The Malta in St Albans

I wouldn't even bother ,crap pub run by local great people. unfortunately the owner has no clue , Hence his closure notice from companies house, Still the land lord knows about business, Notice his other failed companies also, clueless

Spit and sawdust kind of pub, with pool table and fruit machines.

Absolutely rude from the staff never felt so uncomfortable in my life by a lady that works here

Friendly landlord and staff. Kid and dog friendly and it even has a pool table. Made having car trouble over the road much easier to deal with having popped in here.

It's a proper pub and get staff and always feel welcome there.

Just popped in for a quick drink good service Good range of lagers and not double expensive nice local one..

Literally just had one of the best pizzas! Compliments to the chef! So nice I ended up ordering another one! If you’ve not tried the pizza at the Malta add it to the list - it’s an absolute must!

Good all day breakfast and tea for £7.50.

Unpretentious but clean, friendly staff. Tasty hot food (omelette and cheesy chips). Breakfast until 3pm and choice of simple pub lunch dishes. Free car park to the left over the road. Cash only. Good value.

Being a local I have eaten here alot. We mostly have the breakfast or liver and bacon. The breakfast is of great quality as you can see in the picture. The Liver according to my dad has changed his mind towards liver in a positive way. Ive attached photos of menu and food served. I hope you come and visit as it wont be a dissapointed.

Well cooked breakfast and the lunch I had another day was liver bacon onion n bubble well cooked meal n staff are lovely. Pub food plus the chefs specials.

Nice company, pool table, nice Sunday roast, sports channels. All round nice people.

2nd time at the Malta today and I'm glad to be here. The friendly landlady and landlord will have you in fits of laughter. The locals are friendly and the food.... just amazing! Tasty, homemade food cooked to perfection. I highly recommend you add the onion rings to your meal. Best I've had in a long time!!

Wonderful pub. Lovely people great atmosphere. Great music and food. All in all a good place to be.

No siendo de la zona Busqué lugares para llevar a mi tía mayor y padre de salida para el almuerzo y las críticas en tripadvisor sugirió que la Malta ofrece buena comida a un buen precio. Qué encantador pub tradicional con los clientes y el personal más amable que he conocido en mucho tiempo. La comida era fantástica y buena relación calidad-precio, el ambiente estupendo y Tasha fue muy atenta y con excelente servicio, nada era demasiado problema. Tasha incluso fuimos a la molestia de adquirir un budín para mi tía que ni siquiera estaba en el menú! También las instalaciones estaban impecablemente limpias. Gracias por un almuerzo muy agradable, sin duda volveré cuando estoy al lado de la zona.

A proper pub of the type so missed in most town and cities and visit early for a top top breakfast I will be back there again very soon

Had breakfast in the Malta on the 25 of March it was a revisit and I have to say the whole package service, food and price were again fantastic !top quality food great service and great value will definitely be back in a regular basis even got to see Julia putting up 70th Birthday banners for a private afternoon tea party too !well done guys .

A really great breakfast. It's a lovely pub anyway. Even open during extensive building work. Trying to get to required 100 characters. Ah, that's it :)

Great food what ever your taste. mine in particular is the liver and bacon. However had an extensive menu. Speedy service friendly family surrounding. Really is a good all rounder. If your in Harpenden well worth a try.

This pub I would suggest IS the best place in Harpenden for a very friendly pint and if in hours some very good food.

This pub became a free house some years ago. As a result of this the landlords extended the range of beers and started to offer food. I have to confess that we had only been in for the occasional drink but a friend told us tthey did the best breakfast in Harpenden so we had to give it a try. Our friend was right - the breakfast was perfect. The ingredients are all free range and cooked perfectly. We were asked how things were in a genuinely interested way not in a slightly disinterested “we have to ask this” way. We will not be waiting to long before we go back for another breakfast and will also be trying their lunch offerings.
