Abbiamo cenato in tre, due adulti ed una bambina, in questo carinissimo pub con grandi aspettative che sono state parzialmente deluse. La pulizia dei tavoli lascia un po' a desiderare mentre il personale è stato, sempre, cordiale e professionale. Abbiamo ordinato una ceasar salad con parmigiano grattugiato, una bistecca con chips e del formaggio di capra alla piastra: tutto buono tranne la bistecca, tiepida tendente al freddo, e la chips, crude; ho chiesto mi venissero sostituite e sono tornate nella stessa condizione. Abbiamo poi ordinato una ottima cheese cake per un conto totale di 85 sterline, eccessivo per i nostri standard qualitativi ma normale per quelli londinesi.

The food and the atmosphere were excellent. The staff attentive and could not do enough for us especially assisting with some gluten free options, especially Susan who went above and beyond to insure we a great afternoon!

Excellent choice for a classic English Pub experience. We ordered the Sunday Roast for two. They allow substitutions and were very accomodating. Best Yorkshire pudding and gravy !

Had the eggs benedict which were amazing. Went in mid afternoon, place was quite but wait staff were very aware I was there and were straight over (Charlie was my server). Coffee was also very nice. Would highly recommend.

Don’t bother. Between the horrendous noise, (they did end up turning it down after I asked) and the woeful nachos - actually corn chips with melted cheese and the staff playing around who seemed to have nothing to do. All in all a complete waste of time and money.

The food was ok, the atmosphere ok, the service not so great. The restaurant has a good vibe despite our experience and was busy with locals, visitors and is well located.

I came here with a large group and they were very accommodating. The server was lovely and made the experience very enjoyable.

Great venue. Food was good. Excellent service. Menu suited our needs and the bar was great. We had a large table in the middle of the venue. It was extremely loud due to the amount of people in there - it was also a day England were playing on TV - but it did not spoil the experence for any members of our party, all of whom had positive things to say. Not pretentious at all. Good all round pub.

I didn’t find the interior very inviting, the service was basic at best, and the food was very disappointing. We ordered the nachos (fried nacho chips) and I got a beef pie with mash. Barely any meat in that pie, mash not particularly tasty and a disappointing cabbage and leek mix. I would not recommend.

I came in here for drinks on 2 of my 4 day trip to The Smoke to visit relations and friends. I really liked the vibe early evening Wednesday it was like the "after work" brigade but real nice mixture! Then I visited Friday mid afternoon as in need of a livener after a 7 mile treck! Quieter but good and my American friends visiting also liked! Nice pint of Tim Taylor Landlord which I woof down here in Staffs. Great pub, friendly staff and now added to my list when back in couple months!!

O ambiente é bem movimentado e está sempre cheio. O serviço foi ótimo, os atendentes foram todos muito prestativos. Enfim, um ótimo pub para experimentar comidas e cervejas inglesas!

Un pub chaleureux et accueillant, avec une belle carte de tapas et de très bonnes bières. Possibilité de commander à la table avec un QR code ce qui est pratique, néanmoins ils demandent de payer directement en demandant si on met un pourboire, ce qui est délicat de dire non vu que c'est commun en Angleterre, et en même temps on nous demande ça avant d'avoir eu quoi que ce soit à table. Cela reste néanmoins un très bon endroit.

After a day of sightseeing at the National Gallery, we headed back towards Holborn and wanted to have some great pub food. The Marquis Cornwallis had good reviews so we dropped in without a booking. It was very busy downstairs, however, staff were welcoming and showed us upstairs, where there were spare tables. We ordered the sausages and mash, which came with chilli-flavoured onion rings. The portions were generous and we were too full to fit in dessert. Great atmosphere and reasonable pricing.

Fish and Chips, ein Klassiker. Meine Portion wurde noch mal in die Küche gebracht, weil die Bezahlung noch nicht abgeschafft war. Entsprechend kalt kam es dann an den Tisch. Kann man machen, ist halt irgendwie ungastlich. Essen ansonsten eben durchschnittlich.

Excelente comida, camareros muy simpáticos, local amplio, bonito y cómodo. Recomendable para probar platos típicos del país.

Booked a Christmas meal here for 30 people. Couldnt fault the communication, service or food. There was a slight glitch with the bill but that was sorted efficiently. My thanks go to all the staff. We would go again.

Esperienza da dimenticare, avrei voluto mettere 0 stelle ma non si può. Avevo prenotato un tavolo dalle 20 alle 22.30 per mangiare e bere. Una volta arrivati ci siamo seduti e abbiamo ordinato dal telefono, senza aver avuto nessuna spiegazione su come ordinare, peccato che ci hanno detto dopo quasi un'ora che l'ordine non era partito e che ormai la cucina era chiusa alle 20.30. Ce ne siamo dovuti andare perché l'unica cosa che ci potevano portare la birra e delle noccioline SENZA FARCI MANGIARE

Relaxing laid back bar. Had breakfast/brunch there Saturday 11th tasty , well presented and reasonable price for central London. Special thanks to staff especially Charlie for great friendly service. Will definitely eat and drink here again when in London

Get the schnitzel! Also, get reservations, by 5:30 you are out of luck!! A very good pub, good staff, good food and plenty of things on tap. But it’s England, an IPA is not the same as in the States.

We took over the pub for the evening of 21st June for all the delegates that had attended our 2 day conference. We had approx 200 guests using the whole pub. It was faultless. The entire pub team worked so hard to ensure we all had a great time. Free flowing drinks all evening. Delicious food handed around to everyone. I could not fault a single thing. I would highly recommend this pub. It's traditional. Beautiful. All the good drinks. Typical pub fayre. Well looked after. Clean. Fun.

I booked an area for 40 and we had some of the upstairs room. I paid a £50 deposit to book and it was instantly returned to me on arrival. The pub is lovely, it was a wonderful evening and the nachos are divine!

My friend and I stopped in for a beer. The decor was up to that we have seen in Dublin. Low ceilings; lots of ornate wood work. Overall, it is the welcoming atmosphere that goes perfectly with good beer.

We booked the upstairs room for our engagement party as it is a great location for those coming in from the midlands and also a really lovely venue. They answered all my questions in the months leading up and made decorating/brining cake/ordering food very easy....

Lovely traditional pub. Decent pint of Timothy Taylors, nice decor, few outside seats to people watch. The service is first class too. You wouldn't make a special trip here but if in the area, you wont go wrong for a drink here.

I popped in to The Marquis Cornwallis yesterday with a friend for drinks, and had a great time. The pub was roomy and well-presented, and very clean. It was quiet and calm despite being in central London too. We were served our drinks by Stephen, who was really helpful and friendly, just like the other staff we met. The service was fast too. We felt so welcome that we stayed for some food too. I had the sausage and mash, which was tasty and had very good sausages, and my friend had the steak pie which they enjoyed. Both meals were good value for the area. 10/10 would recommend- I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

I have visited The Marquise Cornwallis so many times, I never been disappointing with them, always smiling and attentive. The atmosphere and the drinks are amazing. As we live different times this time, all the health and safety rules is been followed to keep staff and visitors safe.

My group had some very specific requirements, and the guys at the pub were incredibly accommodating - Could't recommend them more to be honest! That aside, the food was great and the atmosphere right up there with the best!

Really recommend this for anyone in the Russell Square area, which lacks pubs of real character and a bit of history. The food at the Marquis is really terrific and good value given the location. Staff were nice, friendly and attentive. It's a really quiet area so a great location to visit on a sunny day. Nice high ceilings makes it airy and comfortable too for summer. Great historic pub, we will be back!

Fantastic Pub, came down for the England vs Scotland game, and the staff were nothing but brilliant, catered to every need we had and went out their way to make it an enjoyable night for us all. We went for some food in the afternoon, then back later for the game. Susan and the staff on were extremely helpful all throughout the process of booking and helped us throughout the day and night.Would definitely recommend.
