Batter wasn't cooked but the food was very cheap but couldn't eat. Do not recommend

Used this place recently twice now in the last few days, im currently classed as homeless but not on the streets after fleeing domestic violence. Went in today with limited funds but they gave me extra chips and a curry sauce on them. The guy who served me Mahet? Was very welcoming and friendly and remembered me and he was very understanding of my situation. The food was amazing and the best place for chips. I would deffo recommend and will deffo be going back. Thank you Market Plaice!!!

Went there today. Their chips is really nice and fresh. Very nice customer service, chaps working there were welcoming. Enjoyed the experience. I’m normally a picky eater but enjoyed the good here, recommended place.

Good little chippy. Tasty chips and we had the battered sausage which was crispy and tasty. Staff were friendly Good prices too. It's a little gem...could do with a brighter sign so more people notice.

Tried this whilst camping a couple of miles from Devizes. Went around 9pm and ordered Fish & Chips. The fish was cooked fresh and they were delicious, a generous portion at an extremely reasonable price. Back here next year on camping trip and will definitely get another fish supper from there.

As usual the best place in Devizes to go for some great fish and chips! The food is great, the staff are lovely and the prices very fair. Always a treat to come here, 5 stars all the way!

Always lots of small independent shops and cafes eating houses the market on Thursday is a very good place to wander around food clothing and lots in between

Took a while, quite expensive for what I bought, definately wouldn't buy the whole family a meal from there as it would cost way too much. They use polystyrene and eventhough they packaged half the break they put it in the heated area for another 5 minutes just to get the sauce. Won't be returning

I just popped in and found the food to be nice and simple well done traditional "chippy" food. The staff are friendly and all set in beautiful Devizes market place. Going to make this a regular chip stop. Very nice.

The meal was mediocre at best, cold chips and battered sausage, the highlight was it was cheap.

Friendly service and clean. Chips are amazing and portions are massive. Fish not so great. Dry with slightly soggy batter, but again big portions. Free garlic sauce. We'd go there again occasionally.

Pleasantly surprised. Ordered the haddock and chips. It was freshly cooked and a good portion. The batter stayed on the fish and didn't get stuck to the chips which is how it should be. Overall very good curry sauce a little bland but overall a good meal. Thanks guys.

Just got my order it was late and I didn't get all my order and when I rang them about it they said I was lying and I had all my order will NEVER use again

This has changed so much since my last visit . It is now in my opinion the best in town chips are beautiful and cold from god! Wonderful!

One of my favourite chippies in Wiltshire. Shame about some of the customers though as they seem a little rude towards the staff and then write really bad reviews towards the shop. Remember the last time I was in there a customer was quite racist when the guys behind the counter were serving them. So sad to see. You can see the reviews of these guys on here. Would be nice to be able to report such reviews. I travel quite far too as they are open later than any of the chippies near me in Swindon.

over priced , microwaved food and shockingly rude staff Food - I can only describe the food here as mediocre the chips were soggy , grey on the inside , the savaloy was microwaved from frozen , it tasted like a rubber just pure rubber Staff and pricing - the staff were extremely rude, unpleasant and unwelcoming as soon as we asked to sit down. And when we left the shop, before confronting them about their overpriced food, one of them said you got a problem are you checking the prices his colleague muttered show them the menu whilst on his phone playing games we were presented with a dusty menu that was not shown to us ever nor was it advertised seating costed extra i asked for a receipt and got a food order ticket of which he didn't even put how much each item was he spelt the establishment wrong Once we left after confronting them about the prices they laughed at us on our way out Seating - the seating was terrible and the restaurant was extremely erie and all you could hear was the microwave, the rude staff talking loudly and one of them playing candy crush , the orange walls should've been the amber warning for us to leave Price - on the board our price was £9.50 I was prepared to hand over a ten pound note and the man refused , i attempted to pay again once our food arrived he refused again and once we finished the poorest excuse for food i could ever imagine they finally let me pay for £8 more than expected Dumb and dumber if you're reading this i want my money back you illiterate cheese strings

Did used to be a great chippy went there todaygave me what was ment to be a large cod was a tiny dried up bit of fish it was disgusting and the chips was cold and had so much salt on it was impossible to eat them. The worst chipshop i have ever been to in my life.

We had four different meals from there and they were all terrible the chips tasted like they were recooked from last week, the chicken drier than the Sahara desert, the batter on the cod was soggy the fish cake and sausage over cooked. Will not be going back again

Horrible!...chewy, soggy and greasy fish and fat pouring out of the chips. Gone out for Mr Fox not even fit for the dog 😞

Fantastic late night fish and chips, one huge piece of fish enough for two! Fresh, tasty crispy batter and moist fish, chips were excellent.

When the fish is freshly cooked, it's some of the best crispy battered fish I've had anywhere. However, if the fish has been around for a while the batter goes soft, it's not so good. Best bet is to ask them how long ago the fish was cooked, and if necessary, ask them to fry you some fresh.

Never had a problem with anything I've got from there, very friendly, very quick!
