Fab birthday lunch perfect for my sushi and ramen loving daughter. Everything was delicious.

Recently stayed at the Limes in one of the rooms at the property. Great location and good room. We were attending a local event, so did not dine in the restaurant. Would recommend the accommodation. Staff were extremely helpful. Including returning an item by post that was accidently left in the room. Much appreciated. Would certainly recommend the Limes.

Fabulous sushi lunch… I’ll definitely return

Every time we order a takeaway or have a meal in the restaurant it gets better and better. Food is simply amazing. The best sushi we've had in a long time. Every dish is so fresh with the best ingredients used. The fish is stunning. A great wine selection. Thank you for a lovely lunch. We can't wait to come back.

Great meal last night. One of the best I've had out of SE Asia. Just a shame they put a 12.5% service charge on the bill. Would have tipped on my own accord and given 5/5 but I hate it when eateries do this. Soured a great experience.

Excellent small Thai food restaurant with great sushi options for lunch

Great thia and Japanese. Amazing taste the ramen is great also the thia seabass Portions are good. Great spicing Price is reasonable for quality. Plenty of worse places for same price or more.

Not too many places in Lindfield serving breakfast but this is the best.

Great meal and fantastic service

Ordered a take away direct from the website, expected a fantastic Thai curry but was massively disappointed. All I received was an email over an hour after ordering advising they had cancelled the order. This is despite confirmation of the order when placed. Phoned the restaurant and was basically told that the way it is, we have customers in the restaurant and you don’t matter! My advice is, don’t order takeaways from here as they don’t value your custom.

Absolutely delicious food. We went for my husband's birthday and it was one of the best meals we had lately. Plenty of vegan options. Good service and nice chill atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.

Delicious meal, great friendly service

A charming little restaurant in Lindfield, delicious food which is cooked to order and very knowledgeable staff who are really helpful. Quite cramped but a good atmosphere and well worth a visit.

This was my first time trying breakfast at Limes. There was a great range of choices, at competitive prices and great service. I've booked in again with a group of friends and I can't wait!

Very friendly and patient staff but this was not authentic Japanese food and there was only a small choice of dishes to choose from. What I had was okay (nicely cooked pork belly and noodles in a broth) but it was a Thai version of a Japanese dish. At least I was told the beer was Asahi. I've been to the Limes before for brunch - English food - which was very good. Maybe the clientele think it is somehow exotic to have such a restaurant in the village but, really, Japanese it isn't. If the chef is Thai (as I understand), then why not cook Thai food (or is the competition from the Stand-Up Inn too close for comfort?)

AMAZING meal at Limes this evening, so good we didn't have dessert as wanted to saviour the main course!! Can't fault it, great flavours, great quality food. Compliments to the chef and the lovely staff.

OMG, just had the BEST main meal of my life. I thought I peaked at the starter, but things got even better with the lamb main. I didn’t want it to end. So so so lovely.

We always like to support local and limes is a continuing passion for us! Lunch or evening meals, but tonight was amazing. Delivered as requested on the delivery app, food was so fresh, tasty and hot! The level of spice and flavour is amazing. Thanks for a lovely evening meal!

Just had the most amazing brunch at Limes. Menu incredible, service fantastic, food amazing. Thoroughly recommend for this or lunch/dinner when their Thai offering is also superb. So lucky to have this restaurant just a few minutes from where I live.

We’ve previously enjoyed dine-in evening meal, takeaway, and today, breakfast. Service has always been prompt and courteous. The food is exceptionally fresh and packed with flavour. The breakfast menu is varied with lots of delicious options, I would love to see some Thai breakfast items - I loved bowls of steaming Jok in Bangkok and a Thai breakfast is something special. Great value breakfast, dinner and takeaway!

This was my 2nd time at Limes as the first was great. It was also my Mum's birthday. This experience wasn't like the first. The gentleman serving us was clearly having a bad day and seemed 'annoyed' (same gentleman as our first visit). My partner ordered his drink, it was wrong. The wine came before the glasses... And I asked for more water to which I had to ask for 3 times before it came. We also had a question about a dish and the girl said she'd get her colleague to come and explain as she didn't know (which is absolutely fine), he never did. When he came to take the order I said we have a question we did ask and have been waiting for a while and this didn't go down well. I had the sticky pork, which was very fatty. I fed this back and he said he gets lots of complaints re this 'but its pork belly.' To which I wondered why he didn't tell me it was fatty when ordering it? I'm aware pork belly is fatty, yet I am also aware the fat can be rendered so that it can still he edible. The fat on my pork was not even cooked / like jelly. My partner placed his order to which it was suggested he have the lamb (special) instead. This came without the nuts or crispy onions on top. In short the food was OK but not like our first visit, the firt time it was gorgeous. Although I note they 'pack the dishes out' with what looks like the main component but it's not so really you're not getting value for money / it's over priced. I had the £12 scallops to start, granted there were 4 when usually there's 3 (in other restaurants) but they were tiny and lacked seasoning. All the food needed some salt but there was none on the table. The service was not OK and there really is a need for training!

I love this place. Really inventive high quality Thai inspired menus served with the class of a proper restaurant. A rare find.

The food was absolutely delicious! We usually get a takeaway from here, but loved trying the extensive menu that's available when dining in. The service was impeccable without being too intrusive and the restaurant had a lovely cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The new best Thai offering around. Pad Thai stands head and shoulders over anything else available in the area. Larb Moo an absolute favourite. Great spot for an English breakfast too; if you’re not still full from the Thai the night before.

Lovely fresh food, big portions with refined presentation and very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere on Lindfield high street. Would definitely come back soon!

The mango pannacotta is to die for

Popped in for lunch ,service was great and although small the restaurant felt welcoming. The food was nice with quite a slant to Japanese although we were told the menu becomes more Thai based on an evening. We paid £50 with tip for 2 courses and drink each, which I didn't think was too bad. We intend to return,to try the evening menu.

Restaurant staff are a delight! The room was cozy, I had a good night sleep. The breakfast bits were adorable and topped up all weekend and everything was very clean

Good food and very attentive staff

Whilst the staff are friendly I found the service to be a bit slow. But beyond this what really let this place down was the lack of flavour in the food. Very much lacking in depth. Things such as fish sauce and sugar which are very much staples in Thai food were used incredibly sparingly.

I came here quite some time ago, when it was a general restaurant. This was my first visit to the new Thai format. Booking was easy and friendly. A nice change to the new fad of automated booking systems. Service was good (greeted by name as the guy remembered us from calling to book - these little touches of humanity do make a difference). Throughout, the service was good without being intrusive. 10% service fee was added automatically. I'd have probably paid more if it wasn't added. Let's cut to the chase. The food was AWESOME. Nicely presented, starting with a really really tasty free appetiser. The starters and mains got better. I was struck by the different flavours coming through. Perfectly balanced and really varied. Each mouthful was a pleasure. I felt compelled to use this analogy. Imagine listening to your favourite song on a mono FM radio or through cheap ear buds. It's ok, you like it. It satisfies your hunger for music. THEN, imagine instead you listened through a hi quality sound system in high definition audio. It becomes an experience to savour. The Limes is the food equivalent of hi def music. Why not 5 stars? I guess for me simply the environment is ok, not exceptional. Nothing wrong with it, there's maybe not much they can do with the layout (it's a converted house). Better they focus on food quality than ambience. The price was on the high side of average. Over £30pp for starter, main, a beer. Well worth it for the food quality. You must go here.

Taking the usual love and charm that you might expect from a Thai meal out and grounding it firmly in a very British setting. Great blend of friendly staff, excellent food and a few finishing touches to lift it out of the ordinary. Quality experience, for any occasion.

Interesting response, when I phoned to order a take away you said that the vouchers were only valid to eat in and the two businesses are separate and I could not use for takeaway so therefore we’re useless. You may well have extended your vouchers by however long you were closed but was told you wouldn’t be extending them over the phone, a very disappointing response blaming me for a misunderstanding when I misunderstood nothing that you had told me over the phone, except now changing your position after a review had been changed. It is irrelevant what you are now offering the gift that I was given was not supposed to be all this hassle and if you are willing to treat your customers like this I can only imagine how you treat the food. Sadly I have had to change my review from 5 stars to 1, a friend had given us a voucher brought from the limes in September, they had thought we would be able to have a takeaway with it. But upon trying to use the voucher the limes has said there not redeemable on takeaways and only on sit down meals but the voucher is only valid for 6 months and they don’t intend on offering eat in meals in that time so the voucher is worthless! But was sold knowing this is the case, amazing behaviour basically fraud! I will be seeking advice from trading standards, I will never be eating anything from here again and will make sure to tell many locals to avoid this fraudulent business.

UNBELIEVABLE FOOD, we had a Thai red curry and a Panko Chicken Katsu Curry at the weekend and the food was just amazing, great quality, couldn't praise it enough. Thank you Limes!

Had an outstanding takeaway from here yesterday. It arrived quickly and although it is a bit pricey the food is exepional and far superior to other thai places I been to which have been more street food quality. I'm looking forward to ordering again from here!

Always a great meal here either eat in or takeaway, staff are friendly and helpful. One of the few places I've eaten during eat out to help out where when the bill came I though "I'd happily pay full price for this". Sushi was delicious, avo fries are a hidden gem and both ramen options were fresh with super clean flavours. Their takeaway option is also great, beef masaman is a personal favourite.

First takeaway was excellent. Good food and delivered on time. Decided as it was so good to have another takeaway a few weeks later. Food was poor. Beef Massaman was like a beef stew with gravy, nothing like the first one we had. Chicken red curry was average at best, predominantly aubergine with three pieces of chicken. We were so disappointed I emailed Limes just to let them know but it appears they couldn't be bothered to respond. Won't be using again. Shame.

Extraordinary to find Thai food of this quality and authenticity away from a major city. The food we ordered (which was delivered to our front door bang on time) was sensational: vibrant, fresh, singing with flavour and clearly made with both skill and love. Wholeheartedly recommended.

We had a stunning meal at limes. The curry was fresh, authentic and full of flavour. We will be coming back and can’t recommend limes enough.

As ever the staff make every effort to accommodate, we didn't want the lunch menu but they were very happy for us to have cake and coffee, scone ine the case of my wife. No matter how often or not we are there we are always find they can find an option suitable for us. We must do their lunch menu asap

I've had breakfast on a Sunday a few times and the vegan breakfast is so tasty and fresh. So decided to try the Vegan Feast Night. It was utterly delicious and can't recommend the evening enough. The courses are paired with wines supplied by South Down Cellars and Giles is on hand throughout the evening to provide more information on each wine. I would recommend this evening even to non vegans as the food is so delicious you really don't miss meat. The evening takes place every month and is £40pp for 11 courses, including the wine pairing but booking in advance is essential as it is a popular evening. Thank you for all the yummy food, can't wait to return.

I went to the Limes Bistro, Lindfield Sussex, with a large group of friends and it was really good. There is a cosy atmosphere, the coffee was good as was the cake. Will definitely go again. Highly recommend this to others, you won't be disappointed TKU.

Very good European style food with occasional thai influences. Try the Japanese feast evening or the vegan feast which is thai veggie. Great value and more food than you can eat.

Nothing but sublime. I've only been once, and only to their monthly vegan Thai night - which is odd for an Italian restaurant, but that's beside the point - and I have nothing but good words to say. We took down 11 dishes in total and I'm fairly sure I had seconds of everything. Ever dish was amazing. Incredibly flavourful, textured and not lacking meat in the slightest. The wine pairing was cracking - every single one hit the nail on the head. And the chap serving it was brilliant at answering all of our inane questions. We had a wonderful time and hopefully will be back.

attention to detail as little extras.I popped in for a coffee and a mini muffin. my coffee was lovely but the muffin came newly decorated with fresh fruit and dusted with icing sugar. nice. touch

Went to a VeganTasting event at The Limes in Lindfield last night - the Chef deserves a Michelin - 11 tasters - superb cooking - each dish, had a medley of flavours and seasonings, delicate herbs and spices (Thai influenced) that came together deliciously harmoniously. I have had many restaurant meals in my life but this one came out there right at the top. The dessert was the jewel in the crown - delicate and sumptuous. Service was A1 - attentive, friendly but not intrusive, and the wine waiter (who has worked in the wine business for many years), knew every last fact about aroma, flavour and origin. A true expert. Well done Limes - we will be back. PS whether you're a plant-based eater or not, you will find this tasting exquisite.

Very friendly stuff, nice decoration. Good value for lunch but dinner I'll say ummmm, also service a little slow. Highlight is Interesting menu especially several Asian choices which are actually very nice. The vegetarian curry definitely worth a try.

Planned breakfast at the last minute. Went on the website, found all the information I wanted very easily, booked a table there and then. Arrived to a fantastic warm welcome by staff you really looked after us. As for the breakfast, I only have one word. FANTASTIC. Cannot recommend Limes highly enough. Will certainly be going back.
