tuesday lunchtime, which is usually a sign of a good restaurant. I would definately return as house wine is not too expensive either.

We took my Mother for lunch to celebrate her 89th birthday, The service was friendly and excellent. The food was brilliant. We all had the two course lunch menu which is good value. We shared our five starters and then had a mixture of chicken. lamb and sea bass. Everyone loved their food. It is a great discovery as it is very close to where my mother lives. Will definitely be returning.

Went in for a quick lunch. Delicious Chicken Shish. Lovely fresh salad with a beautiful dressing. The chicken was very well cooked. Seasoned well and moist inside. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Loved the complimentary turkish delight jellies which came with the bill! Will be returning!

Our 2nd visit to the Med Kitchen. The food, the service is unbelievably fantastic. My wife and I went for the same dish of Med Chicken and as usual ok had to leave some because of the amount served ( not complaining) so as to leave room for the lovely house red then my lemon 🍋 sorbet all in all a fabulous night to spend our 55th anniversary. 5 star all the way from entry to exit.

Had a wonderful meal celebrating Mother’s Day at the med kitchen. We were well looked after by all the staff. The food was terrific and the service was great too. Can’t wait to come back.

Have been dining here for years with our two boys (under 12) Always amazing service and food. Large portions, fresh and tasty! Anything we don’t eat we take home to enjoy the next day. I've been here a few times now and am highly impressed with the food and service. A bit pricy but well worth it.

I popped in here with my mum and brother for lunch last week. We ordered between us some tzatziki, feta triangle pastries to start and then lamb ribs, chicken shish and I ordered the prawn starter as a main. The food was lovely but I have to say that my prawns were bordering on a bit too salty than normal. They were still fine to eat but the sauce was just a tad too seasoned to how they have been served in the past. I would definitely come back however, as their food is great.

What can I say that I haven't already about this delightful restaurant. Everything is so nice and tonight they even had a violinist playing. Just a thourghly lovely place to eat and relax the evening away.
