Great take aways. Phoned order through and was ready when I went to pick it up.

The only taste that comes through is pure salt. We have asked for less salt when placing orders and when they do this i can eat it, but when they dont do it i have to bin it, THEY REALLY NEED TO CUT DOWN ON SALT they need to ask the cook why so much salt added does he not ever taste the food

I just wanted to leave some positive feedback for New Champion. The food was absolutely delicious! The flavors were authentic, and everything was cooked to perfection. I also appreciate the quick service and friendly staff. Keep up the great work!

Really disappointed! Have ordered from New Champion since they started deliveries during COVID. Felt like we helped to keep them afloat during this time and now they have started charging for delivery, whilst the quality of food has got a lot worse. Used to be superb, but will think twice about ordering again now

Ordered takeaway as a treat with my friend. The food was terrible, absolutely inedible. I had beef curry which had no taste only tasted of salt. The sauce was tasteless, glutinous and very over salted. My friend ordered lamb which looked as if it was incinerated. It was burnt beyond recognition. The whole lot went in the bin. An expensive mistake and very disappointed. Won't be ordering from the New Champion ever again.

Rude staff, disgusting foods, used to had fab reputation. Unfortunately quality of food and customer service gone down the hill.

Great food, always get our weekly Saturday night treat here. Pity restaurant isn't open anymore, as there was always a good atmosphere.

We ordered a takeaway, not a sit down meal . They were incredibly busy but my food arrived only a few minutes late and was tasty and well priced.

Must be under new management/ownership. Used to be the best Chinese for miles. Curry is now like dog food, less flavour, rice was stodgy. Last visit. Not good at all.

I really love Chinese food and it’s amazingly delicious here, no matter how many times I’ve tried it in other places, it can’t compare with this. Excellent fast service, you can order by phone, delivery is available, I highly recommend it

I am addicted to this place due a weekly fix. Unquestionably, the best chips for many miles around, always beautifully cooked fish. Try it, others I've recommended it to seem to concur

Always very wary ordering my usual dish from a new, or different to the usual Chinese restaurant. But this time I was not disappointed, the beef chow mein was not bad, but the chicken balls, oh my good Lord, to die for people, absolutely perfect, light and crispy batter with perfectly cooked 🐔 Salt and pepper chips without the chilli's, again absolutely perfect, not too much seasoning and neither too little, perfect. Also the swet and sour sauce I could probably drink, lush. Will order again.

They were watching die hard at Christmas. And the quarter back is toast!

Usually quite decent but tonight it was terrible. The duck was soggy and greasy and not at all crispy and the hoi sin was watered down to the point it just dribbled out of the pancakes. Disgusting

Good quick service, lovely food (still think it is the nicest fish in town with generous portions). Like that there is the option to wait in the restaurant area so not all crowded close together in the shop.

Love this place. Food is tasty and quick. Girls behind counter are so friendly. I live in Melksham but never hesitate to drive to the Champion for best Chinese for miles around.

I ordered a collection order at 18:20 on Wednesday evening and it was ready to collect in 15 minutes. I have never had such tasty food ready so quickly. I will definitely be ordering from here again. I highly recommend the Crispy Lamb with Mongolian Sauce and the Mushroom Fried Rice, both were delicious.

Best Chinese takeaway in Wiltshire, as far as I'm concerned, always take my calls and the food is always spot on no matter how busy.

The staff was welcoming, placed my order 5 to 10 minutes my order was ready. Now full.

First time at a Chinese restaurant, really enjoyed the meal, I felt the tables were to close together.

Very tasty Chinese food, another quality restaurant in Westbury. I had walked passed a few times and it always seems busy which is an obvious good sign. I chose the wafer king prawn, 4 really large prawns in what might also be called paper prawn. The portion was much larger than I expected and really tasty. For main I chose Kung Po Chicken with stir fried Chinese veg and plain rice. Again large portions, well cooked and good ingredients. Washed down with a Tsing Tao beer.

An average 4 stars. Decent food but couldn't shake the vinegary edge to the sweet and sour dishes. Take away from here is the same as well. Overall a pleasant experience with attentive staff and clean and comfortable restaurant.

This place does the best Chinese food in all of Wiltshire - this coming from a Chinese person who has fairly high standards! Get you some ribs, king prawns and chow mein - guarantee you'll have a happy tummy.

How can you get sweet and sour sauce messed up in my order... I went home and put this weired prawn spicy sauce all over my chips... and ewww it's disgusting... now I can't eat them... what do I do... that was a waste of money... really was looking forward to eating my sweet and sour sauce

We seem to end up here a lot. I would say the food is ok. The staff however, are lovely.

Awful Chow Mein and sweet n sour were average and the chilli beef was inedible, just a stodgy mess. I don’t think any of the dishes were freshly cooked on site. Just meat partly mixed in with gloopy sauce. Waste of money going there.

**Take-Away Only Review* I've tried the chowmein and it is incredibly greasy and comes in a small foil container. The portions are small for Rice and curries and plain chowmein, For example a chicken curry with egg fried rice is in two small foil containers. I did enjoy the chicken curry and egg fried rice, Just wished there was more of it... The chips are absolutely lovely and by far the best thing about this takeaway. The chips and prawn crackers are both of reasonable sized portion but unfortunately the rice and curry dishes aren't. The curry sauce is on the tad sweeter side compared to other Chinese restaurants. I Always receive good customer service from the friendly staff. I would recommend China Cottage for larger portions and Delivery The biggest drawback of this take-away is they do not offer delivery.

It was friendly, the food was average. But it was too loud in there. You couldn't hear your own conversation.

Had a take away from here tonight. Really nothing special at all. The food looked like it did not have a lot of effort put into it. The shredded chilli beef was soggy and the sauce was not great, not very spicy either. I will not order again. Not nearly as good as the place we usually use, it's a shame they were on holiday.

Duck was average, crispy beef was awful it was like the oil hadn't reached temperature and tasted like soggy flour.

Didn't enjoy the food. Ordered for collection was told 25 mins. Arrived and had to see my food waiting in a box while they took a further 30 mins to cook noodles. Got home food was obviously cold and they had missed part of my order. They did rectify it quick and i had to go back and i get mistakes can be made but the food was not nice at all...... my prawn crackers were chewy and not crispy..... how does that even happen !!!!

Excellent takeaway, I always enjoy my meals from here. Some gluten free options. There is a restaurant adjoining. Although I haven't eaten here it looks lovely & I'm sure you will find the service first class.

Had not been here for nearly 20 years as have moved away from the area and decided to return for a birthday meal . This is the best Chinese restaurant!!!!! The food was great, the service was great, the staff were very helpful especially Allan who especially put himself out! We will definitely return, and won't leave it another 20 years!!!

Not the best quality really. I had Mongolian lamb, vegetarian an pancakes roll and egg fried rice. Meat was very fatty and greasy. The sauce was very shiny and not nice. Egg fried rice was bland and then the veggie pancake roll had prawns and pork in it. I am not vegetarian but it wasn't great quality. Probably best to avoid this take away.

Fast, efficient service and good food

Had a meal here with friends last night. (29th May) Food and service was excellent. We didn't book as we thought a Tues evening would be quiet but it was packed. However they managed to find us a table for six within a few mins. Food was hot and well cooked and we didn't have to wait long. We were made to feel welcome and all staff were attentive and polite. This was my second visit but won't be my last. Highly recommended.
