We love Marlin. Its a local fish and chips in town.

Fish was full of oil. Chips, mixed Luke warm with cold. This use to be a very good fish and chip shop. Their standards have dropped drastically.

The chicken and chips I purchased was awful. Massive chicken leg with hardly any meat- just grisly, chared oily rubbish and it smelt odd too, contaminating the chips. I got a refund, but the owner was very rude about it. He said he wouldn't serve me again! Phew. Luck escape lol Avoid.

Staff is very kind and friendly. Been going there for years.

A friendly and helpful local fish and chippie that is open every day surprisingly. You can pre-order and collect, saving a queue. The fish is cooked fresh each time so the batter is crisp and very high quality, and the chips are triple cooked. The portions are enormous, so be prepared to have chips the following day as well! Even a medium chips is enough for 2 hungry adults. Excellent place.

I ordered gluten free haddock and chips and a chicken nugget box which were very tasty and cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend especially for anyone on a gluten free diet, no need to worry about cross contamination. Ali was very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to.

Tastless Chips, had no flavour whatsoever. They were over cooked almost like they were oven baked or grilled and not fried in oil. Small chips for £2.50 was half a bag just enough for 3 year old child. Never again buying from this shop.

Very friendly staff such a nice group of guys. Food is lovely and fresh. If I have one complaint it's the hotdog. Probably the worst hotdog I've ever bought. It is literally a sausage with two hot dog buns. No sauces offered no onions offered which let's be honest is really bad as a hot dog and onions go hand in hand. So my advice is do not order a hotdog you will be sorely dissapointed.

Fish and chips ok, not the worst, certainly not the best. Just the closest. But don't appreciate the sarcastic staff. Plenty of other places for fish and chips or other take aways in Addlestone, at least 3 others in walking distance and two more a few minutes drive.

Med Cod and small chips. Pros: The best fish I've had in a very long time. The fish was a good size and fairly thick. As soon as I unwrapped it and saw the fish I knew it was going to be good. !0/10 for presentation and I wasn't disappointed. Cons: Way way to many chips. It reminded me of the bible story, the feeding of the 5000. As we all know there is nothing free is this world. I do wonder what the med and large chip portions look like. The excessive chips have to be paid for. A little more expensive then most. Overall: Excellent 4.5 stars. Let down only because of the amount of chips which does boost the price. Having said that you only get what you pay for and you really can't beat the quality.

Ordered on a delivery app as couldn't leave the house, the chips were OK however the savaloys were freezing cold and didn't have the nice slight crispness to them as they normally do. As if they had just been pulled from a fridge and stuck in a bag. Would not order again unfortunately

Recently moved to the area and fancied some fish and chips so though I'd try my new local and I can honestly say I was very pleased! Cod bites were lovely and batter was perfect, the chips were delicious, light and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Will definitely be a regular customer at my new local fish and chip shop.

Very expensive for fish and chips. You’d expect perfect fish and chips for the price but unfortunately it is average at best. Cod batter was completely stuck to the paper and lost all of the batter from one side of the fish. Chips came bland, unsalted and no vinegar. Very disappointing

Was very disappointing and wasn't as good as usual. Fish was swimming in oil, it was almost cold. What a letdown, it is usually so good. If this happens again custom will be lost. Value for money I would only give 2 stars.

I felt like a good plate of fish and chips for dinner and on a Bank Holiday Monday the Marlin was the only place open in my local area and I was very hesitant to go back here as my last fish and chip takeaway had been so disappointing but I decided to give it a go. I am so pleased I did as the fish and chips were just superb and some of the best I have ever tasted, the fish was beautifully fresh and flavoursome and covered in a thin crispy batter that was not saturated in oil and the chips wre also very good indeed. I enjoyed the fish and chips so much I am thoroughly looking forward to my next visit and hope they are equally as good, 10 out of 10 on this occasion.

Best fish and chips I had so far! They are very friendly, everything freshly cooked (not soggy from oil as in some other places) and even I couldn’t finish the small portion. I had the second half next day reheated, still been delicious. Very happy with them :)

I called into the Marlin and ordered a cod and chips for lunch and whilst the cod was a decent size and not bad the chips were an absolute disgrace. They were very deep brown in colour and a few almost black so it was very apparent these had been left over from the day before and then thrown back in the fryer again to reheat them, they were also very oily. If I lived clsoer I would have taken them straight back and complained and given them a piece of my mind as what was served to me was completely unacceptable and the chips were just dropped into the bin Needless to say I will not be going back here again.

The Best Fish & Chips in Addlestone. I love the meal deals for the great valve and quality for little money. The staff and very accommodating and i defiently recommend if you are near by and looking for great taste and a bargain try The Marlin.

My uncle recommended this place when we came to visit and it was delicious!! Freshly cooked while we waited; crispy fish and chips that were tasty and the best we’ve had in multiple trips to the UK. The staff is very friendly , not just to us but to all the other customers who came in to pick up orders while we were waiting. Great location and we will definitely return on our next trip. Thanks for a yummy meal!

Tried this for the first time and have to say without a doubt one of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Service was extremely friendly, portion size is very generous and the shop looks very clean. I Would definitely try them again and I would recommend them highly.

Best fish and chips in the country!

I don't normally do reviews on take aways as they are normally all the same but The Marlin in addlestone reminded me of how fish and chips used to be served. The chips were not soggy or been left in a container for ever and could be seen being cooked fresh with a double cookiu technic that ensured each hand full was hot and crispy. The large cod we had was plentiful and the fish wasn't covered in batter like other chippys I've visited in the area. What else can I say if you like your chips crispy and hit and you like like your fish lightly battered so you can taste the fish and not oil in every mouthful then I highly recommend the the marlin. So glad I tried them out as I was going off fish and chips but not now. Thanks guys.

This is the best I have tried in the area thus far. The large place and small chips I ordered turned out to be a huge plaice and chips, all for £8.20. Well done!

Every time we visit we know we're in for a "yummy in our tummy" treat. We are always very happy with the friendly atmosphere and how clean it is. The food is extremely delicious, we have tried it all and enjoyed everything we've ordered and the chips are fried to perfection. Can't wait till we go again!

Only faults are less batter on battered sausages when I requested for *very* lightly batter! And main fault 🥺😞 is Curry sauce used to be a lot thicker and more taster; it is now too watery and less tasty due to the wateryness. It also just drips off your food items Please make it thicker, like when the Marlin 1st opened! 👍

A year since my last visit as not local to the area. Once again I was served efficiently from a helpful young lady. She even advised that the size of chips I ordered would be a lot. I thought this was really good to minimise waste. Med cod, chips and onion rings all at a reasonable price and delicious. Love The Marlin and only wished I had one this good closer to me

Undercooked batter on the fish again. It's like its wrapped in a piece of soggy wet bread. Third time in row like this, wont be going here again.

Good food, overall nice place BUT it looks like it is NOT COVID SAFE unfortunately. The majority of customers are wearing masks, I admit that, but some of them are STILL ALLOWED TO COME WITHOUT! On their busy times some people WAIT INSIDE and I ALWAYS WAIT OUTSIDE... That is a shame because the chippy is decent and clean but why choose MONEY over PEOPLE? Think about it 😔😔😔

Excellent service with friendly staff, always very welcoming with excellent food and deals. Absolutely love the meals they make especially the fish bites with chips, onion rings and tartar sauce. The kid meals are great value as they are quite large and have always filled the kids up! Would highly recommend.

Clean shop but my calamari was burnt and instead of cooking up a new batch he decided to serve me the burnt calamari. Also he served me the small leftover crispy bits of chips and cooked fresh chips for the other customers. Not impressed. First and last time

Fancied fish and chips after a long day and thought we would try The Marlin. Order was taken efficiently and politely by the young lady. The price was reasonable so wasn't expecting great quality. When the food was ready I was very surprised, it was delicious and so many chips. The cod was perfect and would definitely use The Marlin when ever in the area.

Do not order from here on Uber Eats. Took over an hour to arrive 🙁

The Fish and Chips @ The Marlin, is simply splendid! Definitely worth visiting if your hungry and in the area.

Terrible chips very clearly just been reheated from earlier today or even last night, very hard and dry, battered sausage didn’t taste freshly made either, will not be ordering from here again which is a shame as when they first opened we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Very disappointed.

Been a regular for a while, but last 2 times have been superb! Chips - drained, rather than left to go soggy bins - were wonderfully crispy, as was the batter on the, well priced for size, Haddock. Highly recommended!

The worst chips I have ever had, had them at lunch time as a treat with a battered sausage and I think they must have been reheated from the night before. The chips and sausage were saturated in oil and were over cooked, my husband had a saveloy that had no flavour at all. We ended up throwing it in the bin as it was inedible. Definitely will not be returning.

Fancied some lunchtine fish and chips and headed off to my favourite fish and chip shop in the area but they were closed and as the Marlin was the only one open thought I would give them another try and ordered a regular cod and chips.How I wish I had not bothered and just gone straight back home and made a sandwich, the regular cod was just so small and the chips were bland and anaemic looking as they had not been cooked properly, most of the chips ended up in the bin.NEVER AGAIN will I ever set foot in this place.and waste my time and money.

Very small portions compared to other chip shops in the area, over priced and not very well cooked either.

The best fish and chips for miles around. They cook the fish to order and the oil always seems clean. Generous portions served with a smile. I wish they were in my home town of Walton-on-Thames but they are worth driving to. I’ll be back.

The Marlin provided hot, fresh food delivered for about 80 people. It was on time and well wrapped. Excellent value. Would recommend them to anyone. A word of caution, the haddock is enormous.

Happens to be my local, but best F&C I know! Chips are drained, so nice and crisp - not the soggy mush that results when simply piled into 'bins'!

Chips were over cooked and I had to wait for over 10 minutes just for a meal deal box that only includes 3 cod goujons and 3 onion rings.

Best chips ever! Perfect crunch on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Amazing, Perfect, Brilliant, Tasty. LOVED them. Being vegetarian sometimes chips is the only thing on the menu that I can have and these were outstanding. Whoever made them on Friday the 27th of September deserves a medal.

Just had a family fish and chip take away from this establishment. Must say from walking in the doors this place is spotless .nice sized portions , nicely cooked chips , and golden batter on the fish . Would definitely use this take away restaurant again . Friendly staff too .

Amazing fish and chips, lovely staff

Chops are just left out prior to cooking above the display counter, this really effects the taste in my opinion. They are really stodgy, subpar. Not nice. It looks nice and the staff are friendly enough though very liberal with the salt.. Think they want me to have a heart attack...
