What a relief. This is one of my nearest pubs to home. Love old buildings, it's stunning. Not been the same since it was Cloisters. Well now things appear to have changed for the better. Two new landlady/landlord's there. Really care..keen for feedback, great for the banter, good service and it's So much cleaner..it's only been a week!! Good luck to these guys. This is a critical pub in Salisbury! Tried food this evening..2nd night serving food. Had scampi, chips, peas, tartar..friend had burger & chips. Delish! Cheers guys and Good Luck 🤗smiling again x (Thank You)

We came to this pub after having a horrible experience at a previous pub, we just wanted to watch the football so cant comment on food, but it did look delicious. The guy that was working was so friendly, had a lovely chat it couldn't of been further from the other pub. Watched the footy, lots of screens, lovely and big but felt really cosy as well. Will definitely be returning when I'm back in Salisbury.

What a lovely friendly welcome from Vince behind the bar. Just popped in to see if we could get lunch (unfortunately no, the chef was ill) However lack of hot food wasn't a problem as we stayed to chat and enjoy some nice 6X beer. Interesting conversation about the town generally and Pubs specifically. Wished we had known about the live blues music planned for the evening, but we had a lovely afternoon anyway. Must mention the lovely Jade behind the bar too. Will definitely return 👍

Booked an hour of darts for £15. Smart board was poorly lit and did not work properly; only registered the odd throw. Moved to another board, worked better but not 100% either. Very frustrating and ruined the game. Plus, smarboard games no good for players who want to throw quickly after their opponent. Probably ok for kids or work parties, but wouldn’t go there for another game of 501.

Very apologetically, sent here by Andrew , manager at the sister pub the Pheasant Inn when thay ran out of Sunday Roast The carvery (table served for us) was of very, very good. Well presented with separate veg. A sports bar (with three tvs showing football, faux open/gas pit fire) would not have been our normal choice. The roast beef and veg was very good. A very good standard meal in sport bar setting. Beer was good. Vince tha barman was very attentive. For a more quute6 dining experience, choose sister the Pheasant Inn. The Bell and Crown offers a good standard in sports bar setting. Very good standard food served to us.

I’ve tried to go to the Bell and Crown for the last 2 Saturday evenings, it’s just not possible. Only one guy serving from behind the bar, he also takes food orders, collects glasses…. So huge queues, empty glasses everywhere… it’s such a shame, always used to have a drink here before a meal. The guy behind the bar looks stressed and can see customers walking out. Both evenings we have then gone to Ox row instead , loads of staff, loads of customers…… it’s not hard to work it out

First experience of this pub was awful, Myself and hubby went in and my hubby went to the bar to order a drink.. a coke and a pint of madri, the barman poured over half the pint of madri and was looking rather suspicious so my hubby made out he wasn’t looking while still keeping a close eye! The barman swapped the glass he had already started to be poured and pulled out one from behind the bar and swapped them My husband confronted him and asked him why he swapped the beers over and the barman replied he had poured it earlier by mistake and didn’t want to waste it….which made absolutely no sense because he had already started pouring a fresh one before he swapped for the one under the bar So in effect he is still wasting a pint Very strange and very dodgy Will not be returning to this pub

Service at the bar was lovely the young lady that served us was really polite. We had to wait a little while for our starters which we did enjoy but then our mains never appeared. Waited an hour 20 and still nothing. We did eventually get an apology that it is coming but then still waited. We then approached the bar lady that served us told her we wanted to pay without the mains and she was just as surprised that we haven't received it yet. She couldn't apologise enough, she was amazing from the start just a shame that we didn't get to eat a full. Meal tonight. Considering we travel a lot to try different foods this was by far the worst food service we've ever had.

We arrived in Salisbury by train on a Sunday. As we walked into town in the rain, we spotted the Bell and Crown and stepped in for lunch. We were able to set our bags in the corner and relax. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, comfortable and exactly right for a 500 year old pub. Three of us ordered the traditional Sunday Roast, and one ordered the Salmon. The Sunday roast was plated beautifully with a Yorkshire pudding crown over three wonderful pieces of beef. The meal was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Wandering around Salisbury on a Friday afternoon, we were looking for somewhere to eat. Salisbury is not short of eateries, but none seemed to appeal until we came upon the Bell and Crown. It was hot outside, but pleasantly cool inside, lots of dark wood. The feel of a real and welcoming traditional English pub. We selected Fish and Chips and one of the beers on the hand pumps. Service was very friendly and efficient. The beer was excellent, as was the food. Not exactly sophisticated, but everything a good pub meal should be.

🚇 Aldgate East 🍺 £5.30 Amstel ❤️ A proper old school London high street pub. . The White Hart is located on forever busy Whitechapel High Street and just a stones throw away from Aldgate East Tube. . This neck of the woods is undergoing massive redevelopment at present, the local landscape has changed irreversibly over the past couple of years which sadly saw the end of a local and excellent pub The Still & Star, this pub is being replaced by towers of steel, glass and concrete (progress) ☹️ . The White Hart looks like it has been slotted in to the row of buildings it sits along with. This narrow pub is quite simple architecturally and has a traditional pub frontage. At the right hand side of the pub is Gunthorpe Street, a cobblestone narrow alleyway which was a location of one of Jack The Rippers murders. I had a peer up the alleyway and it does have a moody atmospheric feel to it. . Inside, this boozer is long and narrow and does stretch back a fair bit. The decor is traditional with a wooden floor, a bright red panelled bar and lots of bric-à-brac on the walls and ledges. . I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was very lively with a mix of a few locals, tourists and a few lively characters who had been on the sauce all day and had just come back from The Arsenal win over Man U. The beer choice here is simple, I ordered a pint of Amstel which was a good drop and my cheapest pint of the day at £5.30. I must mention the Guvnor, as mentioned earlier there were a few fellas who were raising the noise levels and he calmly kept them in check. I spoke with him briefly, he was from the same part of Ireland my family are from, he’s a big fella and was well in command of this E1 pub. . I love a high street pub, for me there is always that little edge to them about who’s in attendance or who’s going to walk in the door. The welcome and service here were top notch and you will be well looked after. The White Hart is a proper London pub and is a great example of how all pubs used to be around this manor. Top pub, top Guvnor’, nuff said me old china. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 23/04/22

We stopped for lunch on our way to a spa break on Sunday. My diet can be a bit tricky, but when the staff saw that I was struggling, they had a word with the chef and came up with a lovely vegetarian roast without cauliflower, mushroom or potato. The homemade sausages were the best I've ever had, and I'm now hunting down recipes to try! A very welcome lunch.
