Love the angel, always stsy there, ground floor rooms are bit bigger, but all rooms are excellent, staff are great,

Had booked months before for a cycle tour. Manager phoned us on the morning to say the pub had a private evening party on, which turned out not a problem, apart from a few people chatting outside the rooms until late. Rooms are separate with balconies, where we could out the bikes. Nice rooms. Managed to get breakfast after a bit of misunderstanding as the staff forgot to tell us we needed to book it the night before , decent breakfast!

Great facilities here, lovely outside space. Reasonable choice of drinks. Not the cheapest prices but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Had late evening drinks. Quiet for 22.15 on a Friday night, but no complaints. Been in and out of this place for 30 years, nice place. 👍

Had a 42 year school reunion here. Very accommodating. Rooms comfy too!

What a lovely place to eat. So nice to be able to walk in on a Sunday lunchtime and ask for a table and get it! Lively atmosphere of families and other diners. Service was speedy. Two friendly ladies brought us our meals. Sadly no beef roasts but the pork was tasty. Would definitely recommend.

I haven't been here for a while due to poor health. It's good to see a crowd, upstairs and in the bar. I couldn't stay out long enough to listen to the band but it looked like they had several fans.

Cosy atmospheric pub. Food was good. Service was friendly.

Has a warmth and comfort of a traditional hotel + public house, but visibly has suffered the pub chain modernization - from digital advertising board in the foyer to 'Oak furniture land' -esque functional but characterless furniture. If you weren't aware of the 'Sunday Roast', nothing on the menu would have alerted you to it. A friendly and hospitable manager, but inexperienced waiting staff. The Sunday Roast was excellent and the Chicken Caesar Salad was 'highly commended'. An good pint of Arkells IPA smoothed over all the failings. The final failure was by the waitress: a failure to ask for a 'gratuity'. Maybe we don't all want to add 10% to the Sunday lunch, but it has just about become standard in UK hospitality! I guess it's a challenge for a hotel/pub to work out whether you are / aren't going to look for 'tips / gratuities', but if not, probably worth saying so, or just having a tips jar! A beautiful and homely pub in the heart of Royal Wooton Basset. We were here for a wedding in their rooms upstairs. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the rooms were perfect for what was needed out of the occasion. A lovely atmosphere to the building and the environment.

Good food, but a bit slow service, perhaps because it was a late booking. Staff did tend to bring food to the end of the table and we had to pass along. Friendly staff

Friendly staff, but not communicative or attentive. Waited for over an hour for a couple fish and chips. Food was average. Overall not a fun experience.

The interior of this English High Street Pub retains all its traditional wooden beams, floors and layout, paired with modern heating, lighting and overall good food and service. A large area at the rear and side of the building has covered outside seating, and some modern accommodation is also available. The Angel has a warm and friendly atmosphere and welcomes customers of all ages, who enjoy a drink, a meal or a meeting. Parking is readily available at the car park behind Sainsbury's supermarket, an easy 2 minute walk from there to the rear of the pub. Recommend a visit.

Excellent lunch of fish and chips .

Well looked after and has a more high end feel to a pub. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Prices are a bit higher and have found the manager's demeanor poor at times. Definitely not been made to feel welcome at times.

Flying visit as on way to Bristol. Lovely pub. Would have stopped longer. Staff good and helpful. Looks like there's plenty space for a really good do. Guide to rooms looks good too. 👍

I liked the establishment but my friends and myself could not believe it when last orders bell was rung at 9.15 pm. We tried to order another drink a few minutes later and were told they were now closed. We were then told to leave at 9.45 pm. So approx 9 paying customers business was not required. No wonder pubs are going out of business ! WILL WE GO BACK ?

Very expensive, two large glasses of wine almost £20.

My family and I had a great time yesterday. A lovely Christmas Dinner well cooked and presented Compliments to the chef. The staff were very good and provided friendly service .

Nice atmoshere, quick service, was popular on saturday many people standing as they couldnt get a table. Popped in for quick drink whilst waiting to pick up a curry. Lovely pub

I joined my work colleagues here for a Christmas meal, and was ready to accept that lower quality that many places suffer from when serving 10 or more people at the same time. Not so at the Angel! Food was hot, quality was excellent and the portion sizes were as generous as the food was delicious. Add to the occasion that the staff were friendly and efficient and our Christmas meal was perfect. Thank you!

Firstly we asked for our cups of tea to be served with our meal but the girl made it about 10 minutes early. When we said about this the girl didn't really like it. When the food arrived, my partner's fish finger sandwich was - literally - swimming in oil. We pointed this out and the girl proceeded to say the Manager was out and Chef had left so couldn't authorise any refund. We said we weren't after a freebie but wanted to leave feedback. The girl agreed that the fish was swimming in oil and apologised again. Not really acceptable.

A nice place to go for drinks but I wouldn't advise eating here. Our camembert came out half raw and we were returned the same one clearly microwaved and still with hard chunks throughout. My burger had no flavour but the chips were nice. The pasta equally had little flavour and could best be described as bathing in garlic water.

Wife and In-Laws love this place for a coffee. Lack of cakes makes me prefer other places.

A great pub in a lovely Market Town

The Arkells Beer....and yes I know it is not to everyone's taste....was superb. Best Pint of 3B's I have had in a while. Can't comment on anything else as it was just a quick visit.

Good beers on tap, great food and a cosy environment.

Bit on the expensive side for my budget, but it is very popular and serves good food a d drink! Haven't been a guest in the hotel so can't comment on that! Staff are always friendly and welcoming.

The Angel in Royal Wootton Bassett it's one of the best pubs in Wiltshire not number two or three but number one try for yourself.

The angel. What can I say. Heavily dissatisfied when I ate here for lunch. I paid a crazy amount for a sandwich so would have it expected it to be on the best bread/bun in town and quite frankly with side salad, a little glitter god knows just some kind of presentation and justification for what I had paid but honestly I could have made one in my own kitchen this sounds silly it's a sandwich of course I could have! But when you eat out and it's expensive you expect to get a little more than just rusting something up at home. Overpriced and staff aren't very friendly at all. Don't feel comfortable here so just don't visit! It's a beautiful building and I've heard great things from other people but it's just not my cup of tea.

Nice well kept pub with a couple of Arkell's beers on tap. Friendly staff and good food from the restaurant, though it's pricier than some of the other local pubs.
