Wow wow wow outstanding Sunday lunch, one of the best ever, the roast beef was beautiful, veg perfect, and a bakewell tart that would put the best to shame, would recommend anybody try it for themselves, really good, not what I expected but as they say unless you try you never now, thankyou for a wonderful day, we will be back

Just got back from here first time we have been it's a lovely little pub tucked away up a side street we were very impressed and made to feel welcome very friendly staff efficient service no long wait for our food which was absolutely delicious no room for a sweet as none of us are big eaters the portions were huge Higly recommend this place we will definitely be going back

Myself and a person I support go to the masons arms often. The staff are always warm and welcoming with a smile. The service is great and nothing is ever to much to ask. Food is all fresh and well presented never been disappointed i would highly recommended going here.

I am a Support Worker and went for lunch today with the person that i support. The Sunday Lunch was amazing, the vegetables and gravy were served separately ( which i prefer ) the staff were very attentive, and checked on us regularly. The whole experience was a breath of fresh air ! If you have not been here yet for Sunday Lunch i strongly advise to go and see yourself. A big Thank You to The Masons Arms for not only the best Sunday Lunch ever, but also the lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be back !

Homemade food was incredible, and fairly priced, with a great Gluten Free choice, barman had great banter and very friendly, great place

This is a small back Street pub, but they know how to cook a good Sunday lunch. Staff are all friendly. The pub and ladies' toilets are very clean. Needs support or we will lose it.

This former pub has reinvented itself as a local, family and friends oriented restaurant. It is quite delightful. Cosy, compact --- sears about 30 people. The food is plain fare, but the quality is extraordinary. Generous portions, lots of home-made elements - brilliant. I urge locals to suppprt them .

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. Lovely staff at this family run pub. Superb vegetarian options, and the pub itself has a marvellous old-school feel. You won't go far wrong if you visit here, the Sunday lunch we had (mix of meat-eaters and vegetarians) was exceptional.

The best "hidden gem" place to eat in Stoke. The most amazing, mouth watering food. I personally recommend the leg of lamb, it just slides off the bone. Incredible!

Sunday Roast (beef) and Steak & Guinness pie we’re both awesome. The wine was good and the staff hospitable and friendly. The atmosphere was calm and homely. Wish the guest cask ales had been available but the draft can of Guinness was a fine substitute.

What a fabulous place; it's clean, comfortable, good choice, excellent food and service provided by Paul, Sharon and Emma. We highly recommend The Masons Arms. In our opinion it is 'Simply the Best' in the area.

My wife and I popped into the Mason’s Arms for Sunday Roast. The pub was wonderful, clean, tidy and welcoming. The Sunday Roast (Beef) was delicious and all veg was beautifully cooked. Too full to have desert there, we ordered it to bring home, looking forward to that later. What a fantastic find. Thank you, Ian and Sue.

Went early on Saturday evening, the owner was very friendly , my partner and myself were both impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. We had pate and garlic mushrooms for starter which weee both homemade and lovely. My partner chose Steak for his main which was tender and cooked perfectly, accompanied by chips and all the trimmings. I had the lamb shank with mash and fresh vegetables which was absolutely delicious ! Looking forward to returning for the Sunday lunch sometime soon.

Read the reviews on this little gem of a pub and thought we would give it a go for Sunday lunch with the family….we were definitely not disappointed. My husband and daughter had the steak & guinness pie and said it was beautiful and the rest of us had the roasts. Absolutely lovely range of 6 veg none of it mushy and fantastic mash and roast pots, together with 3 individual gravies for each different meat. The welcome you get is also worth a mention. The lady serving the meals was really nice and cheerful (that is unusual these days). All in all we had an excellent lunch and we will definitely be back. Thank you..

Went for my Dad's.80th and we were.so pleased we did , the food was fantastic, good sized portions, good quality and reasonably priced Service was really good don't know the lady's name bit she really looked after us, defiantly service with a smile . Little back street pub but with a generous heart , we need to do more to support these kind of places , we will return, thank for a great night

Fantastic Sunday lunch. There was steak and Guinness pie as as a special which we had, kids had turkey dinner. All beautifully cooked and great service.

Why have we never been here before , today we’ve done Sunday lunch and it was absolutely amazing, we both had starters my hubby prawn cocktail , me deep fried breaded mushrooms, they where both very nice , I had roast pork ( the crackling was crispy) the pork melted in your mouth , my hubby had home made steak and Guinness pie , then there were dishes of fresh vegetables, but what topped it was 2 gravy jugs , one for the pie and one made with the pork juices ( I’ve not had this for a long time ) that’s a proper chef. My hubby wanted the apple crumble as it’s his favourite but was full so we’ve taken this home , he can have it later tonight , table service for drinks and the customer service was excellent, I think we’ve found our new place to eat

Good food and a good atmosphere

My wife and myself attended for a meal last night. We had to book to assure that we got a table. As I’ve said before the venue is excellent. The meals were incredible, cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and very filling. I’d like to thank Sharon,Emma and Paul, for making our evening a lovely experience. A good range of drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic, I really enjoyed the Madri.

Although fully booked for Sunday lunch we were offered a table in the bar. The roast was excellent and the service outstanding. What a little jem this pub is and will certainly visit again.

Had the best Sunday lunch away from home ever. Never been before in spite of living local, but will definitely be going again soon. On the plus side the venue was very clean and the toilets were spotlessly clean. Definitely a thumbs up all round.

Very nice pub that still retains its old feel in side. Food is very good all freshly made. Court yard outside seating area is also very nice. A little jewel where you wouldn't think to find one.

Had a most enjoyable evening dining out with our friends and the service and food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would recommend it to anyone who likes a relaxed evening out with the added bonus of great food. Pleasant surroundings, friendly owners and a great find!

We visited on a Sunday for lunch and really enjoyed our proper home cooked food. The staff were all really helpful (the potters half marathon was on and they let us know before hand of the disruption), nothing was too much trouble. My partner had the pie which he really enjoyed and I had the roast chicken which again was delicious. Plenty of veg and a choice of potatoes, in fact I had to bring some chicken back with me for the dog, I couldn’t eat it all, plus needed room for a pudding we shared a fruit crumble and custard and the roulade with ice cream, both again home made and absolutely delicious. A hidden gem of a pub, we will def be back

We visited the Masons early evening and enjoyed our meals which were excellent, followed by gorgeous puddings, wanting to go for seconds as too many delicious options to choose from, even though they have a reduced menu and 15 more selections will be added in the coming weeks as like most are struggling to get supplies, we felt there was lots of choice, many options for vegans and vegetarians. Lovely and clean and nicely decorated. Would recommend. Definitely need to book for Sunday lunch as this is very popular. Thanks again for a great meal.

We have once again had a lovely family catch up at the Masons.Due to COVID restrictions our family have not had the chance to catch up, but once we were all free this was our number 1 place to meet up.We had a great time!Excellent service! The food was amazing as per normal and we love the new dishes on the menu. We have booked tables to return again very soon

Yum yum ... food is great ... and even do takeaway meals to enjoy at home. But, do not think you leave with any cake take home because it's lovely and goes down well with a nice glass of wine.

Our go to place for takeaway, as other half loves the veggie options. Such ‘small portions’ ; mine not showing plated as does me for 2 meals! As usual not managed the puds as stuffed, so the treacle and lemon sponge ( which we have every time) will have to wait til tomorrow - thanks for doing this over the past 12 months

We have had a takeaway Roast Lunch on a Sunday for months now.They are absolutely amazing, we have had cold to reheat in the evening as a tea and also hot to have as soon as home.They are always hot once we get home and ready to eat.We have also had takeaway food in the week from the takeaway menu.All food is amazing we are working our way through the takeaway menu and specials.I highly recommend the pies!Booking is essential as they are just a family run business. I've just found out they are doing Christmas lunch takeaway collection which I will be booking this weekend

My husband and I were looking for a sunday dinner takeaway during this covid-19 period. We noticed an article in the sentinel that the Mason Arms was providing a takeaway. We have never been to this establishment before...The food was collected very efficiently and safely from the pub and we paid by contactless.The food was amazing and the beer gravy was something special, it was still warm enough to eat when we got it home, but my husband likes his piping hot so reheated his a little. (We live a 15min drive away). There was plenty of food in each of the portions,including a very generous helping of good quality beef.We will definitely try their midweek takeaway menu and make a special effort to visit for table service once it is safe to do.

Because of the recent situation my dad and step mum were on isolation. I ordered 2 three course Sunday lunches to collect from The Masons last Sunday. I have eaten here before so I knew it would be nice but couldn't believe the effort they had gone to. Everything was packaged properly and the main meal was served piping hot with the gravy separate. The starters came with lots of salad and bread and the desserts were plentiful with custard to the side in a separate pot. It made their day when I delivered them to my dad and it lasted them 2 days as there was so much meat. We have ordered again for this week. Thanks again

Unfortunately, the Mason's Arms is closed for people to sit in and eat, but the good news is, your can still get their fantastic food as a take away. I telephoned and ordered the Sunday Lunch (23rd March), at which point I was given a time slot. All the people who order get a different time, the nearest to suit you, and that's when you collect.The food was very generous. We had a three course meal for two, which cost £11.95 each. We started with soup, and pate. For the main course I had roast beef - there was enough for me on Sunday, and then we both had the remainder on Monday. My husband had salmon. It came with enough vegetables for four meals (two on Sunday and two on Monday) Everything came in polystyrene take away boxes. Dessert was lemon meringue pie. We were still eating this on the Tuesday!Have ordered and collected again today (29th March). Fantastic way to support your local pub/restaurant during the lock down.Due to the lock down, you cannot sit it at the moment, and the bar is closed.

I've been going to the Masons for a couple of years and can honestly say it's one of the best places for top notch home cooked food. It's amazing. Value for money for the standard of food served up. Great choice and the desserts are to die for. The owner behind the bar has a very dry but brilliant sense of humour. Do yourself a favour, see for yourself.

Fabulous food and great atmosphere.

I went with my partner and two friends and we all had different meals. I had the steak and ale pie and my partner had chicken madeira. Both were home cooked and well presented and hot. Could not fault it. Great value for money and will definitely be returning. Be aware there is very little parking.

What can you say. Four of us ate four different meals and they were all excellent. It's very very good English restaurant food served in a good old pub. Only problem is that there is very little parking but the food is so good is has to be 5 stars 😀. Oh and try the mash!

This is about our fith time here and once again it was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, especially the desserts. The service was good and as always the staff were friendly. We recommend a visit.

I visited this evening for dinner with 5 friends, I had the salmon with Champagne sauce which was excellent, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. Two friends had the Fish Pie and another friend had the Beef in Chianti Sauce, which will be my choice on the next visit. We ended the meal with a selection of desserts. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. If you do decide to visit you will not be disappointed. A very friendly venue with excellent food.

I was looking for somewhere, at short notice, able to offer a reasonable lunch on the Sunday before Christmas, phoned a few places without success, then phoned The Mason's Arms and got in. I'm so glad I did. The only downside was that we waited quite a long time after ordering before the meal was served, (but at least I knew that the meal was being freshly prepared), but it was worth the wait. As a vegetarian, I'm used to being offered small portions (caterers seem to think veggies are stick insects, and I'm not) of pretty standard fayre, typically lasagne or pasta bake. This was something I'd not been offered before and was well cooked and tasty, with plenty of additional vegetables to go with it. The 'occasion' was a pre-christmas lunch for my mother, whose turkey dinner was so plentiful that she took home enough for the following day's meal. Out of the way and unexpected, but well worth a second visit - oh, and they have beer from a local micro brewery on tap as an added bonus.

What a place for food, only go if you are hungry tho as the portions are massive. I went for the gammon and it was absolutely gorgeous. Came with chips, mushrooms, onion rings, tomato, peas, pineapple and salad. Was stuffed when i left couldnt eat another thing. Really nice inside as well with a great choice of background music. The landlord paul is really sound as well makes you feel very welcome and good craic. Will deffo be visiting again hopefully for sunday lunch.
