Great place for lunch on my walk from Salisbury to Stonehenge

Food looked good but tasted ok and the staff need more training about the drinks and food. We got led out to our table and the drink menu is on the wall in the pub and when we asked about the foid the waitress didnt know. The pub itself and the beer garden next to the river is very nice.

My sister and our families went for a birthday meal and it was beautiful surroundings, wonderful food and great service. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. They do have a small children's menu.

Just had the best roast sirloin beef here. I have been to several pubs in the area for Sunday lunch before BUT this was exceptional….quality ingredients, cooked perfectly with attentive service and generous portions. No wonder they were so busy!

A large party of us booked a preordered lunch. My choice of the poached salmon salad was disappointing. The salmon itself was perfectly ok, the salad was fresh enough and the cold saute potatoes ( not quite the potato salad I had anticipated) were ok but the whole thing was just so cold! I understand that it was pre prepared but cold food, for me, has little flavour and whilst it was ok I didn’t particularly enjoy it. Others had pie and vegetables, ham egg and chips and haddock and chips and these definitely looked the better choice.

The location is lovely. Staff friendly. Although a little disorganised. We both ordered fish and chips. We were very disappointed. Small piece of haddock, served with french fries and over cooked garden peas. I could have done better at home from my own freezer. We would have had proper chunky chips at least! We won't be returning for food.

Location location location, just superb. Average to good pint of Doombar, staff seemed a bit understaffed but they were all working their socks off. Food had was differing in quality, the premium sirloin steak was not premium and not cooked as requested, (rare, came more on the well done side of medium) fish and chips was good, kids burger was a really nice juicy burger, and ham egg and chips was really nice, with good quality ham. We will return.

Hugely expensive burger, £18 for a Halloumi burger and a handful of chips, served by miserable teenagers, no wonder the place was mostly empty.

Sunday Beef roast was just amazing. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Great atmosphere. Very dog friendly.

Food average, had a roast on a quiet evening and was only told they had run out of Yorkshire pudding as the meal was delivered.

Nice pub in the middle of nowhere really, no phone signal on 3 here. Plenty of parking and a lovely outside area, we came at the wrong time of year to use but in the summer this looks like an amazing pub right by the River. Inside was cosy and we had a pleasant meal.

Generous portions. Food was tasty however I ordered the Sirloin Steak and was given slices of roasted Beef. Cooked well but was expecting a steak. Service was great. Attentive staff, friendly. Ample parking. Dog friendly.

This was a Christmas gathering of family and we ate from the Festive Menu. We all enjoyed what we had ordered to eat and I, particuarly. loved the Cappaccino Chocolate Moose and spoke with the chef before we left to congratulate him (Ash). The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

After a long winter’s walk, 4 of us booked in for a Saturday Christmas lunch treat. The Christmas pie and roast turkey were delicious. We enjoyed the relaxing, friendly atmosphere and great service. Lovely place to catch up with friends.

We’re meeting friends at a halfway pub across the counties and unfortunately stumbled upon this. £17 for a very basic veggie burger (halloumi slab and bit of pepper), Side of chips thrown on the plate & the most pathetic salad you can imagine. The husband and friends had the ‘Festive burgers’ which were just as bland and cheaply made. They all commented it was like a Tesco frozen turkey burger. One burger was missing cranberry and the waiting staff handed my son a Christmas pudding but had no idea what it was. Staff didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable or competent. It was all in all a pretty average experience and the price of the food is completely unacceptable for the quality of food. We shall choose another pub to meet at next time. Total rip off!

We had lunch with a group of friends and were all very impressed with the setting and the food. It is not the cheapest but the beef I ordered was amongst the best I have had anywhere - succulent and extremely tender.

A thoroughly lovely experience, The Bridge Inn really needs to be seen at Christmas time all done up in festive decorations, with the fire crackling and even a resident Robin visitor! The Sunday roast here is the best you'll find in Wiltshire and the service is friendly and welcoming. In warmer months, the spacious garden has fantastic views out over the stream, meadows and surrounding hills. Highly recommended.

Fantastic meal, I had the homemade burger, it was beautiful. Hubs had the steak, medium rare, he said it was the best steak he'd had in a while. Food was pre-ordered and came out in good time. There were a few of us eating and there were no complaints. Staff very attentive and great customer service. Thank you.

Really good address. Very tasty food and great drinks. Sitting outside in good weather and watching the river flow is absolutely relaxing. Service is excellent here.

The food was good and there was a lot of it. However the waiter we had we quite rude due to a misunderstanding. Also the food is pricing and they say it’s a 10% service charge but if you opted out of that you feel forced to give a tip. It’s not very nice atmosphere due to the staff drinking whilst on the job as well. Wish there were more veggie and vegan options.

This is a goldmine re location by river and age of pub but maybe a victim of its success with a vaguely tired & messy outdoor area. Marquee spoils it. Served with a smile but no cutlery. Very tasty sandwiches but we were forced out by the large pub dog with hackles up bothering our quietly tied up dogs. He (v obvious he) would not go away so barking ensued and miserable patrons frowned.

Arrived 25 minutes before the kitchen was due to close but were told we would have to order straight away. Had to make a very quick decision and were disappointed with our food. The setting is fabulous but that was the only good part of our evening

Beautiful setting, friendly, good food and service. But the rating needs to come down due to the predatory pricing. Way beyond inflation. Nearly twice what I pay for the same items at London pubs. No excuses.

We had a really lovely visit. We were a big table of adults and children and there was enough on the menu for everyone to choose from. Particular highlights for us were the halloumi burger and ploughman's platter. Service was friendly and the pub itself was lovely. It was a rainy day but on a sunny day we would have enjoyed sitting outside by the river. Very pretty. Would reccomend anyone to give it a try.

The location is very nice and the service is pretty good. The food was just average though. The special of mixed fish platter was just OK, quite a heavy crispy batter and average chips. Kids chicken bites was just OK as well, quite steep at £10. The Greek salad wasn't really a Greek salad. Lots of mixed lettuce leaves and loads of olives. Feta cut up in tiny cubes and had a balsamic glaze on it, no oregeano! I'd be back for a pint, but not food. However, some of the food that came out to other diners , looked better 👍

Found this pub by accident. Beautiful setting, plenty of dining in and out. It was Sunday and we had a roast which was excellent. Service was very good and staff were very pleasant, can't fault it ☺️ Whilst it is a little pricey that is what you find in Wiltshire I'm afraid.

Lovely setting on the River Avon. The pub straddles the road with parking and outside seating (cover available) alongside the river and the pub building the other side. Good food - quite typical pub menu but well presented. Lovely old interior.

Have a big outdoor area by the river. Did sit outside for a bit but was cold. Would be amazing in the warm sun. Inside is really nice though so not an issue. Food was great and great portion size. Everyone there was really friendly. Will be back soon!

This place is just a 10-minute drive from Stonehenge. The vibe was warm and welcoming, and the food was outstanding. It’s a quaint family-run restaurant and they source their ingredients fresh from local growers and producers—high quality you can taste. I ordered the pie of the day with a side of peas and the fruit cobbler for dessert. The pie crust was buttery and flaky, and the filling consisted of tender, melt-in-your-mouth chunks of beef. Paired with green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy that balanced the flavors and textures of the pie, it was a quintessential British meal. The fruit cobbler did not disappoint. It was served with a custard sauce, and boy, was it good! The warm berry filling went great with the biscuit crumble. Not too sweet with the flavors of the in-season berries shining through.

Nice restaurant! The food was excellent! Flavor and quality of ingredients are also great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. If you are sitting outside just be sure the staff knows you are there. It seems when the weather is not so good, the waiters are not checking that often. I'll definitely come back to try something else from the menu.

Good location. Unfortunately, I didn’t think the menu was inspirational as a vegetarian.. I was quite hungry and ordered a sandwich, the bread was nice and fresh. Fries were fries! The mozzarella was a sliced packet style, which I had never eaten before.. Always had Italian mozzarella up until now. The cheesy garlic bread was steamy like it had come out of the microwave :( Tbh, I was Disappointed. My brother, who is a chef and runs a very successful pub, with exceptional reviews for food & hospitality, sent back his ‘Cesar Salad’, unfortunately we were not impressed by Lorna's attitude towards us and found her abrupt and frankly rude. Will NOT be returning. A shame really.. As most local businesses are word of mouth.

Beautiful setting by the river. Unfortunately we were seated next to the kitchen and the noise, shouting and screeching was not what we wanted for an evening meal with friends... also our dinner came out 10 minutes after our friends. Food was nice, but it wasn't a particularly nice experience.

Arrived at the riverside garden and were told by waitstaff that it was table service. We waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order before we gave up and headed to the bar to order. During this time we watched 3 waitstaff have 10+ minute conversations with tables of friends. Two of the meals we wanted were “out” Staff were unable to tell us if the pork burger was pulled or pattie. 5 of the 10 tap beers were unavailable. Once at the bar it took our table of six 30minutes to order our food as staff continually prioritised their regulars as they arrived at the bar whilst we waited in line. During this time the waitress had to check TWICE if the kitchen was still open. Surprise 10% service charge (on a regular Friday) which is not mentioned anywhere on the menu Staff attempted to deliver five seemingly random meals to our table before eventually getting our orders correct Average food and terrible service saved by nice surrounds

Waited ages to be served and then only after my husband went to the bar twice and asked if anyone was serving. I had fish which was overcooked and more burnt.

Sadly the food was underwhelming, went with a group of 7 and we ordered a variety of options from the menu, the general verdict was that whilst the food was cooked well (Steak medium rare as requested, chips crispy etc.) most of it was bland. I'm hoping to give this place another go as its based in such a picturesque location and the service was incredible. There was a wedding on at the same time so perhaps best to take this review with a pinch of salt.

It seems to be a local restaurant that I visited after visiting Stonehenge. I ordered fish and chips and a shrimp sandwich and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and the restaurant atmosphere was great. I recommend it to those who have been to Stonehenge.

Popped in for a drink on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Wedding reception going on in the beer garden so sat at a sunny table on the patio. Excellent friendly service even whilst a private function going on. Was even given a couple of canapés on the way past. Lovely job.

Can't really say. Arrived at 2.15 for our wedding anniversary looking forward to a meal in a country pub. Kitchen was closed. Pub was nice and staff very friendly. Shame about no food though. Will try booking next time. Beautiful garden by the Riverside.

Sadly a rather ghastly experience, at a push 2 marks out of 10. Service behind the bar dreadful, as customers we felt totally ignored by the total of 5 people behind the bar, which was almost empty. The landlady finally served us, then walked away ~ no payment taken. Though have to say our drinks were beautifully presented, with ice and fruits. Stood there again being ignored ~ one young staff member now behind the bar, who sadly seemed unable to use the till. We were tempted to walk away, leaving our drinks behind. Were they serving food, who knows? Only redeeming feature is that the view overlooking the river is lovely and so peaceful. Most definitely this venue now struck off the list.

Appalling. The worst service I have ever received in my 60 years. The waitress was rude. Our main course plates were cleared before we had all finished and piled up in front of one of us. The table was then cleared and we waited a good half an hour before we had to call the waitress eventually over to ask for pudding menus. We ordered puddings and they were banged down on the table, not in front of us. We had to ask for spoons and these were put down in a pile on the table in a very petulant manner. Nobody asked us for coffee. Our poor host was incredibly embarrassed, The waitress had a real attitude and was rude and should dedfinitely not be doing that type of work, It ruined our evening. We spoke to the Manager who said that they had received lots of complaints about the waitress so even more worrying that they were employing a waitress that they had received lots of complaints about. I would suggest that there are other pubs in the area and I would avoid it like the plague. PS the food was poor and tasteless. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

What a wonderful place. Lovely pub, excellent garden right next to the river. Had a table next to the river, under a large weeping willow tree. Not a cloud in the sky. Had sandwich from their 'lightbites' menu. Delish. Service was quick and very friendly. Ham, tomato and cheese sandwich for £14, (see photo) beer £5.50.

A most enjoyable weekday lunch with a group of friends. Interior of the pub interesting, great design. Food excellent, beautiful presentation, service with a smile, perfect! Lots of outdoor seating too, including across the road, by the river.

While the place is beautiful, the staff friendly, they offer parking and pet friendly environment, the prices are very high. Being so close to Stonehenge, I guess it's priced for tourists. We had two burgers and two cokes for 47£. Might as well go to a fine cuisine restaurant.

This is an excellent pub in a picturesque setting on the River Avon. We have used it a few times now and have never been disappointed. It has a warm and comfortable interior with log fires. In addition across the lane is its garden with a heated marquee and plenty of tables for riverside eating. The food is very well prepared pub staples. I had fish and chips which were quite perfect with a lovely thin crisp batter. Others in the group enjoyed homemade pie and mash or Sunday roasts.

What a lovely country pub. We stopped here after a recommendation for a colleague at work. Boy they were right! We had beef and red wine pie which were gorgeous. Great setting. Friendly and attentive staff. We’ll be back!

Busy and buzzy. Everyone from builders to posh ladies, all under one roof. Good pub food, not Gasto but good. Fair prices. Friendly staff. Tables by the river are lovely
