Lovely, cozy pub, friendly welcome, dog friendly, small seating area outside. No food served, but don't let put you off if all you want is a drink anyway. It's quaint and unique 🍻😊.

Well this, to my mind, is what that great tradition of ‘English Pub’ is all about. I stumbled in, yesterday afternoon, a somewhat lost and lonely soul ; the roadworks were blocking my way home and I had 30 mins before school pick-up. I needed warmth, sustenance, and some good cheer - and I was curious... Since migrating to a Ashurst Wood from London two years ago I hadn’t dared venture inside; it always seemed so packed and surely I’d be hacked to pieces - the ‘outsider’ and a lone woman at that. Though I’ve been doing it for thirty years, I’m not a girl who easily walks into a pub alone. Surely they’d ridicule me for my request ; not beer but a nice cup of sugary tea please. But; What a pleasing scene greeted me in this cosy one room pub.. two standing men at the bar with a dog and a very cheerful lady who gave me ‘tea on the house’.. So I highly recommend this little gem - I left in a much better mood. Thankyou Maypole for the tea and kindness x

Tom’s is a great Cuckfield coffee shop serving high quality drinks, snacks and light meals. We went early on a Sunday (around 9:45am) and had no problems getting seats but it gets VERY crowded later due to popularity. Coffee is first rate, mocha is delicious. We had pastries and a sausage sandwich. The almond croissant is legendary and the cinnamon rolls baked and iced on site. Delicious! Price is reasonable, service quick, but obviously will slow as it gets very busy. It’s dog friendly inside, and there’s a bit of outside seating if weather is good enough. Overall, highly recommended.
