We had a Sunday afternoon where we sat outside in the beautiful weather and enjoyed a few beers and wine, we ordered pizza from the nearby pizzaria, super good service and a really nice place in Salisbury.

We were looking for a nice quiet place to have something for lunch and that's exactly what we got at the Market Inn. Friendly staff at the bar that made us feel very welcome and great pizza 🍕

Went in after they re-opened and the difference is night and day!! The staff are so welcoming and the food was incredible!! Definitely going to be making this place my local!! Hats off to the new team!!

I had my baby shower at the market inn, I reserved part of the upstairs where I could have a table. They let me put balloons up and decorate as I pleased. I ordered lots of starters as nibbles and they were lovely! Great customer service from Ellie and Darcie. Thank you!

Fabulous meal. Amazing value, I had the £5 burger with sweet potato chips. Great find.

Busy Saturday lunchtime. Good portion size of meals. Main courses not as hot as expected. No pigs in blankets at lunchtime.

Took 5 minutes for someone to come speak to us and then once sat at the table we were told someone would come to take our drink order in 2 minutes... 30 minutes later and still no one arrived however plenty of people around us had their orders taken and their food served, even though one table was seated after us they still had drinks and food ordered and served in that time. Tried to catch a staff members eye but no avail. When leaving the member of staff behind the bar was rolling themselves a cigarette. Very disappointed as the food looked and smelled lovely.

We ordered a veggie and beef roast that were delicious. The staff Ellie and Darcie were very pleasant and professional and brought us some extra gravy when we asked for it. The chocolate brownie with cookie dough ice cream was the best I ever eaten. We’ll be sure to come back on our next visit to Salisbury.

Disgusting food got here quick but raw frozen burger overcooked steak when asked for medium well burnt buns and cold chips would not recommend

Small portions. Some items were missing and it took ages to arrive. We won't rush back here. Although our dog was made most welcome

Nice beer but no warnings about what wasn't on the menu until it came time to order. The first three things I ordered they didn't have, the mashed potato was basically Smash instant mash, the 'glazed' veg had no glaze, the sausages in gravy had no gravy and the side order came out after the main was finished! For a Tuesday night, that's pretty poor. Safe to say it's a pub I'll avoid next time I'm in the city. ** In response to your message** My review still stands. Your staff didn't inform us at all that some items weren't on the menu. If we had known that we wouldn't have tried to order them to begin with! Your answer still doesn't explain the other reasons for my complaint either.

Visited yesterday. Ordered a starter as well as a steak for main course, plus drinks. Taking my second mouthful of mushrooms, I was greeted with a mouthful of grit/earth. After using a napkin, I decided rather than making a fuss, I would concentrate on the rest of the meal. The steak was a bit chewy, but about what I expected at the price point. The younger server came over halfway through to check how I was enjoying my meal. I explained about the grit in the mushrooms. She offered to replace the meal or if there was anything else she could do. I said that I was not after a discount but simply wanted the kitchen to know, which she said she would do. After I had finished an older lady came over to take the plates and again asked how my meal had been. I explained about the grit in the mushrooms. She actually suggested it could have been the 'seasoning' i.e. salt and pepper. I was left speechless. As you can imagine I doubt I will be eating here again. Although the grit was the worst thing, they also served the starter and main course together, transforming a relaxing lunch into a race to eat the food before it got cold. I did not ask for a discount because I wanted to make it abundantly clear that I was not simply making up a complaint. I have never been served unwashed vegetables before. Spent about £45 overall. Left wishing I had gone to McDonalds, or spent a bit more at the Pub next door.

This is a busy place, at all times. It has a central location and so gets a lot of people for that reason We visited on a Sunday evening - it wasn’t that busy but it took a long time to be served. Food was okay - nothing better than okay.

Came here today. Atmosphere was great. Staff was really friendly. The food was excellent. They have a manager in from another site at the moment. Lovely to chat to her as-well. Definitely will be a return visit.

We came here today looking for food and shelter from the rain...although short staffed we were given free drink because of the long wait..little dogs made very welcome and food was great.Excellent staff and very nice atmosphere.

The Market Inn hosted my brother and SIL’s wedding reception last week and we all had such a great evening thanks to Ronan, Charlie, and Gillan - the lovely bar staff who served us all evening! There were a few issues with the food with dishes coming out at different times or not at all, however, this didn’t really dampen anyone’s experience especially due to the manager ensuring it was all rectified. The drink service was very quick, I was especially impressed with the speed the cocktails were coming out! All the staff were smiley, always happy to help, and really laid back which all contributed to us all having such a fun time. The manager made it extra special with complementary Prosecco for the bride and groom and bringing a penny for the bride to put in the cork while making a wish which is a lovely sentimental keepsake for her. Overall, great evening thanks to the front of house staff.

We visited this place with my friend, the food was normal, the steak option was not available, but the chicken sandwich was good and the beef pie too. Bad service, the girl at the checkout provided super bad customer service, despotic at all times, not very helpful. He wanted to tell us more at all times. Unfortunate for the place!

Our outside table top had not been secured to the legs so when 4 drinks were laid down they all went flying over all of us! The young guys who worked there were apologetic and replaced our drinks. The scampi portions were like a child portion and a salmon linguine had to be returned as it was not cooked and cold in the middle. A replacement was offered but due to no time we had to request a refund. Considering the episode with the spilled drinks and uncooked food I don’t think an apology drink would have hurt to offer. Only a refund for the uncooked food offered. In addition the Toilet seat broken in the mens so all in all a poor experience. We won’t be back.

Had excellent service by Gillan and Rory, both extremely polite and engaging.

The place has very good food but they are very very very slow. It took us more than an hour and a half to eat and there were only two tables.

This is one of my best experiences of a good resaurant and the location was beautiful for us with a young child and it was pet friendly which made all the difference to cater for our needs. The four of us went there for dinner and the waiters Ellie & Ronan provided, "a first class service", the food was delicious and actually found the bill to be fairly priced.

This place could be one of THE places to be. Its fine for drinks but it is known that if you want your drinks to not be forgotten or lost in the system you should order at the bar. The staff are always friendly but sadly in the past few months whenever I have eaten food here there has never not been an issue. This time, there was no cod on the app but there were veggie burgers. So I go to ask inside. No veggie burgers but there is cod available. The cappuccino was served lukewarm, no chocolate on top (forgivable)and literally an inch from the top. I went in to kindly ask for the drink to be remade and for the tap water I had asked twice for 15minutes ago. The girl who was handling the bar by herself at the time apologised and served a much better cappuccino. The spoon and sugar were forgotten. 40minutes after ordering, our one portion of fish and chips and one portion of breaded mushrooms arrived. 30 minute delays or longer, the kitchen should be informing front of house to inform customers. There was no cutlery, salt, pepper or napkins served. We then realised the cutlery is kept in the condiment caddies on the tables, which took a second as nearly all.of them were empty. We found one knife and fork. I think I'll wait until I hear better things to eat here again.

Lovely little place, had a turkey roast for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed. Big up Gillan and Ronan!

One of my favourite pubs in Salisbury

Came in on a wet Saturday 15th July sat for about 10mins waiting for a menu after that I got one myself went to bar to ask if we were to late for breakfast was told no your not to late so I stood there waiting to be served and was ignored and the bar person served three other people in front of me and I was before clearly local drinkers and it wasn't even busy so we left and went somewhere else and we wouldn't come back.

The food was OK, but we waited an hour for dessert even though the restaurant was almost empty. I also got the wrong burger. The drinks (Cola zero) had the quality, like from MC Donalds. The price was reasonable.

We just came here for a beer and a quick bite to eat on Saturday. It was busy and we waited a while for our food but it was worth it. The chicken wings are delicious and great value for money. We'll be back!

Set in the scenic marketplace of Salisbury, this is one of the several small restaurants on the row. As much a drinking place as a restaurant, this is not the fanciest pub in Salisbury. Service was a bit slow, but also the sign that the food is freshly cooked and not processed. We liked the fact that veggies were fresh and the mash is homemade. In a nutshell, not a gastronomic experience, but a good and affordable venue in a pleasant part of the city.

6 of us popped in for a Sunday roast. Unfortunately all food wasn't brought out at same time, proportions differed, and food not overly hot. Side orders arrived after 3/4 of the way through food. What food we had was nice.

Decent pub came in for drinks towards the end of the night Saturday evening Was busy but still plenty of space to sit the music was loud upstairs but silent down. Had the most delicious cheese/bacon/beef burger in a brioche bun with fat chips today, I was visiting Salisbury with a dear friend and we stopped here to eat lunch, will recommend this place to eat and will defo go again next time I’m in Salisbury, service was impeccable too!😁😁

Nice little pub, sat and read a book and enjoyed the atmosphere! Polite service, beers a bit expensive but usually are at these types of pubs, but nice and small for a quick beer, would recommend!

I always find is a shame when I have to rewrite a review to downgrade my rating. My original rating, a year ago, was 5 stars. Now I feel generous giving 3 stars. Having been to the Market Inn many times over the years and eaten lots of food there it's a shame to see the standards dropping. The knowledgeable and experienced bar staff seem to have been replaced with inexperienced though hard working staff members. The quality of the food has noticeably dropped, with my last couple of meals there having been rather disappointing. It's a shame to see what was, in my opinion one of the best pubs in Salisbury becoming a mediocre, overpriced chain pub.

Having read the other reviews I can only assume we came on a bad day... ordered soup and crusty bread....the bread was sliced and to our horror mouldy...the young lady replaced it but took a while..I had deep-fried prawns and calamari which were cremated as was my husbands scampi... very disappointed

Small downstairs bar area, with a larger upstairs space, 3 ales available, the serving of coffees can extend the waiting time at the bar.

Stumbled upon this little delight of a pub on our recent dat trip, Paige served us and was an absolute delight. we would definitely recommend a visit if you are local.
