Fab , been brought back to life by anika the landlady, spotlessly clean, great pint , great service and always a happy face behind the bar🙂🍺

we arrived to the pub after a funeral and was greeted by the landlady and her wonderful friendly staff the buffet supplied by the pub was absolutely amazing and of course the view from the balcony was outstanding definitely return to the pub after the lovely warm welcome we all received yesterday

Wow what a Great pub with a brilliant atmosphere and one of the best views in Barry over looking the sea. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit 🍻

Amazing staff, amazing service, very friendly and always have a fab night when here so relaxed and welcoming makes you feel welcome and part of a family community. Couldn't ask for anything better. ❤️

Fantastic channel views from rear beer garden and even though I haven't eaten Sunday roast there yet. I here it's amazing. Always throwing kids party's on the special occasions as Easter,Halloween xmas etc so very family friendly with skittle ally two pool tables and dartboard All in all a fantastic place to either eat watch some live music play a game of bingo and socialize 5*****

since the new chef has come to the Mariner, I have come down for food twice. My food is cooked lovely and soft and outstandingly presented…. The staff are amazing. Everybody is very welcoming and the cleanliness is to a high standard.

On Monday night we had an amazing meal. I know meals are available on Mondays as they are braching out slowly, but it was delicious. Hot, fresh, really good portions and not expensive. Monday night is about to become our regular thing.

9 of us went there today for Mother’s Day and we were all so happy with the food and the service. Best Sunday dinner I’ve had while eating out. The service was amazing, all of the staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back.

We had my sons 21st birthday celebrations here this weekend and it was absolutely perfect! Run by the loveliest people who along with their staff could not have been anymore accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel so welcome. Such a major improvement in this place since being taken over. I would highly recommend. Thank you all at the Master Mariner for helping us make my sons birthday perfect and for being so fabulous. We’ll be back very soon.

New management completely changed the vibe of this pub, lovely atmosphere great place to be. Will definitely be coming back more often!

Recently had several amazing nights thanks to the new land lord and land lady. Very friendly pub, lovely chilled out fun atmosphere.

This pub is a real community pub now that it's a family concern, run by people who are locals. Nothing is too much trouble and you always feel welcome. It has a lovely atmosphere and it just keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait to see what new events are coming up, as the proprietors are always open to suggestions. I highly recommend a visit!!!

Went to the master mariner on the 5th and what an absolute blast we had , good fun for me and the Mrs old school music and good food the service was exceptional and the hunters chicken was to die for , I dont often give a review but this time I had to make an exception. Beautiful people and beautiful service . Cant ask for more. 5 star

Under new management “yet again” however I am pleasantly surprised. The service was with a smile and in my opinion “impeccable”. The pub deserves a lot better than what was received and new management who have an interest in the venue and clientele will no doubt meet with success

Don’t pay their staff and fires them with 1 hour notice!!! And the place is a dive avoid at all costs

Only had drinks as it's under new management. Lovely view. Amazing view of Bristol channel. The atmosphere is just amazing and Bas and rest of the staff are really friendly. There is a skittle room downstairs. Locals are also really friendly.

1.50 for a small can of Pepsi served with a grin and no mask meeting places for ordinary people getting destroyed through greed

Area manage ( Terry ) very rude, speaks to regular customers like rubbish, pub going down hill not the place to be any more needs some one that knows there stuff to run the place

Absolutely love visiting here! The food is outstanding, nothing is ever to much trouble for the chef. The atmosphere here is super family oriented. The staff are fab and friendly and the view is outstanding aswell. It is 100% an all rounder place that we as a family would recommend

Just had a beautiful Sunday lunch here. 2 of us had the Beef and my son had a sirloin. All cooked to perfection. Massive yorky puds also. And all for 30% off til end of April. It’s a must visit.

Popped up for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and so glad we did. It was lovely. My partner had the fish and chips which was cooked to perfection. The fish was a great size and the batter was Beer batter and as fresh as you can get. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala half and half and it was stunning. Chips light and fluffy inside and the rice was lovely. Good portion ration as some places give you hardly any rice for the amount of sauce and vice versa. Definitely visit again. Very friendly staff so I’d recommend this place as a must.

Came in and realised it had been taken over and the manager is arrogant and rude!! No food b cause the kitchen is shut but stopped for a few drinks anyway and the manager (Owen I think his name is) was very rude. There was no alcohol on the pumps and his attitude was tough. The way he spoke to his staff was unacceptable and I could clearly hear it so very unprofessional also. Such a shame as it was our go to place for food and drinks with the old managers as it was a friendly and more reliable place.

If your intending on drinking Carling the pub ran out of its best seller on Tues its Sunday now and still no Carling. This is the 3rd time this has happened since 1st Jan. I walk in and straight back out now. Ridiculous!
