Good food at a reasonable price. A little background music would set the atmosphere

Went to the marsh-mills to celebrate a family members birthday The meals were great well cooked nice and hot and the menu choice is very good The waitress that served us was laren very helpful and good knowledge of the.menu she explained everything really well nothing was to much trouble

We hadn't booked but the lovely door staff made us feel welcome and immediately sat my husband and self at a table for two. Our waitress Kayleigh was very welcoming , attentive,polite and super efficient. Made our dining experience enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. I'm a vegetarian and sometimes find it hard to get good dishes. I had spinach and ricotta lasagna with steamed veg and my husband had a steak. We were both very happy with the dishes ..my husband is an X chef so we're used to good flavoured food and this didn't disappoint at all. We then shared a lovely KitKat Sunday . Gorgeous. With 2 drinks each we had a lovely evening. The customer service at this particular Beefeater was absolutely amazing. Thank you

Our host Josh was amazing. Made our visit so worthwhile and we celebrated very comfortably. Very grateful they helped us with extra people for the party! Much appreciated thank you Josh!

Had a lovely early evening dinner with Kayleigh attending to our every need. A very polite and helpful young lady 😀 definitely recommend and the steak tonight was perfect.

Our server was called Georgia, and what a lovely young lady she is , so polite and helpful took time to talk to us and was very attentive, the food was amazing very well presented, hot, very fresh and tasty. 😋 (compliments to the chef's ) didn't have dessert as we were both to full , but by looking at what was being served to others customers we wished we had room for one , but next time it will be a must ,. Parking was a breeze plenty of spaces to be had , this wasn't our first visit and it certainly won't be our last we highly recommend the beefeater, thank you for your great service , see you again soon 😀

I stay here all the time with work . Food is excellent, restaurant always has a good atmosphere. You can eat in the bar area too . All the staff are great but one member of staff Millie stands out from the rest , always a lovely smile to greet you and nothing is a problem

Josh looked after us on 2 nights. Even when under stress he stepped up. So well done Josh.See you soon keep up the good work.

We had a family meal here and the food was delicious. If you're having the set menu, make sure your drink is one of the included ones, it wasn't made clear to us.

This was my first visit to this Beefeater. We were left to wait at the entrance to be seated for 5 minutes, nobody seemed overly interested in greeting us however, our waitress who served us throughout the majority of our visit was funny and helpful. Food was hot and fresh and tasted good. A different waitress asked I wanted sauce for my steak which when I asked for BBQ, it never came and I was charged for it on my bill. It took an enternity to get our bill once the original waitress has possibly gone home. I couldn't be bothered at this point to dispute the sauce so we paid and left. It is very dated in this restaurant and you can tell it is 25 years old.

Busy! But plenty of staff there to help out with drinks and food of which were great 👍🏼

The current Google review score of 3.9 is about right, distinctively average. One of us had the Steak Pie which she enjoyed, I had the mixed grill, chicken was cold, the sausages and steak was just above warm, steak tasted nice though, and the chips were good. The other dish was the Salmon, overall nice but to pay £4.99 for "two" average sized additional king prawns was daylight robbery, I thought they may have dropped a few on the way to the table. Prawns probably the same price you would pay if you were getting served by Salt Bae.

We had a table booked for 7:30 and arrived at 7 :25 while we were waiting a member of staff was seating a couple of people in front of us she took them to their table and didn’t come back we were stood waiting to be seated and at least 3 member of staff seen we were standing there and totally ignored us we told them we were waiting and we were told someone would be with us by the time we were seen to we had waited for about 10 minutes when the member of staff turned up she said sorry to keep you waiting but she didn’t seem sorry she was rude and looked like we were disturbing her it’s not the first time that we have been there and has to wait at least before they seemed generally sorry I take it that the member of staff was in charge as she was wearing a white blouse she is in the service industry I expect her to do her job

Convenient for the Premier Inn - staff were very friendly.

The restaurant was extremely busy, however the lady front of house was extremely pleasant greeting every customer with the same cheerfulness. She checked if we had any allergies, offered us a table upstairs and asked if this was ok before taking us to it. Our table was set and the menus given to us were clean and easy to read. We were introduced to Georgia our waitress and asked if we would like to order any drinks. Georgia gave us a few minutes to look at the menus then came to take our order. Despite being extremely busy she served our food with a smile and was very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was well cooked and very tasty. A very pleasant family meal, thank you.

We went to the beefeater at 4pm and had the 'under £8 ' meals for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Service was excellent,quick and polite. Value for money and nice food. Was not rushed and was served quickly. We come here quite often and have no problems as staff are always pleasant and courteous. Thank you.

It's a beefeater. Can't cook Calamari and overcooks rare steak, same as every other beefeater, but it's relatively inexpensive and quick service. Like all the chains, it's food for people who don't really like food.

Having just visited your establishment I have to say the experience was not at all enjoyable. We were left waiting to have our orders taken & when the food eventually arrived it didn't look very appetising . The salmon dish was tastless & looked like it had been served with a packet rice ( certainly not worth the £18). The decor is in need of a serious makeover & a good deep clean. Very disappointing could do better.

Great Staff and great food and they look after the beer

Good for deals. We have Meercat meals discount. Kids eat free in holidays. Food ok. Staff quite friendly and good Prices ok. I am being a bit harsh but not above average but ok to eat there.

Booked for 10.15 for breakfast arrived on time, was told we had 15 minutes to get our food and eat it.by man at counter ,we payed and he asked us for a tip.we said no.he took us to table without a word spoken, and just walked away, myself and my grandson were disgusted and we would never return again .the food was cold and not much left to choose from .but still charged full price .

Stayed whilst traveling for work. These restaurants attached to hotels are pretty much the same in terms of choice of food, however the service at this particular location is excellent. Nice friendly and attentive staff on the bar and within the restaurant. Great service from Leah!

We have recently visited and decided to sit and have food in your bar area due to the restaurant being very busy with people queueing to get a table. The overall cleanliness of the bar and the toilets were very poor. The tables and menus were 'sticky'. The bar staff were friendly but not efficient. Our order for food came out quite quickly considering how busy the venue was and the food was just 'ok', however, quite pricey for the standard of food we received. Such a shame!

Had to wait over an HR for food,when it came the chips on the 2 children's meals were hard & had to be returned.But it wasn't a problem & the waitress was very good about it . The restaurant wasn't very busy ,but the wait has put me off going again .

Lovely looking restaurant and the staff were great but I've never seen a Ribeye steak so thin and bland in my life.

Service was great 🤩, not so great is the disabled access to the toilet, got a till counter in the way obstructing wheelchair access to the toilet not so good for my old Man who in a wheelchair. Food was average quality struggled to cook a steak med-rare came to us 3 times well done. Wouldn’t rush back for food, but bar side is a different story had a great rest of the evening

Only went for buffet, all you can eat breakfast. You have to book in unless you are staying and have the breakfast deal. Food was good. Everything was topped up in good time.

We went here for father's day our table was booked for 2.15 we got seated 2.20 so OK on that but the service was so slow we was in there for 3 hrs 30 minutes and then when we got our pudding all the people who came in after us had all gone it felt like thay could not get us out fast enough as they wanted to get the room ready for something else we was being watched why we eating our pudding so it's OK for the staff to make us wait all that time and then hurry us along as they need to sort out the room how bad. The food has changed a lot and not for the better Iver we will not be coming back for a while And this place was one on our top list of place to eat out well its now at the bottom of our list

Staff friendly Food good Biscoff sundae a must

Shockingly bad service in an exceptionally badly managed restaurant with surprisingly good food despite the 45 minutes it took to recieve our mains , 30 minutes it took to receive our desert. Drinks orders tool 20- 30 to arrive each time. As a result we went straight to the bar to order further drinks and had service with real attitude. I'm genuinely shocked how awful the service was. To add to the bizarre night, builders we're drilling holes in the ceiling from about 9.30 units we left at 10.15pm. The management we're so focused on setting up breakfast for fathers day (from 9pm onwards) they completely disregarded the experience on the Saturday night diners.

Cook too slow waited ages for food even the waitress told the cook we still havent been served mains for ages.didnt bother with dessert too late to eat it .aparently the breakfast was bad the next day as one of our group got refund for the following days breakfast which they had pre booked.i think this place needs a major overhaul with management involved 👎

Stayed at the Premier Inn attached to this hotel for work. I stay away a lot for work and I can't say I rate this place. Stood at the counter waiting to be seated. It was quite busy. The staff mostly walked past with their head down but a couple of them did acknowledge me and say someone would be with me shortly. A customer walked past me and said "service is terrible isn't it, they've ran out of everything too!"  Was seated after 12 mins (just happened to see the time on my phone, I wasn't timing it).  My order was taken really quickly and they had what I ordered except they were out of all of the 0% beers, oh well, no biggie. Food arrived after about 20 mins. I'm not at Mcdonald's so that seemed like a fair wait. However, I think the chips had also been waiting that long as they were stone cold and also looked like they'd seen better days. The burger was lovely though. There was one family stood at the entrance the whole time I was eating waiting to be seated, they also had a booking. One of them even went looking for a member of staff and couldn't find anyone. A comical moment had to be when the couple next to me ordered steak, they had to ask for steak knives and you'd have thought they'd asked for something ridiculous with how confused the waitress was. I was asked if I wanted dessert I said yes and was handed a menu. I walked out after 15 mins of not having my dessert order taken. I'll caveat that with my company pay for the bill so I haven't walked out without paying, it's on the room. There is clearly a staffing and stock issue. Based on other reviews though it would seem this is an ongoing problem that they need to sort. If I come to Plymouth for work again, I'll choose a different hotel and hope the attached restaurant is better. Did I complain, no because I was back there for my included breakfast the next morning and didn't want sneeze-eggs! (*Breakfast was a solid 8 out of 10)

Hmmm. To say this place is filthy is being nice. There was food over the sides, counters and floors. The carpet from the kitchen is so thick with dirt that I doubt it has been cleaned or changed in years... Someone had unfortunately spilt a drink on the floor near the counter and a member of staff had put a spillage sign near it (health and safety?). The sign remained there for the rest of our visit and while multiple people queued, walked and tried to gain food and drink - not one member of the staff team cleaned it up. The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned or mopped for a very long time. The plates were filthy with finger prints and the glasses even had finger prints and lipsstick on them - with one guest lifting multiple glasses to the light for cleanliness checks - no clean ones found. If I worked or even managed this place (5 star hotel background experience) I would be ashamed. Major overall needed here - go somewhere else.

We came from New Zealand and had a afternoon planned, but sadly this came to an end after dinning at this restaurant. After being seated for over 40 minutes our starter came out, one was forgotten. Then a further hour we were advised that one of our mains was not available (fish and chips). At this point we asked where our mains were, it appeared they had not started our mains. At this point we wanted to walk out..... When the mains arrived they were only warm, one was cold, no steak knives were given. If management are reading this, please consider customers: -determine if mains are available at time of ordering, don't wait so long (in hour case over an hour) -ensure food is hot when served -provide relevant cutlery to customers -ensure customers are regularly supplied with drinks

Waited 45 minutes for food. I had a prawn skewer which is one of their photographed advertised meals. It arrived cold so sent back Waitress most apologetic. Replacement came in minutes so obviously reheated on grill as vegetables were burnt. Sent back again. Meanwhile my husband and father, whose birthday celebration it was, had finished their meals. Third meal arrived again cold. Gave up by this time as birthday celebration ruined. Given money off the bill by the duty manager but would rather have had a decent hot meal. This is not the first bad experience at this restaurant but thought would give them another chance after two years. Nothing has changed slow service and poor quality of food. Will not be returning!

Wanted fillet steak, as last time it was delicious. They didn't have any today, tbone was nice. Lauren served us, quickly & politely. Very pleased & we will be back.

Disappointing breakfast. Saturday morning, 9:30 - long queue to get in, loads of tables not cleared and the place felt generally messy. Not enough staff on and those that were looked miserable. Most of the hot food had run out causing long and disorganised queueing whilst the solitary chef and aforementioned server tried to replenish. Coffee is from a machine that takes about 2 minutes a cup and broke down 3 times. Only one machine working so further delays there. Of the food that was available it was ok-ish - sausages were good but the bacon was fairly tasteless and a bit limp. Only had half a hash brown as that was all that was left but was quite crispy as it should be. Not the best value for money. Could do with more staff on, jugs of filter coffee to save the queues and keep a better eye on food levels, replenish faster. Food was stacking on the kitchen counter but was not being taken to the serving area. I would have gone back for seconds and to try the black pudding that wasn’t there on my first foray to the hot food but the queue had grown further so didn’t bother.

Lack of staff, ordered 3 meals,only charged us for 2 !one came out then the next 15 mins after, there wasn’t a third! Won’t be going again! Woman at the bar was evey rude!

We had a very positive experience eating here and we were served by Georgia who was brilliant. It was my mums birthday. When we arrived there was a birthday chalkboard on the table, she also received a free bottle of red wine, a happy birthday card, and a birthday candle on her chosen desert: Apple pie with extra custard plus sing song from the staff. It was all perfect and the food was great. We live nearby so are fairly regular visitors but this experience will just keep us coming back again and again with our friends and family. Thank you!

Due to a large birthday table coming in before us we waited 1 hour for our food, but the staff were extremely apologetic & and really made up for it by spoling us with candles, & gifts as it was my husband's birthday. You can tell all staff were run off their feet but always smiling throughout their shift.

Just as good as it was when we visited so many years ago when we lived in Plymouth. Sadly, there was an undersized bar manager with too much to say and with a Trump type ego that was an irritation, but that was more than compensated for by a Geordi bar girl who is delightful. The management should change their roles. She would do a much better job and not upset the customers.

Stillnot solved, Enterprise probably make over £100,000 a year charging people for existing damage , and they have no obligation to mend damage thus charging multiple customers for the same damage

Waited an hr for food to arrive then all.3 meals for the table where served over a 20 minute period So we could not enjoy our meal together then when the last one finally arrived the chios were unedable as they were so burnt they were rock hard eventually after another ten minutes these were replaced but the rest of the meal had been eaten at this point no apologies for the lack of service and burnt food

Jodie and her team were absolutely wonderful! Jodie, in particular, went above and beyond for our party, her dedication truly stood out. They were able to provide the side room last-minute and surprised us with balloon decorations, candles, music, and even gave gifts from the team to celebrate my father-in-law's 70th birthday. Although the place was nearly empty, more staff than customers, the food took ages to come. They now for a daytime menu and try to get you to upgrade to something edible. On last two visits had lasagne and jacket potato, both poor. If you go for the fish and chips the daytime is Pollock already prepared or pay extra for haddock which was fresh and nice.visited again on 06/04. Better food and service. Thank you Lauren and Chris

On the whole food was good value for money

The location is good, I’m not sure about the rest of it, I’ve been a few times and the experiences can vary a fair bit, most recently it was pretty disappointing for a weekday visit, service was very slow even when it was quiet, also the food came out overcooked and dry, which is an experience shared by others in attendance, when informing our waitress they just replied with “I’m not surprised” and left it at that. I feel like these kind of restaurants are kept alive just by their location and the fact that hotels give them trade, rather than having a good reputation for quality food, worst part is I think it could be good, but currently it misses the mark. I wouldn’t recommend going here, however there is numerous parking spaces and it’s an easy to access location.

Really disappointed, so glad we had a discount voucher or I would have felt robbed. Food was boring and bland, which I think the staff knew because they didn't come back after serving and ask if everything was ok.. Pay the extra and go to Miller & Carter... Damm it just go to McDonald's because that tastes better than this... Really sorry but I'll never return, especially with the prices they charge for sub par food..

Both ordered the baconater burger which looked great on the photo on the menu. What arrived was tiny and looked nothing like the photo. We had raw onion on the burger rather than crispy onion. When we asked about the crispy onions, after 10 minutes we were bought out some very limp uncrispy red onion onion rings. We were told the description on the menu doesn't mean crispy fried onions like you can buy in a tub in the supermarket. The skinny fries were very anaemic and my friend didn't finish hers. The normal thick chips were the best part of my meal. The burger patty was small and burnt around the edges. I'm also not sure it had special sauce on it like it was meant to. We were asked what sauces we wanted, I asked for bbq but this is an extra 99p, so we had ketchup and mayo which was free. We only came here as we had a 40% off main menu code and I will not be returning as even at 40% off the burger meal was not worth what we paid. We also did not get a drink refill until after we'd finished our meal.

Me and my wife both had roast lunch beef and lamb was delicious good choice of veg all well cooked good value for money

Food was awful - I had the halloumi and mushroom burger - the halloumi may have started out as halloumi but didn’t much resemble it on my plate and was all mushy. To make matters worse it was stone cold! To be fair my husband enjoyed his chicken and ribs hence 2 instead of one. Also had to listen to staff arguing about whose job it was to do certain things. They have a captive audience as there is nothing much else in the area for an evening meal.

This is my second time here and I am really unimpressed... the service is awful the chef on breakfast couldn't get a poached egg right. Also they run out-of lime cordial which is a pretty basic thing ti have on a bar

Visited a month back and ended up with cold food but decided to try again on Mother's Day. Never again. We arrived 10 mins early for our booking but there was a large queue. After 20 mins stood waiting, we were asked to go to the bar and order a drink. We sat with our 8yo for another HOUR and ended up going back to the reception to chase up. We were then taken to a table (the restaurant wasn't even full) and after another 20 mins someone came to take our order. Then we were told there was no chicken left so changed our choices and waited again... this time for another 40 minutes! Another long delay and when the food arrived, it was on cold plates with noticeable dried food stuck to the undersides. The vegetables were not too bad to be fair but the meat was cold. We didn't want to complain at the restaurant because the staff seemed overwhelmed. We'd already selected afters but no staff member came back to our table to collect the plates until we'd almost given up. When she arrive, we gave our choices and once again, our selections had run out. I then asked if we would have to wait another 30 mins for the desserts. I was told, "it shouldn't be that long, hopefully...". We decided to give up and just pay for what we'd had and go home. We spent 3.5 hours at this place just to get a dinner that was cold. A really bad experience and one that means we will not be returning.

The food choices and the price are excellent, make sure you book before you go, it can get very busy, especially at the weekends, this is why I only have 4 stars for service

I was so disappointed with the whole experience of our time there. Terrible service and food. It was obvious they had overbooked for mothers day. I thought the manager would come over to every table to apologise for the whole situation but they never did. It was absolute chaos from start to finish. It was absolutely not the fault of the waiting staff. But they took the brunt of all the customers, where the hell was the manager, hiding in the back room I say. Not even discount was offered for the inconvenience of waiting 45min to be seated. Won't be rushing back again.

Slow service even to get drinks ordered, The staff zipping around but so quick when your ordering twice didn’t get chance to ask for everything we wanted so had to try and get another server’s attention to add to the order Then the food came slow and not warm and the burger had 1 tiny bit of lettuce lef, tomato and onion for £15,99 and £4,99 for onion rings was pretty pricey

I have gammon peas and chips. A couple of the chips weren't cooked and the gammon was very flakey. Wouldn't recommend

Stayed in the travel inn overnight, so only used this place for breakfast. There was a queue to get in as it was very busy. The staff worked really hard to get as many people in as quickly as possible. Less than a 5min wait. Food was hot and plenty of it. Staff worked brilliantly despite there being a huge demand from the customers. Seriously impressed my the work rates and that they still remained happy throughout. Well done staff, great breakfast.

I had the mixed grill and the meat portions were very very very poor. Not worth the money . Looked liked the chicken breast was cut in half and they cut the end off the stake and put it on plate. Very disappointed.
