The Market House Inn Cullompton in Mid Devon

I had heard the market had new management. I have never felt more at home in a pub, I’m Pretty sure the manager is called Martin, all I can say is what a friendly, welcoming and respectful caring person. Couldn’t do enough for not just me but every punter in the pub. Such a hard working man with a massive smile on his face . I will definitely be returning and recommending this place ti everyone

Market house is under new management. They seem very friendly and welcoming. Always friendly. Good atmosphere. Lovely garden to sit in the summer and good that they can put different sports on different channels so there is a choice for everyone.d

After this being my local for many, many years I’m really disappointed to find this family, DOG FRIENDLY (advertised as such) pub is no longer dog friendly since the new manager has taken over. Especially after asking new landlord directly if it was ok to take my dog in and was told it wouldn’t be a problem… first visit and was asked to sit in the garden at the end of October. Other dogs are welcome in the warm but not mine? I actually liked the new landlord and was looking forward to getting involved with the things they were looking to set up. Luckily the White Hart welcomed us all and as always my dog was well behaved, welcomed and laid down in a corner as always. Shame on you.

I’m sad to say that market had wonderful staff but now not anymore. The assistant manager was very rude and argumentive when I tried to have a conversation with him about over charging us and he didn’t want to hear none of it. I am not impressed. I do NOT recommend market to anyone anymore it’s not the friendly place it used to be due to rude staff

Fantastic atmosphere and great beer.

No food, but snacks or nibbles... We always enjoy our visits. I love the blood orange gin and lemonade..

Went to the market house to see a friend that lived in Cullompton, I thought I was in a Weatherspoons as drinks were really cheap. Will come again when visiting again

£6 for a double rum n coke. Great value

Went in for a drink with friends. Good atmosphere, chilled group of people. Security in the door were pleasant. Great town pub , had a couple of shorts. Some selection but not what I'd usually drink.

Was told to drop kids laughing because people complained but it s family pub so kids loud but not running around

We only dropped in for a quick drink and to catch up on the football results, staff were friendly and helpful

Visited this pub during the hot weather and sat in the enclosed garden area great experience.

Lovely looking pub good drinks good bar staff but groups of teenagers hogging the pool table all night and putting 12 £1 coins down on the table is just ridiculous, not allowing others to use the table. I don't know how this is allowed such a shame because that's the only downside

Friendly atmosphere, well priced

Imagine going in to a pub for a nice drink with friends and a member of staff asks if you want to buy drugs! Actually can’t believe it massive avoid this pub at all costs staff are rude and clearly on drugs or selling!!

It's a lovely place with friendly staff and a great outdoors with a beer garden

I'm sorry guys but this place has seriously gone down hill

16 -08 2022. Went into the bar to play pool, my wife, who is on blood thinner medication, due to a blood clot on the lung accidently had her foot stood on by a stiletto shoe causing her to bleed un-controllaby. Went to the bar for tissue to stem the bleeding, landlady, told me to leave the pub because my wife was bleeding on her floor. No help was offered by the landlady, for my wife which was her 53th birthday. She was told to leave because she was bleeding on there carpet. Avoid this pub, because the landlords are not fit to run a pub. No help just get out of my pub.

Went to the market house tonight 30/07/22 Well what a dirty pub!! Tables so sticky a friend went to the bar for a cloth to clean the table. Went to the toilet no toilet paper I had to tell the bar staff who was very rude!! The tap didn’t work properly. The floor was very littered and dirty. There was a young girl who clearly wasn’t old enough to be in the pub drinking no one checked for i.d. Considering we’ve been in a pandemic I was totally shocked at how bad it was in there. Won’t be back.

You can not dine here they don't do food anymore. Friendly staff. Lovely beer garden. Tap in the ladies toilet not working so unable to wash my hands and has been like this a fair while.

Avoid this pub at all costs. Overheard the people running this pub making extremely racist and offensive comments about another customer. Toilets disgusting. Overall this is by far the worst pub I have ever been to in Devon.

Lively with the darks on point and the regulars friendly and fantastic. Bang tidy vibes on a rainy evening. Bar staff knew how the drinks were to be poured and the to bantz were delivered and received. It maked my night.

Used to enjoy going to this establishment often with friends and colleagues, however as time went on the landlady became rude, drinking whilst at the bar giving very strong opinions not worrying about who she offends and talks about people behind their backs. Not to mention the increase in weekend fights and drugs being taken in the garden. Was going to try support this business as well as the others after lockdown, but Facebook comments including status where she admits to breaking to restrictions of rule of 6 and her very rude replies to customers shows that things have gotten worse and custom isn't appreciated. Will return when a new landlord takes over and hopefully has a happy friendly atmosphere. Until then I don't recommend this public house, there are many more in the town to give your support to and management who will be grateful. There are also other pubs in Cullompton that do food to give an all round better experience.

The bar guys are fab, the land lady on the other hand is very opinionated! And extremely rude! Wouldn’t travel or walk out of my way to drink in her establishment.
